each person in this world is biologically given a designation at birth: Alpha, Omega, and Beta

Alphas: the bigger, more aggressive people who are usually assigned male at birth. when they reach maturity from the ages of 16-20, they strike off from their tribes like male mammoths or modern day elephants do. they either spend most of their time alone or in small bachelor bands. they may often gravitate to the territory of a tribe different from their home tribe. alphas will travel into tribes in late fall/early winter for the mating season and will compete with other alphas and some beta males. the tribe matriarch will keep contests and fights from being deadly.

Betas: more of the middle ground between the other two. their biological urges to mate are not as strong as the other, and physically are like a mix of the two. often times they slightly outnumber omegas in the tribe. they are not as fertile so they can spend more time hunting and gathering.

Omegas: the smallest diminitive tribes people, often females or AFAB. they are as capable of herding the reindeer, hunting, and making of things but they are more geared for carrying and having children. 7 out of 10 times the tribe matriarchs are older omega females who are wise from their years and know how much of the world and tribe. omegas mature at 18-22. each omega family has a unique scent from their mother and their mother's mother and so on so a omega wont mate with an alpha that is her brother or father (if the father lives that long).

each tribe does all things (raise reindeer and horses, hunt, make weapons and other things, gather) but often are better more known for one thing especially. and each tribe also has unique physical traits that can be mixed and passed to their offspring.
