CHAPTER 7

~The coven of the Chaos Force~
MODRED: "What!? Fool! Once again you all have failed this occult as well as the principalities above us. What use are you to calling yourself a high level sorcerer if you can't even handle a kid and retrieve a fucking map?"

Modred raged at the news of his minions' failure. Their inability to secure the map, and worse, their failure to eliminate David, further threatened the cause for his future plans.

SORCERER: "Forgive us, Grand Mage, for we have failed you. However, the divine ability the boy wielded became a lethal threat to us. Its dangerous holy fire got us suppressed and barely able to retaliate. One other thing, he left a message... He said he's coming for y-"

'Slash!' The sorcerer had barely finished his sentence when he felt his head separate from his body. Modred spared no patience in decapitating the high mage's head for good, barely glancing at the fallen corpse.

Once he was done, he turned to the other kneeling and shivering sorcerers in the coven and glared at them with a ferocious look of disdain.

MODRED: "The death of this pathetic clown shall serve as a lethal warning to the lots of you who choose to promote failure in this organization. This is the Chaos Force and anarchy is our birthright. We are practitioners of the dark arts, failure and fear are not acceptable here.
"Now, we shall commence retrieving the Map of Mysteries by any means. I will take the lead of the charge, and this time, we'd do things in the old-fashioned way."

In the fading light of dusk, Modred led his coven of sorcerers through the streets of Los Angeles, leaving chaos in their wake. The cities trembled as destruction spread like wildfire.

Civilians who dared to resist met a swift and merciless end, their streets turned into cold battlegrounds. The rest were corralled, held as hostages in a city gripped by fear.

News of the carnage flooded the airwaves, with journalists, bloggers, and broadcasters frantically reporting the escalating violence, warning of the unnatural terror sweeping the city.

Hovering above the devastation, Modred's sinister grin widened as he watched his followers wreak havoc below. Hellish creatures, twisted and monstrous, crawled forth from the shadows to join the sorcerers, amplifying the destruction as the city descended into darkness.

MODRED: "The dark legacy of our glorious pasts shall remain forever. Let the earth shake with terror at the very hearing of our name. You weak humans shall come to learn your pitiful place!
"Now brethren! Retrieve the Map of Mysteries and fetch me the head of the bastard, called David Blaze!"

The Chaos Force's rampage sent tremors through the city, their destructive power reverberating even as far as the military base where David stood. The ground beneath them quaked with unsettling vibrations, signaling the chaos drawing nearer.

Fiona had already positioned her troops, ready to face the growing threat. Soldiers hurriedly prepared, arming themselves for the inevitable clash. Without a thought, Fiona offered David a short gun, her expression stoic and focused.

FIONA: "This may come in handy," she said.

DAVID: "Hmm... I'm no soldier so this won't be necessary. My power would suffice." David rejected the gun, confident in his ability.

FIONA: "[Takes back the shotgun.] Fine. Suit yourself." She responded nonchalantly.

Fiona secured the gun in the back of her belt, her focus shifting sharply to her troops. Time was slipping away, and the Chaos Force had to be stopped at all costs.

Above them, battle drones and fighter jets roared to life, launching into the sky one after the other to begin the assault against the enemy. Fiona stood firm, flanked by Jimmy, Dexter, and Rim, each gripping their firearms, eyes locked on the horizon.

Turning to her troops, Fiona's voice cut through the tension. She spoke with resolve, delivering words of courage and conviction, her aim clear - to strengthen their spirits and prepare them for the battle ahead.

FIONA: "A villainous threat has been placed upon our peaceful cities, they have taken a course for terrorism using the means of conjuring vile outworld creatures to our reality. This is for one very reason I suspect - To retrieve the TRIBE's Map of hidden Mysteries. Remember this, the Map relic in their hands will potentially spell danger in this world.
"In their fantasy, they believe us to be powerless before their sorcery but such delusion will be their undoing. We shall go forth and remind them of who we are, and what we stand for. Now brace yourselves, soldiers, for we shall experience the graceful taste of triumph on this very day!"

As Fiona's final words rang out, the troops erupted into charged battle cries, their spirits ignited. They swiftly mobilized, marching toward the heart of the conflict. Rim led her squad toward one of the ravaged cities, while Jimmy guided another unit to strike at a different target. Dexter remained with Fiona, both preparing to confront the sorcerers threatening Beverly Hills.

Standing at the base's exit, David had quietly listened to her speech. As the troops moved out, he approached Fiona, stepping through the lingering noise of battle preparations to offer his compliment.

DAVID: "That was one hell of a speech."

FIONA: "Hmm. Now isn't the time for compliments. We've got Chaos Force's problem to solve here."

DAVID: "Hey, just saying." David replied with his hands up in surrender.

FIONA: "[Sighs.] Whatever. You have to be vigilant. The Chaos Force must not get their hold on the map, got it?"

DAVID: "Yeah, I get it."

FIONA: "Good. You're one of us now. So let's get to work."

Modred and his minions continued to terrorize the cities, keeping prisoners of many civilians. His armies had swept through Beverly Hills, but they also laid siege to Hidden Hills and Long Beach, where two of his high level sorcerers led the destruction in his name.

Soaring through the skies of Beverly Hills, he observed his minions and the summoned dark creatures bidding on his command. However, as events continued to unfold, Modred eventually caught sight of numerous military vehicles approaching his location.

(Humph. The bait is set, and they've walked straight into it. The Map of Mysteries and their heads shall be mine this very day.) Modred sneered, his eyes narrowing in disdain.

With a twisted grin spreading across his face, he looked down at the sorcerers and creatures assembled beneath him, his voice cold as he addressed them.

MODRED: "Finally, brethren! The pitiful resistance has made their move. In the name of our Supreme Mage - Marietta Glimmer, go now and claim their heads!"

On Modred's command, a wave of dark, hellish creatures surged forward, accompanied by mage-level sorcerers whose eyes burned with arcane energy. Spells streaked through the air like bolts of cursed lightning, aimed directly at Fiona and her troops. The military vehicles veered sharply, engines roaring as they scrambled to dodge the lethal onslaught.

With a precise, commanding gesture, Fiona directed a hundred soldiers to split into two groups, each heading toward cities under siege. The remaining fifty stayed at her side, pushing relentlessly forward toward Modred's stronghold.

David followed closely on a military bike, its engine growling beneath him, weaving through the chaos. He stayed near Fiona's vehicle as they pressed on, their course unwavering as dark spells continued to rain down.

The sorcerers intensified their assault, unleashing torrents of destructive magic. Around them, the hellish creatures launched soul wave projectiles, their deadly energy cutting through the air toward the advancing soldiers.

<<The "Soul Wave" was a notorious ability utilized by both low and high-level demons hailing from the depths of hell. It was a direct and torturous assault on the souls of the damned. But in the mortal realm, anyone who became a target of this attack either died instantly or became soulless, ultimately turning into a mindless creature or an easy target for demonic possessions.>>

In retaliation, the troops opened fire from their vehicles, the sharp reports of various firearms cutting through the air. Bullets and shrapnel tore through the night, lighting up the darkened battlefield as they targeted the soaring sorcerers and the winged creatures that filled the sky.

Grenade blasts echoed like thunder, scattering debris as sorcerers and creatures alike were blown apart. Submachine guns rattled out in rapid bursts, sending streams of bullets that shredded the attacking forces. Rocket launchers sent streaks of flame arcing toward the sky, their explosions shaking the earth beneath.

Sorcerers caught in the crossfire crumpled from the force of the assaults, while creatures disintegrated mid-air, their bodies torn apart in a rain of ash and blood.

However, the casualties were far from one-sided.

Army vehicles were blown apart, either by the sorcerers' vicious magic or the devastating soul waves unleashed by the creatures. Flames and smoke rose into the air as wreckage littered the battlefield.

Amidst this chaos, Fiona's vehicle came under direct assault. A powerful magical blast from a sorcerer struck it, ripping through its armor. The tires exploded, leaving the vehicle lurching violently as it lost control. Alarms blared as gears jammed and brakes failed, the vehicle careening toward a crash.

Reacting instantly, Fiona summoned her brawler flames. In a burst of searing heat, her Sonic Flame technique ignited, propelling her from the doomed vehicle just before it crumpled. She shot through the air like a streak of fire, leaving the smoldering wreck behind.

But her trajectory hurled her straight toward a mass of snarling dark creatures waiting below, their eyes glowing with malevolent hunger.

"BOOM!" A fiery explosion erupted as Fiona descended, landing amidst the hellish fiends with lethal precision.

Her fist slammed into the ground, unleashing a powerful shockwave of flame that rippled outward, knocking the creatures off their feet in a scorching wave of force. Time seemed to have slowed from the impact, embers flickering in the wake of her landing.

Seizing the moment, Fiona moved with lightning precision. She swung her rifle into position, unleashing a barrage of bullets that tore through the air. Each round found its mark, puncturing the bodies of her stunned victims as they struggled to regain their footing. The air trembled as she expertly aimed and fired, her movements a blur of deadly efficiency.

One by one, the creatures fell, their twisted forms suspended in midair for a breath before crumpling to the ground. As time resumed its natural flow, the battlefield was littered with motionless bodies - some riddled with smoking bullet holes, others charred and broken from the shockwave, their limbs twisted in grotesque positions of defeat.

Fiona stood amidst the carnage, the heat of her flames slowly dissipating, her rifle still smoking from the relentless assault.
