[CH7] CHAPTER 30

~The Scale Shield Organization~
Empowered by the backing of the Chaos Force, Kozak felt a newfound sense of confidence, assured that this time, nothing would go wrong. With the sorcerers under his command, he orchestrated a formidable defense around the Scale Shield's building and its facilities, leaving no room for error or interference.

In a synchronized effort, Kozak led Modred on a comprehensive tour through the labyrinthine corridors of the Scale Shield's building, showcasing their projects and technological resources. His voice echoed off the sleek walls as he narrated the stories behind each innovation, painting a vivid picture of the Scale Shield's relentless pursuit of progress.

Their journey culminated in a visit to the heart of the operation: the engineering base. Here, cutting-edge weaponry and machinery gleamed under harsh fluorescent lights, while a myriad of gears and motors remained stored and meticulously maintained.

Meanwhile, Modred surveyed the engineering base, his keen eyes taking in the sight of machine tools and futuristic vests and suits in various stages of production. However, his focus was swiftly captured by the sight of a towering machine - the same teleportation device that had previously transported Bernard and his crew.

Modred walked toward the machine and had a feel of its rare metallic substances, - his eyes glittering with insane greed as he scanned its features.

'Fascinating indeed,' he murmured under his breath, his voice a husky whisper laden with the weight of ambition. 'The Scale Shield hoards treasures beyond measure, hidden within these walls of innovation and secrecy. But they are mere custodians, unworthy of such power.'

A smirk played across Modred's lips as he envisioned a future where this wondrous machine rested in his grasp, a tool to bend the very fabric of reality to his will. (Once this alliance has served its purpose,-) he mused, his thoughts contemplating deception and betrayal, (-this marvel shall find its rightful place at my side. With it, I shall pierce the veils of distance and time, guiding my path to the TRIBE.)

However, while he stood immersed in his sinister thoughts, Kozak's voice abruptly shattered the silence, jolting him back to the present moment.

KOZAK: "You have to stick to your duty, sorcerer! Now is no time to be absent-minded." Kozak cautioned.

MODRED: "Nonsense! You should be having your minions scout out for the damned boy I mentioned to you about. His head hanging in my altar of chaos is a priority to me and the Chaos Force!"

KOZAK: "I'd say you meant Marietta's altar of chaos. Moreover, what's it about this David Blaze kid you keep bringing up? You seem too wary of him."

MODRED: "You would likely be if you encountered him yourself. As far as I can testify, he is a product of destruction! A breed of true chaos, and potentially deadlier than the untamed Behuga descendant caged within your walls."

KOZAK: "Interesting, sorcerer! Very interesting!! So if this child of chaos is really a threat as you have described, yet you intend to send my minions to fetch such a person?"

MODRED: "Seize from your irritating Fuse, Kozak! You captured the cursed Behuga descendant, did you not? Moreover, this threatful description only matches what the boy poses to the Chaos Force only. His ability is void before your organization and expertise." Modred gave false assurance to Kozak.

KOZAK: "Humph! Whatever I shall have my men track down this boy if you say so, but as agreed, you must have your sorcerers assist my men in catching the superhumans who infiltrated this building!" Kozak bargained.

MODRED: "That is not an issue for the Chaos Force to handle, but yet again, how do we find these superhumans that you speak of?" Modred questioned Kozak.

KOZAK: "[Confidently folds his arms.] There would be no need to worry about that, Modred. They will come to us!" Kozak replied proudly, his voice tinged with certainty.

MODRED: "On what grounds do you think that they will come here?" Modred asked in curiosity.

KOZAK: "We have a number of their people, captured and held bound right here by the last floors of this building. These captives are the baits we need to lure them here!"

Having outlined his strategy to Modred, Kozak excused himself, leaving the sorcerer to his own devices. He retreated to a secluded tech lock space within the engineering base, unveiling a grand design known only to him.

Guarded by an advanced artificial intelligence, access was granted only through a meticulous eye scan. Kozak initiated the verification process, his eyes meeting the unblinking stare of the security system. Upon succession, the lock space yielded, revealing its contents, as the artificial intelligence warmly greeted him with a programmed salutation.

Kozak rapidly inputted some codes across the lock's keypad and In response, the hushed whirring of two mechanized arms emerged, cradling a sleek, metallic armor.

Under the watchful eye of the artificial intelligence, the mechanized arms moved, encasing Kozak in the advanced armor. Each piece aligned perfectly with the contours of his body, sealing him within its protective embrace.

This armor was an exclusive one, bearing the indelible mark of Kozak's genius. It was in other words, named as the 'Omega Power Vest,' and stood as a pinnacle of engineering prowess, surpassing even the vaunted vests worn by the elite soldiers of the Scale Shield organization.

Meanwhile, Modred's gaze met Kozak's armor with an undisguised greed. The allure of possessing such weaponry for himself tugged at the fringes of his consciousness, tempting him with promises of invincibility.

But before he could entertain his covetous thoughts for long, a deafening bang reverberated through the air, shattering the fragile tranquility of the Scale Shield's building.

With haste, Modred sprinted to the nearest window, curious to know what was going on. As he glanced through the window, his eyes widened in astonishment at the scene unfolding before him.

***

Three superhumans, teenagers by appearance yet wielding the elemental fury of fire, clashed with unseen adversaries on the outskirts of the Scale Shield's building. They left trails of destruction behind, their flames dancing to the rhythm of their will as they fought tooth and nail to breach the formidable defenses of their target.

These were none other than Bernard, Bethany, and Shadow.

These three went on a killing spree, burning and ripping through the ranks of every Scale Shield minion that stood in their way. The more the minions resisted, the more the scent of burning flesh and echoed screams permeated the air.

As they pressed forward, their thirst for vengeance grew unquenchable. Every injury inflicted upon them by the guards' futile counterattacks proved to be nothing more than fleeting scratches upon their resilient flesh. Their bodies healed with unnatural swiftness, rendering each assault inconsequential and impotent.

With a retaliatory blur of movement, Bethany became a blazing destruction, her speed matched only by the ferocity of her attacks. Each strike she delivered tore through the flesh and bones of her victims with the ease of a predator toying with its prey. Her lips curled into a manic grin, a savage display of bloodlust that sent shivers down the spine of even the most hardened adversaries. To her, this was not merely combat; it was a reflection of her insatiable hunger for carnage.

Shadow on the other end, unleashed his wrath upon the enemy with a visceral intensity that bordered on madness. With each release of his sky flame, he conjured forth waves of dragon fire that engulfed his victims in a torrent of agony and despair. His attacks were brutal, claiming the lives of those he encountered.

And then there was Bernard himself. With casual indifference, he dispatched his foes with a series of random slaps, each blow delivered with a dismissive flick of his wrist. To him, the Scale Shield's minions were nothing more than pitiful obstacles, unworthy of the true depths of his wrath. He left the fate of his victims in Bethany's capable hands, knowing that her thirst for brutality would ensure that none would escape unscathed.

Meanwhile, From the vantage point high above the chaos unfolding below, Modred's steely gaze bore witness to the effortless carnage wrought by Bernard and his companions.

His smile twisted into a malevolent smirk, his eyes gleaming with madness. He turned his gaze back to Kozak, whose expression mirrored his own.

MODRED: "...Ah, what a picturesque death wish they harbor. Let's turn this moment into a masterpiece!" Modred responded to Kozak, casting a crazed smile as he returned his gaze to the window.

KOZAK: "[Chuckles ominously.] Hah, how predictable! They've played right into our hands, just as I foresaw. Even more foolish than I had imagined," Kozak remarked, reveling in the success of his manipulation.

He turned to Modred with a calm expression, signaling him to do the needful.

Acknowledging the directive, the sorcerer summoned forth a horde of his Chaos Force minions with a flick of his fingers. They appeared in an instant and knelt before him like obedient servants awaiting their master's command.

MODRED: "Wreck those three bloody whores outside the building! Do this in the name of the Supreme Mage," he disdainfully basked his order.

Heeding to their master's command, all kneeling sorcerers hastily vanished from sight to carry out their designated task.
