"I'm sorry to ruin your little date but i don't know if you've forgotten where we were--" We jumped when Byakuya came to collecte me, Mondo and Chihiro.

"We're not on a date--" Mondo sighed, we followed Byakuya out of Chihiros room and into the halway. When we reached the top floor--we were deeply disturbed.

I can't tell if I'm more irritated or disgusted. Irritated that Bykauya had interrupted us for this, or the fact there was a dead body right in front of us. Mukuro was laying down, her body on the ground. Covered by the mask and long jacket--just like in the game.

Toko, or who I assumed was Toko, flung her arms around my back. "Kyree Hahaha! I told ya, there's a corpse hangin' out here!"

"Of course you would find a dead body..." Mondo's eyes twitched.

"Are they really...dead? Is this really a dead body...?" Aoi gasped, I rolled my eyes and responded, "does it look like they're alive?"

"You need to begin looking around right away. However... Be ever so careful. There's no telling what you might find." Byakuya's face was red, he gestured to the body. I couldn't tell if one hundred percent who was under the mask... but I could make a pretty good hunch who it probably was.

We waited for Celestia to rise from the dead body, she reported to us "It appears that their heart isn't beating, they're not breathing...."

"All signs of life have come to a complete stop... Thanks to the knife that's been driven into their stomach, their clothes are stained a bright red. It appears the bleeding has stopped, but the blood that's there is still wet." He carelessly flicked the knife wedged in its stomach. "Be careful you don't touch it and get some on you..."

Chihiro turned away from the body, his face turned white "I-I....can't stand the sight of blood..."

"How can you be so calm at a time like this? Who is it!? Their faces and bodies are all hidden, so I don't have a clue..." Hagakure shook his hands, I guess he just got the chills.

"I'm pretty sure it's a girl at least..." Aoi pointed at their chest.

"Huh? How can you tell?" Mondo asked.

"Are you secretly a perv?" Yashihiro gasped, "There was no way you could tell without feeling them?!--"

"I'm sure Aoi isn't a pervert, idiot--"

Celestia sighed at the two idiots shouting at each other. "Well, I see the outline of her chest. It's just the general shape of the body... "

"Yeah,yeah! Celestia is right! You know, the more I look, the more I'm sure it's a girl."

I leaned close to the body, trying to inspect it myself. Maybe if I pulled off the mask carefully--it wouldn't blow up on us? I looked around in my bag, I shuffled through a couple of items before pulling out a pair of scissors. I opened it from the box and turned to Mukuro, nobody was paying attention to me.

I snipped a little, the area around her neck was exposed ever so slightly. This is good! I could immediately rule out some people with how pale she was, so I moved the scissors upwards. Her chin was exposed.

"Keep going, Y/N!" Chihiro cheered me on, this caused everyone to stop arguing with each other and to watch me.

"Go faster! Kyree hahaha!" Toko, or Genocide Jack, rushed me.

"Don't go too fast, we don't know what could happen--" Mondo sighed and bonked the serial killer on the head. (A/N: I keep writing serial killer as serial killer😭)

I slowly dragged it upwards, her lips were exposed next. 'Yes! We were so close!'

"Hurry up!" She shouted again, I almost lost the grip on the scissors.

"No! I don't want to mess up!"

"You won't!"

"I don't need your help, let me take off the mask myself!"

"Why are you so slow?! Kyree Hahaha! Okay then! Let's just tear the mask clean off!" With a stifled giggle, she ran towards the body.

"Wait, don't--!" Byakuya extended his arm, But by the time he called out, it was already too late. Toko's hand shot out toward the mask. And in the next instant...

Bakugou was here

There was a blinding light, and a deafening roar. The body blew up. I flew backwards, I crashed into a body as they cradled my body. It was so hot, it was burning. The room spun and my ears rang. I slowly faded into consciousness when I heard a laugh.

"Two for two, Y/N." Mondo laughed, "I've saved you twice from falling to the ground."

"Hurry up, put out the fire." Byakuya shouted over the roaring. The group passed down water from person to person, I was struggling to stand. The upper half of the body was on fire. Soon the fire was out and there was nothing left of the body.

Everyone stood around the body, defeated. I swear Aoi was going to strangle the purpllette. Makoto let out a little sigh, "I-I guess that took care of it..."

"What the hell, man?"

Aoi and Mondo screamed, "It exploded?!"

"I...had a bad feeling about that body. But I never imagined it would explode... And now the body..." Byakuya sighed and looked down at the body, he didn't even try to touch it. There was nothing left of it.

"I told you so!"

"I didn't think you were serious, Y/N." Mondo finally got me to stand, "It's burnt to a crisp! That's beyond well done, man!"

"Don't compare it to a steak! I'll never be able to eat steak again..." Aoi grimace.

"But now that the body's charred, I really have no idea... How are we gonna find out who it was?" Makoto dug his hands in his hair, 'how was i going to prove that this was in fact Mukuro--?!'

"Who isn't here right now?" Byakuya whipped his head around, "If we consider who's not here, that will quickly narrow down who it must be."

I couldn't spot anyone missing, "Isn't everyone here?"

"Actually...There's only one person missing... It's...Kyoko." Aoi pointed her fingers together. They clicked as the nails bounced off of each other.

"Calm down. I didn't say it was Kyoko." Byakuya rolled his eyes.

"But, I mean...who else...?" Yashihiro asked.

"There is one other person. The mastermind..." He smirked, as if he was the smartest person alive. It went quiet until we heard someone stifle a scoff, we turned around to Celestia. Her hand was covering her lips, her eyes rolled. "Why are you laughing?"

Her smile faltered, "I am not laughing...you could say I'm in awe. There is no way you all are this stupid."

"D-Don't call me stupid! What, what do you know that we don't?!--Don't roll your eyes, you're stuck like us." Byakuya's face fumed up.

"There is someone missing...ssk, no way you guys haven't noticed they're magically disappeared. Has nobody said anything about where Junko went?"

Everyone turned to the body once on the ground. Mondo's shoulders shuddered, "No way that was Junko, if that's what you're all thinking. A body discovery announcement would have gone off!"

"B-But...isn't monokuma broken? What of...this i-is Junko and we can't tell?" Chihiro fumbled over his words.

"S-Still...where is she? We should look for her..." Aoi shuttered.

"Guys dont be idiotic, this is the mastermind!" Byakuya snarled.

"Th-The mastermind!? Not Junko? Are we sure....? Come on, there's no way! The MASTERMIND got char-broiled!? Get serious!" Yashihiro waved his hands.

"I agree, normally the idea wouldn't be worth considering. But I have reason to believe it may be true." I couldn't take Byakuya seriously when he made all the crazy hand gestures, "The mastermind being dead would explain that other matter, wouldn't it? Monokuma can hardly move around if its master is dead, right?"

"B-But...that corpse is a girl, right? It doesn't make any sense! I mean, remember what Alter Ego said?" Mondo sighed. No no! Don't forget Mukuro?!

"Right! He said the mastermind is some middle-aged dude, right? Which the corpse obviously isn't! Then could that mean...the mastermind isn't the headmaster...?" Yashihiro agreed.

"Instead of Junko or the mastermind--Is it the teenage girl Kyoko told me about? The Ultimate Despair...?" Makoto asked me, 'god you're SO close but yet SO far..."

I felt like banging my head against a window.

"Huh...? Who?"

"Mukuro Ikusaba...the sixteenth student at Hope's Peak..." Makoto slowly explained.

"...What are you talking about?" Byakuya asked.

"The other day, Kyoko confided in me... She said there was a sixteenth student here in the school."

"I think you'd better tell us everything you know."

"W-Well, all Kyoko told me was...'Mukuro Ikusaba... The sixteenth student, lying hidden somewhere in this school... The one they call the Ultimate Despair... Watch out for her.' It really sounded like Kyoko thinks Mukuro Ikusaba is the mastermind."

"There's another student here, and it's a female? That would match the body's characteristics..."

Aoi interrupted Byakuya's interrogation "And that phrase, the Ultimate Despair--it sounds super mastermind-y, doesn't it?"

"Okay, so...the mastermind is this girl Mukuro? And she's a student here? And she's the Ultimate Despair? But if she's been hiding here in the school like some teenage Bigfoot...how'd she wind up burnt to a crisp!?" Mondo turned to me and sighed, his face turned red. "None of this makes any sense! To just suddenly show up and then die!?"

I remembered all the past trials, "I wouldn't put it past Monokuma, in all honesty."

"Y/N's right. I think we'd better take a closer look at the body. There may be some clues to help us figure out exactly who it is." And with Byakuya's final words, we were off to explore...
