Chihiro didn't say a word as we rode up the elevator doors. He rushed off without me and ran down the hallway. I ran after him, no way i'm leaving him alone at a time like this. Chihiro ran into his room, i chased after him but he slammed the door in my face.

No literally, it hit my face.

I clutched my nose, it hurt like crazy. I crouched down as the door swung open. Chihiro gasped as pulled me into the room.

"Y-You've got some grip.... you need to stop working out--" He apologized repeatedly as he pulled me up from the ground, he quickly pulled me into his room before closing the door.

"Oh my god--you're bleeding! I'm so sorry, y/N." he fumbled over his words as he sat me down on his bed. "Tissues, tissues!"

"It's fine, I have some in my bag!" I called out to him before he tore his entire room apart. I pulled out a tissue box from my bag, surprisingly I actually did have some stuffed in there. I put it up to my nose and quickly tried to stop all the blood rushing.

"Y/N...What... what should I do now?" Chihiro asked slowly as he sat down on the bed next to me. He dug his hands into his hair. "Alter Ego was....my best friend. Well one of them, but he's been here with me the longest. They were my first friend, and now he's gone... I spent all day with him and Kyoko. We managed to get him wired up to the system, I knew I should've protected him more..."

"It's not your fault, in the end all viruses get found out--don't they?"

"Y/N... am i--am i a bad friend?" He sniffled.

"What?! You're a great friend!" I threw the tissue's out in the bin. He was straddling me a little with what he was saying.

"I...don't feel like a good friend....I couldn't protect him and I couldn't protect you..."

My heart felt as if it were going to explode.... 'Oh Chihiro...'

"I'm sure if Alter Ego heard you right now, he would be upset... he did something great for all of us today, so let's not waste his death by sitting here grieving!" I flashed him a small smile. "So how about we go get you something to eat and try and--"

"sweet dreams, everyone! Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite... and actually go to sleep! That means you Makoto and kyoko! Don't wake me up at 3AM!?!?"

"I..guess it's night time. We can just hang out together tomorrow! Good night Chihi--" He pulled on my arm.

"S-Stay...? We don't have to share the bed, I'll sleep on the floor...? I'm sorry, i just...i-it's silly.." He confessed. I could tell he needed some company. Flashing him a quick thumbs up, I got up and quickly grabbed my blankets and pillows.

"Let's have a sleepover, is that okay with you?"

"D-Do... we have to invite the others?"

I shook my head before placing the pillows and blanket at the head of the bed, "Of course not, it could just be the two of us!"

He jumped around on the bed a little before sitting still. We had a blast at night. I was glad I could help Chihiro forget about Alter Ego for a little while, he showed me a little code and some small hacks to fix or crash a computer. I was having so much fun until he knocked out from exhaustion....

I made sure he's all bundled up before falling asleep myself.

We woke up the next morning to a new floor being unlocked, all of us scrambled to explore the new area. This is the final chapter, so of course there weren't stairs leading up anymore. I think we're finally coming to a close with the story--which means i can finally go home and everyone will be freed...

  I happily explored the area with Celestia and Chihiro--well after I made her tea. I really hoped that Kyoko and Makoto would include me in their little plan--but i don't know if they still trust me anymore?

  I shouldn't follow them after everyone goes to bed, right? That would only make them more suspicious.

  Yet here I was following the pair to the bathhouse, I hid behind the curtain. Making it look like I was just casually outside... at three AM....

  "Sorry for asking you to meet with me so late." she flicked her hair over her shoulders.

   "Meh, It's okay. I'm used to it."

   "...Indeed." She paused, she looked over to the entrance but I quickly moved back. "But I think... we have a visitor..."

   "A visitor? Who?"

   "You could come out now, Y/N. I'm not telling you twice." I held my breath, maybe if I acted like I wasn't here she would forget about me? Maybe, maybe---

   I screeched as she pulled me into the bathhouse, Makoto looked surprised to see me. I almost tripped over myself like four times. She had such a strong grip on my elbow. "A-Ah! You're going to rip my arm off!"

   "You should be sneaking up on us, what are you even doing here?" She rubbed her eyes, tiredly.

   "I...couldn't sleep." I lied. "I hadn't seen any harm in sneaking up on you--"

   "It's fine, Y/n. Kyoko was wondering when to invite you but she was too shy--"

   "Shut it. I'll allow you to stay with us since you're crucial to our plan... Well then, let me get straight to the point."

   "It's something you can't talk about in front of the surveillance cameras, right? So does that mean...? Does this have something to do with whatever it is you stole from Monokuma?" Makoto completely guessed all her moves, damn.. He didn't even give her a chance. "Monokuma told us earlier that someone had stolen something from him. Was it you...?"

   "...That's right."

   "Wait-- what did you steal?" I asked, she glared at me before holding her hand out, in it was a small key.

   "Why do you even ask? Don't you know everything?"

   "Well... where's the fun in just telling you everything, hmm?"

   "It makes our job a whole lot easier, doesn't it?"

   "Well..you do have a point-- but life isn't easy... is it?"

   "H-Hold on! Stop your bickering, Kyoko--Where did you get this...?"

   "From the headmaster's room." She answered nonchalantly. Even i was a little surprised she said it so cautiously, like anyone could steal from Monokuma.

   "What!? You snuck into the headmaster's room!? But...wasn't it locked?"

   "The lock was broken."

   "It was Sakura. She did it for everyone." I explained, "I think in the letter she left behind 'I'm not going to just lay down and die. I will fight you'..."

   "You know about the note as well? What don't you know?" Makoto gawked.

   "Far more than what I would like."

   "So...Sakura broke into the headmaster's room for us?"

   Kyoko explained how she found the key and how it was broken open, "That's right. So that we could uncover whatever secrets might lay hidden within... I noticed the room was open after the class trial was over yesterday. But if I'd just strolled into the room, Monokuma would have noticed right away. Which is why...I used you as a decoy."

   "Wow... Then...what you told me about yesterday--did that come from the headmaster's room, too?" Makoto sat down next to me on the bench, he looked flabbergasted.

   "Mukuro Ikusaba... The sixteenth student, lying hidden somewhere in this school... The one they call the Ultimate Despair... Watch out for her....I assume you already know who she is?" Kyoko looked over at me and I started to sweat.

   "I... assumed so. I did find a file in the headmaster's room that talked about her, yes. I don't know all the details yet, but...one thing I do know is that Mukuro Ikusaba is dangerous."

   "D-Dangerous...?" Makoto asked.

   "She may very well be the mastermind...that or have something to do with them." She sighed, "will you really not give us any answers, Y/N?"

   "I don't want to play with the future--"

   "How about you talk with the mastermind? Or maybe Mukuro-"

   "They don't know that...i can kinda... this is a mouthful but they don't know how much i know. I don't want to expose myself and end up dead.." I explained, the room fell silent and I could tell she wouldn't let go about this situation.

   Makoto asked. "Anyways-- didn't Alter Ego say that the headmaster was probably the mastermind?"

   "No...the headmaster isn't the mastermind, I'm sure of that."

   "What...?"

   "I don't have proof yet, but I have no doubt I'm right." To make such a strong statement without proof... That's not like Kyoko at all. But...I see her reasoning why... "Anyway, this key is the one big opportunity we've been waiting to get our hands on. Now that we've grasped it, we can't let it go, can we?"

   "Sure, but I mean...what's this key even unlocking---unless...Y/N?"

   "Nope. Stop asking me questions."

   Kyoko ignored Makoto's claims, "I don't know yet. Which is why..I need you two to draw Monokuma's attention again, while I go and find out."

   "Wait, so you're planning on sneaking back in again? You can't! That's way too dangerous! And you want me to draw his attention, but we don't actually know there's just one mastermind, right? If there's more than one person watching us..."

   "...But they didn't catch on last night, right?"

   "Maybe we just got lucky..." Makoto looked at me for help, "How about you just take Y/N with you?"

   "I don't need a babysitter, besides I need you two to distract Monokuma..."

   No matter how hard Kyoko fought, Makoto swore to never leave the bath house if i didn't follow Kyoko into the headmasters office. As Kyoko talked, she was calm and collected but I could tell she's slowly going crazy.

   "It's not bad to have extra protection?" I asked and she finally snapped.

   "If you spend all your time trying to avoid danger, you'll never move forward. We know the danger. But if that risk means solving the mystery, we have no choice. Am I wrong? Am i? Am i?! I can't change how I feel, and wouldn't if I could."

   Then Kyoko took something from her coat pocket and held it out to us. Me and makoto fought over the card before he had kneed me in the stomach, 'This mother fucker--'

   "Suck it, Y/N! Wait, what's this?"

   "Consider it a symbol of my determination. Don't open it yet. Only open it...if something ever happens to me."

   "I-If something happens!? Do you now see why I want Y/N to go with you?!"

   "Stop whining, I'm not planning on dying." Kyoko tucked a hair behind her ear before looking at us. "I'm allowing Y/N to go with me but nothings going to happen. There's always a chance of it, and a death without meaning is...unappealing. Please, I want you to hold on to it for me."

   "Fine. I'll hold on to it, just because you asked me to. But I'm gonna give it back at some point, you can be sure of that!"

   "Why do you get to hold onto it? I'll put it in my bag!"

   "You're going with her? I'll keep it safe!" Me and Makoto went back and forth for a while, and Kyoko started to get fed up. She mumbled something along the lines of 'I'm putting my trust in a bunch of idiots...'

   We followed her out of the room and gave Makoto a quick thumbs up.

   Okay Kyoko, we've got this. Lets go break into a headmaster boarded up room.
