3. Blood Of The Empire

This book- what can I say?

The descriptions are beyond beautiful, the characters are strong and flawed just the right amount, it DESTROYS stereotypes, and has got me hooked.

From the very first sentence of this story, you get attached to it. The characters are so phenomenal, and the way mental illness is portrayed is unbelievably accurate. The plot is so intricate and progresses so beautifully that every chapter is more interesting than the next.

The villain of the story, the morbid 'Puppetmaster' has been so skillfully crafted that every letter gives you chills.

As if this wasn't enough, the story perfectly portrays war and it's victims, and shows that it isn't Kingdoms or countries that are evil, but it is war itself that it. The hidden jabs at terrorism, racism, and sexism are also seen throughout the book as the main character, the strong-willed and fierce Queen Nila battles with the people trying to put her down while keeping enthralling secrets in order to protect the ones she loves.

Whether it is the sweet Lady Jia, the bubbly Lady Sati, the kind Lord Sagara and King Bahati, or the handsome and mysterious Prince Jua, each character offers their own set of problems and contributions to the plot of the story.

Overall, this enthralling story is a must-read and is one of my favorites.

Final Rating: 9.5/10
