Previously on Chapter 34

"Yeah... that's plenty..." he whispered, tightening his arms around me. He buries his face in the crook of my neck as I wrap my arms around his neck. I can feel his hopeful emotion. I really hope it's going to work and we can save Mirai.

-Tearful Reunion-

Y/N P.O.V

Senku, Tsukasa and I make our way inside the cave. Senku will be the one to make the revival fluid. I just stand next to Tsukasa, with him holding my hand. I can see Senku glancing at our entwined hand. But I didn't say anything, to avoid making things awkward for the three of us.

Senku finally finishes making the revival fluid. He pours it inside a glass flask. He turns his head to look at Tsukasa, who gives him a curt nod. We turn around and make our way outside the cave.

Tsukasa slowly leads me towards Ukyo, who just got his injury bandaged up. He turns to look at the two of us. Tsukasa offers a hand that isn't holding mine. Ukyo grabs his hand, letting Tsukasa pulls him up to his feet.

We walk through the stone path. I walk in silence, next to Tsukasa. My hand is held by him, as we walk. I hear Nikki makes a comment about Tsukasa having a little sister.

"Why do you decided to do such horrible thing?" I hear Ukyo asked, who's walking behind us. Tsukasa is silent for a few seconds, and turn my head to look at him. He give my hand a light squeeze.

"Horrible..." he started. I can hear the sadness in his voice. Over the time of knowing Tsukasa, I notice his true feelings. He was troubled to destroy the statues. But he push himself forward and do his actions.

"That may be... but can you guarantee that we'd have an unlimited amount of revival fluid? It is necessary to select the ones to live. Playing God is a hard and sinful thing to do. So I decided to take that burden. What about you, Ukyo? If you woke up alone in the stone world, and you learned of the existence of the revival fluid. Who would you choose?" He said. I turn my head slightly to look at Ukyo, who just stays silent. He looks down, without saying anything back. I turn to look forward and keeps walking.

We eventually come to a stop after a while. "This is where the hospital was" Tsukasa said. I look around the place, only seeing trees and empty lands. There was no sign of statues, letting me know they might be buried deep under the ground.

"We'll just mine them using dynamite" Senku said. I turn to look at him in disbelief. "You've got to be kidding me. You'll just ended up destroying the statues" I said. He turns to look at me and chuckles.

"If we do ended up destroying the statues, oh well, we'll just piece them back together!" He said. I just shake my head, sweat-dropping at his comment. I turn my head and notice Yuzuriha looking pale. She fist Senku's shoulder.

"And who will do the hellish work, Senku-Kun? Please!" She said. I give her a pity smile. I let out a sigh. There's no other option. Trying to dig them up manually would take a lot of time.

We move away to safety as they start to use a few of the dynamite sticks. I wince at the sound, covering my ears as an attempt to lower down the noise. But I can still hear it loud and clear. I wonder how Ukyo would feel with his insanely good hearing.

I stand next to Tsukasa and dig the ground near him. We might have created some deep dents with all the dynamites we've used. But we have no idea where Mirai is. So, this is going to take a while.

Time-skip

I hear Tsukasa letting out a soft gasp. I turn my head to look at him as he dig the ground with his hands. I walk towards him and helps him. My eyes widened a little when a familiar face shows up.

"Mirai..." Tsukasa said, a soft smile on his face. I can  hear the happiness in his voice as he looks relieved to see his sister's face. Soon, we'd be able to see her awake once again. I truly hope the revival fluid will heal her damaged brain.

I smile happily and throws my arms around his neck. He instantly returns the embrace, with his arms around my waist. "We found her, Tsukasa..." I said. He nods his head as he buries his face in my hair.

I pull away and smiles at him. Tsukasa digs up the rest of Mirai's body from the ground. She's still in the same position as the last time I saw her. Both of her eyes are closed.

Senku kneels down next to Mirai's body, uncapping the flask. "Wait, Senku! Mirai-Chan's naked!" Taiju said, poking Senku in his eyes. I wince at the sound of Senku's cry of pain. That looked and sounded so painful.

Senku kneels down as he places his hands in his eyes as an attempt to ease the pain. "There we go again with your stupid comment. We're in the stone world. No one is going to care if you're butt is showing or if your dick is hanging out. We're also in some kind of an emergency here. Let's figure things out after we revive her" he said.

"Is this about the right size?" Yuzuriha said, while holding up a dress. My eyes widened in shock at her. When did she even... well, whatever. I know how she is when it comes to crafting.

Yuzuriha puts on the dress on Mirai as Senku waits by the fire. I kneel down next to Yuzuriha, watching as she care for the little girl. She turns to look at me and smiles softly. I nod my head at her.

"Senku... she's ready" Yuzuriha said, turning to look at the scientist. Senku stands up from his spot and walks towards Mirai. He pours the liquid onto her body.

I move to stand next to Tsukasa. He slips his hand in mine. I can feel his hand slightly tense. I turn to look at him. He focus on Mirai's. I turn to look at Mirai and closes my eyes, starting to pray that the healing effect would wake her up.

'Please... heal Mirai like it did to Senku's neck. Let Tsukasa have his sister back. I don't want him to go through what I did...' I said, in my mind. I open my eyes as I hear the sound of stone cracking.

My eyes widen as Mirai opens her eyes. Her hands are outstretched as she walks forward, stumbling a little. Tsukasa quickly rushes towards her, grabbing her hands.

She looks around, looking confused. "Where... am I?" She said. I smile softly at the sound of her voice. "Mirai..." Tsukasa said, in a soft tone. Mirai turns to look at her brother.

"Nii-Chan?" She said. Tsukasa stares at her with his teary eyes. Mirai let out a soft giggle. "You've gotten old, but you look good though. How long have I been asleep?" She asked. Tsukasa quickly embraces her.

"It's been 6... no, it's been thousands of years, Mirai" he said. I watch as tears starts to stream down his cheeks, as he embraces his sister tightly. I let out a happy laugh.

"Welcome back, Mirai..." I said, in a soft tone. She pulls away from her brother and turn to look at me. "I don't know you... but your voice sounds familiar" she said. Tsukasa gestures me to come closer. I walk forward and kneels down next to him.

"This is Y/N. She's your caretaker for when you were asleep..." he said, gently wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "Hello, Mirai..." I said, smiling softly at her. She smiles at me.

"Thank you for looking after me, Nee-San. Say, are you and Nii-Chan... dating?" She asked, noticing how close we are. I blink in surprise at her question. For a little girl, she seems quite observant.

I can feel my cheeks starting to burn at what she said. I turn to look at Tsukasa, who chuckles and places a hand on my head. He pulls me closer, placing a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Yes, Mirai... she's my girlfriend" he said, making me blush even more. Tsukasa didn't even bother to try and hide it from such a young girl. Mirai smiles at me, gleefully. She walks towards me, wrapping her arms around my waist.

"Please take care of my brother, Nee-San" she said. I smile softly and returns her embrace. She snuggles closer to me. I can feel my eyes tearing up. She truly reminds me of S/N.

I tighten my arms around her, sniffling softly. Mirai pulls away to look at me. "Why are you crying, Nee-San?" She asked. I just shake my head, and wipe my tears.

"It's nothing... you just remind me of my little sister. She's about your age. But... I lost her. If she's still here, I'm confident that the two of you would be the best of friends" I said. She frowns at what I said and wraps her arms around me again. I just smile softly to myself. I close my eyes as I return her embrace.
