Previously on Chapter 25

I still love Senku... even though he hurt me and broke my heart. I don't know if I can let go of that feelings anytime soon. Much less... open my heart to Tsukasa who attempted to kill Senku that day. So I shouldn't think too much about it.

-I Can Treat You Better-

Y/N P.O.V

I'm sitting next to Yuzuriha. She's teaching me how to sew some clothes for the new people Tsukasa will be reviving for his army. I didn't know sewing could be so much fun.

"Help!!" Someone yelled out. I jump at the sudden voice. I turn my head to see a group of people. They are carrying a man. I quickly stand up and rush to them.

"What happened?" I asked. One of them turn to look at me. "We were trying to catch some deers. But this guy gets caught up in one of the trap we've created" he said. I turn my head to look at the injured man. I kneel down next to him. I notice a deep gash on the side of his calve. He keeps groaning in pain.

"Take him to that cave... put some pressure on the wound to control the bleeding. I'll go to my cave and grab some herbs that I've collected" I said. They nod their heads and pick up their friend. I stand up and rush towards my cave. I start to go through all the collection of herbs I've been collecting in case a situation like this happens.

I check through the herb I've grabbed, making sure I have everything I need. I give myself a quick nod once I know I have everything. I rush towards the cave where the injured man is.

"Okay. Remove the cloth. Let me check the wound. Someone go and grab me some clean cloths and a clay full of clean water" I said. One of them quickly move into action. While I start to grind the herbs to make some paste.

The man comes back holding the items I requested. "Thank you... the wound is quite deep. We're going to need to stitch it up. Unfortunately, we have no time to make an anesthetic. Do you think you can handle the pain?" I said, turning to look at the man. He gulps at what I said and nod his head.

"Everyone... hold him down. No matter how hard he tries to trash, don't let go" I said. Everyone start to do what I said. I grab a needle and thread. I give an encouraging nod to the man. He just nods his head. I start to stitch the wound. He let out a scream but I keep going.

A while later, I finished stitching up his wound. I wipe my hand with clean cloth. I turn to look at the man and smile softly. I give his shoulder a gentle pat.

"You've done so well..." I said, still smiling. I turn and grab the paste. I start to apply it on the wound. I wrap it with bandage afterwards. I turn to the man and smiles once again.

"This herb mixture will help numb the pain. I'll check your wound every 2 hours and change the bandage. You'll be fine..." I said. He smiles at me. "Thank you, Y/N-Sama..." he said. I blink in surprise at what he said.

"A... ah... no need for such honorifics. Just call me Y/N is fine" I said. He smiles sheepishly at what I said. "I can't do that... it would be disrespectful for me to address you like that" he said. I shake my head. "No it wouldn't..." I said.

"But aren't you Tsukasa-San's woman?" He asked. I stare at him in shock. "W-What?" I stuttered out. He starts to panic at my reaction.

"I-I'm sorry... I thought" he stuttered. I just shake my head. "I... It's okay. Your comment just caught me off guard" I said. I hear footsteps coming closer and turn my head to see Tsukasa entering the cave.

"I heard what happened. Are you okay?" He said. He didn't seem to hear what the man previously said. I just turn to look at the man. "I'm fine... Y/N-Sama have treated my wound" he said. Tsukasa turns to me and nod his head. I just give him a smile. I move to stand up.

"You should rest, okay? Don't put weight on your injured leg for a while" I said. He nods his head. "Thank you again, Y/N-Sama..." he said. I hold myself not to cringe at the honorific and smile at him. I turn around and walks out of the cave.

I just finished changing the bandage of the injured man. "The wound is drying well... but still, don't put too much weight on it. Here, I made you a crutches to help you move around" I said, while placing the crutches by the wall.

"Thank you..." he said. I smile at him and stand up. I make my way out of the cave and bumps into a hard chest. I let out a yelp as I fall backward. A hand is quick to grab mine before I could fall over. I look up to see Tsukasa.

"Oh, hey, Tsukasa. I just finished changing the man's bandage" I said. He hums and nods his head. "Walk with me?" He said. I just smile and nod my head. He gestures me come along. I just quietly walk next to him. I don't know where he's going to take me. But I don't ask anything, just follows him.

Tsukasa ends up bringing me to a flower field. I take a seat on the grass. "I'm surprised there's still some flower field. We're already entering winter..." I said. Tsukasa just smiles at what I said.

"Yeah... not everything is covered in snow yet..." he said. I just smile and look around the place. I turn to look at the flowers and grin. I walk towards them and start to grab some.

I start working on making a flower crown. I turn my head and notice Tsukasa observing every move. "Is there something wrong? Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked, with my hands still working on the flowers.

"Nothing... it's just fascinating the way you look so focus on making the flower crown" he said. I start to blush at what he said. I look away from him, keeping my attention on the flower crown.

Once it's done, I turn to look at Tsukasa. "Do you... mind?" I asked. He tilt his head slightly. "What?" He said. I gesture the flower crown to him. He let out a chuckle and moves a little closer towards me, with his head bend forward a little. I smile softly at him, and place the flower crown on his head.

"You look good, Tsukasa..." I said. He place a hand on the flower crown and chuckles. "Thanks" he said. I move near the tree and leans my back against it. I stare at the sky above us.

"Hey, Y/N..." he said. I turn to look at him. "Yeah?" I responded. He turns to look at me. He slowly reach out, gently grabbing my hand. I stare at his hand for a bit, and turn to look at him.

"I know that you're still hurting after Senku broke your heart. But, he doesn't deserve you. You deserve so much better. I can treat you better than he can..." he said. I just stare at him, not knowing what to say. He gently caresses the back of my hand.

"I can prove it to you. I can protect you... and keep you safe. I can make you happy. If you'd just give me a chance. I promise..." he said. He lift my hand and place it against his chest.

"I love you, Y/N... I've always been in love with you. That's why it hurts me, when you said you wished you'd never met me... and that you wished you don't know me that day, when I 'killed' Senku" he said. I recall that day, and remember how hurt and sad he looks.

Flashback

I cradled Senku in my arms, with his eyes devoid of life. I turned to look at Tsukasa. My eyes filled with hatred and anger directed towards him.

"How could you do this?! Why?? Why'd you have to do something like this, Tsukasa. And how do you know that it's a painful death?! You're not the one experiencing it... you're an evil person, Tsukasa... I wish I never know you!!" I said, angrily as my tears kept on falling from my eyes. The sound of Taiju's and Yuzuriha's crying can still be heard as I screamed at Tsukasa.

Through my tears. I could see his eyes widened a little at what I said. I could see his eyes tearing up a little, but he seem to hold himself from crying. But I couldn't care less because he just killed the man that I love.

End of Flashback

"Y/N..." Tsukasa said, snapping me out of my daze. I blink my eyes and turn to look at him. He stares at me with a pleading gaze. "Can you please give me a chance?" He said.

I look away from him, removing my hand from his hold. "I... I need some time to think, Tsukasa. I'm scared to get hurt again" I said. I feel a hand on the side of my cheek. He gently turns my head to look at him.

"I understand, Y/N. Take all the time you'd need. I will wait for you" he said, smiling softly at me. I just stare at him. He leans down and place a soft kiss on my forehead, letting his lips linger on my skin. I just close my eyes.

Senku never acted this way towards me. He's never acted so gentle. Tsukasa is completely different. He showed that he truly care. But am I ready to open my heart again after having it broken? Can I give him a chance?
