Chapter 3 : Change
Naruto was busy planning a presentation for work, typing away on his laptop, a little tried after starting at the screen for so long.
A cup of coffee was placed next to his laptop on the table in front of him.
He felt familiar comforting arms wrap around his shoulders from behind.
He felt himself giggle and look back at the raven who was smiling at him lovingly.
So silent.
Ah, he's gonna wake up soon.
Just as he thought this he had woken up.
It was a Sunday morning and he woke up too early.
He sighed, for the past month ever since he started having lunch with Sasuke, even when he'd dream of the future like this he'd feel a little better thinking he'd get to have lunch with him in school.
But today being Sunday meant there's no school and no Sasuke to have lunch with.
He almost felt like crying.
He facepalmed at his own embarrassing thoughts.
Trying to ignore the loneliness he felt as he went to freshen up, he headed downstairs to have breakfast.
He greeted his parents who were already in the kitchen/dinning room and sat on the chair in front of his father's.
His mother (Kushina) was talking about how she was planning to go out shopping with Mikoto-san excitedly and his father (Minato) was listening to her rant with a loving smile on his face.
He suddenly felt very jealous of his parents and pouted.
His father seemed to notice his mood get darker and asked him what was up with him.
To which Naruto simply shook his head, still sulking.
He couldn't ignore the thoughts of missing Sasuke anymore.
Ahh! I miss him so much!
He longed to get a glimpse of him, he had no idea how he'd managed to live 16 years of his life before he met Sasuke.
Always dreaming those happy future memories, didn't really help much cause he woke up too soon and felt even more lonely.
He sulked more.
His mother gave him a smothering hug from behind and gave a sloppy kiss on his cheek, "What's my cute baby sulking about~?"
"Ugh! Stop!", he tried to get away from the smothering hug but Kushina was stronger than she looked and wasn't about to let her son have his way.
After quite a bit of struggling and Minato's interruption, the two loud-mouths of the house, finally quietened down.
Kushina sat down next to her son after setting the food on the table and said in a caring voice, "Did you have a dream again?"
Naruto hadn't talked in detail about his dreams with his parents but they knew he would get shaken up now n then after having a dream.
Naruto looked down at his food, nodding.
Kushina ruffled his hair in an attempt to comfort her son.
"How about you join mommy and go shopping today then?", she tried to cheer him up.
Naruto wouldn't have considered it normally but knowing that Mikoto-san is Sasuke's mother, changes things a little.
"Uh.. Actually, do you think it would okay to go to Mikoto-san's house?", he asked hesitantly.
"Ah! You were pretty close with her younger son when they still lived next door, weren't you? Do you still remember maybe?", she smiled, excitedly ranting away.
"Yeah, no, I actually don't remember, but he's my classmate now and I recognized his surname..", he trailed off, a little nervous to be talking about Sasuke with his parents.
"Sasuke-kun is in your class?", she seemed a little shocked.
He nodded, chewing on a mouthful of food.
"Ohmygosh, seriously?! You refused to tag along with me and hang out with him before, saying you hate him for moving away and what not! But now you're classmates?! What is this? destiny?! So cute! What a coincidence!! I have got to tell Miko-chan about this!", and she rushed off without even finishing her food to call Mikoto-san.
Minato hurriedly followed after his excited wife to get her to finish eating her food first.
And Naruto was left there, looking completely stunned.
He had no idea he'd refused to go hang out with Sasuke when he was younger.
He wanted to go back in time and stop his younger self for doing such a stupid thing.
Ugh! Stupid younger me~
He groaned.
After just a few minutes, his mother announced that they'd be going over to the Uchiha's house earlier than she'd planned to.
And before long, he was ready and set to go to the Uchiha's house, along with his mother.
He was nervous to say the least.
Kushina found it too cute that her son was so nervous and teased him a lot the rest of the way there.
After reaching, they were welcomed by Mikoto-san and she told that her older son (Itachi) and her husband (Fugoku) were both suddenly called in for work, due to a sudden mix-up.
Well, it was Fugoku-san who was called in and Itachi had volunteered to help him out.
And surprisingly, Sasuke was still asleep, it was around 10AM now and the raven was still soundly asleep.
Well, Naruto usually woke up around 10 or so himself during sundays and holidays in general.
It just so happend that he ended up awake too early because of that dream today.
But it was still a little unexpected nonetheless to find out that Sasuke was the type to sleep in too.
So he chuckled to himself, when he heard Sasuke was still sleeping in his room.
Mikoto-san and his mother, both looked at him and smiled.
He composed himself immediately when he noticed their gazes.
He heard Mikoto-san say, in a pleasant voice, "Why don't you go and try to wake him up? He totally ignored me and fell back asleep, maybe he'll listen to you instead", she chuckled.
Naruto blushed at the thought of waking him up and refused very adamantly.
Just then Sasuke entered the living room they were seated in, looking very sleepy and with a bedhead.
Why's he so good looking even with a bedhead...
Naruto just stared.
And Sasuke looked surprised to see guests in his living room so early in the morning.
Feeling a little awkward about being seen in his messy appearance, he was about to apologize and excuse himself, when he notices a familiar blonde seated on the couch.
"Ah-", he looks at the blonde with a startled look.
The two mothers' who seemed to have found his reaction amusing were chuckling silently.
After Mikoto explained to her son that Kushina was a close friend of hers and Naruto was Kushina's son who Sasuke was very close to when they were living next door to the Uzumaki's 10 years ago.
Soon after giving a gist of the situation, the two ladies left the boys alone in the house and skipped away to go shopping.
Sasuke looked at Naruto, his hand busy trying to straighten out his bedhair.
"Uh.. I still need to go freshen up, do you mind waiting a bit?", he asked awkwardly, this situation was too unexpected so the raven was having trouble taking it all in.
Naruto shook his head, "Not at all, take your time!", and exclaimed, all the while internally panicking big time to have been left alone in this house with Sasuke.
Sasuke chuckled, thankful he wasn't the only one who was rattled up by this.
"Make yourself at home", he said with a smile, feeling more relaxed than before.
Naruto blushed and nodded. Taking a seat on the couch and feeling hella out of it.
But..
I'm.. So.. Happy~~~
He couldn't stop grinning.
Sasuke came back, sooner than expected and asked him if he wanted to join him for breakfast.
Naruto ended up agreeing without thinking much.
He was honestly still full from the breakfast he'd eaten back home, but he was still happy to be eating with Sasuke.
"Want another serving?", Sasuke questioned him after they were done.
Naruto shook his head, "No, thanks", his stomach would seriously pop open if he ate anymore than this.
It was different, from the time they had lunch in school.
He liked this more.
He smiled, offering to help Sasuke clean up.
Sasuke politly accepted.
He wasn't thinking much when he offered to help but standing so close to the raven was making him very nervous now.
"They'll definitely come back late", he heard the raven say, while scrubbing a plate.
"Ah.. Yeah, they were so excited, they're probably having a lot of fun", he replied with light smile, drying the washed plate with a cloth.
"Jealous..?", Sasuke smirked, glancing at him.
Naruto chuckled, "Not really, but I do want to go out too"
"Then you're jealous.. You could've joined them", Sasuke teased him.
Naruto pouted, "I'd rather go out with a friend too, thank you very much"
"Haha, is that so? Are you the outdoor type?", Sasuke asked as he laughed.
"Well, maybe a little, but I like being indoors too, what about you?", he was actually guessing that Sasuke was a total indoors type, who rarely steped out of the house and only when absolutely necessary.
"Indoors, no doubts there, and I hate crowded places the most", he cringed thinking about it.
Naruto chuckled, "called it, you look like you'd hate being involved with people in general"
"You know me so well already", he said, chuckling.
They were done with cleaning up soon and headed upstairs to Sasuke's room.
Naruto was looking around curiously, making Sasuke smirk at him.
"There's nothing here for you to look around so much", he chuckled and shot him a teasing smirk.
Naruto blushed, "It's my first time here, I was just curious!"
Sasuke laughed at his cute reactions, "You're welcome here anytime, make yourself at home"
Naruto's heart skipped a beat at that.
Anytime..?
"So I can come again..?", he thought out loud unintentionally.
Sasuke tilted his head, genuinely confused, "Of course..? Why are you even asking that?", he laughed.
Naruto blushed but smiled nonetheless, too happy that he could meet his raven whenever he wanted from now on.
They were closer now but Naruto still seemed a little awkward with him at times.
How cute..
Sasuke didn't mind it though. How could he? when he found those reactions so very endearing. He was starting to really like this cute blonde.
