Chapter 1 : Classmates

Naruto walked up the stairs that led to his assigned classroom.

Still looking around unintentionally, trying to spot that raven.

He doesn't remember a thing that was said during the entrance ceremony all because he was busy looking around for the raven, just like he is now.

He entered his classroom with a couple of others and noticed that the ones who were dismissed earlier than himself were already all seated or stood around chatting.

After looking around the classroom and still failing to find the raven he was desperately wishing to meet again, he sighed and walked towards the board that displayed the seating arrangement.

He checked for his name on the board and found it at the very end.  It was a last row seat, at the back of the class room, next to the window.

Perfect.

He was about to walk away but did a double check when he noticed the name that was right next to his own.

Uchiha Sasuke. Why did it feel so familiar..?

Ah! The Uchihas' house was right next to their house before the Uchihas moved away to another neighborhood.

He remembered the Uchiha surname because his mother was very close friends with Mrs. Uchiha Mikoto and still kept in touch with her - in fact she talked too much about her.

He did vaguely remember playing with a kid his own age when they still lived next door. But he was around 4 to 5 years old then, so he couldn't remember what the kid looked like anymore.

He distractedly walked to his seat, trying to remember the kid. He looked to his side as he sat down, looking past the empty seat that belonged to said Uchiha and offhandedly wondered what the group of guys who stood past the seat were laughing so loudly about.

'Should I try to mingle with them..?'

All his thoughts about trying to join in on their conversation were abruptly cut off when a familiar raven invaded his line of sight, casually taking a seat next to his own.

He gaped, shocked at the fact that the raven, his saviour from this morning, his future lover who he'd dreamt so much about, was actually his childhood playmate..?!

You have gotta be kidding me...

The raven, Uchiha Sasuke, seemed to notice his stares and gave him a raised eyebrow look, seeming slightly annoyed.

Naruto blushed, embarrassed to be caught staring and immediately looked away.

It was a little weird to see him in real life, he seemed too different from the one he's used to dreaming about. But he guessed that was only natural cause his most recent dreams that stood out in his memories are all of 10 years in the future from now - or sometimes even more.

He layed his head down on the desk, hands positioned around his head trying to cover his face. He tried to stealthily steal a glance at the raven next to him.

He couldn't help but grin. He may look younger and more broody than the older version in his dream who always smiled lovingly at him but he was definitely the same raven he'd always dreamt about.

Woah.. He's beautiful...

He blushed at his own thoughts, hidding his face and feeling mortified.

All throughout the classes he couldn't help but steal glances at the raven.

And as soon as the bell rang, signaling the start of break time, Naruto nervously approached the raven with his packed lunch in hand.

"Hey-", tried to call out only to be interrupted by a bunch of girls that were now showering the raven with all sorts of questions all at once.

Wahhh...

He couldn't help but sweatdrop at the scene unfolding before him.

Well, it was understandable why they were so eager to befriend him though.

The raven was too stunningly good looking after all.

Naruto scratched the back of his head, a little dissapointed that he didn't get a chance to talk to him. But decided it's best to just go have his lunch in a quieter place and walked out of the classroom.

He did contemplate for a moment about whether or not he should try and mingle with some other classmates but most of them had already grouped up and he just felt awkward to go intrude on them now.

And so he found himself climbing up the stairs and stopping right in front of the door that led to the roof. As expected it was locked.

He sighed and decided to sit on the staircase in front of the door.

He was about to start eating his lunch when he heard someone's footsteps climbing up the stairs.

And soon noticed a familiar raven head poke out.

He dropped the rice he'd picked up with his chopsticks, which fell back into his box, leaving him gaping wide eyed at the raven that now stood at the bottom of the stairs - very comically might I add.

Said raven seemed a little conflicted before he sighed and seemed to make up his mind to sit on a stair couple of steps below the stair that Naruto was sitting on.

And promptly started having his own lunch.

Naruto who had no idea what to do at the moment, just quietly ate the food in the box but since his thoughts were on overdrive, he couldn't make out the taste of the food, whatsoever.

So.. So awkward..!

In his dreams, even though it was always so very silent, it never felt awkward.

The gap between his dreams and real life was hitting him hard.

He sighed, unable to finish his lunch and just packed away the half-eaten lunch box.

He wanted to get up and leave cause the raven might have been feeling the awkwardness too, and honestly he didn't want to make him feel that way.

But he wondered if it would appear rude if he just got up and left.

So he awkwardly cleared his throat and politly stated, "I'm done.. So I'm leaving first"

Awkward! This is too awkward!!

Sasuke glanced back at the blonde who had suddenly announced his departure and looked visibly confused as to why he was telling him this, but replied nonetheless, "...Sure..?", which sounded more like a question.

The first conversation Naruto had with his future lover is this, folks!

So mortifying..!!!

Naruto hurried down the stairs and cussed at himself for being so damn dumb. He wanted to bury himself alive for real right about now.

Nooooo..!

After arriving back to the class, for the rest of the day in school he couldn't bring himself to look towards the raven.

Sasuke on the other hand glanced towards the blonde that still looked a little mortified, and wondered curiously what it was all about.

He noticed how the blonde was looking at him through out the morning classes and felt a little annoyed at the persistent glances, but after seeing him looking visibly mortified right after lunch, he figured the blonde was just trying to start up a conversation with him or something but ended up failing miserably at it.

He smiled to himself, wondering what made the blonde feel that awkward to just start a casual conversation.

Cute..

He was starting to get a little interested in this awkward lil cute blonde.

Naruto hurried back home right after the classes and still feeling extremely mortified, wondering why he had to be so awkward and give the worst first impression.

He wondered if his dreams were ever going to become a reality at this rate. Even though he knows that it's his future that he dreams of, he couldn't help but feel if he keeps messing up like this he might end up changing said future for the worse.

He sighed, not knowing how to go about this and feeling completely clueless.
