Chapter One
Christine sighed, stretching as she cracked her back. Her cart was getting slightly heavy to push around and she knew she should start paying soon. She begrudgingly made her way to the checkout counter, about to turn a corner when her cart slammed into another.
Christine gasped, her eyes wide as she stared at the male in front of her. His blonde hair was sleeked back, his blue eyes wide in alarm. He wore an oversized sweater, the neck stretched to the point where it looked like it was about to break. His jeans hung loosely on his frame, the only thing keeping them up was a belt.
"I'm so sorry!" The women could feel her face warming, her cheeks turning a very tinted pink color.
The male just laughed, reaching up and rubbing the back of his head. "It's alright. It's partially my fault as well."
He grinned at her, his arm outstretched as he waited for her to shake his hand. "Nick Harland."
Christine took his hand, shaking it so he wouldn't be left hanging. "Christine Frensco."
"Well, Christine, may a nice gentleman like me be allowed to bring you for some coffee after this?"
Christine rose her eyebrows, analyzing the man in front of her. She didn't know what she supposed to say, what if this was her one chance to date a hot man? If she ruined it she would never be able to live it down.
So she accepted the offer, going out to coffee with the man she had met by slamming her shopping cart into.
Christine and Nick dated for four months before he finally decided the women he loved deserved to know what he really was. He needed to know if she would stay; no matter what.
Nick had lead Christine to a park, making sure there was no one around before he changed into his true form. His face turned into hat of a wolfs, his nose lengthen until it formed a snout. His eyes turned to small slits and the beep blue deemed to darken if that was possible. His fur turned a light brown, tints of small blonde hair in various spots along with white fur.
Christine was shocked, her eyes wide with fear but also with understanding. She didn't care who this man was, she loved him and that was the end of that. She wanted to start a life with him, one where they had a ton of children and moved out somewhere where no one could bother them. So, yes, she was afraid but she would stay.
That night was the turning point, and one month later, Christine woke up like any other normal day. She had been getting ready for school, already running late when she felt the sudden urge to throw up. She ran, knowing she wasn't going to make it and instead let her whole dinner out in the garbage can.
She frowned, calling in sick to the school before she just laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. Her mind recalled the memory of her and Nick finally deciding they were ready and she gasped, her first thought being that Nick had somehow given her a disease.
With a shake of her head and after she had pulled her brown hair up into a bun, she set off towards the store. Her money was clutched tightly in her hand and she was actually quite scared.
Christine's mother hadn't been around and therefore the girl had never learned about the properties of actually being one. She could have gone to her older sister who was a mother of seven but she felt like it was to much and wanted to wait.
Christine was horrified when she got the results, taking at least ten pregnancy tests just to make sure. Nick handled the news with great ease, excited that he would be able to finally start a family with the love of his life.
He already planned that they would move out of their small apartment, going to a house in the country where there would be plenty of room to raise multiple children.
Christine spent the next eight months developing strategies and reading about natural births. She was terrified that the baby would come out looking like wolves, this resulting in her and Nick delivering the babies themselves.
Leah and Dana were born in the middle of July on a hot summer day. They were healthy twins girl and both of them were absolutely quiet during the night. Christine and Nick were relieved, happy they wouldn't have to stay up all night just to take care of two very stubborn babies.
Leah was a loud-mouthed girl who never seemed to stop eating yet never gained a single pound. Dana was much more different, she rarely ate and even when she did she was fussy.
On year later, the twins still rapidly growing, Christine was pregnant with another child. Nick was secretly hoping that it wouldn't be another girl, wanting a son that he would be able to do manly things with. He was getting very frustrated with playing with ponies and dolls.
Nick was working overtime when Christine went into labor. He was working harder so they could move out of the horrible apartment which was being quite small. Since Christine was alone and the twins were sleeping, she delivered the baby by herself.
She had never done something more difficult in her life.
Nick arrived home later that night, his boss not letting him leave until every single thing was done. His wife was sleeping on the bed, a newborn baby boy wrapped tightly in a blue blanket sleeping soundly next to her. He glanced around, grinning when he saw both his now year old little girls curled up on their own bed, thumbs in their mouths.
The story once again fast forewards to a year later, Christine close to being five months pregnant with their forth child. Nick had left earlier, saying he was working an extra job. Christine noticed his wallet on the counter and frowned, wondering where he could have gone without his wallet.
She ignored the bad thoughts swarming throughout her head as the rain pelted on the windows outside. The twins were happily eating the oatmeal she had made them and Randy was fast asleep in his mothers arms.
Nick should have been home by then, rushing into his wife's loving arms to take Randy away from her.
Christine grabbed her phone when it started ringing and answered it without checking the ID. "Nick?"
"I'm sorry Christine, I'm not Nick. There's been an accident and Nick. . . he's gone."
Christine stood there, her eyes wide as she sat down on the coach. "What do you mean? He's just coming home, right?"
"I'm so sorry for your loss, Christine."

hi everyone! as you can see, this is the first chapter for this book! i know a lot happened in this chapter and it seems kinda rushed but i'm just trying to get to the main story. <3
yes, this movie is based on the beautiful movie called The Wolf Children. So, if you haven't seen that movie I advise you to watch it in either Japanese(with subtitles fox course) or in English!
I personally like the Japanese one better because there's so much more emotion. (:
