It was time to go, and we cried as though
We had known each other forever.
We promised, this trip, that formed this friendship,
Was one we would always remember.

It felt empty in the airport, as they made their way to the flight that would take them home.

They knew that their friends would be visiting them half a year later, yet they wished that their stay had lasted longer.

She sat beside her classmates, as they talked and played little games together. She knew that this trip had been a beautiful opportunity, especially for her to grow as a human being. Not only had she connected with students from a different country, but she had also grown closer to her own classmates, forging friendships that she hoped would last a lifetime.

On the flight back home, she slept, contented in the fact that she had friends- on her side, as well as, on the other side of the world.

She was truly grateful for everything, and she could not wait to get home and share her experiences with her parents.
