♠Palette x Goth 1/2
Just to clarify this is pretty much the PJ's daycare-
Oh and Palette's going to change by the way-
I was actually planning it to be more darker but decided not to-
Third Person POV
Angexci sighed sadly, rubbing their forehead as they took a deep breath.
"Palette, dear? Can you come here for a minute?" They shakily called out, 'He's definitely not going to like this.'
Soft and fast footsteps could be heard throughout the silent home as the cheery skeleton came to his parent with a little smile.
Oh how they hated to wipe that smile off their face and take away the happy aura from him.
"Yes Mom?" He asked as he sat down and faced his mother, though seeing their sad expression he gave a worried look.
"We're moving."
Crack-
"W-what...?" He asked surprised as his smile was gone, looking at Angexci in confusion.
"Or more like, you're the one that's moving." Palette frowned as he saw his mother with tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry sweetie but they're going to take you to this school, it was years ago but I never wanted you to stay there at such a young age."
The skeleton stayed silent as he placed a hand on their shoulder, urging them to continue.
"You were placed there by your father since he wanted you to become our protecter, he was becoming weak and died before you were born. I was lonely so they agreed that you would be with me until you turned twelve."
"But it felt like you weren't ready! And I just don't want to see that smile get taken away so I begged for three more years, and now that you're fifteen..."
Palette nodded slowly as he wiped away the tears in his sockets, if this was what his dad wanted then he'll do it.
"It's okay Mom, I understand." He said softly as he brought them into a hug.
Maybe this could help him forget about Goth, he had Cray anyway.
And maybe even get rid of the pain in his soul.
"Hey I'm back and I-" He stopped his sentence as he looked at the two in shock.
It was Goth and Cray.
Kissing.
He let out a dry chuckle as he dropped the two cans of soda, tears swelled in his sockets.
"Heh, at least you're happy!"
He left leaving the two cans behind as you can see what was on them.
'I love U~♥ '
'Be mine♥ '
As he walked back home all he could feel was pain. As if someone decided to make his soul relax and be covered with warmth.
Then stab it with a thousand knives and leave it in the cold.
"A-are you sure...?" Angexci pulled away as she softly gripped on Palette's cheeks, sniffling a bit.
"I'm going to make dad proud and get stronger in order to protect the ones I love." He said as he made an unspoken promise.
Next day...
The skeleton sighed as he walked to PJ's daycare, he had a gym bag over his shoulder as he wore a black turtleneck and blue jeans.
Angexci told him that bright colors don't really fit in well with the school so this is what he wore instead.
Before the once cheery skeleton knew it he was already in front of the building, taking a deep breath before heading inside.
"Palette! There you are!" Goth smiled as he saw him and walked towards him with an annoyed Cray following behind.
"Why are you late? PJ got a bi- Woah what's with the new getup?" Goth asked as Cray seemed a bit interested as well.
Palette shrugged and gripped the strap tighter, "I'll explain later, where's PJ?" He muttered with an emotionless and bored tone.
Goth's small smile seemed to falter as he looked surprised.
Even Cray was shocked, this was not the annoying, hyperactive rival he knew.
"H-he's in the kitchen, making some snacks for the kids." Goth pointed his thumb to the kitchen as Palette nodded in thanks.
He was about to go there when Dream and Blue came up to him with a smile. "Mr. Palette!" The two shouted his name with glee.
Before he could even process what they shouted he was suddenly tackled to the ground by the two.
"Where were you?!" The skeleton stared at the two kids in shock before shaking his head as he sat up.
"I was just... Taking my time." Palette mumbled as he pet Blue and Dream's skull. "I need to talk to Mr. PJ first, then we can play! Is that alright?"
The two seemed to brighten up as they got off his lap, watching him make his way into the kitchen.
Palette's POV
I sighed as PJ noticed me and went up to me with a concerned look, "There you are! You had me-"
He cut his self off when he got a good look at my expression, "Is there something wrong?"
I nodded as I took out some papers, "I... Can't be a Caretaker anymore..."
Paperjam took the papers and read them before looking at Palette with a mixture of shock and sadness.
"Did something happen...?" I stayed silent before tearing up, quickly wiping them away, "I'm moving to a far away place."
"W-what? Hehe, that's a funny joke Pallete." Once he realized I was serious he dropped his smile as he looked sad.
"You're serious... Aren't you...?" I have him a nod as he sighed, rubbing his face.
"When are you going to leave?" I froze, I never really thought that he would ask that question but I collected myself and answered.
"Later, may I have one last request though?" He ushered for me to continue as I took a deep breath.
"Tell them that one day I might come back but don't let them expect for me to return as the same old me."
PJ looked a bit confused but nodded nonethless, giving me a little hug before pushing me out.
"Go, spend some time with Goth and the kids and make it last, I'm sure they'll love that."
I sighed and walked out the kitchen, placing my gym bag on a bench before going to the play area, smiling as Dream and Blue ran towards me.
I chuckled softly as they both cuddled up beside me before noticing Ink blushing, glancing toward us while playing with his fingers.
"Come here, Inky." I said softly as the kid gave a nervous smile, walking toward us before laying on my stomach.
The four of us laid there lazily, enjoying each other's compamy peacefully, I guess they were pretty tired from waiting.
Soon enough, the three dozed off as I pet their heads, "It's surprising not seeing you running around with Dream and Blue."
I looked where the voice came from before smiling slightly, glancing around the daycare.
"Yeah, I'm just tired." I mumbled, enough for him to hear as he sat beside me.
"You can have Goth by the way." I muttered sadly as he seemed to choke, "You're not going to fight for him anymore?"
(You thought it was Goth-
Didn't you?)
"Nah, you won already." I glanced at Cray sadly, seeing his shocked look.
"What's wrong with you?" I shrugged as I scratched my cheek, "I don't know really, this feeling is new to me."
He seemed to raise a brow as I sighed, giving in, "I'm leaving the daycare alright?"
I would have laughed when he choked and spluttered, "W-wait what?! D-did you get fired or something?"
I shook my head as I pointed at the gym bag, making him look at it, "I'm moving away from here later, just do me a favor and don't tell Goth."
He looked back at me and I didn't need him to speak because his expression said it all.
"Why?"
"Do you really want to see him break down into tears? Besides, it's not like I won't come back, the only thing I can't guarantee is when I'll be back."
Or if I'll still be the same when I do.
We stayed silent as he seemed deep in his thoughts before rubbing his head, "Fine, I won't tell."
I smiled sadly before mumbling, "Take care of Goth for me, will you?"
Cray gave a smile back as I stood up, carefully carrying the three skellys and putting them into bed.
As I walked out my eyes widened whrn I saw Goth in front of me with a concerned look.
"Alright, tell me what's going on." I shook my head as I gave a fake smile.
"What? Goth what are you talking about? I'm f-" I was cut off by him bringing me into a hug.
"I know you're not fine." My soul must have cracked even more when I heard his voice waver.
I sighed and shakily hugged him back tightly, trying to hold back the tears.
"Please... Just tell me what's wrong, aren't we best friends...?"
I sniffed as I whispered, "I... I can't tell you... No matter how much I want to... I don't want to be the reason why..."
I couldn't even finish my sentence as I shivered, feeling his hand rub my back.
"Shh... It's okay if you can't, I understand." I pulled away and placed my forehead on his, letting my tears flow.
"Thanks Goth." I mumbled, smiling sadly as he smiled back.
"Now where's that cheery smile I know all to well?" I chuckled as he tickled my sides making me smile.
No matter how I try to hide these feelings...
I'm still going to miss him.
Time skip...
I spent the day cuddling and hanging out with Goth, Cray decided to let me have this.
I smiled as I looked up at the sky as it started turning dark.
Thought that smile quickly left as I looked down, hearing the military vechile in the distance.
I walked away before Goth went out the daycare, already knowing that PJ will handle it.
"Hey there squirt, ya ready for battle?" I nodded as I climbed up the back, feeling the wind brush past us as we drived.
Who knew I was right all along?
I did change.
