(Location:????)(Yami/My POV)

Darkness, darkness that's all what I can see. I shake my head. I was in a hospital. Wait no this can't be the same one right? I rushed around the hospital as I phase through doctors, nurses, anybody until I saw mother on the hospital bed.

Yami: no, no, no, no!!

I tried to break the door but it won't budge so I broken the window and tried to heal my mother but it didn't work. I tried to pour more energy until she looked at me with a smile.

Yami: mother!! Please don't leave me!!

Fiona: Son, I'm sorry...I couldn't be there with you when our children grow up....

The heart monitor went flat and I started to tear up.

Yami: please stop it!!

I closed my eyes I don't want to see my mother die again and I covered my ears to block the flatline.

Yami: No, I don't want to be alone!!

Then I was back in SAO which I was confused and I'm back in my old clothes.

Yami: what the hell is going on here?

(No POV)

Yami takes out Rebellion as he walks deep in the walkways of Floor 74 in SAO. No monsters were there but himself.

Yami: Floor 74, that's where the Blue Eye Demon used to be in until I defeated it.

He walked in the floor where the boss used to be until he sees a figure standing in the middle of the room.

Yami: why is he doing here? He just standing there?

He walked a bit more closer but he felt something wasn't right the more he got closer.

????: why? Why would you forget about who you are?

Yami: what do you even mean by that?

Then he did a full 360 degree neck rotation as he gave him an evil smile.

Yami?: because I'am you. The darkness in your heart.

Yami: what?

Yami?: shame you're in the vegetable state, you could've pulled Adam out and finish this war already.

Yami: look I had to do it!! Even then he knew he could've dodged the attack but he needed his soul to rest!!

Yami?: yeah rest. Strange I remember wasn't your goal is to save everyone right? What about Bercouli?

Yami: what!?

Yami?: yeah strange even your inner demon couldn't save him I don't know maybe that girl who jumped off the roof at Shujin Academy had already jumped off the roof as we speak.

Yami: she already did it!?

Yami?: yes she already jumped her fate. She was weak but for reasons for the Phantom Thieves to start their first heist.

Yami: that's it!!

His aura went blue as he's now in Brawler Style as the arena changed to Chicago but in a rain setting as the rain soaked Yami as he was ready to fight this dark version of him.

Yami?: this place? Better than nothing.

He was also had blue aura but it was much more darker as he was in his own Brawler style.

Yami: what?

Yami?: you forgotten that dopplegangers like me have the same abilities, dumbass.

Both charged towards each other as they jumped and clashed their knees.

Both landed on their feet as Inner Yami kicks towards Yami's head but he blocks it. The actual Yami did a drop kick. The inner one sees a punch coming towards him but he catches the attack.

Inner Yami: you're gonna be in joint for years dumbass!!

He grabs Yami and slammed his kness to his face. A magenta aura surrounds Yami as his speed was increased more as he rapidly punches Inner Yami and a swift kick to his stomach.

He starts to taunt him as he shadowbox in place while mocking Inner Yami which he was a bit irritated.

Inner Yami: Troubleshooting pest.

He blasted a ion blast but the man takes out a baseball bat and swings it. He swings a giant shadow arm but Yami did a cartwheel to dodge his attack.

Yami: so predicable.

He rushes towards Inner Yami and did a drop kick, lands back on her feet and did a heavy punch as Inner Yami was pushed away like a ragdoll.

He disappears into the shadows for a moment before suddenly attacking Yami. He blasted another ion shot which hit Yami. The smoke was gone and he was damaged.

Yami: how about this!!

He takes out an M4 with Extended Clips, Foregrip, Grip handle, laser sight and shot some bullets at his inner version but as he taken many bullets he chuckled as he glitched out.

Yami: what the!?

It turned to Floor 27 as Yami rushes towards the labyrinth as he saw most of the Moonlit Black Cats.

Yami: no don't!!

But Ducker tried to open it hut the trap activated which caused monsters to spawn in everyone tried their best to kill them but one by one they were getting a game over as they died in real life only Sachi and Yami were left. Dark Dwarf Miners and Granite Elementals were surrounding them but they were getting killed off.

Yami: Sachi grab my hand!!

She tried to reach towards his hand until a Granite Elemental slashed her back getting her a game over until she smiled before turning into polygons.

Yami:!!!

It changed to where Keita was and he wasn't happy as he was very mad at him.

Keita: you lied to us!? Why!? We trusted you!! You were scared because you have a higher level than us!! I hate you!!

Then he fell to his death as Yami screamed and he gripped his hair.

Yami: AHHHHHHHHH!!! NO IT CAN'T BE I WAS ABLE TO SAVE THEM!! THEY SHOULD'VE BEEN ALIVE!!

He was breathing hard as his vision was getting blurry. He sees a spear as he realized that the spear had stabbed through his stomach. His neck was grabbed by Inner Yami and he was thrown to a building like a ragdoll.

Yami: you'll pay...

He started giving him best at damaging him with all of his might.

Inner Y/n: YOU CANNOT BE ABLE TO DAMAGE MY BODY!! HOW WEAK YOU ARE!!

Inner Y/n: Burn Explosion!!

A explosion of fire caught Yami burning the area the city but the flames were quickly put out from the rain.

Inner Y/n: foolish one.

A pinkish aura surrounds him as he did a upright stance with a high guard put up.

Inner Yami: let's see if you can handle the rush!!

He punches Yami towards the air, rapidly punches him towards his chest and stomach and as he falls to the ground one powerful punch to send him to the ground.

Inner Yami: where's the talking that you're saying? Saving these people so they can be happy?

Yami then throws a punch towards Inner Yami's face.

Yami: how about that!?

But he wasn't there as he was ALO where Yuuki was there but she was weak.

Yuuki: Yami...

Yami: Yuuki!! What's going on!?

Yuuki: Yami...*coughs* I'm sorry for not being strong....

Yami: Yuuki!! No, no, no, no!! I can cure you!! Let me cure you!! god dammit!! Why God!?

Yuuki: It's okay to live, even if there's no greater point to living. God would never put us through all this suffering if he didn't think we could bear it.

She vanished as a fist punches him hard sending him crashing down to a building causing it to fall over Yami.

Yami charges at the Inner Version and swings a punch but Inner Yami dodges it. He shot the first bullet damaging the face and shot the second one hitting the body. He shakes him and did a round house kick.

Yami: woah!!

He lands and he takes out Yamato as the water drips out of the blade and landing on the ground.

Two more spears hits his back as he growls. He tried to fight back as the buildings began to crumble.

Yami: what the!?

Inner Yami: your own mind began to cumble!! Your desire to save the people from the different universes has consumed you!! You are desperate to save them!!

He summoned out his sword but it was Yamato but Masamune.

Yami: !!!

He charges towards his inner version they clashed blades. They hit each other as each slash was hurting more towards Yami. He tried to hit him but the Inner Version blocked his attack with ease.

Each hit more buildings were crumbling and it started to snow until he was gone as Yami sees a memory with Adam's last moments.

"Adam": hehe so this is how die?

Yami: brother!!

Adam: I know I could've dodged it but I need to rest. My soul needs to rest in peace, I don't want to hurt you or mother.

Yami: brother...

Adam: I want to say that you did a good job fighting against those people and me. You made me proud of not giving up.

Yami: brother... god dammit...don't!!

He punches to floor breaking as it started to crack up. Tears were flowing out of his eyes.

Adam: brother....I'm sorry...I wanted to be happy but I've become a monster...

Yami: please stay with me!! We can do this together!!

Adam: where are you, brother? I can't see you.

Yami: I'm here, I'm right here.

Adam: It's so cold brother....I want to go home....where's mama? Where's papa? I'm scared... go... finish this... battle for...me.

Yami who hugs him as tears flown out more as his older brother's eyes became lifeless. His eyes starts to slowly close.

Adam: save...them...free...their...souls...

Then he closes his eyes, no response, he has died and Yami was now crying

Then golden particles were flying away as Adam was slowly disappearing with a smile on his face as he was now gone.

Yami started to tear up as he couldn't watch it any more but it kept replaying the same memory over and over.

Yami: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry just STOP IT!!

He smiles in a impossible way his smile was toothless. His eyes were gone leaving empty eye sockets. Yami hears noise that hurts his ears. It stopped to see himself closer but with red eyes with teeth. Blood leaked out of his eyes and mouth.

They stand with their back facing Yami, laughing, and they say

Inner Yami: Who is doing this?"

As if to taunt him. In rage Yami punch them in the back of the neck.

Inner Yami: YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELF!!

He scream, choking them as hard as he can. He is finally "dead", but the whispers don't stop, The words taunt him over and over and over and over again, his mind being filled with every single regret. He scream and scream and scream, begging for it to stop. He pray to whatever force is out there.

Yami: PLEASE LET ME OUT!!

The screaming coming from inside the coffin is muffled, as if the person cannot breathe. They beg to be let out, but they're already dead. He giggle to himself, wondering who would be foolish enough to do all those horrible things. Until Yami see his name on the grave stone.

Yami:*giggles*

He sees a gun on the ground. He quickly picks it up and points it to his head.

Yami:*giggles*bang...

Nothing happened, the hands around his neck are still choking him, at this point Yami's neck is broken, his eyes flooded with tears and blood, his ears flooded with the whispers.

Yami: I'm alone....I'm alone...

He began to shove his hand into his chest as blood came out until he heard a voice.

????: Yami....

He looked up to see Asuna.

Asuna: Yami, you're not alone.

Then Suguha appeared.

Suguha: we're here for you, no matter what.

Next Shino walked in.

Shino: you saved us back then now let us help you.

Then Kazuto and Eugeo walked in.

Kazuto: you've been there with me since the SAO Incident. You never left my side, I'm not leaving your side.

Eugeo: you were able to teach me how to be a swordsman and able to show me there's a world beyond Ruild Village.

He shoved his hand deeper and deeper until his mother and brother walked in.

Raikou: son, I've always care for you just like your brother, your sister and your father. I don't want to lose you to your despair.

Adam: you've able to surpass me and I'm proud of that not just a fighter but a brother. I'm here for you even if I'm in the Afterlife I care for you.

Inner Yami: do you want to be like this?

Yami:....

Inner Yami: you want everything that you worked so hard for to be for nothing?

Yami: n-no...

He felt everyone hold his hand as they smiled at him.

Inner Yami: stand up and rise up. Raise your blade!! Let your power rise!!

Yami: I'm not gonna to lose!!

Everyone who were fighting stopped to see a pillar of light and it dimmed down to reveal Yami awaken.

Sachi: Yami....you're finally awake.

Yami: I'm back and I'm ready to fight.
