Chapter 5: A "Gift" by the Archons.

Midnight, Mondstadt, Galesong Hill: Dadaupa Gorge.

The Outrider Amber managed to sneak inside the Eclipse Tribe, where all the Hilichurls gather around undetected. She notices a group of Samachurls worshipping around the floating Teardrop Crystals, glowing with impurities. Amber grabs her Baron Bunny, counting her hopes on her explosive doll.

Amber: It's just you and I, my cute Baron Bunny.

After that, she lobs the doll in full strength, the moment the Baron Bunny lands in the middle of where the Samachurls are rounding up, the Outrider had her arrow charged up. Released it straight to the Baron Bunny to trigger the explosion manually.

*Boom!*

As the Samachurls got blown away by the explosion. The Outrider swiftly scoops the Teardrop Crystal away from the Hilichurls with her knapsack without making direct contact before escaping from the gorge.

Mondstadt, Starfell Valley: Thousands Winds Temple.

The group set off to locate more Teardrop Crystals after mobilized most of the Knights and organized several search parties. Thousands Winds Temple was first recommended by Jean to investigate, assuming that it's one of secluded places that Dvalin has wandered around in. The group are now fighting against a Ruin Guard which happens to be wandering around the amphitheater. The Travelers combined their Anemo vortex to interrupt the Ruin Guard's spinning attack before Diluc takes his chance to take it down.

Diluc: Burn!

He holds his Claymore in two hands, infused with Pyro energy, summoning and launching a Phoenix figure attack straight to the Ruin Guard, shattering it into pieces. The group managed to obtain another Teardrop Crystal.

Paimon: Paimon never thought we would find Dvalin's tears in a place like this.

Jean: As Knights, we are taught to hone our investigative skills.

Paimon: Wow! Very impressive! Let's keep finding more.

The group nod and resumes their search.

Jean: In my experience, the secret to finding what you are looking for is to never look for it in the first place. Don't think too much about it and don't search too hard.. And before you know it, what you are looking for will appear right before your very eyes..

Aether: Sounds like that's how we found Venti after the meeting with you and Lisa at the Knights of Favonius Headquarters.

Lumine: I agree with Aether..

Jean: Really? I'm glad it really worked for you, Honorary Knights.

The fairy struggles as she doesn't quite understand how it work.

Paimon: Paimon doesn't get it.. Paimon doesn't sound like that would work for me.

Jean: No, seriously, it does though. In fact, that's how I used to find my tortoise whenever he went missing.

Paimon: Wait.. You had a pet tortoise?

Jean: Yes, why? Something wrong, Paimon?

Lumine: I don't think it's a good idea to pry someone's matters.. Paimon.

Paimon: Ah sorry! Paimon just curious and feel surprised hearing that from Jean.

Aether: Uh.. How? Anyone can have tortoise to pet.

Diluc: I agree. I had one too when I was a kid. What's so strange about it?

Paimon: What!? You too!?

The group went silent to Paimon's surprised..

Paimon: Uh.. Paimon made it awkward, right?

Lumine: ..Yes.. You did..

Jean tries to recover their conversation and change the topic..

Jean: Well, since Diluc and I were once had a tortoise when we were kids. We used to hold a tortoise race to see which one is faster. And-

Diluc sighs and politely asks her to stop..

Diluc: That's enough, Jean.. Focus on the mission.

Jean: Oh! Sorry, Master Diluc.

The conversation has become even more awkward as the group know about their childhood story.

Paimon: Uh... Anyway, let's keep finding more.

Hopefully, someone came in and interrupt their awkward conversation.

???: Hey, guys!

The group notices Amber from a far judging on her hair with a red bunny bow, along with Noelle and Miles coming with her. They all recognized the Crimson Knight and the Maid Knight as they up with the group, reporting what she had found to Jean along with the Knight.

Lumine: Amber! Noelle!

Noelle: Oh, it's the Honorary Knights! Ahem-! How's the mission going?

Aether: It went very well. We managed to find one guarded by the Ruin Guard.

Jean: Amber. Have you find any Teardrop Crystals in this area?

The Outrider replies back with full confidence, like she is eagerly to gift us a present while the Maid Knight stays silent and letting the Outrider do the talking.

Amber: Yep! I supposed these are the ones you guys briefed us about. Show it to them, Miles!

Miles: Yes, Outrider Amber!

She excitedly but yet keep her formal attitude as the Knight shows two Teardrop Crystals filled with impurities. Since Amber can't personally carry the Crystals due to the impurities affect the vision.

Amber: So I hope it's enough.. I almost turned the entire Mondstadt upside down just to gather these.

Aether compliments to her exaggerating effort.

Aether: That would beyond my imagination, Amber.

Paimon: Wow.. I can't believe you guys managed to find two of them!

The Outrider scratches and her face look blushed and flustered, but extremely happy.

Amber: Hehe! When Jean briefed us about it, it sounds very important to you guys so I would do my best to gather and bring it here as soon as possible. That way, there's no need to trouble you guys to go all the way just to collect these.

Jean: Thanks for your effort and thoughts, Amber. Though you should be reporting back to us. It's much safer that way. As Acting Grand Master, I can't let you shoulder such dangerous task on your own, Amber. Especially you, Noelle.

The Maid, who knows and expected the Acting Grand Master is to be worrying her safety.

Noelle: Huh? Oh.. Sorry, Master Jean.

The Outrider defends her as her Geo Barrier helped her through the domain in Cape Oath.

Amber: Don't worry, Jean. Although I definitely can take care some Hilichurls in Dadaupa Gorge before getting the Teardrop Crystal. But Noelle really helped me a lot fighting against Mitachurls in the domain part when we set off to get another one.

After hearing the Maid's contribution, the Acting Grand Master was convinced and glad they are safe in the end.

Jean: I'm glad you both are safe. And thanks for the effort. Amber, Noelle.

Noelle: Oh! No need to mention it, Master Jean!

Diluc: ...

The Acting Grand Master asks the bard.

Jean: Will these be enough, Venti?

Venti: I believe it is enough for the Holy Lyre. We can perform the purification process anytime with these crystals in our hands.

Jean: Okay.. Amber, Noelle, Miles. You all should take a break while we handle the rest.

Amber, Noelle and Miles: Yes, Master Jean.

Amber and Miles both perform a knightly salute to the Acting Grand Master. While Noelle does an elegant and also a formal Maid Curtsy before returning back to the city. Diluc compliments on their performance on the mission.

Diluc: The potential they possessed surpasses my expectation, but it's still a shame that one of them join the Knights.

Jean: ...

Paimon: They all are capable on protecting Mondstadt. You should be proud of that, Master Diluc!

Diluc: And that maid.. She's still on the Apprentice level.. Right?

Jean: Huh? How do you know?

Diluc: The way they salute already give me the answer. May I know why the hesitation, Acting Grand Master?

Jean sighs from how Diluc called her, as she shares her thought about Noelle.

Jean: ...Noelle. She puts enormous effort into trying to become a Knight of Favonius. However, I fear she is not quite ready for the dangers that lie beyond Mondstadt's walls.

Diluc: I just hope you will make the right decision, Jean..

The bard teases Diluc who cared about Jean.

Venti: Aww... Although you dislike the Knights of Favonius. But you actually care about the Acting Grand Master deep down inside, Master Diluc~

The man frowns a bit towards the Bard's tease.

Diluc: Showing my concerns doesn't mean I secretly like the Knights of Favonius, bard. Plus, Jean is a capable one, otherwise she wouldn't deserves such as the title of Acting Grand Master.

She blushes a bit by his compliment..

Jean: Master Diluc.. I...

Noticing the temperature of her face rising up gradually, she snaps out of it and immediately changes the conversation back to the Holy Lyre.

Jean: We should let the Honorary Knights perform the purification process! Aether, Lumine?

Both travelers, who noticed her blush just now, but they choose to go with the flow like they didn't see anything.

Aether and Lumine: Sure! ^^

Venti: (Wow.. Nice recovery! She's really talented at changing the subject...)

Diluc: (I swear that bard can be nuisance sometimes..)

Venti: Anyway, let's put these crystals together.

Aether: Is it just me..? Or the crystals look muddier than the first two?

Venti: It's a sign that Dvalin has gone through so much pain recently.

Lumine: Let's purify it, Aether.

Her brother gives a nod. Venti hands over the crystal to them. They both concentrate their focus and combine their hand, the impurities of the crystals soon cleansed and the glow slowly change into light blue energy. Diluc and Jean both surprised by the process of the purification.

Jean: It is hard to believe such a thing is possible, until you've seen it with your own eyes.

Diluc: Interesting. It's like filtering wine. The process is... Refreshing.

The bard hands over the Holy Lyre.

Venti: So next, we use the crystal on the Holy Lyre like last time.

Lumine: Okay.

She grabs three purified crystals, drips the tears down from her palm onto the string. Its Anemo energy infused the Lyre's String back to its former power.

Paimon: It worked! Paimon thinks this is enough?

Venti: Yes, indeed. The Lyre's Anemo power has been fully restored. We should be able to use it now. It's all thanks to you both.

Paimon: Paimon glad it's going so well so far.

Diluc: Still, keep your guard up.. We're still not done with Stormterror. Besides, the Fatui could also be planning something..

Jean: Now.. Where should we summon Stormterror? Perhaps right here, at the Amphitheater?

Diluc: This place is crawling with Hilichurls or even Mitachurl around. We could fend them off at first.. But if the Stormterror attacks us. We might.. Need more time to finish the fight.

Jean: Oh.. That's right..

Venti: The wind that blows at sea or in high places should be able to carry a bard's words far away. It's never going to work if the air is too dry or suffocating. Especially not in this... "Ruin"

Paimon: Paimon understands. Sea or high places, right?

Lumine: Which means a cliff.

Jean: I can recommend the place known as Starsnatch Cliff. It's just on the north side of the Thousand Winds Temple. Does that suitable for you, Venti?

Lumine: That's the one Amber recommended to us as well.. It should be okay for Venti.

Venti considers about Jean's recommendations.

Venti: Hm.. Let me think... Starsnatch Cliff...

The bard eventually nods, as Starsnatch Cliff qualifies every condition that Venti needs in order to sends his message and summon Dvalin. Plus, there won't be any Hilichurls or slimes around so there'll be no interruption.

Venti: Alright, let's do it there..

Jean: Very well. Let's head over there, are you guys ready?

The group nod.

Diluc: Anytime, Jean.

Aether: Let's do this!

Seeing everyone is ready as always makes Paimon fires up.

Paimon: Dvalin protection squad! Let's move out!

Lumine: Oh, Paimon..

The group move out to the north side of the Thousands Winds Temple, Starsnatch Cliff. Thankfully, it only takes a few minute for them to reach there.

Paimon: Phew.. Paimon have to say, thanks to Amber and Noelle. We won't need to travel a long way for the crystals and come back here.

Lumine: Yeah.. Also, the view of Starsnatch Cliff is amazing, right Venti?

Venti: Lovely enough indeed for a fated reunion.. Well, we must be prepared for a fight.

Jean: Regardless of the outcome, things finally seem to be taking a turn for the better. Mondstadt has really been going through a lot recently..

Diluc: In the end, the solution to our problem was as simple as a traveler and a song. I suppose the Knights of Favonius may have played a part in it too..

Venti: Oh, we get it, Master Diluc... Everyone, please stay aside! I, the best wandering bard of the mortal world, shall begin my performance with the Holy Lyre.

The bard summons the Holy Lyre der Himmel. Walking forward near the edge of the cliff. The other five watches him while the bard strum the lyre gently, summoning a carefree tune to the air. The wind blows the music further so it can spread out far enough for Dvalin to listen. After a few seconds, the group can hear a faint roar coming close from a far. The dragon's arrival sends a strong wind to the group. Paimon grabs Aether's braid hair as the group cover themselves to prevent being blown away. As they open their eyes, Dvalin slowly floats down to his long-lost friend, Venti.

Dvalin: You have come... What has been done cannot be undone..

Venti: If so, then why do I see sadness in your eyes? Sadness that speaks for your yearning of this song...

The dragon let out a grudge and pain groan. A part of him still have his hope for his friend to help him.

Dvalin: Grr..

Jean: They are.. Communicating.. Huh?

Lumine: Well..

Aether: Watch out!

An ice rail suddenly shoots out towards the bard, it strucks the Holy Lyre and the force pushes Venti away, Aether catches him from falling.

Lumine: No! Venti!

The group rushes forward to protect the bard. They all can hear a noise of a strange accent as an Abyss Mage coming from Dvalin's side.

Abyss Mage: Do not be fooled by him, dear dragon.. He left you to rot alone! Now he attempts to deceive you once more..

The words from the Abyss enrages Dvalin more.

Dvalin: Barbatos!!

Abyss Mage: Let your wrath fester! Mondstadt has already turned its back on you!

The dragon unleashed its pent up rage at the group.

Dvalin: You were planning this all along? To have me slain by them!?

Venti: It's not like that! Listen to me!

Unfortunately, the venom inside the dragon manipulates his mind.

Abyss Mage: The time has come for the dragon to serve its true master! While you bewail your pathetic selves, and watch the world tremble with fear!

The Abyss Mage commands the dragon to escape for now. Flying away before they could catch up. Venti sighs as he watches his friend, Dvalin flies away. Jean

Jean: Barba- Venti, please be careful!

Venti: I'm fine.. You've known my true identity for some time now, haven't you Jean? Though, I thank you for continuing to use the name Venti.

Diluc: How's the Holy Lyre? Can it still be played? Or does it need to be repaired?

Venti: Ugh..

The group looks at the destroyed Holy Lyre and also lost its power, it's already obvious for them to know it's beyond repair.

Venti: Unfortunately, I think it's beyond repair..

Aether: What matters now is Dvalin is in a lot of danger... We can't let the Abyse Mage get away!

Diluc: You're right. If we don't fight the evil at its source, then we can't save Dvalin at all.

Jean: *sigh* I already assigned Outrider Amber for Crystal collecting not too long ago.. I shouldn't be burden her with such task any further.

Diluc: No need.. I eradicated one not long ago in one of the Four Winds' temples when the Outlanders is out for mission.

Paimon: Wait! How come we never noticed you!?

Diluc: It doesn't matter. If you want to track those monsters down, then I'll seek answers from my contacts, I've got other means for getting the job done.

Paimon compliments Diluc's effort.

Paimon: Aw.. Diluc.. Though he dislikes the Knights of Favonius, he protects Mondstadt in his own way.

Venti: Ooh? Why does our little Paimon sound so doting all of a sudden?

The man breaks off their unnecessary chatter.

Diluc: Ahem! You all should get some rest and wait for my word.

His tone started to sound more angry as he clenches his fist.

Diluc: I'll be sure to let the Abyss Order know that their blatant disregard for Mondstadt.. Will not go unpunished!

Paimon: What about you, Master Diluc?

He softens his tone as he replies to Paimon.

Diluc: Just worry about yourself. You've been dealing with this from the start.

Venti: Okay! The Travelers and I will be going then. Aether? Lumine?

Aether: Yeah.. Let's go, Lumine.

Lumine: *nod*

The Travelers and the bard take their leave first, leaving only the Acting Grand Master and the Tavern owner alone at the Starsnatch Cliff. Jean gives her thanks to him when they are alone.

Jean: Thank you, Diluc..

Diluc: Don't mention it..

He picks up the damaged Holy Lyre der Himmel. As he Inspects it for a while. One of the horn already destroyed and broke one of the Lyre's string as well. Not even one with expert craftsmanship could repair its normal form.

Diluc: Since this "sacred treasure" has become "priceless". Mind if I keep it until we rescued Dvalin? I bet some of the Knights are still searching for it.

Jean: It's better to let me keep it, Master Diluc. I'll explain it to the Knights so they won't pursue anymore. As for the Ludi Harpastum... And Barbara...

Diluc sighs out as she still worries about further problems.

Diluc: Let's set that aside for now, Jean. At least after we finally settled the issues caused by the Stormterror and the Fatui.

The Acting Grand Master eventually reply with a nod.

Jean: Right.. I should see you home to the Dawn Winery.

Diluc: No need.. Prioritize your rest first. I can take care of myself.

Master Diluc takes his leave from the Starsnatch Cliff. Leaving Jean alone who prays towards the wind before heading back to Mondstadt.

Meanwhile... Midnight, Inn..

After their dinner with Paimon stuffing herself with food and just returned back to the Inn, Paimon just dives into one of the siblings' bed while Lumine stretches herself, grabbing her towel and soap before heading to take a shower first. Lumine also invited Paimon to join in but the fairy already glued to the bed and also does a stretch to make herself comfortable to sleep after a long quest.

Paimon: Ahhh~! Paimon's so tired..

Lumine: Come on, Paimon. You don't like it when we grab you either.

Paimon: Ugh.. Paimon's too lazy to do that at this moment. Plus, there's no Paimon's size bathtub for Paimon to take a dip to relax.

Aether: Oh.. Paimon.. Now she thinks she's in a luxury or something.

Lumine: ...

Without a word, she carefully grabs Paimon's body and places her in Lumine's towel while she's in asleep.

Paimon: Wha-!? Cut it out! Paimon will go shower as well!

Lumine: That's a good girl. ^^

Timeskip...

After the shower, Lumine tries to discuss with her brother about the event they have encountered today. Paimon tries to get herself involve to their conversation.

Lumine: Say, Aether...

Aether: Hm?

Paimon: What's wrong?

Lumine: We're literally been in Mondstadt for the second day and we're already got ourselves involved with the enemies and other threats.

Paimon: Now you mention it.. That sounds too sudden.. The Fatui from Snezhnaya.. And the Abyss Order Paimon doesn't even know where they came from.. That must be a lot of pressures for Travellers like you two. Paimon can't even imagine meeting one of the Fatui Harbingers that Master Diluc mentioned about.

Aether: At least we get to know about them. The world we're in may look dangerous and I know it may sound very rush, but we have the capabilities to handle what the world throws at us.

Lumine: Are you sure?

Her brother cheers Lumine up.

Aether: As long as we're together. And the friends we made along the way. Our journey will be a memorable one, no matter the obstacles we're facing.

The girl nods as she agrees to her brother's advice.

Lumine: I agree.. This is just the beginning..

Aether: Let's get to know about Mondstadt and other regions as well! That will be our main goal of our journey!

Lumine: Yeah.. Let's get some sleep for now.. Do you think we should help Amber out? She helped us out with the Crystals searching after all.

Aether: Sure! Let's go find Amber when we finished our commissions at the Adventurer's Guild.

Lumine: Cool! Good night then, Aether.

Paimon: *yawn* Good night, Aether, Lumine. Paimon's tired now.

Both siblings head to sleep for the whole night, Paimon sneaks into the blanket on Lumine's bed, making herself comfortable beside Aether's sister.

The next day..

Morning.. Mondstadt, Main Street: Good Hunter.

During early in the morning, which is the time Noelle already woke up and prepared her specialty pancakes and tea for the Travelers after Aether and Lumine just arrived at the Good Hunter..

Aether: Noelle? I didn't expect you to wake up this early.

Noelle: Oh, Maids like me and other Knights are always the early birds in Mondstadt. So it's not a big surprise at all to see me around in the dawn.

Lumine: But you know we can afford the food at the Good Hunter, Noelle.

The Maid nods in sweet smile as she already anticipated Lumine's reply. She responds back with a respectful tone.

Noelle: These pancakes are my specialty dish, it's a treat from me to you both, as a good kick-start for the morning, especially for the first day as the Honorary Knights! The other Knights are glad having you both as one of them.

Receiving the presentation of her generous sincerity, Aether and Lumine couldn't refuse the Maid's offer. But Paimon just happily accepts it with stars in her eyes, sparkling as the food makes her drool before she is about to dig in.

Paimon: Well, thanks for the offer!

Lumine: Paimon! You gotta show some respect to Noelle's offer.

Paimon: Ah! Sorry.. The pancakes look so delicious!

Aether: Did you had your breakfast yet, Noelle?

His question made her eyelids jump a bit, forgot that she haven't had hers yet.

Noelle: Oh! Uh.. I was thinking about making the pancakes for you both all the time that I almost forgot about it.

Lumine: You can join us if you want. We can order something you like.

The Maid immediately refuses as she brings out a box decorated with rose patterns on the lid from her bag.

Noelle: Well, there's no need to worry for that! ^^ I also brought a box of salad with me.

Both travelers are concerned about her way of having three daily meals since salad alone isn't enough for Maid like her who requires a tons of stamina for her daily duty.

Lumine: Will that be enough?

She nods formally as she is used to her diet.

Noelle: Definitely, it is important for Maid like me to have a balanced meals for breakfast, also for lunch and dinner as well. As for Travelers like you, you shouldn't consume any mystery food as you come across. Wild fruits like Sunsettias and Apples are fine but mushrooms are a no-go.

Paimon: It's fine, we pay a lot of attention to what we eat

Noelle: That's a relief for me. Also, since after the day of Acting Grand Master herself granted you the title of the "Honorary Knights of Favonius" and seeing you working with Master Jean. I couldn't help but envy you, I suppose that makes you my senior! Just like Captain Kaeya!

Lumine: Even it's just a title? And without taking any Knights of Favonius's exams?

The Maid shakes her head..

Noelle: It's not just a title, Lumine. It's a sign of the Acting Grand Master's trust and the gratitude from other Knights, especially the warmth from a Maid like me. The citizens are grateful for your deeds as well and also happy to see you in person.

Paimon: Wow.. Tone-Deaf Bard might be right about the "Hotshot" part.

Aether: At least, it's a good sign.

Noelle: That's right. Plus, both of you are travelers and oftenly go on adventures around the world. With this title, the people in Mondstadt will always remember you two as heroes to them.

Aether scratches his head.

Aether: You flattered us.

Noelle: So what's your plan for today?

Lumine: We're taking commissions from Katheryne and then we'll help Amber with her tasks.

Noelle: That's great. If you need any assistance, I will always be of your help. I also will look forward working with you one day.

Aether: Thanks.

The Maid nods with her usual grin before they have their breakfast. After that and minutes of rest, the siblings head over to the Adventurer's Guild Receptionist, Katheryne. Looking for available commissions. The receptionist greets them with the famous quote of the Adventurer's Guild.

Katheryne: Ad Astra Abyssosque! Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild! So I assume you are looking for commissions to do?

Paimon: Yeah. Sorry for not appearing yesterday, the Travelers and I are doing missions for the Knights all day.

Katheryne: I don't mind. You can take the commissions anytime you want. It's just there's a limit of how many you can do in a daily basis.

Aether: How many can we take?

Katheryne: Since there are two of you. I guess you can take eight commissions in total, which means each one of the members takes four.

Lumine: Cool. So what type of it.

Katheryne: I would recommend simpler one for newcomers, such as running small errands for the citizens of Mondstadt and making deliveries for Sara. Unfortunately, most of the commissions are piled up in monster clearing section.

Aether: Mind if you brief us more about it?

Katheryne: Recently, more Hilichurls camps are found in the Whispering Woods and Windrise. The Knights and the Adventurers are dealing with it currently. We could use more help like yours to finish the job.

Lumine: Sounds like we might meet up with Amber if we're in a right time.

Aether: Yeah..

Katheryne: I guess I'll take it as a yes for accepting this commissions?

Aether: What do you say?

Lumine nods immediately..

Lumine: Sure, we're taking this commissions then.

Katheryne: Very well. The commissioner will be the Lynn in the Whispering Woods. She's an Adventurer as well, Lynn spotted several Hilichurls and slimes roaming around before requesting for it. Asking for members to clear up the monsters.

Paimon: So that means we have to clear up their camps? Just like how we did it with Amber before arriving at Mondstadt.

Lumine nods.

Lumine: Mhm..

Aether: Let's go then!

Katheryne: Be safe on your adventure. Ad Astra Abyssosque!

Mondstadt, in front of Main Bridge.

Before arriving into the woods, they meet up with a female Adventurer who is currently cooking Chicken-Mushroom Skewer. Looking at the info provided by Katheryne. They both recognized the Adventurer is the one that made the commission. Lumine approaches the Adventurer who also notices her presence.

Lumine: Are you Lynn? The Adventurer who made a Commission?

The female Adventurer looks surprised as she meets some new faces.

Lynn: Oh? You must be the new members in the Adventurer's Guild. So both of you accepted my commission?

Aether: Yeah.. You want us to clear out the monsters.

Lynn: Indeed. Some of the Knights of Favonius are already dealing with it. But I need to collect Small Lamp Grass for the cooking.

Lumine: So you want us to collect materials as well?

Lynn: No, that would be a lot of trouble for you since you're unfamiliar with the land of Mondstadt. I can take care the material gathering while you help out the Knights clearing the monsters. I'm counting on you both.

Lumine: Okay.

Paimon: Let's take care of the Hilichurls!

The siblings head towards the Whispering Woods.

Mondstadt.. Starfell Valley: Whispering Woods..

*Twang!* *Whoosh!*

Several Knights are fighting against Hilichurls. Amber shoots her arrow towards any Hilichurl's charging attack in mid and close quater combat. Swings a kick to shove one away before an arrow penetrates the mask and to the head. She dodges away from the Mitachurl's shield charge. Shooting several arrows but block by its shield, another charged Pyro shot from Amber, unfortunately deflected away but the Pyro starts burning its shield down. While the Mitachurl busy putting the fire out, Lumine unleashes his Palm Vortex, spreading the Pyro all around the Mitachurl until it is defeated. Amber soon noticed their presence.

Amber: Oh? It's the Travel-! Oh wait..! It's the Honorary Knights of Favonius!

Her voice attracts the other Knight's attention. The others are surprised by their presences but occupied in their fight against Hilichurls. Paimon shifts their focus back onto the fight.

Paimon: Focus on the clearing camp!

Amber: Right! Help me out, Aether!

Aether: Okay!

She grabs out a Baron Bunny from her arsenal, Lumine wonders about bringing a doll to a fight.

Lumine: A doll?

Aether: Well..

Amber: Catch, Aether!

Using the help of the Aether, Amber tosses a Baron Bunny towards Aether. As for him who knows how Baron Bunny works, uses his Palm Vortex's overload explosion to blast the bunny towards a group of Hilichurls before detonating. Lumine drops a sweat.

Lumine: ...Wow.. *Sweatdrop*

She notices several Hilichurls charging towards them.

Lumine: Disappear!

She floats up with the Anemo power, summoning a tornado before sending it out forward, its wind suction snatches the Hilichurls and defeats them in one go. With the tornado still roaming towards the enemies, Amber also gather a massive Pyro energy into her charged shot. Shooting straight into Lumine's Tornado. The tornado infused with Pyro and start shooting out fire arrows in random direction. Causing a rampage and annihilation towards the Hilichurls, slimes and the Abyss Mages. Additionally, the tornado somehow destroys Timmie's birds in the end.

Amber: Clearing them out in one fell swoop! Nice work, Honorary Knights!

Aether: Just address us with our own names, Amber..

Amber: Well, I admired you after seeing you working with the Acting Grand Master!

Kaeya: Ahem.. Amber?

Amber: Yes, Captain Kaeya?

The Cavalry Captain points to the wood which is now the Knights are putting out the fire caused by the Pyro tornado.

Kaeya: Didn't I told you not to use Pyro in the woods? ^^💢

She scratches her head.

Amber: Uh... Let's put out the fire first!

Timeskip...

After completing Lynn's commission and successfully putting out the fire using the Cryo ability from Kaeya and spreading out the elements with the sibling's Anemo power.

Amber: Phew.. Thanks, Aether, Lumine.

Paimon: What are the Knights doing here? Are the Hilichurls building camps near the city again?

Amber: Yeah! We just received reports from Swan who is guarding the gate with Lawrence, sighted Hilichurls activities here. But we never expect the Abyss Order is behind of this.

Kaeya: We should assign more Knights in the patrol duties.

Paimon: What are you gonna do, Kaeya?

Kaeya: I have something more important to attend.

Amber: There he goes. He's always like that, I believe he was just trying to slack off. Am I right, Kaeya?

He chuckles as usual.

Kaeya: Oh Amber.. Nothing could escape your sight as always. But unfortunately, I have to attend some cases to solve with the Captain of the Investigation Team, Albedo. It's about the Treasure Hoarders.

Amber: The Treasure Hoarders!? Ugh.. In a time like this!? Is there anything I can help out with?

He crosses his arms.

Kaeya: Don't worry.. Albedo and I can handle this. The Hilichurls are the bigger picture you should focus on. Jean and the others would rest assured with you and the Honorary Knights of Favonius dealing with it.

Amber: Oh.. I see.

She pouts as she would keep an eye on you.

Amber: But I will still keep an eye on you.

Kaeya: Alright, alright..

The Cavalry Captain shifts his focus on the Travelers.

Kaeya: So what brings you here?

Paimon: We were doing our very first commission assigned by Katheryne from the Adventurer's Guild. We never expect to see both of you here.

Kaeya: Ah. So you're members of the Adventurer's Guild. This is interesting..

Lumine: It'd make sense since we're travelers.

Kaeya: Of course. But I'll take my leave first. I hope we meet again more often. I would definitely use your help when the time comes.

Aether: Sure...

The Cavalry Captain takes his leave, Amber decides to stay for a while..

Amber: Well, how's the investigation going last night?

Paimon: The bard managed to summon the Stormterror with the Holy Lyre. But the Abyss Mage interrupted our conversation and corrupt its mind further. And the Holy Lyre..

Lumine: Ahem!

Paimon almost spills the bean when she is about to say what happened to the Mondstadt's sacred treasure, Holy Lyre der Himmel.

Paimon: Ah! Uh!

Amber: The Holy Lyre... What happened to it?

Aether: Uhm..

Hearing them stuttering, Amber apologizes as she feels she's prying information from them.

Amber: Sorry.. I don't mean to pry.. But I guess you must be working hard and busy with Jean. Also with the owner of the Tavern, Master Diluc, right?

Paimon: Yeah! We worked hard on the Stormterror's issue that we also broke the-

Aether: Paimon!

As Paimon almost spills the bean of them breaking the law. Aether quickly snatches her dialogue during the conversation.

Aether: We also broke our sleep schedule I mean! We didn't get enough rest after that.

Amber: Oh, don't worry! Maybe I can treat you with some coffee to boost you up.

Lumine: Uh.. Thanks, Amber.. But we can afford some at the Good Hunter before resuming back doing commissions for the Adventurer's Guild. Plus, most of the commissions are monster clearing, based on how Katheryne explained it before. We might as well work together and finished all of our tasks for today.

Hearing the Honorary Knights of Favonius will be working with the Outrider. Amber feels very excited with sparks in her eyes.

Amber: Really!? You wanna keep working with me!? It would be my pleasure then!

Paimon: Now let's head back to the city, shall we?

Amber: Sure!

Timeskip... Afternoon, Mondstadt city: Main Street.

After clearing out the monsters in Whispering Woods, Windrise and Windwail Highlands to prevent the people getting ambushed by the Hilichurls, the Travelers receive their first Mora reward from their contribution.

Katheryne: Thank you for completing today's commissions. Here's your reward, Adventurers!

Both siblings got themselves a cheque of 5000 Mora. Adding 1000 for completing a commission. It's 18000 Mora in total. Paimon celebrates their first reward.

Paimon: Woohoo! What a reward after doing commissions and defeating those monsters.

Aether: I might already get used to this.

Katheryne: Keep up the good work, the rewards will increase as your rank raises up.

Lumine: Thanks, Katheryne.

The receptionist nods with a grin.

Katheryne: I'll be looking forward to assign more commissions to you, Travelers. Ad Astra Abyssosque!

The Outrider couldn't wait to join with them after her task.

Amber: So where should we go this time?

Aether: Maybe around the city this time.

Amber: Okay!

They started another hang out around the city.

Meanwhile... Knights of Favonius Headquarters..

Lisa: Jean. I've kept the Lyre to the restricted section in the library, just as you told me to.

Jean: Thanks, Lisa.

Lisa: Care to explain what happened yesterday? I never expect someone would attempt to steal the Holy Lyre der Himmel, especially at a crisis time like this.

Jean: The Honorary Knights had found a way to solve the Stormterror's issue. And about the further details, I'm afraid it's confidential.

The Librarian reassures her as she doesn't want to press her further.

Lisa: Don't worry, I'm just glad the cuties had found a way. That's all I want to know. Don't work yourself too much.

Jean: Thanks for the thoughts. Actually, the Travelers played a big part of it. They managed to purify the impurities of the Crystal somehow. It was fascinating.

Her eyes widened as she just heard about the purification.

Lisa: Oh, that's interesting.. But.. You shouldn't be telling me this, Jean.

Jean: Oh! I'm sorry, I can't help but curious about their background. It's full of mysteries. But at the same time, I shouldn't be prying their secrets after all they contributed to the Knights of Favonius during the time of crisis.

Lisa: I see.. Well..

Hearing it from Jean, Lisa couldn't help but wonders as well. But she faces with a positive way she comes up with.

Lisa: You can take them as a "Gift" blessed by the Archons to solve the issue. And we should cherish it while they are still around.

Jean: Hm.. You really think so?

Lisa: Well, they came to Mondstadt's aid when the Stormterror attacks, helped us stabilized the elemental flow and solve the impurities crystal that would normally take weeks or even months, in just a couple of hours. That's an impressive feats for them as Travelers. Hehe, I bet their pure, no ill-will intentions are also the reason why they are able to purify the crystals. Don't you think, Jean?

The Acting Grand Master feels a bit assured from the Librarian.

Jean: Hm.. I guess that should clear my suspicion towards them. Thanks for listening, Lisa.

Lisa: You're welcome, Acting Grand Master.. I should get back to work.

The Librarian leaves the office. Jean takes a glance of the sky through the window behind her.

Jean: A "gift" to solve the world's issues.. I hope you can meet them one day, Grand Master Varka.

End of Chapter...
