But on a faithful night on his way to his part-time job, he runs over a notorious gangster who he's now apparently indebted to.

With the gangster dragging him into his consequential lifestyle, he learns things he never knew before and is badly influenced with the gangster's unhealthy obsession of shaping him.

and keep in mind, the prologue takes place when minji canonically goes missing in the webtoon 'manager kim', which m/n dubs as his family's disappearance because manager kim was also away for a long period of time while retrieving minji. and heads up, m/n knows nothing of manager kim's lifestyle just like minji so he's kept in the dark while all of that happens.
