Forgiveness

Kiri POV

After what occurred the other night in our Hut. I was starting to get worried for Y/n, he had not returned or has been seen. When he had told us about his past, he has not been seen since. When he told us about his past, I felt more sorry for him than ever.

Right now, me and Tsireya were by the water doing nothing. I was lost in my thoughts thinking about everything like I always do.

Tsireya: "What seems to be bothering you?" She asked, very seen that something was bothering me.

Kiri: (Sighed) "I'm worried about Y/n." I muttered.

Tsireya: "Your human friend that wears that green metal clothing?" She asked.

I nodded, Y/n may have be a human but he was a friend. He was starting to become more than a friend, he was becoming more like family. He was nothing like the sky people, he was better than them in every way that's possible.

Tsireya: "Why don't we go find him?"

I looked at her, only to see that she wasn't joking. She was serious on finding my friend who was going through a tough time right now.

Kiri: "Are you sure?"

Tsireya: "Of course, he's your friend after all right?"

I was surprised that she that, especially since her brother Anoung made it clear that he didn't like him around. He didn't even like spider around but Y/n had our backs no matter what he did.

Kiri: "Yes he is. Let's go find him."

Both of us nodded before standing up. Slowly we begin to search for my missing friend.

Third Person POV

Y/n stood at the edge of the village, staring at the distant forest. He missed its quiet, its safety. Maybe it was time to go back. Just as he turned, a voice stopped him.

Anoung: "Running away again?" He sneered, stepping in his path.

Y/n sighed. He was really not in the mood for his crap right now.

Y/n: "Not now, Anoung."

Anoung: "Why? Afraid? You don't belong here."

Y/n’s jaw tightened. He is getting tired of his mouth already.

Y/n: "I never asked to."

Anoung: "Then leave." He stepped closer, chest puffed. "No one wants you here."

Y/n shoved him back. "Say that again."

Anoung smirked. He already knew that he was getting under the Spartan skin.

Anoung: "Touchy, huh?" He shoved Y/n in return.

Y/n grabbed his arm, twisting it just enough to make him stumble. Anoung growled, lunging forward. They locked arms, shoving, wrestling, neither landing a punch but refusing to back down.

Tsireya: "Stop it!" She cried, grabbing Anoung’s arm.

Kiri pulled at Y/n. "This is stupid!"

But the boys broke free, pushing at each other again.

Lo’ak and Neteyam rushed in. They taking the scene and already knew what they needed to do.

Neteyam: "Enough!" He barked, trying to pry them apart.

Even Spider grabbed Y/n’s waist, but it was useless. The Spartan was way stronger than any them.

Locked in their battle of pride, neither Y/n nor Anoung would let the other win.

Neylei’s sharp voice cut through the chaos.

Neylei: "Enough!" She shouted.

Everyone froze as she stepped between Y/n and Anoung, eyes fierce.

Neylei: "This is pointless," she said firmly, looking between them. "You are not enemies. Stop acting like children."

Y/n huffed, stepping back, but Anoung just crossed his arms, glaring.

Then, Neylei turned to Y/n, her expression softening.

Neylei: "I'm sorry," she said, her voice quieter. "I shouldn’t have asked you about your past. It wasn’t my place."

Y/n blinked, caught off guard.

Neylei: "I just… I care about you," she admitted, glancing away before meeting his eyes again. "And I’ve been feeling… strange things toward you."

Lo’ak and Kiri exchanged glances. Anoung scoffed but said nothing.

Y/n hesitated, his heart pounding. He never expected this.

Y/n: "I… I don’t know what to say."

Neylei smiled softly. "You don’t have to say anything. Just… know that I’m here."

Neylei stepped closer, her gaze locked onto Y/n’s. Slowly, she reached up, fingers trembling slightly as she unfastened his helmet. Y/n didn’t stop her. He barely breathed as she lifted it away, revealing his face.

Then, without hesitation, she leaned in and pressed her lips against his.

Y/n's eyes widened in shock. His mind screamed at him to move, to react, but all he could do was freeze. The world around him seemed to blur—Anoung, Lo’ak, Kiri, Spider—none of them mattered in that moment.

Then, something in him softened. Slowly, uncertainly, he kissed her back. It was hesitant at first, but as he felt the warmth of her lips, the sincerity behind them, he let himself lean into it.

Gasps echoed around them. Lo’ak’s mouth fell open, Kiri covered hers in surprise, and even Spider muttered, "Well, damn."

Anoung just scoffed and turned away.

As they pulled apart, Y/n blinked at Neylei, completely stunned. Before he could speak, a familiar voice echoed in his head.

??? "I’m still here, Y/n."

It was Cortana. His AI companion, the one he had pushed away.

For a moment, guilt weighed on him. But then, he took a deep breath.

Y/n: "I forgive you, Cortana."

Cortana: "Thank you," she whispered.

Neylei smiled softly. He may have forgiven her but he had forgiven his small friend as well.

Neylei: "You’re not alone, Y/n."

For the first time in a long while, he believed her.
