Chapter Seven: Battle

Trapped Inside
Chapter Seven: Battle

Leorio faced down, closing both of his black eyes. "Gee, I've got no choice, I guess I I have to answer your question," he sighed. Facing back up, he opened his eyes back, looking at the captain with determination to answer the question. "The reason why I want to become a hunter is that I-"

"I am the only survivor of the Kurta Clan," Kurapika calmly stated, cutting of Leorio's sentence with no emotion present on his face.

The atmosphere became heavier as the tension thicken. Aile's expression turned sour at his statement as she thought to herself, Kurta Clan... ? Suddenly, a shout forcefully took her out of her trance.

"Hey!," Leorio snapped as he turned around, glaring at the blonde haired male while clenching his fists. "I was just gonna tell him my reason!"

"I want to be a Blacklist Hunter to capture convicts who have bounties on their heads," he informed, completely ignoring the pissed Leorio.

"And why is that?," the captain asked, looking at Kurapika.

"Four years ago, all of my brethren were brutally massacred," he said with a dull, flat voice. "The gang of thieves, the Phantom Troupe, was responsible, and I'm determined to have my revenge."

"And that's why you want to become a hunter?" Kurapika nodded. "The Phantom Troupe has a class A bounty on them. Even the most experienced hunter is going after them," he abruptly stopped. "It could cost you your life."

"I do not fear death, but what I fear the most is that my rage will eventually fade away," Kurapika said, slightly furrowing his eyebrows.

"Heh, get over yourself already," Leorio scoffed. "you can take your revenge without going through all of the troubles of becoming a hunter."

"Don't be as stupid as you look, everyone knows that as a hunter you have a permission to do a few others can't," Kurapika glowered. "You have access to other places and information that no one else does. You could take almost any action Rioleo."

"For the last time! Its Leorio!"

"Well then, let's hear your reason, Leorio," the captain mused.

"My reason? I'm not gonna tell or guess what you wanted me to say, so I'm just going straight to the point," Leorio disseminated. "Money! As a hunter I'll make loads of money, and then I can buy myself everything that I have always wanted! A huge mansion! A cool car! Top grade boost!," he laughed, pulling his hands in front of him as he faced his palms upwards, and slightly bent his fingers. Sliding his legs apart, he bent down a little bit and continued cackling.

His surroundings turned a gradient of pale yellow to dark orange. Hundreds of shiny yellow coins rapidly fell from above him, disappearing when they touched the ground with no sounds. His dark blue suit coat fluttering around him.

"I wonder if you could buy yourself some classes, Rioleo," Kurapika said, pulling the taller male out of his wild imaginations into reality.

"That's the third strike," Leorio abruptly stopped laughing as he lowered his head and closed his eyes. He sighed as he whipped his head back up, showing half of his left face to Kurapika. Shadows fell over the other side of his face. "Let's take it outside. You Kurta tribes are a bunch of dirty halfwit who knows nothing about manners," Leorio glowered .

"You take that back right now! Rioleo."

"I've had enough of you, lets go."

"Sure, anytime."

Leorio walked forward towards the door, passing the captain. Kurapika followed behind him, pulling out a pair of wooden swords linked together by a thread with a white bandage wrapped around the grip. As Leorio continued walking forward, he took out a short sheathed sword with his right hand.

"Hey!," the captain yelled out, but they just continued walking straight outside of the messy room, not giving a single glance at the captain. "I'm not through with you yet! Get back here!"

"Let them go," a familiar voice called out.

The older male turned around towards the owner of the voice. "Huh?"

"If you really want to know someone, you should try to know what it is that makes them feel angry, that was one of the things that Aunt Mito told me. And I believe its true." Gon was standing in front of the captain with his hands cu rled into a fist, hanging beside his thighs. "Whatever it is that makes both of those guys furious is obviously important. We shouldn't get in their way."

In the deck of the ship, where Kanzo was controlling the wooden steering wheel, two men barged into the room. They were the two men that threw the blew beanie guy overboard. "Kanzo! The main mast is going to crack!," the men alerted. He was wearing a green scarf tied on top of his head with a black tank top, showing his bulging biceps. The other men was just behind him. Opposite to the black tank top man, he have short spiky brown hair with the same sleeveless grey shirt as Kanzo.

"What?"

"Yeah, we better fix it or else... huh?" He gasped. The men behind him and Kanzo followed his sight as they gasped as well.

Meanwhile, a few feet from each other, Leorio and Kurapika was standing opposingly in the centre of the ship. The splashing of the water from the ocean dotted their face, sliding down as quickly as they came. The wind was harshly hitting their skin, blocking their ears with the whooshing sounds.

"Take back what you said right now and I'll forgive you! Rioleo." Kurapika demanded.

"No way! You first Kurapika. I'll never yield to you." Leorio pulled out his sword from it's scabbard with his left hand, throwing it onto the wooden floor beside his left.

"Let's fight!"

Leorio let out a battlecry as he lunged forward into the air, bringing his sword to the front. Following his actions, Kurapika brought his bokken in front of him as he jumped forward. His short blonde hair was flowing around his face with his tabard fluttering behind him.

Their swords clashed together making a cross as a lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating the dark sky as well as giving both of them a chance to look at each others condition. Not a single scratch have been made, but Leorio got to make a long cut at the hem of the blonde haired male's royal blue tabard.

The captain, Gon, Aile and revi hurriedly ran outside of the room, gasping at the scene before them.

"Hey! Guys! Stop it!," the brown haired girl yelled, stepping closer to them as she curled her hands into a fist, but they ignored her.

Revi frowned. "What are you doing?! Get back here!" He grabbed Aile's right shoulder, pulling her beside him as she struggled to free herself.

"I'm trying to help them!," Aile grunted.

"But you might get hurt!," Revi raised his voice as he was a bit angered by her statement and reckless actions. Aile turned around to look at him. There were tears pooling in the corner of her eyes. At this sight, Revi averted his gaze from her as he sighed. "Let's just stay here okay? They will stop. I promise," he looked back at her as she just nodded her head up and down. Aile turned back around to see Leorio and Kurapika as she rapidly blinked her eyes, trying to adjust her sight.

Landing back onto the ground opposingly, Leorio and Kurapika simultaneously turned around to face each other again. This time, Kurapika let out a battlecry, lunging forward to Leorio. Once again their weapons clashed together, forming a cross with a loud sharp noise.

Unknown to Kurapika and Leorio, Kanzo was climbing up onto the shroud of the ship, holding a plank with his left hand as the captain stared up at him with a worried expression covering his face.

Continuing on, Leorio smirked, "you know, you're not too bad." They jumped back away from each other.

"You're not so bad yourself," Kurapika grunted as they lunged forward again, colliding their weapons. Jumping away from each other, they abruptly stopped, heavily catching their breaths as they intensely glared at one another.

The captain stepped forward to the shroud, where Kanzo was currently climbing up. "Kanzo! Be careful up there!," he yelled. Kanzo just waved at him, signalling him that he was fine as he continued hammering the plank on the mast with a nail, leaving a faint sound of clacking.

The storm heavily rumbled as a big lightning flashed onto the mast of the ship. The captain immediately looked up at the mast, only to see Kanzo falling from the mast as he screamed. As the mast broke into large pieces, the shroud connecting to it broke, limply falling. "Kanzo!," the captain yelled, catching the others attention.

Although she was very far away from him, Aile ran towards him, leaving a thumping sound as her thin jacket flutter behind her. Her hair was harshly flowing behind her. Revi was alerted by the sound of her thumping footsteps, why does she have to be so stubborn? Revi ran after her.

Kurapika and Leorio quickly turned their head to the captain and followed his gaze, which led them to see Kanzo, who was screaming and falling midway into the ocean at the same time. Simultaneously, they ran towards him and to the railing, trying to grasp his leg. Suddenly, Gon jump off from the ship and quickly hugged Kanzo's waist.

Kurapika immediately followed his actions, jumping off from the ship and grabbing Gon's leg. Same as Leorio, but instead he grabbed Kurapika's leg and stuck his foot on the railings like a hook, supporting himself and the others. Soon, their body made contact with the hull of the ship, leaving a thudding sound as their clothes fluttered.

Aile abruptly halted as she hold onto the railings with her hands and sighed out of relief when she saw that Kanzo was saved. Suddenly, a huge wave harshly hit the other side of the  ship, harshly tilting it to her side. Aile let go of the railings as she was not holding them tightly and fell off from the ship, screaming, which made Kanzo and the others turned their head towards the owner of the voice with guilty expression.

Hearing her screams, Revi ran faster to the railing and barely grasped onto Aile's right leg with his left hand as he hold the railings with his other hand. Aile got in contact with the hull of the ship, leaving a soft thudding sound as well.

Note:

I'm so so so sorry for publishing this chapter super late! I published this chapter last week, but when I opened Wattpad to see my notifications, I noticed that there was no notifications relating to my story. So, I checked my story and freaked out when I found out that it wasn't published yet.

I guess there was an error when I published it ;-; After I published it, I was super busy with my school works.

With that, I made the chapter a little bit longer. Sorry for rambling T-T
