Celest Chapter 1

A very long time ago in 460 AD two twins are born. Both left out in the cold on a December night. Their future would be an adventure like none other but for now, one girl will be a princess and the other a peasant.

Celest was the Princesses. She had long golden blond hair and a beautiful yellow gown and she had piercing green eyes. It had been 16 years later since she was found, it was her sixteenth birthday and in honor of her birthday, her father (the King) held a ball. Everyone wanted to go to see Celest but, she was spoiled and cared for no one but money and the crown. When her father announced that he would choose a Prince for her to marry she was shocked. Of course, she knew she would have to get married but not so soon. Celest was in her room getting ready with her Mother when her Father told her this. She was prepared to barf. "Celest, you must make a grand entrance you will be Queen tomorrow!" Her Father walked back and forth as he talked. She just rolled her eyes. Later he walked out of the room to announce her, her stomach twisted and she felt light headed.

When the doors flew open everyone stopped and stared at her. She made her way down the staircase but tripped over the fourth stair and tumbled down onto the ballroom floor. When she looked up everyone was staring at her wide-eyed. She looked around the room and her eyes stopped on a girl in a brown filthy dress she had long dark hair but the same eyes as Celest. She dismissed it as a peasant girl wannabe and turned to the boy she was dancing with. A handsome guy in a blue vest and a white undershirt. He wore a golden crown that fell into his face when he helped her up. She stood there Gaping at him like he killed someone. When she was on her feet he whispered something into her ear. "It's not polite to stare." As he walked off she tripped over her own feet but caught herself in time. The next ten minutes were people checking if she was ok. The night dragged on, as the sun sunk lower and the moon rose, all Celest could think about was that peasant girl she had seen. She tried to look for her but, she must have left.

When the party was over her Father came into her room. "Celest? Darling come sit." He sat down on one of two chairs in the corner of her room. She walked over and sat on the wooden chair her Father continued to speak. "I know you must be scared ruling a kingdom on your own. And after what happened today but, that peasant girl? Yeah, the guards chased her out of the castle so no need to worried darling. She did put up a fight though, I mean seriously she was punching and screaming and kicking!" He rambled on like that for a while then left. She looked outside her window all she could see where lanterns in the streets but, not beyond the castle gates. She was forbidden to go outside the gates.

When she was little she snuck out she barely got to the Crooked River before she was grabbed by the ear and dragged inside. She never tried to sneak out since. As she lay in her bed she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
