Epilogue
"What do you mean you haven't seen him in months, Anti?"
The glitch flickered just a little, trying to keep it in check the best he could while his brother interrogated him.
"Can we not do this right now? I'm trying ta eat here" he stuffed his face with salty fries.
Marvin raised a brow at him and Jackie rolled his eyes. The two were available to hang out today to spend time with the glitch and they all decided to grab some fast food. Needless to say, they didn't realize how much Anti could and would eat. They were never prepared for it.
Three cheeseburgers, two large fries, an order of cheese curds and one large milkshake. It was his favorite order and he didn't care if he was in pain later. He'd indulge himself.
Henrik would often chastise him about his eating habits but there was nothing he could do about it. He was unstoppable.
"Look, all we're saying is that he DID apologize" Jackie hated to admit it, "And he did help you out of your little static hiding hole. And you haven't spoken to him since that day? It's been months, dude"
"So?"
Marvin groaned, "Forget it, Jackie. There's no getting through that thick skull of his" he chuckled at Anti's 'glare'.
"Fook off." Anti threw a fry at him, "He tried to kill me. He killed Chase. He's an asshole with a stick up his ass-"
"Did you happen to forget everything you did to him?" Jackie gave him a look.
"Hey, man, I was on drugs and I still took responsibility. That's better than what most people would do."
"He IS right" Marvin relented.
Anti stuck his tongue out and fixed his new studded black jacket. Jackie narrowed his eyes at him, "Please tell me you asked Chase first before using his credit card again?"
Anti just shrugged, "Whatcha gonna do about it, cape-boy? . . . What? At least I'm not buying drugs or alcohol with his money. I'm sober . . . . . assholes" he ignored Jackie's death stare.
"Still" Jackie persisted, "You need a friend."
"For the last time, I'm not gay. I'm . . . . what's it called? Pan?"
"Not that kind of friend, Anti"
"Ah. You mean a 'friend' friend. Hm. I don't think we'd have a lot in common"
"Probably more than you think" Marvin chuckled, "Besides, you need something to keep you busy. Someone to spend some time around that's not Chase, his kids or the other Septics. You know?"
"Are you kicking me out of the group already?" Anti taunted them, "Fuck, guys. I mean, damn. Is this because I didn't pay you back for the weed, Marv? Look, I'll get the money. I'll raid Chase's dresser cash."
Jackie swiped him upside the head and they all chuckled, "You know what we mean, you prick"
Anti sucked down the rest of his milkshake and groaned, "I'll probably eat the rest of this at home. See you fuckers later"
Before they could say anything, he glitched out with his food, making Marvin use a charm on the people in the lobby.
Anti knew they were somewhat right, though. He had been spending a LOT of time around them all. Perhaps too much time. Maybe he was suffocating them with his presence now? . . . . . In a non-murderous way?
When he glitched home to Chase's, he flopped on the couch, ignoring the children already sitting there and threw his food on the coffee table.
"Uncle Anti!" Kallie laughed, "Get off! You're heavy!"
Sammy had a pencil in his hand ready to prick his leg with it, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Anti glared at the boy, "Don't you fooking dare you little shite."
Sammy just laughed and shoved his legs off of him. Anti groaned dramatically, "God, how are you two so rude? You're so mean to me!"
They giggled at him.
"You know that's your own fault, Anti" Chase popped in the room, having heard Anti's drama from the kitchen, "Bro, where's Jackie and Marv? You glitch without them again?"
"Oh yeah."
Chase rolled his eyes, "Forgot I wanted them over to see the kids?"
Anti grumpily hugged Kallie and Sammy to him forcefully, "You KNOW I'm they're favorite uncle. I don't share well, bro"
Sammy slapped Anti's full stomach suddenly making Anti groan, "Fooking demon. Fine." He rolled off the couch and up onto his feet, "I forgot but it's not my fault. They were pestering me"
"You really should have a talk with him"
"Not you too!"
Kallie tugged sweetly on his hand, "Will Mr. Dark be our new uncle?"
Anti's eye twitched, "Who told you that?"
"Uncle JJ"
"I'm so raiding his store later."
"Alright kids, go wash up for dinner! Leave your uncle be"
With the kids having ran off, Chase snickered at Anti, "You two do have a lot in common, though"
"Not you, too. Dammit. What if I don't want to talk to him! Who's to say he'd want to talk to me? You don't see him trying to get in touch with ME! Why should I anyway? I don't need a friend! I don't do good with . . . friends"
"Anti. Dude. Bro. . . I love you. I do. But holy fook, man"
He knew that tone and he didn't want to hear any more, "FINE. . . . FINE" He held his hands up dramatically, "I'll get a hold of the Noir fuck. Happy?"
"You have no idea." he watched as Anti stomped up the stairs, "And stop stealing money from my dresser! I know it was you!"
Anti paced around his room that the kids were currently using while they stayed there for the weekend. It had now been four months since his return. Why would he go now all of a sudden? Should he? Wouldn't it just look weird out of the blue? Anti snarled. He never usually had to worry about that sort of crap.
And should he call, text or just show up? But then who would answer the door? Would he be sarcastic in a text and how would he tell since he was always so emotionless? Would he be more awkward talking over the phone rather than in person?
Anti groaned loudly before just winging it.
He glitched suddenly in front of a large mansion he remembered ALL too well.
"Maybe I shouldn't be here. I should go. What if Google or Bing answer instead?"
But he was already in front of the door and knocked.
"I shouldn't have done that. I could still escape now"
He contemplated it.
Until the door opened, that is. Host opened the door, "The Host would like to welcome Antisepticeye to Raspy Hill and apologizes for the wait. Dark is upstairs. The Host politely asked Antisepticeye to follow him inside to Darkiplier's office"
Without waiting on an answer, Host left the door open and started walking. Anti was flabbergasted but regarded him and followed close behind.
"How the fuck did you answer the door so quick and knew it was me?"
"The Host thought of Anti's questions with amusement and answered him that the Host knows everything. He knew Anti would come to talk with Dark and had been nervous about doing so for a while"
"I'm not nervous! Fook off" he lashed out, "Does Dark know?"
The Host led Anti up the stairs to Dark's office and replied with a soft 'no', telling Anti to be quiet now as a few Ipliers within the residence still have vendettas' against the glitch"
"Right" he nodded, remembering Google and what he did to him.
"Google is fine, now by the way the Host provided. He's just grumpy is all"
Anti just shook his head as Host finally brought him to a nice door and knocked quickly.
Anti's heart was pumping and he remembered all the crap his family gave him about him and Dark and he started to blush involuntarily. He didn't feel that way at ALL about Dark but their words still effected him.
"Come in" his deep voice sounded.
Host opened the door, "Dark. I believe you have a guest and owe me $20, said the Host. You should know better than to make a bet with me."
Dark sighed, seeing Anti behind him, "Dammit. Never making drunk bets with you again. Damien's addiction really comes through sometimes. Come in Anti. I'll get you your money later, Host"
Host pushed Anti inside and closed the door behind him making things even MORE awkward.
"Anti" Dark smirked just slightly at Anti's flustered expression.
Anti scoffed at his amusement and straightened, "Prick. You bet on whether I'd come over?"
He shrugged, "I mean I don't know WHY but yes. Host has a habit of swindling me and I keep falling for it for some reason. What can I do for you?"
"Oh. . . .uh" Anti's awkwardness kicked in, "I was just wondering. . . . . you know"
"I don't know"
"Fook off" he ran a hand over his pulled-up hair.
Dark just smirked.
"Well that's no way to speak to a friend" Dark teased.
Anti narrowed his eyes at him, "I haven't spoken to you in four months. Before that it was three months. Before THAT. . . . I destroyed literally everything you cared about. And we were enemies"
"Hm" Dark hummed, "I don't care about my suits THAT much. I replaced them"
"After bitching about them and trying to kill me"
"Why ARE you here?"
"Fuck if I know. I should just go and-"
"Want to hang out?"
Anti looked at him strangely but Dark's eyes told him he was serious and only meant well.
Chase fed his kids and chuckled, hearing them upstairs playing video games. He felt bad he practically shoved Anti to 'make a friend' with Dark but he really thought they'd hit it off.
That and he really just needed some time to himself and the kids. He loved Anti but he could really be clingy. He knew the other teased him about it and how him and Dark would look so 'cute' together but the single father really just wanted the best for him.
It's been difficult getting Anti used to a normal life and the first time they did anything new, Anti would just observe and stay away to just creepily watch. He didn't understand some things but they were always there to help, making every new event special for the glitch, even if it was just going to the movie theater. The first time they went there though, they had to stop him from hacking the projector and ordering the entire concessions.
He hoped Anti and Dark did get along and Anti wouldn't start trouble again with the Iplier. Dark had graciously agreed with Sean and Mark to do a scene with him and Anti (Anti still doesn't know) and they all knew it would be great and the fans would love it. They just had to hope Anti didn't do anything stupid.
He had stayed away from drugs, clubbing, and too much alcohol although Marvin still got him to buy some weed or 'special oils' here and there. Luckily Anti wasn't that much into sex just yet and if he was, he at least was keeping it quiet. God, Chase hoped he didn't end up knocking someone up one day.
Chase went to the freezer and pulled himself out some ice cream, waiting for Anti to come back. In the back of his mind, he also hoped the two weren't. . . . . doing other things. But it wasn't as if he could stop that from happening. He just didn't want Anti to do anything stupid or something he'd regret.
Chase groaned at the thought, 'Fook, now it sounds like he's my third child. But what if Dark hurts him?'
Before he could think on it too much, he switched the TV on and watched some Netflix.
"Didn't peg you as a video game kind of guy. Too bad you suck!"
Dark rolled his eyes as he leaned back in his chair, "Perhaps I'm just going easy on you"
"Oh fook off with that, ya prick."
"How do I know you're not hacking it, making yourself win?"
"Jaysus, Dark, I'm not a monster. . ..anymore"
Dark and Anti were playing a scary multiplayer video game in his room. Everyone knew Dark liked the horror genre but not too many people knew of his love for video games. He made Mark SWEAR not to tell anyone.
They were currently in Dark's room and the Iplier ego had changed into some casual wear, having gotten quite fond of it recently.
"Did you hear of Sean and Mark's newest idea as of late?" Dark changed the subject.
Now Anti wasn't stupid. He caught on immediately and put down the controller, giving Dark a glare, "Is this what this is all about? Sean and Mark are doing something together, huh? Doing. . . what? A video? I'm guessing an ego video since you asked. . . . and I'm guessing. . . . it has something to do with us?"
Dark seemed impressed, "Actually, yes."
Anti huffed and went to put his jacket back on, "I'm fooking leaving"
Dark appeared in front of him, "Why? We were having a fun time, weren't we?"
"You're just trying to get on my good side so I'll do the fooking ego scene bullshite"
Dark rolled his eyes, "No. Not really, actually. I just wanted us to try and get along. For our sake AND our creators"
Anti snorted, "You don't really actually want to spend time around me"
He tried to glitch out only for Dark to stop him, "Look. . . . I know we've had our differences. I know you've been through a lot of shit. So have I. You don't trust people. I get that. We both got that in common. There are days I don't trust most the people in this house."
Anti crossed his arms, waiting for Dark to continue.
"After our . . . . fight, I've come to realize that's not good for anyone, most definitely not ourselves. You went through a lot, especially when you came back with a human body. I was just like you at first, learning and Wilford was MY Chase. You've . . . . learned a lot about yourself and your actions. You regret the things you've done in the past."
Dark gently placed his hand on Anti's shoulder, "What I'm trying to say is . . . . birds of a feather stick together. I want to be there for you as a friend. I think we both need that. Hm? What do you say? I'm still learning and so are you. We can learn from each other."
Anti finally sighed after a few moments and rolled his eyes, "Alright, emo, you want to be the beast this time?" he went back to the video game, silent ushering Dark back over.
Dark smirked, "Sure. When you got to be back home by the way?"
"Chase ain't my mother. I'll go back whenever you kick me out"
This time, Dark finally beat him at the game but he still didn't know if Anti let him win or not. When he returned home, Chase yelled at him for being out too long. Anti just teased him about being overprotective, being a brat like always.
"Hey Chase?" Anti asked him one night. They were watching a scary movie together since the kids were back home with Stacey.
"Yeah?"
"You ever get those nightmares still?"
Chase smiled a little, "Actually, no. Don't ask me how. Maybe I just made peace with it finally"
"How do you make peace with something like that?"
Chase turned his head to face him, "Why?"
Anti shrugged, "Curious"
Chase teasingly took his hat off and plopped it on Anti's head, "Guess I forgave myself finally."
"But how?" Anti kept the hat on, most likely just ignoring it.
"Something bothering YOU, Anti? You've never asked me about my dreams, dude"
"I was in your head. I experienced your nightmares. Even then, I could barely handle them. What about your sad pills?"
"Every once in a while I feel shitty but that's fine. I can deal as long as I got my kids and my family" he pat Anti's shoulder.
"How could you just. . . .did you really mean what you said back then? That you forgive me?"
"Yes, Anti, I forgive you"
"Why? You really shouldn't"
"Because you regretted it. And seeing that pain in your eyes and soul hurt. Even with my pain, I didn't want you to feel that way. Because I know what that feels like. You can't just live your life like that. It's not good for anyone."
"So your nightmares are gone?"
"I mean sometimes I get one here and there but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. Stop feeling sorry Anti."
"But I-"
Chase placed his hand on his head over his hat, "Dude"
Anti sighed, "Fine . . . I get it. . . . . . . Thanks"
Chase smirked, "So how were things with Dark~?"
"Fook off. We're just friends"
"Oh you're friends now?! Do tell~"
Anti just sighed and stood up, flopping Chase's hat back on his own head, "Night, bro"
Chase just chuckled, "Goodnight Anti. Sweet dreams, bro. Love ya"
He could just lightly hear Anti mumble as he went up the stairs.
"Love you too, asshole"
Now it's over :) Just had some cleaning up to do before I went to another new story. Let me know if I missed any plotholes! Love you guys! See you in the next story :D
