Chapter Thirteen || One Hell Of A Weekend

{a/n}

so, danganronpa fans, let's see who gets this chapter's reference!

A week later, it happened. The first disappearance. And it left us with only four roommates.

The knock on my door woke me up from a light slumber I hadn't meant to have. The headphones I had been listening to music with had fallen from my head, but I was still sat up in my bed with my laptop on my lap, the internet opened up on a quotev tab with a few notifications.

"What is it..?" I asked, sleepily moving the laptop and getting up as someone- Jeshire- entered.

"It's Lola. Lola and Kat, actually, and she won't speak to me or the espresso."

I nodded, a look of worry planting itself over my calm yet sleepy one, and stepped out of my room.

Lola was sat on the armchair she had been sat on when I first met her, sobbing into her hands.

One of the chairs at the table had gone, and so had the other armchair.

"Lola?" I asked. She went quiet and looked up, wiping her eyes.

"What happened?"

"Kat just... she just... she disappeared."

I sat on the couch beside her armchair and smiled softly, to calm her. "What do you mean, sweetie? I didn't quite understand."

She took a shaky breath before repeating herself, though now more calm.

"Kat... she was sat on the other armchair. We were chatting... and then halfway through her sentence, she just stopped, gasped, widening her eyes and disappeared... along with the armchair and one of the chairs from the table..."

I smiled. "Thank you for telling me. I'm sure she'll be fine, wherever she's gone with our two chairs."

Lola gave a little laugh.

"Yeah. I hope you're right."

"James! Breakfast's ready!" Storm called out.

No response.

"James!"

No response.

"Storm, he's not in his room, I just got out of the bathroom, so he's not there either. I'm telling you, he's gone out or something."

It was quiet for a minute, as Storm realized something.

"There's only two chairs at the table. And two armchairs."

"So?"

"I know James is weird and all, but who takes chairs with them when they go out?"

"..."

"Something's going on, Matt."

"Something's going on, Jeshire."

We had gone to sit out on the empty courtyard, just me and Jeshire, to talk about the disappearance of Kat somewhere where Lola wouldn't hear and get upset.

"I know that, come on, Y/N!"

"Why did she disappear? Why did the chairs disappear? Does that mean we can assume she won't be coming back? We need to answer them three questions, hopefully before anyone else disappears, so we can know what happens to them."

"But how-"

"Y/N! Jess! You're out here early."

Ja'far walked up to us, smiling.

Jeshire looked over at me, a joking smile now on her face.

"I remembered, don't worry."

We turned back to Ja'far, seeing there was now a blonde boy stood beside him.

I was gonna tell Ja'far about the disappearance of Kat, but now there was no chance of that... I hadn't seen this boy ever before, so who knows what he's like?

"Who's this?" Jeshire asked, smiling at the boy so she didn't seem rude.

"Yunan. He's one of my roommates."

"Ah yeah, we've never met any of your roommates before, have we?" Jeshire smiled over at Yunan. "Nice to meet you, Yunan. I'm Jeshire."

"And I'm Y/N." I said, smiling too.

Though now that Yunan and Ja'far were here, I would have to keep quiet about Kat's disappearing act. Them mystery questions would have to wait.

We talked for a while, until others started to come down from their apartments- including Storm, who called me over to him.

I excused myself from the little chat and went up to him, noticing he looked quite panicked.

"What is it?" I asked, looking up at him because he was way too tall.

"Remember James?"

"Yes."

"He's disappeared."

It was like everything stopped. My eyes widened and I looked up at him, shocked.

"He's gone missing along with a seat at your table and in your lounge area, right?"

He nodded. "How do you know?"

"One of my roommates went missing, along with the seats she would have used. Me and Jeshire came down here to talk about it but then a friend showed up with his roommate."

Yunan's POV

"Where did Y/N go?" I asked, actually a little worried that she had only left because she didn't like me... did I do something wrong..? Am I not likeable?

Little did I know, I was actually, visibly, tearing up.

Jeshire smiled. "No need to get upset, she doesn't hate you."

"How did you.."

She laughed. "I'm an esper, you see."

"Esper..?"

"Not really. It's just a guess. But anyway, she went with Storm. Probably getting engaged, if you asked me." She joked.

"Wait, she likes him?" Ja'far asked... a little upset, if you asked my opinion, but Jeshire just gave another laugh.

"Not sure really, but let's put that aside, because it sounded to me like you were jealous..."

"I-I'm not!"

"You did sound a little upset at the thought of her liking someone else.." I commented, unknowingly making it worse and causing the snowy haired male to blush, the pink contrasting with his pale face.

"N-No I d-didn't! Shush!"

Yurio's POV

Lola had retired to her room not long after the other two had left, so I had taken it upon myself to investigate what I could... not that I really cared where Kat had gone or what would happen to her.

The door to her bedroom wouldn't open, as if it was locked. From what I know, the only doors that would lock are the bathroom door and the apartment door.

So why would hers not open? If it wasn't for Lola saying Kat had disappeared in front of her eyes, I would have thought this was just a prank- which involved her locking herself in her room with the furniture we had deemed gone.

But none of this made sense!

Normally, people don't disappear.

Normally, paranormal shit like this doesn't happen.

And normally, if it did, we would all wake up because it was a dream.

"...That's right. I'll wake up now and go skating. I'll forget about all this and-"

My eyes widened. I could see something. What had once been Kat's door was the face of someone- my grandfather.

"Yuratchka, you're awake... I'm glad you're okay."

"Did I disappear...?"

My grandfather seemed confused, and someone on the other side of me started to explain what was going on.

"Yuri, you've been here the whole time and haven't gone anywhere. For a month or two now you've been in a coma, caused by an ice skating accident. Don't you remember? You were trying to beat the highest score set by Viktor Nikiforov, and take his place."

"Take his... place?"

"He went missing a month before your accident."

It doesn't make sense. Why am I here all of a sudden? What happened to Lola and Jeshire, to Y/N? Is this what Kat saw?

...

"LSOA... is a place for kids in comas... huh?"

Considering the setting, the person who could only be a doctor looked over to my grandfather.

"He must just be confused. We should give him some time to clear his head."

And with that, I was alone in the room.

Did I make it all up?

Lola's POV

Yurio had gone quiet, and I was starting to get worried, but fear stopped me from leaving my room to see if he was okay. If he had disappeared too, I would be alone in the apartment. Something I didn't want to happen considering the context of this day and situation. It would be way too eerie...

"Yurio?" I called out.

No answer.

"Yurio..?"

He's gone.

Y/N's POV

After the chat with Storm, I returned to the three.

Ja'far was a lot more overprotective than he ever was and immediately requested I sit beside him.

I did... and I half wish I didn't.

"Who was that? Do you like him? Is he your boyfriend?!"

"Calm down! Storm is my friend and I don't like him in that way."

"Are you sure Y/N? I saw you wink at him."

"More like just blinked.."

"And Jehire said you two would be getting engaged!"

I laughed.

"You believed that?"

"Well I have to consider the worst!"

"The worst? Oh, you're jealous."

He blushed. "Am not!"

"We had this conversation earlier. He totally is." Jeshire whispered to me.

I smiled. "Alright, okay, let's say you aren't. But you do like me."

"Y- No!"

"You were going to say yes... but I'll leave it at that."

He blushed and we all continued talking, about things less love related... and just when I thought there would be no more talk of the disappearances...

"Y/N! Jeshire! Please come.." A distraught voice called. A look towards the apartments (or just an educated guess at who would want us) revealed it was Lola, with a tearstained face.

I stood up and excused myself once more to run over to her.

"Lola," I asked. "What's wrong?"

"Yurio's gone too..." She said, in a shaky, weak voice.

"Okay, it'll be fine. Come sit over here with me and Jeshire, okay? We might go up to check but you don't have to come-"

And she disappeared.
