You awoke with a keen awareness that you were being watched. You tried desperately to open your eyes, realising with unease that they already were open. Your vision could not penetrate the vanta black of the room but through touch, you knew you were in bed. You tried to speak, but all that came out was a soft groan.
“I must apologize. It seems my hunger has gotten the better of me,” came a far off voice, as if it were in the room with you but spoken through a non physical presence, “I was unaware of what I was doing to you until it was too late. Do not worry, I can promise you have not made a fool of yourself tonight.”
“Sebastian…” you muttered, able to put a name to that rich cadence even with the haze in your head. In fact, that may have been the only thing you could think about. Things about Sebastian. Sebastian... Sebastian...
You wanted to ask what was happening but part of you didn’t care much for knowing, you believed you were content to just exist in the demon’s presence. It was as if your body ached for him, ached to be held, to be entrapped, to be devoured. If he was to consume you then, you would have thanked him for it. You held such unbridled desire to be destroyed, body and soul, by a being that awakened a primitive terror within you. As if to beg him to just take you then and there for fear that you would suffer having to go another day of not being one with him.
If he wanted you, you would freely part with yourself. Happy to sate a demon’s hunger, or to simply whet his palette. You would have been satisfied with being of little sustenance, just as long as he’d have you. You needed him to have you, to take you. You would give… and give… and give.
You heard a creak as a weight shifted near your head and by your torso. Moving to identify the pressure through touch, you could feel a gloved hand and a clothed thigh. He was sitting on the edge of the mattress leaning over you. “During the dance we shared, I caught on to a peculiar scent lingering on your soul.” he began, bringing himself down until his cheek was touching yours. With his mouth barely gracing your jaw he smirked, “Something so delicious, like a pleasure I am forbidden to indulge in.” You turned your head, surprised to finally see something through the pitch, his eyes, “I must taste it.”
You welcomed the kiss with fervent desperation, bringing one hand up to rest on the nape of his neck and the other to tangle in his hair. Nose pressed into your cheek, his lips were soft and warm, his tongue-
You heard a sound almost akin to thunder rumbling in the clouds coming from Sebastian’s throat, at the same time, the hand not planted beside your head had come to rest at the base of your skull. Thumb pressed behind your ear. He was pulling you in, deepening the kiss and openly admitting his own desperation. Like a man starved, finally taking a single bite.
He pulled away, which he might have done for your sake. Your lungs screamed for air but you hadn’t heard it over the pounding of your heart. "As I thought. There's a vengeance on your soul," he told you, with a breathiness in his voice that made you squirm.
You weren’t sure what that kiss did but you seemed to have enough clarity in your mind for you to think of what he’d just said. “Vengeance… on my soul?” The confusion you expected but the fragility of your voice surprised you.
As the darkness in the room receded, you could finally see the rest of his face, mere inches away from your own, “Yes, I had wondered why your soul attracted me so much in the beginning,” he started and he leant down to bury his nose in the crook of your neck, “You can think of it like a curse, during one’s dying breath their anger, fury and hatred had been directed towards you.”
You thought about it for a moment, processing that he had just told you that you pissed someone off so much that they cursed you. You had no idea what that curse entailed but surely it was nothing good. Thinking back to all the people you’d made angry or hurt, you couldn’t think of anyone who would have died mad at you. Confused, you opened your mouth to speak but were cut off.
“This is not a human curse. The taste is distinctly occult.” Was he implying that some kind of inhuman being had hated you so much it had imbued that hatred in your soul when it died? What?
“But I’ve never- I don’t even know any supernatural beings aside from you, the undertaker and Grell and none of you are dead so…” You didn’t know what questions were more important to ask in that moment, “What does that curse even mean? Is something bad going to happen to me?”
Sebastian hummed, rising away from you as he smoothed his hair behind his ear, “That I do not know. If it were a human who’d inflicted it upon you, then I’d say there would be nothing to worry about.”
Great, so by that he meant worry. You turned to the side, curling in on yourself a little whilst still keeping your gaze on the man who shifted to stand beside the bed. With all that curse stuff on your mind, you didn’t even have the time to fully enjoy that kiss.
You wanted to ask him about it, to perhaps ask for the reason so as to find an excuse for it to happen again. Curse schmurse, there wasn’t anything you could do about it at that moment, so who could blame you for wanting to use your time indulging in more pleasurable thoughts?
Sensing you had more than the curse on your mind, the demon thought to clear up some of the confusion, “As for what I’d done to you during our dance, you could call that,” He waved a hand in the air, “Charming. We demon’s do that to make our prey more pliable. We can make you bend to our whims much easier that way.” He straightened his coat and tie, “That is what I had meant when I mentioned preparing you to consume the other day, though not at that pace.”
“I don't mind-” you blurted out, more than happy to let him charm you or whatever a thousand times over if it meant you got to make out with him.
His raised brow and smirk portrayed a look of amusement. “That kiss allowed me to consume some of the effect. You should be back to normal after some rest.”
“But I still-” You wracked your mind, trying to quickly think of a scenario in which the two of you end up kissing some more because, by god, if that wasn’t everything and more that you wanted in that moment, you didn’t know what was, “I still want you to kiss me, t-to touch…” That was far too embarrassing to finish, the apples of your cheeks suffused with colour. You buried your face in your pillow.
Sebastian chuckled airily, “Oh? Is that to do with my demonic abilities, or your lack of better judgement?”
“I don’t know, both?”
He hummed and pulled at the hems of his gloves, “An inviting offer to be sure. Though I would enjoy spending my time tasting all that you have to offer, I’m afraid I have my duties to attend to.” His expression was lascivious, “Ah, but you are quite tempting.”
You shot up, sitting with the backs of your knees hitting the edge of the mattress. You plead silently with the demon, hoping that he would, against his code of poise and perfection, give in to his desires and ravish you right then and there.
He stepped towards you, placing himself between your legs with one knee on the mattress, and leant forward with slender fingers sliding under your dress and along your right thigh. You fell back with the motion, the sheets rustling under the two of you as your head and his hand came down to rest on them. “I suppose my duties can wait for a moment.”
He brought his lips down onto yours with a smirk you felt more than saw, his brows pinched together as he tilted his head to deepen the kiss even further. Your breath caught in your throat and your hands snaked their way from his neck to the sides of his face, your fingers curling at his jaw, one thumb pressed softly onto his cheek while the other rested at the corner of his mouth. You could feel yourself pulling him in and at that point you weren’t sure who was more desperate.
His jaw moved under your palms as his lips melded with yours. His hot breath tangled with your own as you parted for only a second, his cattish stare cast upon you, alight with more than just demonic energy. He closed the gap between the two of you again, coming from a different angle each time your lips and tongues met. Sounds of pleasure from the both of you joined the sounds of parting and joining lips, together they eclipse the roaring of your heartbeat.
The fingers that lingered on your thigh became tight as he grabbed at the side of your leg with the full breadth of his hand, giving you a firm squeeze. He slid his hand to the bend of your knee and pulled up until your thigh was pressed closely to his side. “You know,” he began, pulling away from you with a slight tug to your bottom lip between his teeth, “an eternity in hell is all that awaits those who willingly lay with a demon.”
You opened your eyes, half lidded in both fatigue and arousal, “You say that as if I didn’t already know.” With your admission, Sebastian’s mouth curled at the corners and the thumb that lingered there moved to swipe at his bottom lip, earning it a kiss as his hand slid down the back of your thigh. You had to suppress a shudder as the pads of his fingers slipped beneath the hem of your undergarments.
You rolled your bottom lip between your teeth, already missing the feeling of his mouth on yours after mere seconds of being apart. The bed creaked as he pushed his thigh further between your legs, creating friction you wholeheartedly welcomed.
Then, with a look of frustration that crossed the butler’s face, the whole frenzy had come to an end. He turned his head towards your door and sucked in a breath between clenched teeth, “The master is summoning me,” he told you flatly, schooling both the look and sound of annoyance out of his demeanor.
You were ready to curse up a storm as you brought the heels of your palms to rub at your closed eyes, fingers digging into your scalp. You were that fucking close. You droned a sigh as you felt Sebastian pull away from you entirely.
“I had hoped that he would grow out of the habit of waking in the night.” His hand was already wrapped around his closed pocket watch by the time you could bear to look at him, “Such a shame. It seems we will have to continue this another time.”
You didn’t even know how to respond, maybe the unbelievability of the situation had finally dawned on you as your clarity returned, so you just nodded your head and watched as the demon disappeared beyond the door. One thing was for certain, sleep would not come easily to you that night.
