Trapped in a flower

'I look upon the stars,
And wonder where you are.
Why leave me  alone?
In a world that feels so closed.
You told me I could chase;
The dreams I couldn't face.
But let me tell you, no,
I can't dream no more...

Once you left you took,
Away...
My sleep but I seem to care no more.
You left me so lost,
Alone...'

She sang in a sweet melody that calmed the morning air; it took all her efforts to stop the spill of tears that threatened to break her down. Wondering what caused her such sorrows, she looked up at the sky. Mesmerising colours were painted on the blue canvass: like an artist's delicate masterpiece, full of softness and cries. A concoction of violet, navy and azure shaded the sky, with cloves of scarlet, Amber and honey lemon spattered at the tips between the sea and sky— like scorching fire blazing the tortured sea. Specks of white began to bloom as the sun began to rise and shower its light.

A smile formed across her lips as she watched the lilies dancing in the breeze. Sprinkling water on the moist soil, she grabbed a branch and placed it on a lily.

"I Lily of... umm lilies summon thee for companionship." She laughed at her own childishness and wondered if living alone has turned her into a lunatic, nonetheless, she continued "thou shall be my friend and protector."

"I Luke of lilies, accept thous proposal and shall protect you agains all harm, forever."

Lily's head whipped around but no human presence greeted her sight.

"Love, down here." Was that Luke. "Yes, the flower your glaring at is Luke"

She took a step back.

"Do not dare take a step back and listen." Lily obeyed. Flowers were beautiful but her father had always warned her of their dangers.

"Our blood contains to many dark secrets,"

"Our blood?" Since when did flowers have blood, pondered Lily.

"It's a long tale but before that you need to survive— Mr Huntsman is going to kill you anytime soon, he has killed you about twenty five time without any luck, he is running out of patience, and before you ask, you aren't immortal, but our queen... and my love. You trapped us inside flowers and due to your true act of bravery, something happened. I don't know what but you have to survive, if you don't—" it paused and thought, "I will never be reunited with the love of my life and soon, everyone you saved will just be another dead flower."

Lily was perplexed: what it said was very simple and to her astonishment, she understood it, but what confused her was how? How will she survive; if she couldn't after twenty five attempts, was there a chance?"

"Okay Luke, I'll  survive" she had to go home and think straight.

A searing jab of pain burned its way through her chest as her eyes lingered on Mr Huntsman...
