~time skip~

"This is an exciting week for you guys, right? Week thirty is a huge deal."

"I'm miserable."

Dr. Song laughs as she watches the screen during the ultrasound. "It's completely normal to feel like crap ninety percent of the time, Taehyung. You're almost finished."

Taehyung sighs as he watches the screen as well. "Thank god."

The past ten weeks have been the literal definition of a living hell for Taehyung. He was in no way prepared for the obstacles he had to overcome during this horrible ~ I mean, these past ten weeks.

From swollen feet to back pains, he felt like his body was seriously kicking his ass. And on top of that, his mood swings grew worse every day...at least that's what Jeongguk tells him.

Taehyung himself found it perfectly reasonable to cry for an hour straight after watching one of his favorite shitty rom-coms.

"My shoes don't fit, my clothes don't fit, I can't sleep without having to pee every ten minutes." Taehyung lists tiredly as he watches the screen. "I knew it was going to get harder. But I didn't expect to feel so bad."

"That's understandable, Taehyung. And I know it's hard. But we have to try to keep them in as close to the due date as possible. I told you that last week when the Braxton hicks started." Dr. Song says standing and turning the lights on before handing Taehyung some paper towels.

"Did you ever find out anything about his arm?" Jeongguk asks as he helps Taehyung sit up after he's wiped all the jelly off.

"Yes. So I looked into some of your earlier ultrasound photos and I noticed that one of the boys has shifted slightly." Dr. Song starts explaining. "He's pushing on your sciatic nerve. Which is causing carpal tunnel in your right arm."

"What does that mean?" Taehyung asks with a sigh. It's like he couldn't catch a break. It was always something.

"Nothing serious. We can get you some treatment to help relieve the pain." The woman says. "But it's nothing to worry about. I'm sure he'll shift again and get right off that sciatic nerve."

Taehyung nods. "Okay."

"Also, baby one is transverse currently and the other is breech. Which, in your case, is completely okay." Dr. Song continues. "Because you will be undergoing a cesarean section when it's time to deliver."

"Okay. Thank you, Dr. Song." Jeongguk says with a small smile. "You've really helped us out a lot through this."

"It's not over yet. But it will be soon." The woman smiles. "You guys are going to be great parents."

Taehyung forces a smile as Dr. Song leaves the room. Quickly dropping it when she's gone. "I don't think I can get through ten weeks of feeling like this, Jeongguk. I feel miserable."

"I know, babe. I'm so sorry." Jeongguk says helping him off the table. "I know it's hard but you have to hold on. So that the twins are healthy enough to be born. You'll get through it."

"You're only saying that because you don't have a three-pound cucumber laying on your sciatic nerve." Taehyung pouts as they walk out of the room. "I wish your mom was back already to make me some soup."

"She's only been gone a week, Taehyung. Her program lasts a while." Jeongguk says keeping his arm around the brunette.

"Then I'll call Jin and Namjoon," Taehyung says, pairing the two since they recently (and unexpectedly) became a couple.

It was unexpected when Seokjin told him that he and Namjoon were hooking up. But hearing about their relationship was far more unexpected.

"Whatever you need," Jeongguk says, those words have literally become his catchphrase over the past ten weeks.

Whatever Taehyung needed he made sure he got it somehow. No matter how impossible his requests were.

When they get back to the house Taehyung immediately goes to lie down. Complaining about his back and his arm.

"I'll get you some ice," Jeongguk says walking to the kitchen as he dials Seokjin's number. Bringing the phone to his ear as he grabs an ice pack for Taehyung.

"What's the emergency?" Seokjin answers after a few rings.

"Taehyung wants seaweed soup and I don't know how to cook," Jeongguk responds earning a laugh from Seokjin.

"You're helpless, Jeongguk." He jokes. "Taehyung is driving you up the walls, isn't he?"

"He's going through a lot so I'm just trying to make him happy." The ravenette sighs softly as he leans against the counter. "He's got it bad, Seokjin. And there's barely anything I can do about it."

"Ice, Jeongguk!" Taehyung calls from the bedroom.

"Yes, I'm coming," Jeongguk calls back grabbing the icepack and walking to the bedroom. "Can you come or not, hyung?"

"I guess I can since you called me your hyung." Seokjin sighs dramatically. "You'll have to entertain Saebin while I cook though."

"Deal. See you in a little bit." Jeongguk says ending the call as he walks into his room. Which was pretty much his and Taehyung's since they rarely slept separately. "I'm sorry, Tae. Here's the ice pack."

"You're such an angel." Taehyung sighs taking the ice. "I'm sorry for being in a shitty mood during the appointment."

"You don't have to apologize," Jeongguk says sitting down on the edge of the bed. "I called Seokjin and he's coming to make you the soup you wanted."

"Aw," Taehyung pouts with an expression full of gratitude. "I swear I don't know what'd I do without him."

Jeongguk laughs as Taehyung tries to make himself comfortable against the headboard. "Can I get you anything?"

"Can you hand me my laptop?" He sighs pointing to his desk. "I'm just gonna try to finish my history paper."

Jeongguk stands to grab the laptop. "My offer to write it for you still stands, by the way."

"I'm not letting you do my homework, Jeongguk," Taehyung says rolling his eyes as he takes the device from the older. "I'm almost done anyway."

"Fine. But don't work too hard." Jeongguk says crossing his arms. "Why don't you burn one of the stress-relieving candles I got you for your birthday? You haven't used them yet."

    "No~"

"Or you can burn the incense my mom sent~"

"I can't deal with the smoke right now, Jeongguk. I'm fine. Please go." Taehyung says waving Jeongguk away. "I need at least an hour of uninterrupted silence. Go, thank you so much."

"Fine. Seokjin's bringing Saebin so the silence isn't guaranteed." Jeongguk says leaving the room. "I love you."

"I love you too," Taehyung responds absentmindedly as he starts working on his paper. "Close the door behind you."

Jeongguk smiles a little as he shuts the door. Skipping down the stairs to wait for Seokjin to arrive.

As he waits his phone rings against the coffee table. A blocked number appearing on the screen.

"Alright." He answers sitting back on the sofa. "Tell me what's going on."

"You're not gonna like it." His uncle's assistant chuckles as on the other line. Her voice the same monotone drone it always is.

"Tell me anyway." Jeongguk sighs closing his eyes. He was so sick of worrying about his dad finding out that he was working with his uncle. He didn't want any part in this anymore.

"They came looking for the hard drive. And, obviously, they didn't find it." The woman says. "So they either think we got rid of it or that you still have it."

"They haven't asked me about it."

"Then I guess they're still buying your shitty cover-up."

Jeongguk sighs again as he runs a hand through his hair. "Just make sure my uncle keeps his part of the deal. Alright?"

"We got it. No one's getting near Taehyung." The woman swears. "Just let your uncle handle everything. He knows what he's doing."

"I fucking hope so," Jeongguk says pulling the phone from his ear and ending the call. He just needed to figure out how to get out of all of this. He hated knowing that Taehyung was in constant danger because of him.

And soon it won't only be Taehyung, but his children too.

~

"How are you doing today, Tae?"

"The same, pretty much."

Seokjin nods as he sits down on the bed next to Taehyung. "How'd the appointment go?"

"My blood pressure went down, so that's good. But my sugar still drops randomly." The brunette starts explaining as he eats the soup Seokjin made him. "I'm still showing signs of early labor. But I'm trying to hold on. I really am."

"Mhm." Seokjin nods. "Did the doctor say anything about your arm?"

"Yeah. Carpal tunnel." Taehyung says rolling his eyes a little. "I swear, I thought being pregnant was the easy part."

Seokjin chuckles. "I'm sorry this is so difficult for you, Tae. But it's going to be worth it when they're here. You can get through this."

"I just don't feel like I can anymore, Seokjin," Taehyung says looking down with a heavy sigh. "It's just so fucking hard. All the time. I can't sleep anymore and I'm always in pain. I just...I can't catch a break. And I'm tired of it."

"If you have them now they could be really sick, Tae~"

"I know, and I'm trying. You just don't understand how I feel." Taehyung sighs, trying to blink his tears away. "It hurts all the time, hyung. And it gets worse with every week."

Seokjin nods silently. Taehyung was right, no one understood what he was going through. "I'm sorry, Taehyung."

"I know it'll be worth it. I just wish they were here already." The brunette says placing a hand on his swollen belly as he sits his soup to the side. His body was changing in ways he never knew that it could. He was experiencing things that the average male never should have to experience and he had no control over it.

His body was conforming and changing in any way the twins needed. His hips were filling out and his breasts were beginning to lactate. His pressure was up and down along with his sugar. It's like he's constantly ailing the further he gets to his due date. Which was hopefully still in March.

"I wish there was something I could do," Seokjin says scooting closer to Taehyung and hugging him. Chuckling softly when he hugs back. "It's gonna be worth the pain, Tae. I promise."

"I believe you." Taehyung sighs before pulling away from the hug. "How's Saebin doing? Does he get along with Namjoon?"

"He's good. He's warming up to Namjoon but I don't force it, y'know?" Seokjin shrugs. "I don't bring him around much. Just so Saebin's not uncomfortable. But hopefully, with time, he can come around more. I just want to do what's right for my son."

"I get that. I'm glad you guys are happy." Taehyung smiles. "I didn't expect you two to have so much in common."

"Yeah, we click in a weird way." Seokjin nods with a fond smile on his face before he quickly changes the subject. "Are you and Jeongguk okay? Have you thought of any baby names?"

"Not really. A lot has been happening with me and Jeongguk's mom. We just haven't had time to talk together about it." Taehyung says reaching for his phone. "But I thought of some on my own."

Seokjin smiles as he takes the phone. Pouting softly as he reads over the list of names Taehyung's come up with. "Wow, these are so cute."

"I haven't talked to Jeongguk about them. But I think they're pretty good." The brunette shrugs. "I want their names to have meaning behind them."

"I think Jeongguk's gonna like them," Seokjin says handing the phone back to Taehyung.

"Are you guys talking shit about me?" Jeongguk says walking in with Saebin on his hip. Letting him down when he steps into the room.

"How can we not, Jeongguk?" Seokjin says opening his arms for Saebin.

"Whatever. Here, your phone's dead." Jeongguk says handing Seokjin his phone before sitting at the end of the bed.

"Was he on the phone the whole time?" He says taking his phone. "I'm trying to limit his screen time, Jeongguk."

"How the hell was I supposed to know that, Seokjin?" Jeongguk says narrowing his eyes. "Kids have their own phone at his age these days."

"I wanna go to Jeongguk, daddy," Saebin says squirming out of Seokjin's arms. Crawling over the bed to get to Jeongguk who opens his arms for the six-year-old.

"He'd like you more if you let him use the phone," Jeongguk says letting Saebin lean against him as he hands him his phone.

"No more of that, Jeongguk." Seokjin stresses. "You're making me look like the bad guy."

"Come on, Gguk. Don't do that." Taehyung chuckles as Saebin is instantly captivated by the device.

"Come on, Sae. Give it back. Now." Seokjin says snapping his fingers. "That's enough."

    "But, daddy~"

"I don't want to hear it, Saebin," Seokjin says shaking his head. "Give Jeongguk his phone."

"Come on, Sabin. Let's go do something else. It's no fun in here." Jeongguk says standing and picking Saebin up to go with him.

"Leave the phone," Taehyung says before they leave.

"Leave it, Sae," Jeongguk says letting him drop the phone on the bed. "We'll find something better to do."

Saebin drops the phone before wrapping his around Jeongguk's neck.

Seokjin sighs as Jeongguk leaves with Saebin. Looking down at his dead phone and shaking his head again. "Who knew Jeongguk was so good with kids."

Taehyung laughs tiredly. "I'm sorry about the phone. I told him last time not to let him have for too long."

"It's fine." Seokjin shrugs. "I'll get going so you can get some rest. It was good seeing you, okay?"

"You too. Jeongguk can bring Saebin later if you want some alone time." Taehyung says as Seokjin leans over to hug him. "You know he doesn't mind."

"I'll see what Saebin wants to do. He'll probably stay." Seokjin says rubbing Taehyung's back. "You know he loves Jeongguk."

"He won't mind bringing him if you leave his seat." Taehyung smiles as Seokjin stands to leave. "I'll see you later, hyung."

"See you later. Namjoon says to drink plenty of water and to rest when you can." He says as he heads out. "He wants to see you sometime when you're up to it."

"Okay. I'll text him." Taehyung says. "Bye, hyung."

"Bye." Seokjin waves as he leaves the room. Shutting the door behind himself to give Taehyung some alone time.

Taehyung sighs softly before trying to lay comfortably on his side. Resting his right arm on a heating pad to try and relieve some of the pain.

A few more months.

He just needed to hold on for a few more months.
