"His pressure skyrocketed so the twins were in distress. That on top of the Braxton-Hicks was definitely a lot to go through. But it was still false labor. His placenta would've moved higher up by now if he was in labor."

Jeongguk nods, sighing in relief. "So he's good until when?"

"We'll keep him overnight. But the medication won't ware off for another three or four days. That will get him to week thirty-two. Which is still way too soon." Dr. Song explains looking at Taehyung, who was completely zoned out from the medication they gave him to immediately stop the contractions. "How are we feeling, sweetheart?"

"I can't feel my legs." Taehyung responds staring off. "I can't feel anything. I can't feel my babies."

"They're there, trust me." Dr. Song chuckles before speaking to Jeongguk again. "It's not good for his pressure to skyrocket so frequently. Especially when he's alone. If he would've gotten here sooner I wouldn't have had to sedate him."

"I understand. We're going through some stuff right now that's the only reason he was alone. But it's not going to happen again, I swear."

"Whatever it is you're going through, maybe put it on the back burner for a while." Dr. Song says. "Stress isn't good for him right now. Especially when his blood pressure is out of wack."

"Yeah, I understand." Jeongguk nods looking over at Taehyung. "I'll keep an eye on him."

"Okay. I'll come check on you in a bit." Dr. Songs says before exiting the hospital room. Leaving Jeongguk and Taehyung alone in the small room.

"Hey, baby. How are you feeling?" Jeongguk asks walking over and sitting on the edge of the bed.

"I can't feel anything." Taehyung sighs opening his eyes. "It's a nice contrast to constantly feeling. I mean....you know what I mean."

"I know what you mean." The ravenette sighs taking Taehyung's hand in his. "I'm sorry I wasn't there when they first started."

"It's okay." He chuckles softly as he looks at him. "Where'd you run off to all day?"

"I went to my dad's. And I went to Seokjin's." Jeongguk says looking down at his and Taehyung's interlocked fingers. "He told me you wanted me to take a drug tested."

"I do." Taehyung nods blinking slowly.

"Do you not trust me?" Jeongguk asks despite knowing he probably wouldn't like the answer.

"No, I trust you. I want you to get tested mostly for me." Taehyung shrugs lethargically. "Because it'll confirm my trust in you."

"And if I don't pass? Does that mean you'll leave me?" Jeongguk asks looking up at him. Wanting to see his face when he answered.

"Don't scare me like that." Taehyung chuckles. "You'll pass. Because you said you haven't used since you met me."

"If I pass, no more drug testing." Jeongguk says. "Deal?"

"Deal." Taehyung nods before closing his eyes. "I trust you, Gguk. And I love you. And I love that I'll always have a part of you in my life. Even if you aren't."

"I'm not going anywhere."

"I believe you."

Jeongguk chuckles softly, shaking his head as he looks at the brunette. "You aren't going to remember any of this, are you?"

Taehyung laughs a little without opening his eyes. Squeezing Jeongguk's hand slightly. "I love you."

"I love you too, Tae." The ravenette sighs before letting the younger doze off again.

He just wanted things to be like they were before.

~The next evening...~

Jeongguk watches Taehyung closely as he examines the at home drug test that he had him take a few minutes ago. He wasn't worried about passing the test, he knew would. But being in this situation made him extremely anxious and uncomfortable.

But if it meant that this would all be behind them then he was willing to do it. Even though he was struggling internally.

"They're all negative." Taehyung smiles after double checking. "I knew you'd pass it."

Jeongguk forces a small smile as he stands to throw the test out. "Does this mean we can move on and forget about all of this?"

"Yes. We can move on." Taehyung says standing from the kitchen table. "I just wanted to make sure~"

"I understand." Jeongguk says, saving Taehyung the breath he was about to use explaining himself for the umpteenth time tonight. "You should go rest. The doctor said you weren't supposed to be moving around too much."

"I know, I'm going." The brunette sighs. "I hate laying around."

"You have to." Jeongguk says turning to him. "I'll bring you whatever you want while you're laying down."

"I don't want anything but you." Taehyung pouts holding his hands out to Jeongguk. Smiling as he takes them in his. "Are you still mad at me?"

"I was never mad at you." Jeongguk says kissing the brunette's forehead. "I love you."

"You can love me and still be mad at me." Taehyung laughs looking up at Jeongguk.

"The only reason I'm mad at you right now is because you won't lay down like the doctor said." He says before stealing a kiss from Taehyung. It feels like it's been days since he's been able to hold him and kiss him like he wanted. He just wanted to be close to him. "Come on, I'll lay with you. I'm cuddle deprived."

"Stop being so cute. You'll drive me crazy." Taehyung chuckles as he kisses Jeongguk again. "Come on, before I accidentally pop out a baby."

"I can't stand you." Jeongguk laughs as Taehyung leads him up the stares. "We could've had a moment just now."

"We're gonna have a million more moments." He laughs as they climb the stairs hand-in-hand.

Things were slowly, but surely, returning to normal for the couple.

~A few days later...~

"I know we aren't technically on speaking terms but this is important."

"It's fine, hyung. What is it?"

Jeongguk sighs as he moves around the kitchen trying to make Taehyung the tea that he was asking for. The medication that he was given at the hospital was starting to make him sick. He's been vomiting nonstop for almost an hour.

"It's about Saebin." Seokjin continues. "He told me something earlier and I really need you to come talk to him about it."

"Me? Why?" Jeongguk asks with a confused frown. What couldn't Seokjin talk to his own son about?

"I'll explain when you get the chance to come over." The older says. "When do you think you can?"

"I don't know. Taehyung's sick and I can't leave him alone anymore because of what happened the other day." The ravenette explains. "You can't come here?"

"I can. I'll come over later." Seokjin says. "Is there anything I can get for Taehyung while I'm on the way? Does he have everything he needs?"

"He doesn't need anything, I'm figuring it out. Thanks though." Jeongguk sighs. "I'll see you here in a little bit."

"See you in a bit." Seokjin says before the line goes dead.

Jeongguk sighs as he takes the freshly made cup of tea in his hands. Rushing back upstairs where Taehyung was still kneeling in front of the toilet. Sitting back on his heals with his head down as he tried to combat his nausea.

"Okay, baby, I made the peppermint tea." Jeongguk says walking into the bathroom. Setting the steaming mug on the counter before kneeling down next to the brunette. "Are you okay? Still the same?"

"Mhm." Taehyung hums, nodding his head as he looks up at Jeongguk with tears shining in his eyes. "My back is worse than before. I don't know what to do."

"Okay, okay." Jeongguk says soothingly as he rubs small circles into Taehyung's back. He didn't know what to do either. "How many times in the past hour?"

"Four, I think. I can't remember." The brunette says wiping away his tears with trembling hands. "I don't know what I'm doing wrong."

"You aren't doing anything wrong, Tae. Dr. Song said that this is a normal symptom of Hyperemesis Gravidarum." Jeongguk says, completely butchering the name of the condition. "If the supplements and vitamins don't work in the next hour we'll have to go to the doctor."

"I don't think I can wait an hour." Taehyung cries, squeezing his eyes shut as another wave of nausea washes over him.

"Crying is just going to make it worse~"

"Well, I'm sorry for crying, Jeongguk. You'd be crying too if you felt like this." Taehyung snaps at Jeongguk through his tears. "Why don't you just leave me alone if I'm bothering you?"

"You aren't bothering me. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything." Jeongguk sighs, still rubbing soothing circles into Taehyung's back. "You can cry all you want."

The next hour drags by as Taehyung sits hovering over the toilet. His stomach turning multiple times within the span of the hour. He vomits two more times before his stomach finally starts to calm down. His nausea subsiding as the vitamins and supplements decide to kick in.

Jeongguk doesn't say much, only speaking to comfort or assure Taehyung as he tries to relax.

"Do you want to lie down?" He asks after Taehyung finishes the vitamin water he was drinking. "Or do you need to sit here for a few more minutes?"

"Just leave me for a while." The brunette says shakily. "I want to be alone."

"Tae~"

"Please, Jeongguk." Taehyung says closing his eyes. "I'm fine. Just go."

Jeongguk deflates a little but he doesn't argue. He just stands silently and leaves the bathroom.

He doesn't leave the bedroom right away. Standing outside the door for a few minutes listening in. He hears Taehyung's uneven breathing and immediately knows that he's crying. He wants to go in and comfort him but he stops himself. Closing his eyes as he feels himself become emotional.

He didn't know why Taehyung started sending him away when he got too emotional. Like he couldn't break down in front of him. He leaves the bedroom, giving Taehyung the privacy that he wanted. He couldn't stand hearing him cry anymore.

When he gets downstairs he dials Dr. Song. He knows she'll probably say the same things she's been saying but he needed some kind of advice or closure.

"Dr. Song." She answers after a few rings.

"It's Jeongguk." Jeongguk says as he starts pacing back and forth in the kitchen.

"What's wrong today, Jeongguk?" Dr. Song asks knowingly. She's received more phone calls from Jeongguk than she has from any other patient in her twenty years of experience.

"I don't think you understand how much he's struggling, Dr. Song." He says. "You keep saying that you want to delay the labor for as long as possible but what if he's reaching his breaking point? What if he's kept them in as long as his body can handle?"

"I've told you numerous times now that I won't let the twins jeopardize Taehyung's life. If something were seriously wrong we would've delivered them by now." Dr. Song says. "He's going to feel miserable, he's a male carrying twins. It's not going to be all sunshine and rainbows."

"I'm not expecting it to be. I just don't think he can physically handle eight more weeks of this." Jeongguk stresses. "His blood pressure is too high, his sugar is too low. And he's practically dehydrated from puking over five times a day. What aren't you understanding?"

    "Jeongguk~"

"No, I'm telling you that he's not going to make it to forty weeks." The ravenette snaps. "You aren't seeing what I'm seeing, Dr. Song."

"I understand that, sweetheart. But I can't let him deliver those babies right now. Their lungs aren't fully developed and that's going to be a huge problem if they come now." Dr. Song explains. "Do you want to risk losing them? Or do you want to help Taehyung through at least five more weeks so that he delivers healthy babies?"

Jeongguk sighs, closing his eyes and falling silent for a moment. He wanted some type of relief for Taehyung. But he didn't want to lose the twins.

"I know it's hard seeing him like this, sweetheart. I know it's hard to have to watch someone you love go through this." Dr. Song says sympathetically. "But you have to trust that I'm doing everything I can for Taehyung and the twins. When they're here all the pain will be worth it. I promise. Okay?"

Jeongguk sighs again as he swallows his tears. "Alright."

"Okay." Dr. Song sighs. "If there's an emergency come straight to the hospital. And if you have any questions don't hesitate to call me. Day or night, okay?"

"Okay." Jeongguk says, thanking Dr. Song before ending the call.

It was hard watching Taehyung experience all the pain throughout his pregnancy. He couldn't even start to imagine living through it himself. He just wanted the pain to stop.

He just wants some kind of relief for Taehyung in all this.
