Jeongguk is dozing off when he hears Taehyung whimpering softly in his sleep again. It's been happening since he first started dozing off earlier in the night.
The ravenette pushes himself into a sitting position, throwing the thin blanket he was using to the side as he stands.
"Tae," He whispers as he kneels beside the brunette's bed, examining his face for a moment.
Taehyung's eyes were shut tightly, his brows drawn together as he grips his blanket tightly in his hands. The brunette flinches awake when Jeongguk touches his arm, his eyes flying open in alarm.
"Hey," Jeongguk says softly as he gently rubs his arm. "Hey, you're okay, it's me. It was just a dream."
"J-Jeongguk~" Taehyung starts, his voice cracking on the way out.
"Shh, it's okay." The ravenette says caressing Taehyung's cheek as he thumbs away his tears. He smooths down his hair in a comforting manner, offering him the smallest of smiles to make him feel more at ease.
Taehyung relaxes back into the bed, his eyes falling shut as he tries to control his breathing. "I'm sorry, Jeongguk. I keep waking you up."
"Don't apologize, you aren't bothering me." Jeongguk chuckles, his hand still gently caressing Taehyung's hair. "You don't have to worry, Tae, I'm here. I'll protect you and wake you up every time you have a bad dream."
Taehyung lifts his head to look at the monitor above the bed. It was monitoring his and the baby's heart beat, he couldn't stop checking it to make sure the baby's heart was still beating.
"Dr. Song came in while you were asleep. She said everything was looking good." Jeongguk says when he notices the brunette checking.
"Okay." Taehyung sighs laying his head back down. "What time is it?"
"1:11," Jeongguk says after checking the time. "Do you need anything?"
"No," The brunette says looking up at Jeongguk. "Thank you."
The ravenette nods, taking Taehyung's hand with a smile. "You're welcome."
"You should go to sleep. You have to work tomorrow." Taehyung says, he felt extremely guilty for keeping him up.
"I'll be fine." Jeongguk promises. "It's okay."
"Well...don't stay on the floor, get up." The brunette says. "You're making me feel bad."
"Taehyung-ah~"
"Don't make me feel bad." Taehyung pouts, he scooches over on his bed and pats the open space.
Jeongguk stands from where he's kneeling, sitting down in the open space. "Now go to sleep."
Taehyung rolls his eyes slightly as he tries to relax. He shuts his eyes with a sigh, he was exhausted.
Jeongguk pats Taehyung's back gently as he tries to fall asleep. Watching his face closely until his expression relaxes and his breathing evens out.
The ravenette doesn't leave his side after he falls asleep. Even though he knows he'll be exhausted at work he wants Taehyung to have at least a few hours of restful sleep.
Time passes quickly, soon the sun starts to creep in through the shades over the window.
The door opens and Dr. Song walks in with a smile, waving at Jeongguk before holding her finger to her lips. She knows Taehyung's had a restless night.
"How are we doing?" She whispers after approaching the bed, looking at the monitor as she asks.
"He's been asleep for a while." Jeongguk says, not moving from where he sits holding Taehyung's hand.
"Good, good." Dr. Song nods as she updates Taehyung's charts. "I'm going to have him take another 2.4mcg's of the B vitamin before he leaves. He'll need to pick up his prescription before he goes home."
"Prescription for what?" Jeongguk asks, they talk in low voices to avoid waking the brunette.
"Vitamin B, he'll need to take it every single day so that the baby grows as much as possible before delivery." Dr. Song says. "I'll come back when he's awake, okay?"
Jeongguk nods before letting her go. He turns to Taehyung, sighing softly as he watches him sleep.
"What are you staring at?" The brunette asks, his eyes still closed and his expression still relaxed.
"You obviously." Jeongguk smiles softly as Taehyung opens his eyes.
"You've been up the whole time?" He asks, his voice thick with sleep as he squints against the light.
Jeongguk shrugs. "I didn't want you to be scared."
"You shouldn't of stayed up." Taehyung says squeezing his hand gently before pulling away. He starts to sit up, Jeongguk rushing to help him. "You're going to be exhausted."
"I'm not going to work." The ravenette says helping him. "I'm staying to take care of you."
"I'm fine, Jeongguk." Taehyung says grabbing his cup of water from the table. "The baby's heart is still beating."
"Dr. Song says the baby still needs to grow." Jeongguk says sitting back down. "It won't grow enough if you're stressed~"
"I'm not stressed." Taehyung chuckles. "I'm not that active around the house and I'm not working either. The baby's going to grow fine without you taking care of me."
Jeongguk crosses his arms, staring off for a moment in thought. "I want you to stay at my house."
"Why?" Taehyung asks setting his cup back on the table.
"So I can make sure you're actually taking care of yourself." Jeongguk says looking at him with a serious expression. "I don't trust you to do it right."
"Jeongguk," The brunette says reaching out and taking his hand. "I'm one hundred percent capable of taking care of myself, alright? It's just for another month hopefully."
"Alright." Jeongguk sighs. "I'll still check in sometimes."
"Okay." Taehyung chuckles before looking at the time on the tv. "I can't believe you sat here for five hours."
"It wasn't that bad, you talk in your sleep so it was actually entertaining." Jeongguk says shrugging nonchalantly.
"Shut up, I do not." Taehyung says shaking his head.
"You do, I swear." Jeongguk defends. "You kept going on and on like, 'Jeongguk's the best.' 'Jeongguk's so cute, I love him.' 'Jeongguk's really the whole package~'"
"Screw off!" Taehyung exclaims, shoving Jeongguk's hand away. "I can tell you didn't get any sleep, you're delirious."
Jeongguk laughs as he stands. "Whatever, I'm going to find some coffee."
"Find me some food while you're at it." Taehyung says waving him away.
"Got it." The ravenette chuckles as he leaves the room.
Taehyung sighs when he's gone, placing his hand over his chest where it felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest. He shouldn't be feeling the things he feels right now, but at the same time he couldn't help it.
He couldn't help that Jeongguk made his heart beat like crazy.

"I'm sorry I have to cancel our plans, Jimin."
""No, d-don't worry about it. Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, Seokjin's gone into labor so they had to move his cesarean to today."
Jeongguk curses under his breath as he tries to figure out the car rider line at Saebin's soccer practice.
"Oh, okay. Well, w-we'll just have to do it another time." Jimin says on the other line, his tone is weird but Jeongguk doesn't question it. "Give Seokjin my love."
"I will, talk to you later." Jeongguk says before ending the call. "What the hell kind of parking lot is this?" He groans as he circles the building again. He ends up following another car to get to the soccer field.
"Jk!" Saebin calls excitedly when he sees Jeongguk getting out of his car.
"Come on, Bin, we gotta move it!" The ravenette calls waving him over.
Saebin runs over with his bag. "Where's my daddy or Joonie?"
"They're having a baby so let's go." Jeongguk says taking his bag and opening the back door.
"For real!?" Saebin exclaims with wide eyes. "You better step on it then!"
"Get in the damn car and I will." Jeongguk says pushing him inside with his bag before closing the door.
"Are you on his pickup list?" The coach asks approaching Jeongguk's car.
"No, but it's an emergency so excuse me~" Jeongguk starts before the man stops him.
"I'm sorry sir, I can't let you take the child if you aren't on the list." The man says. "It's against the school's rules."
"What do you need? My ID?" Jeongguk asks pulling out his wallet. "I have to take him with me."
"Hey!" Saebin yells, popping his head out of the car window. "My daddy's having a baby, we gotta move it!"
"Do you know this man, Saebin?" The coach asks.
"Yeah, he's my uncle." Saebin says. "And he owns the whole school so you better not mess with him or you'll be out of a job."
"Get in the car." Jeongguk points before turning to the coach. "I'm sorry but I really have to go. Take my card, it has all my information on it." He says handing him one of his cards from work. "See ya, dude."
"Step on it, Jeongguk-ah!" Saebin exclaims when he gets in the car.
Jeongguk turns to him with a serious expression. "Do you value your life?"
"Yeah."
"Then buckle your seatbelt and shut up."
Saebin pouts as he buckles his seatbelt. "You'd speed if it was your daddy having a baby."
Jeongguk ignores him as he drives out of the parking lot, driving as fast as he could to the hospital.
"He's probably still in surgery." Jeongguk says as he gets out of the car with Saebin.
"Where are Jae and Hanie?" The boy asks following Jeongguk inside.
"With Taehyung." The ravenette says picking him up to get there faster.
Namjoon is still in the waiting room when they get there, staring off with an unreadable expression on his face until he notices them.
"Joonie!" Saebin says rushing up to him after Jeongguk puts him down. "Did my daddy get the baby?"
"They're getting the baby right now, Sae." Namjoon says with a reassuring smile. "I'm sorry I couldn't get you today."
"It's okay, daddy needed you more than me." Saebin says climbing into Namjoon's lap and hugging him.
"Any updates?" Jeongguk asks taking a seat beside them.
"No, they haven't been able to answer any of my questions." Namjoon says. "It's been thirty minutes, I'm sure he's fine."
"Are you you fine?" Jeongguk asks.
Namjoon shrugs with a weak smile. "I'll be fine when I hear that he's okay."
Jeongguk nods, he understands how nerve wrecking it is to wait out the cesarean section. Those forty-five minutes felt like a lifetime.
"Do you mind watching him so I can go back now?" Namjoon asks Jeongguk.
"No, go. He's fine." The ravenette says quickly. "We'll be here when you guys are done."
Namjoon nods as he stands, letting Saebin sit in his previous seat. "I'll be back, Sae."
"Okay." Saebin says watching him walk away. He turns to Jeongguk in his seat, "I never got to tell Daddy that it's a girl. Do you think he's gonna be happy?"
"It's a girl?" Jeongguk asks, it was the first he was hearing of this. "Seriously? Oh my god, that's crazy. You're going to have a sister."
"Daddy said he wanted another boy but it's a girl." Saebin says fidgeting with his hands. "Namjoon was supposed to get a cake and make it a big deal but he never did. Now daddy has to find out like this."
"Hey, your dad's gonna be happy no matter what. And he's going to love the baby, regardless of the gender." Jeongguk says nudging him playfully. "Cheer up, kid."
"Me and daddy were supposed to have a day with just us before the baby got here." Saebin says with the same pout. "Nothing worked out like it was supposed to."
"Plans were created to fall through, that's just how life is." Jeongguk says. "And you'll get a day with just you and your dad after the baby is here."
"I will?" Saebin asks. "Even if the baby's taking all his attention?"
"Yeah, you're little so you'll still get lots of attention." Jeongguk says. "If you play your cards right, you can get whatever you want."
"Tell me more." Saebin says, suddenly more interested in what Jeongguk has to say.
"It's all about timing," Jeongguk starts, going on and on about how to strategically guilt trip Namjoon and Seokjin into giving him anything he wanted when the baby comes home. "And you'll get to eat out all the time cause they'll be too tired cook." He says.
Jeongguk's nonsense distracts Saebin from his previous worries and makes him feel ten times better.
After their conversation, Saebin is even more excited now than he was before about his baby sister.
