Taehyung tries his best to smile at the final customer he had to ring up before his shift ended, but the nausea in his gut wasn't playing fair at all tonight.

"Have a good night. See you tomorrow." He says, his smile immediately fading when the older man walks away.

"You're good to go, Taehyung." His shift manager says, appearing from the back room with a broom and dust pan. "I'll clean up."

"Are you sure, Seungho?" The younger says, only offering to try and boost his overtime. "I don't mind helping."

"You look horrible, Taehyung. You're lucky I even let you come in today after last night." Seungho says as he starts sweeping up. "You could've hurt yourself."

"I just got a little lightheaded~"

"You fell down while you were stocking, Tae. You could've gotten seriously injured." The older says, turning to him with a sympathetic look. "Why don't you take a few days off? You could use a break."

"I can't afford to take a break, hyungnim." Taehyung pouts, leaning against the counter as another wave of nausea washes over him. "I have bills to pay."

"You've been working every single day for the past three weeks, you're exhausted, Taehyung. I'm concerned for your well being, I am." Seungho says, sighing softly. "You need a break."

Taehyung looks down, he was extremely tired, he'd been working so much that he barely had time to get his school work done, let alone sleep and eat properly.

"Tell you what," His manager starts. "I'll give you a full week off, with pay, alright? If you go to the doctor and get a note."

"I'm not sick." The younger lies.

"Either that or I take you off the schedule next week with no pay."

"Fine, fine, fine." Taehyung says quickly. "I'll go to the doctor after work tomorrow, I swear."

"Okay. Go home." Seungho says as he continues cleaning up. "And be safe, please?"

"You got it." The younger says removing his apron, hanging it on the wall on his way out.

Taehyung has been feeling nauseous for the past two weeks, even before then he had unexplainable bouts of dizziness.

He kept telling himself that it'd go away, he was just tired and it was taking a toll on him. But the nausea and dizziness has been persistent. He knew it was time to get it checked out.

When he pulls into the parking lot of his apartment complex he has to lean against his steering wheel for a few minutes to force down his nausea, he hates throwing up and he'd rather force it down than puke everywhere.

"Is that you, Tae?" Namjoon calls when he walks inside.

"Yeah, Joon, it's me." The younger says back, dropping his key on the table by the door as he goes into the living room where Namjoon sits doing homework.

"Hey," The older says, looking up at him with a worried expression. "Was it another rough day?"

"Mhm," Taehyung hums, falling down on the couch with a huff and removing his shoes. "Seungho's making me go to the doctor."

"That's good. I've been telling you that you should." Namjoon says, smiling sympathetically. "I haven't seen you eat anything, are you hungry?"

"I can't." The brunette says, the thought of eating making him frown.

"You have to, Taehyung." The older says standing. "I'll make you some toast and get you some water."

"Thanks, hyung." Taehyung pouts as Namjoon goes to the kitchen.

Taehyung's phone chimes, reminding him that he had three assignments due before 11:59pm. He groans as he stands and goes to get his books.

He really did need a break from work.

~The next day...~

Taehyung's leg bounces anxiously as he sits in the consulting room at the local doctors office, his boss told him to call out today to get an earlier appointment and all he could think about was the money he was missing.

"Calm down, Tae. I already told you there's nothing to worry about." Namjoon says as he flips through a health magazine, always in the same zen state of mind. "It's probably just a stomach bug or something."

"That's not what I'm worried about." The younger says, checking the time on his phone. "What's taking him so fucking long?"

"You're so impatient today." The older says without looking up from the magazine. "Just relax."

Taehyung rolls his eyes, wanting to tell Namjoon off but deciding against it. He was lucky he even came with him today.

There's a quick knock on the door before it open and a woman walks in with a warm smile, it's not the same guy that ran his tests.

"Mr. Kim?" She says as she closes the door behind her.

"Yeah." Taehyung says returning the smile.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Song." The woman says offering a hand. "I'm gonna be talking with you about your test results today."

"Okay." The younger nods as he shakes her hand. "Is there something wrong with me?"

"No. There's nothing life threatening going on with you." Dr. Song chuckles as she takes a seat across from him and Namjoon. "Is this your partner?"

Taehyung's eyebrows shoot up. "Him? No, he's my roommate."

"I'm Namjoon." Namjoon says offering the woman a smile before shooting an offended look at Taehyung.

"I'm sorry for assuming, it's nice to meet you, Namjoon." The woman smiles. "Now, to get into your test results. Everything we told you we were testing you for came back negative."

"Okay?" Taehyung asks, her tone doing nothing to ease his worry.

"But after taking a look at the ultrasound Dr. Choi conducted and your blood tests I decided to run another test on your urine sample." Dr. Song continues, opening the folder she was holding. "I'm not sure how else to break the news other than being straightforward."

"Okay?" The younger says, his browns drawing together as his worry increases.

"Mr. Kim, you're pregnant."

Taehyung stares at Dr. Song as if she hadn't spoken a word, his expression not changing.

"I'm sorry?" Namjoon speaks up when he sees his friend's frozen state.

"I know it's a lot to take in, it took a lot to come to this conclusion. But it is very obvious here," Dr. Song says taking the ultrasound photo out of the folder. "I can point the fetus out to you if you'd like."

Taehyung turns away as the woman tries to hand him the photo, refusing to take it from her.

"Can you point it out to me?" Namjoon asks, taking the photo for Taehyung. "So I can show him later?"

"Of course." Dr. Song says.

Taehyung stares off in the other direction, completely in denial. "How?"

"I'm sorry?" The woman asks, giving Taehyung her attention again.

"How?" The younger asks more firmly, looking at the woman with glossed over eyes. "That's impossible."

"I can explain it to you now, or I can give you the report I typed up for you and have you read it later, when you've had time to process everything."

"Tell me now." Taehyung says, swallowing nervously. "Please."

"I'll try my best to explain this in a way that you can easily understand, just to save you from the boredom of hearing me go on and on with medical terms." Dr. Song says. "Taehyung, you are a heterogamous male, just like the rest of the human species. The only difference is that you've inherited a slightly larger gamete than the average male, resulting in you producing ova, which are cells released from the female reproductive organs."

Taehyung nods along with her words, but it's hard to even comprehend them.

"The ova are capable of developing into a new organism when fertilized with a sperm cell. You have inherited a rare trait that allows you to be capable of incubating the fetus~"

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Taehyung says leaning forward, his stomach turning as he tried to understand everything she was saying.

Namjoon puts his arm around Taehyung as Dr. Song grabs the small trash can from the corner of the room, placing it in front of the brunette.

"The report will tell you everything else you need to know." Dr. Song says handing Namjoon the small packet. "We'll have to keep a close eye on him because of the nature of this situation. It's very rare."

"Okay." Namjoon nods, rubbing soothing circles into Taehyung's back.

"Taehyung, sweetheart, do you have a way of contacting the other father?" The woman asks in a patient tone.

Taehyung's gaze drifts off as he thinks back to that night, nearly two and a half months ago.

~Two months ago...~

"Are you leaving so soon?" Jeongguk rasps, starling Taehyung.

"Oh," The brunette chuckles nervously as he buttons his shirt, his sober state of mind causing his self confidence drop. "I didn't know you were awake."

"You're leaving?" The ravenette asks drowsily, turning over and hugging the pillow Taehyung was using.

"Yeah, I should." Taehyung says as he stands to pull his jeans up his legs. "My roommate usually freaks out when I don't come home, so."

"I'll give you a ride." Jeongguk says, pushing himself into a sitting position.

"No, I'll just~"

"I insist." The ravenette says getting out of bed, not at all phased by his own nudity.

Taehyung averts his eyes as if they didn't have sex literally last night.

"Do you live around here?" Jeongguk asks as he throws on some clothes.

"Yeah, I live just off campus." Taehyung answers, sitting on the bed to pull his shoes on.

"You're a college student?"

"Yeah."

Jeongguk hums but doesn't question it anymore as he steps into some slide on house shoes. "Ready?"

"Yeah." Taehyung says, standing and grabbing his things from the bedside table. "Thank you again, Jeongguk. I have to say, you're the nicest one night stand I've ever had."

"You're welcome, I guess." The ravenette chuckles. "I was actually hoping we'd see each other again, though."

"Really?" Taehyung asks, stopping in front of the ravenette.

"Yeah." Jeongguk says, his eyes lingering on Taehyung's lips before meeting the boy's eyes. "Is that weird to you?"

"A little, but it's sweet." The brunette says, making Jeongguk look offended.

"Sweet?" He asks. "I'm not sweet."

"You are."

"What's sweet about me wanting to fuck you again?"

Taehyung chuckles, rolling his eyes. "Good point, I guess."

"Come on." Jeongguk laughs shortly as he opens the door and leads the way out of the bedroom.

"Your apartment is really nice." The brunette compliments. "What do you do?"

"Nothing, really." The ravenette answers, not elaborating on his response as they leave the apartment.

Taehyung finds it strange but he doesn't really question it.

"Here, let me give you my number." Jeongguk says, stopping and facing the brunette.

"Why? You want me to call you sometime?" Taehyung asks as he hands over his phone.

"Yeah." The ravenette says typing in his number. "You better call, too."

"Got it." The brunette chuckles, rolling his eyes as he takes his phone back.

"Taehyung?"

~Present...~

Taehyung snaps out of his thoughts when Namjoon calls his name, blinking the tears in his eyes away and clearing his throat.

"Y-Yeah, I know how to get ahold of him." He says, wiping his eyes with the back of his hands. "I have to go, I have class."

"Okay." Dr. Song says, standing with the two boys. "Contact me within the next week if you decide not to keep the baby. It's best to consider abortion early."

Taehyung has to leave the room, he doesn't mean to be rude, it just feels like he's suffocating. He hears Namjoon thanking Dr. Song as he rushes out.

"Wait for me, Tae, hey." The older jogs to catch up with the brunette, grabbing his arm. "Taehyung~"

"This can't be happening. This can't be real, Namjoon. They had to have gotten something wrong~"

"Shh, you're working yourself up." Namjoon says, pulling the younger into a hug. "It's going to be okay."

"I can't have a baby." Taehyung cries into the crook of Namjoon's neck.

"You won't be alone, Tae. Jimin and I will help you." The older says reassuringly. "You aren't alone."

Namjoon's words go right over Taehyung's head, he's never felt more alone in his entire fucking life.
