"Get your ass up, it's Sunday."

Jeongguk groans as Taehyung shakes him awake, squinting against the light as he opens his eyes.

"C'mon, Appa, we're making pancakes." Jaehyung says from Taehyung's side. "And everyone else is coming over too."

"It's the third Sunday already?" Jeongguk asks looking up at Taehyung.

"Yep, Seokjin is on the way already so get up." Taehyung says. "I need help finishing breakfast, please."

"Yeah, and I need you to help me beat this level in Mario Kart, it's too hard." Jaehyung says as if it's equally as urgent.

"Jaehyung, out." Taehyung says ushering him out. "Go help sissy down the stairs."

"Jae, out." Jaehyung says throwing up a peace sign before skipping out of the room.

"That's your child." Jeongguk says laying his head down and closing his eyes again.

"Come on, babe. I need you up and moving around before everyone gets here." Taehyung whines, shaking the ravenette's shoulder.

"Alright, I'm up. I'll be down in fifteen minutes tops." Jeongguk promises without moving a muscle.

"If you aren't down in five you're getting a strike." Taehyung says turning walk out of the room.

"Oh, really?" Jeongguk asks in amusement. "And what happens after three strikes?"

"You get punished." The brunette says, winking at him as he walks out of the room.

Jeongguk laughs but pushes himself out of bed to get ready anyways. When he gets downstairs Seokjin and Saebin are already bringing in the side dishes they prepared. "Hey, hey," he says walking in. "No Namjoon?"

"No, unfortunately." Seokjin says. "He's working."

"He's always working, it's not even news anymore." Saebin says rolling his eyes as he sits the dish he was holding down before walking out of the kitchen.

Jeongguk raises his eyebrows at Seokjin, who nods knowingly. "Yebin, how are you, princess?" He asks, focusing his attention on the five year old instead.

"'M okay." She smiles as she clings to Seokjin's shirt, showing off her perfect dimples.

"Go play with Jaein, honey." Seokjin says prying her fingers off his shirt. "I'll be there in a minute."

"'Kay." Yebin says skipping to the living room find Jaein.

Taehyung smiles fondly at Yebin as she leaves the kitchen. "How are things, hyung? We haven't talked in a few days."

"Things are pretty good." Seokjin nods. "Saebin's...improving, I guess you could say."

"Is he still not going to school?" Jeongguk asks.

"He goes sometimes." Seokjin says. "I think his friends are bad influences. But I can't control what he does when he goes to school, all I can hope is that he does the right thing."

"You've considered alternative school?" Taehyung asks as they start setting the table.

"I have, but I don't want that to permanently be on his school records." Seokjin says. "He's only thirteen, he has time to improve before he goes to high school."

"Right," Taehyung nods. "He's a good kid, he's just trying to find himself."

"Yeah, I hope so." Seokjin chuckles. "If he doesn't find himself soon I'll go insane."

"I'm gonna go talk to him before Yoongi and Hoseok get here." Jeongguk says. "Maybe he won't completely shut me down this time."

"Good luck." Seokjin says. "He's a piece of work."

Jeongguk laughs a little as he walks to the living room. Jaein and Yebin sit on the couch playing with Jaein's LOL Dolls while Jaehyung tries to annoy them at every possible second. Yebin is patient and laughs at him, much to his dismay. But Jaein's not as patient and she gets frustrated every time her brother knocks down one of her dolls.

"Stop, Jaehyung." Hanjae says picking the dolls up every time they hit the ground.

Saebin sits on the ground in the corner, his phone plugged into the wall beside him charging.

"Hey, kid, why are you on the ground?" Jeongguk asks stopping in front of him.

"Cause my phone's dead." Saebin says without lifting his head, his overgrown hair completely covering his eyes. He refuses to get a haircut because all of his friends have long hair.

"Alright," Jeongguk says sitting down crisscrossed in front of him. "Are you not available to talk right now?"

"No, but I have a feeling you're going to talk to me anyway." Saebin says pushing his hair out of his eyes as he looks up.

"Your dad told me you've been skipping school." Jeongguk says, immediately earning an eye roll from Saebin.

"Of course he did. He only tells you the bad stuff." He says. "I bet he didn't tell you that I'm in the top percentile at my school."

"That's great, Bin, it really is." Jeongguk nods. "But good grades aren't the only thing you need to be a successful student. Your behavior matters too."

"Sure it does." Saebin shrugs, his facial expression completely blank and disinterested at the same time.

"What's got you acting up in school?" Jeongguk asks. "You know you can tell me."

"Why would I tell you anything?" The teen asks narrowing his eyes. "You'd just report it back to my dad."

"I'm not asking you for Seokjin, I'm asking you because I care about you. And I want you to do well." Jeongguk says. "You don't have to tell me, but I think you'll feel better if you do."

Saebin sighs, looking down at his hands again and letting his hair fall into his eyes. "You wouldn't get it."

"I can try to get it." Jeongguk says looking at him expectantly.

"I know I have to go to school, and I know I shouldn't skip as much as I do." Saebin admits. "It's just...If all I do is go to school and get good grades I'd probably disappear. Even though disappearing doesn't sound so bad..."

"Do you not feel important?" Jeongguk asks, it wasn't the first time Saebin's mentioned disappearing/wanting to disappear.

"I know I'm not important." Saebin says. "I'm either a burden or I'm nothing. Those are my options."

"Look at me, Saebin." Jeongguk says, waiting for him to look up before continuing. "You aren't a burden, and you are important. You're important to your parents and your important to me and Taehyung, and even the kids. You're the oldest, they all look up to you. You can't be a positive role model if you keep skipping school and getting into trouble with your friends."

"You think they look up to me?" Saebin asks looking at the smaller kids.

"I know they do." Jeongguk says. "You aren't a burden, don't ever put yourself down like that."

Saebin sighs, looking down. "Alright."

"Will you go to school tomorrow?" Jeongguk asks tilting his head.

"Yeah, I guess so." Saebin says, grabbing his phone and looking down at it.

    "You guess so?"

    "I'll go alright?"

Jeongguk chuckles, ruffling Saebin's hair as he stands. "Come on, let's get ready to eat."

"I'm not hungry." The teen says without budging.

"Did you eat today?" Jeongguk asks crossing his arms.

"Sure," Saebin shrugs. "Leave me alone now."

Jeongguk shakes his head but he doesn't push him any further. Hobi and Yoongi are already in the kitchen when he gets back, Minseok hanging off of Hoseok's hip as they move around the kitchen. "Hey, guys."

"Hey, hey." Hoseok says waving a hand.

    "Good morning." Yoongi smiles softly.

"Any luck?" Seokjin asks walking out of the dining room with Taehyung.

"Yes," Jeongguk says, not elaborating further as he goes to the dining room. He makes up a plate with some of the food that he knows Saebin will eat before taking it to the living room. "Spill on my carpet and you owe me twenty dollars." He says handing over the plate.

"And what do I get if I don't?" Saebin asks taking the plate.

"A healthy conscious." Jeongguk says, clapping his hands at the kids. "Alright guys, to the kitchen, now. Walking feet please and thank you."

"Why are you doing that, Appa?" Hanjae asks covering his ears.

"To the kitchen, please." Jeongguk says without clapping. "Sorry, Hanie."

The kids all go to the kitchen as they're asked, Saebin staying in place on his phone.

"Last chance to come enjoy some quality family time, Bin." Jeongguk says looking at him. "You sure you want to pass this up?"

"I'm sure, thanks." Saebin says making Jeongguk laugh as he walks to the kitchen.

They set the kids up in the kitchen before going to the dining room, Hoseok letting Minseok stay perched on his lap instead of at the kid's table.

It was just another average Sunday brunch.

~Jihyuk's house...~

"Hey, Unc. Dad's in the kitchen."

"Thanks, man."

Jeongguk shuts the front door behind himself as he walks into his brother's house. He shows himself to the kitchen, finding the older sitting there looking at some photos.

"What are you up to?" He asks, startling his brother from his thoughts.

"What the fuck, Jeongguk, can you please make more noise when you walk?" Jihyuk says quickly gathering the photos. "I'm in the middle of something, what?"

"Why are you looking at those?" Jeongguk asks after catching a glimpse of one of the pictures.

"None of your business." His brother shrugs, laying the photos face down on the table. "Why are you here?"

"Are you trying to get in contact with him?" Jeongguk asks. "Why?"

"It's none of your fucking business, what don't you get?" Jihyuk says, becoming more frustrated. "What do you want?"

"Come on, Jihyuk, just tell me what's going on." Jeongguk says sitting across from his brother. "I just want to know what's happening."

"Ever since it got out that you weren't my biological brother different families have been saying that it isn't right that I inherit everything automatically. They've been doing everything to delay the title shift from dad to me." Jihyuk sighs. "So now I have to find this asshole and make him sign something that says he wants nothing to do with us. It'll benefit me and you actually."

"I doubt he'll put up much of an argument." Jeongguk chuckles.

"What do you need?" Jihyuk asks, earning a confused look from Jeongguk. "Come on, you don't talk to me unless you need something. So what is it?"

"I just came to check on you."

"Bullshit."

"Wha~ I seriously just came to check on you." Jeongguk says. "I don't like that we go months at a time without talking so I just decided to stop by on my way home."

"Well, whatever. I'm fine." Jihyuk says standing. "I have to get ready to go to Yukano's dance recital so I'll have to cut this short."

"Fine, I'll go." Jeongguk says standing as well. "Tell Emiko I said hi and wish Kano luck for me."

"I will." Jihyuk says. "Get lost and don't call me unless you need something."

"Wow, hyung, alright." Jeongguk chuckles. "You and Emiko should come for breakfast next time."

"I'm not eating breakfast with you and your friends." Jihyuk says rolling his eyes. "Bye, Jeongguk."

"You're missing out." The younger says raising his eyebrows. "It's a good time."

"You sound more and more like a dad every time we talk." Jihyuk laughs walking past him. "See you, Gguk."

Jeongguk laughs as he shows himself out of the house. He tried to call and check on Jihyuk whenever he thought about him but with his busy work schedule and the kids, they rarely spoke. Especially since the Ahn-Gwan's relocated and no one's bothered them since.

He didn't want to be the kind of person to only show up when he needed something, so he tried to call.

He did his best, all he could do was hope that was good enough for his brother.
