"Inside voices, please. Thank you."
Taehyung smiles as his kids rush around the classroom cleaning up so that they could go home early. Even though today was an early release day they still had to tidy the classroom.
"Mr. Kim?" One of the girls says walking up to him with a container of disinfectant wipes.
"What's wrong, Yujin?" He asks kneeling down to her level.
"Hyunwu dumped out the wipes~"
"Did not! Mr. Kim, Yujin dumped them out." Hyunwu says rushing over with the wipes in his hands. "She's a liar."
"You're a liar, you big dodo!" Yujin shouts at him.
"Hey," Taehyung intervenes. "What did I say about name calling, Yujin?"
"No name calling." Yujin pouts looking down at the empty container.
"And what do we do when we're upset, Hyunwu?" Taehyung asks looking at the boy. "We what?"
"Talk it out." Hyunwu grumbles.
"That's right. Now, who dumped out the wipes?"
"Not me."
"I didn't."
Taehyung sighs. "Is there any chance that they fell when you weren't paying attention?"
"Maybe." The kids says looking at each other.
"It's okay either way, there are more wipes in the supply closet. I'm not upset about you guys dropping them. Next time don't place blame where it isn't due. Understand?"
"Yes, sir." Hyunwu nods.
"Yujin?" Taehyung asks waiting for her response.
"Okay." She answers reluctantly.
"Good. Now go throw those away and the two of you go get more out of the supply closet." Taehyung says standing. "Go together please."
The two first graders immediately complain about having to accompany one another to the supply closet.
"Go now before I make you hold hands." Taehyung says crossing his arms, sending Yujin and Hyunwu scurrying away to the supply closet.
He laughs as he takes a seat at his desk. "Ten minutes, everyone! Make sure you grab your reading logs before you go, okay?"
"Okay!"
After bus riders leave the classroom Taehyung is responsible for walking the car riders to the front of the school. Releasing them to their guardians when they are signed out.
"My mommy's never here." Daejung huffs, throwing his backpack on the ground before sitting on it with his arms crossed.
Taehyung smiles sadly a the little boy, his parents were constantly having issues with miscommunication. Resulting in the first grader being forgotten after school.
"Mommy's on her way, Daejung." Taehyung says squatting down in front of him. "You know I don't mind staying behind with you."
"Everybody's gone but me." The dark haired boy says looking down the empty hallway with teary eyes.
"Hey, I'm still here. You like hanging out with me don't you?" Taehyung asks with a smile.
Daejung nods looking down at his shoes, still pouting sadly.
"Come on." Taehyung says standing up and holding his hand out. "I may have a couple extra juice boxes tucked away somewhere."
Daejung stands up and grabs his backpack before taking Taehyung's hand. Looking down at his shoes as the brunette leads him back to the classroom.
Taehyung eventually has to call Daejung's grandmother to come pick him up. But he does his best not to make him feel bad about his mother forgetting him. It wasn't his fault.
"I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He says kneeling down and hugging the child. "Be good."
"Thank you, Mr. Kim. See you tomorrow." Daejung says before rushing to climb into his grandmother's car.
Taehyung sighs as he turns to go lock up his class room. He was going to be late picking up the twins from Jeongguk again. He hated being late for his own children but at least he knew where they were.
He climbs into his car before dialing Jeongguk's number. Pulling out of the school parking lot in a hurry.
"Hey, Taehyung. Is everything alright?"
"Yes, I'm so sorry I'm late again. Daejung's mom didn't show up again today."
"It's fine. I'm gonna have to leave the twins with Jimin, I have work."
"Okay, tell him I'm on my way. I'm coming as fast as I can."
"I will. Be careful."
"Okay, have a good night at work."
Taehyung was becoming more and more exhausted with their daily routine when it came to the twins. Jeongguk worked nights and he worked during the day so one of them would always be working when the other wasn't.
Jeongguk picked them up from Taehyung every morning and Taehyung pick them up from Jeongguk every night. Expect for the weekend, which were Jeongguk's days to keep them over night.
It was exhausting commuting every day for drop offs and pickups. Jeongguk had mentioned working day shifts but Taehyung was opposed to the idea of daycare. But as time went on daycare was starting to sound like a great idea.
~Later that night...~
Taehyung shuts the door of the nursery behind him before meeting Joohyuk in the living room. Joohyuk always preferred coming over when the twins were either at Jeongguk's or already down for the night.
Taehyung found it a bit odd but he never really questioned it. They were still in the early stages of their relationship so he didn't expect Joohyuk to be eager to form a relationship with the boys.
"Sorry, Jaehyung never goes down without a fight." The brunette chuckles as he joins his boyfriend in the living room.
"Hm," Joohyuk hums in disinterest, scrolling through his phone even after Taehyung joins him on the couch.
"Sorry, am I interrupting?" Taehyung says jokingly, making Joohyuk lock his phone with a sigh. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." The older shrugs looking up at him. "How was your day?"
"Fine." The brunette sighs. "It's exhausting going back and forth to Jeongguk's everyday for the boys so I'm going to ask him~"
"Please, no baby talk." Joohyuk says rolling his eyes as he unlocks his phone. "And definitely no baby-daddy talk, it's annoying."
"You asked me how my day was~"
"Okay? That doesn't mean I want to hear about your ex and his kids. I want hear about you." The older says with an annoyed expression as he scrolls through his phone.
"They're my kids, and Jeongguk's their father." Taehyung frowns. "What's your problem?"
"I don't have one~"
"You obviously fucking do." Taehyung says gesturing to Joohyuk's overall demeanor. "Why do you always act like this whenever I bring up Jeongguk or my kids."
"Because it's fucking aggravating. Would you want me talking to you about my ex boyfriends and their kids every time I saw you?" Joohyuk asks. "It gets fucking old. Do you talk about anything else?"
"My kids are apart of my life, Joohyuk. And as long as I'm apart of your life so are they." Taehyung says, genuinely shocked by Joohyuk's sudden 'annoyance' with him talking about the boys. "I thought you'd be more mature about my relationship with Jeongguk."
"I'm sorry, have I not been mature about it? Because there's been multiple occasions where I could've been pissed off at you about your ex, yet this is the first time I'm bringing it up." Joohyuk narrowing his eyes at Taehyung.
"What fucking occasions?" Taehyung asks. "The only time I ever see him is when he's picking up the kids. Our kids, Joohyuk."
"Not to mention the fact that you call and text the asshole on a regular basis. And everything you text each other isn't about those goddamn kids, I've seen the messages."
"First of all, you watch how you refer to my kids." Taehyung snaps, a wave of anger washing over him at the older's words. "And second of all, you went through my phone?"
"I had no choice, Taehyung!" Joohyuk exclaims throwing his hands up. "You'd do the same thing if you were me."
"No I wouldn't, because I'm not insecure." Taehyung says. "If it bugs you so much that Jeongguk and I have a relationship then maybe you should leave. Because he's going to be apart of my life regardless."
"You can't be mad at me, Taehyung. You did this to yourself. It's your fault I even had to check your messages." Joohyuk snaps. "Because I can't fucking trust you, especially with that asshole."
"You can trust me you're just choosing not to. And don't call him an asshole, you're being a bigger asshole than he ever fucking was to me." Taehyung says standing up from the couch. "Just go home, Joohyuk. I'm done with this."
"So you're comparing me to him now?" Joohyuk says standing up, stepping closer to Taehyung until he's towering over him. "Is that what you're doing?"
"You need to leave." The brunette says trying to walk away. Joohyuk grabs him by his upper arm, forcing him to stay in place. "Let me go, Joohyuk, what the fuck?"
"I love you. And unlike that dipshit, I'd never hurt you, Taehyung."
"Well, you're hurting me right now."
"Then listen to me." Joohyuk says without letting up the grip he has on Taehyung's arm.
The brunette snatches his arm away from Joohyuk, shoving him back. "Don't put your hands on me, Joohyuk."
"Then stop comparing me to your ex." He says. "That's such a shitty thing to fucking do. Especially when I actually love you."
"What are you even saying, Joohyuk?" Taehyung asks looking up at him. "I don't know how you can even say that right now. After you disrespected me and my family."
"Your family?" Joohyuk asks raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, my family. Why is that so hard for you to wrap your head around?" The brunette asks. "I have a family, and you knew that from the beginning. What did you expect? Did you expect me to put you before my kids? Because I promise you that that's never going to fucking happen."
Joohyuk clenches his teeth as Taehyung continues. An impatient look on his face as he looks at the brunette.
"You're telling me that you love me but the only time we ever seem to get along is when we're screwing. Or when you're trying to make up for treating me like shit." Taehyung says. "I keep letting you trick me into thinking I'm happy, Joohyuk, and
I'm done doing that."
"Don't do that~"
"I have to. Because this obviously isn't working for us." Taehyung says. "You aren't ready to date someone with children and that's fine. Because you don't fucking have to. We're through, it's done. Simple."
"Don't fucking say that!" Joohyuk snaps at the brunette, stepping forward and taking his face in his hands. "I do love you, Taehyung, and I know you love me too."
"I don't love you, Joohyuk." Taehyung says honestly. "I don't think you love me. Even if you do, you don't love every part of me. You can't have me and not my kids at the same time."
"I do love you, Taehyung. I swear I love you, please. I'm sorry." The older says kissing the brunette on the cheek and on the corner of his mouth. "You make me fucking crazy, Tae. I can't think straight when it comes to you."
"Stop, Hyuk." Taehyung says trying to push him away when he starts to trail kisses down his jaw towards his neck.
"Please, Tae." Joohyuk says kissing his neck. "Give me another chance. I swear I won't blow it, I won't."
"Joohyuk, don't~" Taehyung starts when Joohyuk's hands travel to the front of his pants. He tries to push his hands away but Joohyuk persists.
"It's okay, Taehyung." He says as he continues to kiss his neck, proceeding to unbutton his pants despite Taehyung's protests. "I'll show you how sorry I am."
"Stop, H-Hyuk," Taehyung says weakly, he wanted to stop Joonhyuk but it felt like his mind and body were in disagreement. His body was reacting naturally to Joonhyuk's touches, but he still wanted to say no despite himself.
"I'll make everything better. I'll be better for you, Tae, I swear." Joohyuk says pushing Taehyung down onto the couch before hovering over him. When he kisses Taehyung he doesn't really kiss him back but that doesn't stop him from finishing what he's started.
Taehyung's heart is beating out of his chest as he lays there. Despite the gut wrenching feeling he was currently feeling, he felt like he just couldn't say no.
No matter how bad he wanted to.
