Jeongguk groans as Taehyung pulls away from him, pouting as he watches him pull the covers over himself.
"Don't give me that look." The brunette laughs as he lays down facing Jeongguk. "You have to keep your heart rate down until your next physical."
"I can keep my heart rate down." Jeongguk says turning on his side. "One kiss."
"I just kissed you." Taehyung says. "If I kiss you again you'll just go overboard."
"If you're so serious about keeping my heart rate down then maybe you should go sleep in the guest room." Jeongguk teases. "Better yet, go downstairs and set up on the couch."
"Shut up," Taehyung laughs, leaning in and kissing The ravenette again. He lets him kiss him back for a moment, or two...or three, before pulling away. "Goodnight, Jeongguk."
"Now you're just being a tease." Jeongguk says as Taehyung turns his back to him. "You know we've only had sex three times since we've met? And the first time I was completely wasted."
"Sex talk isn't going to help your case right now." Taehyung says keeping his back to him. "Let me know if you need help getting in the shower."
"I'm cleared to shower by myself now, thanks." Jeongguk says laying down on his other side, his back facing Taehyung.
Taehyung reaches up to turn the lights off before turning to Jeongguk. Wrapping his arm around his waist and kissing his neck softly. "I love you."
"Mhm," Jeongguk hums making Taehyung chuckles. "I love you more I guess."
"Nice touch." The brunette hums, sighing as they settled into each other's embrace.
The next day is a busy day for everyone. It's the second Saturday of the month so the twins are out of daycare, which means they'll have three kids to handle everywhere they go today.
Everywhere being Jaein's doctor's appointment this morning, grocery shopping this afternoon, Jeongguk's physical, Taehyung's dentist appointment, and they needed to stop by the cleaners.
"We can skip groceries." Jeongguk says as he brushes his teeth.
"Can't, I won't be able to go again until Wednesday and we have breakfast Wednesday." Taehyung says drying his hair as he gets out of the shower.
"Ughh," Jeongguk groans. "How the hell did groceries fall on the second Saturday?"
"I'd skip the dentist but my tooth's really been killing me." Taehyung says wrapping his towel around his waist. "And I can't leave my clothes at the cleaners, they're closed on Sundays and I need my dress shirts for school Monday."
"Hm," Jeongguk nods. "We could split up. You go to the grocery store while I'm at the doctor, I go to the cleaners while you're at the dentist?"
"I like running errands together though." Taehyung pouts a little as he walks out of the bathroom to get dressed.
"And I like getting shit done in a timely manner." Jeongguk says following him out.
"You're always such a grumpy pants in the morning." Taehyung chuckles. "I was just joking, I don't mind splitting up. It'll make things easier."
"Alright," The ravenette says. "If I'm done with my physical and the cleaners I'll try to catch you at the grocery store."
"You can come straight home, I can handle the groceries." Taehyung says as he pulls some jeans on. "I think I'll be kind of good at shopping with three kids."
"Not when one of them is Jaehyung."
"Don't talk bad about my kid."
Jeongguk chuckles just as one of the kids starts crying in the other room. "Speaking of."
"Yeah, yeah." Taehyung says pulling a shirt over his head as he goes to get Jaein. He walks into the nursery and finds Hanjae already wide awake as his sister cries. "Good morning, Hanie." He says as he steps over the baby gate. He picks Jaein up from her crib, holding her to his chest as he shushes her. "I'll be right back, Hanjae."
"Dada," Hanjae says as he stands up in his crib. "Wan' go?"
"I know, baby. I'll be right back." Taehyung says carefully stepping over the baby gate. "Wake up your brother."
Hanjae decides to cry instead of waiting patiently. Taehyung knows he's only crying because he's been left, not because he's hurt or sad.
"Jeongguk, Hanjae's up! I have to feed Jaein!" The brunette calls into the room before going downstairs. Shushing Jaein as he goes to the kitchen.
He's feeding Jaein when Jeongguk skips down the stairs with Hanjae, both of them already dressed to go.
"Jaehyung's dressed but he's still not wanting to wake up." The ravenette says putting Hanjae in his high chair.
"I'll get him up." Taehyung says. "We can't be late."
"I'll take her." Jeongguk says holding his hands out. Taehyung hands her over with her bottle before going to get Jaehyung up.
Taehyung honestly lived for morning's like these. He loved how domestic it felt to get the kids ready with Jeongguk, each of them helping one another out where they can.
He gets Jaehyung up and takes him downstairs for breakfast. He was always stubborn in the morning, Taehyung blamed Jeongguk.
"It's almost nine, Tae." Jeongguk says grabbing the brunette's keys. "I'm putting the boys in the car."
"I've got Jaein." Taehyung smiles as he lifts her from her bouncer, kissing her cheek before holding her to his chest. He grabs her diaper bag before heading out after Jeongguk.
"What are you smiling about?" Jeongguk asks from the back row as he straps the boys into their seats.
"Nothing. I just love doing this." Taehyung chuckles, putting Jaein in the middle row.
"You love having a full schedule and three small kids?" Jeongguk asks. "You're kind of insane for that."
"No, I just love doing things like this with you. It's all I've ever wanted." Taehyung says laughing a little. "I don't care if you think I'm insane."
Jeongguk looks at Taehyung with a fond smile. He wouldn't admit it, but he'd wake up every morning at seven a.m. if it meant spending the time with Taehyung and the kids.
"Alright, let's rock and roll sugar bowls." Taehyung says getting out and shutting the door.
They had a lot to get done, but at least they were doing it together.
~Later that evening...~
"Stop walking into my house uninvited."
"Stop leaving the door open."
Jeongguk rolls his eyes as Jihyuk sits down on the couch next to him. "What do you want?"
"A beer would be nice."
"We don't drink beer."
Taehyung looks up from where he's playing with the boys on the ground. "We have wine."
"Sure, why not." Jihyuk shrugs. "White is fine."
"You don't have to get him anything." Jeongguk says as Taehyung stands. "He's just being an asshole."
"I don't mind." The brunette says going to the kitchen.
"What do you want, Jihyuk?" Jeongguk asks again, holding his arms out to Hanjae.
"Mom told me that every time she calls you decline." Jihyuk says holding his arms out to Hanjae as well.
"Okay?" Jeongguk asks, his mouth falling open in shock when Hanjae reaches for Jihyuk. "Really, Hanie? It's like that now?"
Jihyuk laughs as he picks him up. "You know you have to at least talk to her, Jeongguk."
"I do talk to her." Jeongguk says. "Every time I answer she wants to know why I'm living with Taehyung and why I'm taking care of Jaein. She called when I signed her birth certificate last month and told me I made a mistake."
"Did you?" Jihyuk asks.
Jeongguk looks at him in shock. "No, I didn't! This is my fucking family, Jihyuk. What's everyone's deal?"
"I was joking, first of all." Jihyuk says. "And second, so what if she thinks you're making a mistake, she's your mom."
"White." Taehyung says returning with the glass of wine, handing it to Jihyuk before taking Hanjae. "What are you guys on about?"
"Tell him he needs to talk to our mom." Jihyuk says pointing to Jeongguk.
"I already told him he should talk to her." Taehyung says returning his attention back to the kids.
"See, no. You're not going to gang up on me." Jeongguk says shaking his head. "I don't want to talk to her."
"You've had worse disagreements." Jihyuk says sipping his wine.
"This isn't a disagreement. She doesn't accept my family." Jeongguk says. "Why are we even having this conversation?"
"You know how she gets, Jeongguk." Taehyung says, still keeping his attention on the boys. "I'm just saying."
"And she's drinking again~"
"If I was as stressed about someone else's life as she is about mine, I'd need a drink too." Jeongguk says. "She's fully capable of getting help if she needs it. I'm not her goddamn personal shrink, alright? Shut it down, I'm done talking about it."
"I'm going to get the boys ready for bed." Taehyung says standing, dismissing himself from the conversation.
"Come on, Jeongguk," Jihyuk says sitting his wine on the coffee table before shifting to face The ravenette. "I've tried getting her out of bed, I can't."
"Not my responsibility." Jeongguk says. "You can't keep putting her life in my hands. And you can't make me feel guilty for not rushing to her rescue. I mean seriously, how many times in one month do you come to me with this bullshit? Seriously, how many?"
"No one knows her like you do~"
"Well let me tell you," Jeongguk starts, shifting to face his brother. "She's probably in bed because she's tired after a long night of slamming hard liquor and prescription medicines. So get her ass up and make her drink some goddamn water before you try to talk some sense into her. If she tells you to screw of, screw off. If she doesn't want you to stay, don't stay. You don't have to know her at all to do that."
"Fine, Jeongguk. Be a dick then." Jihyuk says standing to leave. "And don't act like she wasn't doing the same for you at one point."
"She was just as fucked up as I was." Jeongguk says rolling his eyes.
"But she was still there." Jihyuk says. "Let's not forget everything you put her through, Jeongguk."
"Why do you always try to turn it around on me?" Jeongguk asks standing up. "Okay, I was an addict, and? I got help and I got my shit together~"
"After the third rehab you went through~"
"Either fucking way, if she doesn't want it no one can help her. Not even me." Jeongguk says. "Get the fuck out of here, Jihyuk. This is the last time having this conversation."
"She's going to kill herself." Jihyuk says. "You know she is."
"Tell her to prescribe herself something for it." Jeongguk says walking away. "Lock my door when you leave."
"You're an asshole." Jihyuk says as he leaves the house, slamming the door shut behind himself.
Jeongguk sighs as he climbs the stairs, turning the lights off in the living room on his way up.
Taehyung's in the bathroom brushing his hair when Jeongguk walks in. He hums in acknowledgment when Jeongguk wraps his arms around his waist. "Jihyuk left?"
"Yeah," The ravenette sighs, looking at Taehyung in the mirror. "He thinks I'm an asshole for not calling my mom."
"You should call your mom." Taehyung says even though he knows it's not what Jeongguk wants to hear. "I know you shouldn't have to, and I know what she says about Jaein hurts your feelings. It hurts my feelings too, but we can't change her mind."
"It just doesn't make sense. I'm not her biological son but she still raised me, what's the difference?" Jeongguk asks resting his chin on Taehyung's shoulder.
"I think she's upset because she blames me for what happened to you. And she doesn't see how you can help me with Jaein if it's my fault you got hurt~"
"I'm not helping you with Jaein, she's my daughter, Taehyung." Jeongguk says. "It's not the same thing. And I could give a shit less what she thinks honestly."
"Hm," Taehyung hums, setting his hair brush down. "No one can force you to talk to her if you don't want to. If I were you I'd at least give her the opportunity to change. If she still felt the same way after talking then I'd distance myself permanently."
Jeongguk sighs, thinking to himself for a second. "Fine, I'll talk to her tomorrow."
"Good." Taehyung chuckles.
"Only because you said I should." Jeongguk says, smiling softly at Taehyung in the mirror. He pulls away from their embrace slightly, kissing the exposed skin of the brunette's shoulder before trailing up to his neck.
"Mm," Taehyung hums in response, pulling away completely after a moment. "Not tonight, Gguk, my tooth's still bugging me." He says turning around to face the ravenette, kissing the corner of his mouth before walking out of the bathroom.
Jeongguk sighs, he wasn't even surprised that Taehyung was still shooting him down. He doesn't question his behavior, he honestly didn't feel like it was his place to. He grabs a towel from the closet before hopping in the shower to clear his head. He mostly just thinks about how he's going to approach his mom about his situation with Taehyung.
He didn't think he had to explain himself more than once but he was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.
It's his mom and, as much as he hated to admit it, he needed her in his life too.
