~Three days earlier...~
"You aren't serious."
"Why wouldn't I be serious?"
Jihyuk crosses his arms, leaning against the doorframe as he looks at Jeongguk incredulously.
"I'm inviting mom to breakfast tomorrow and we're going to talk." Jeongguk says, hoping that it would sway Jihyuk to help him out. "I'm going to call her tonight."
"Okay?" Jihyuk shrugs. "If you didn't need me for something you wouldn't be calling her."
"But I am calling her." Jeongguk says. "This is serious, Jihyuk."
"You wanting me to track down your boyfriend isn't serious." Jihyuk says moving to shut the door.
"I just need to know where his flight's going tomorrow, please, Jihyuk." Jeongguk says. "I won't ask you for anything else~"
"Don't lie." Jihyuk says. "And what do you mean where his flights going, your boyfriend didn't tell you where he was going?"
"He said he was going to Japan for a seminar." Jeongguk says. "I heard him over the baby monitor telling Seokjin that there isn't really a seminar."
Jihyuk falls silent, a look crossing his face. "So he lied, huh?"
"Yeah," Jeongguk says. "Why'd you get that look? What do you know?"
"I don't know anything, what?"
"You're a goddamn lie."
"I'm not, what? He's your boyfriend, I know where my wife is, she's upstairs. Your boyfriend, your problem."
"Where the hell is he, Jihyuk? What did you do?" Jeongguk asks stepping up onto the porch. "What do you know?"
Jihyuk sighs, rolling his eyes. "Alright, I might've told him where Jimin is."
"What?" Jeongguk says in confusion. "Why the hell would you tell him and not me?"
"He asked me not to tell you~"
"Wait, wait, wait." Jeongguk says holding his hand up. "You two have been talking?"
"He's been stopping by for the past month, mostly after school." Jihyuk confesses. "He didn't think you should know because he thought you'd try to confront Jimin."
Jeongguk blinks rapidly, his expression dumbstruck as he waits for Jihyuk to tell him he's joking. "Are you an idiot?"
"Gguk~"
"No, you must be a fucking idiot!" Jeongguk snaps. "Even if he asked you not to you should've told me!"
"I couldn't, Jeongguk." Jihyuk says. "Taehyung trusted me with this. He's never trusted me with anything, I couldn't let him down with this. I didn't think he'd go to the fucking Czech Republic!"
"Czech~" Jeongguk's words get caught in his throat. "He's going to the Czech Republic?"
"That's where Jimin is." Jihyuk says. "I'm sorry."
"You better text me that address right now, Jihyuk. Right fucking now!" Jeongguk points as he turns to leave, stopping short at the bottom of the steps and turning to his brother. "Why do you care if Taehyung trusts you?"
"Because," Jihyuk shrugs. "I want him to be able to depend on me."
"And why would you want that?" Jeongguk asks. "Why would he need to depend on you?"
"Because I'm the only reason you both are still alive." Jihyuk says. "And I'm the only person that can keep you alive."
"What's that mean?" Jeongguk asks, he knew he was wasting time but he couldn't help but ask.
"I'm sending the address now." His brother says stepping inside the house and shutting the door.
Jeongguk's still confused but he can't stay. As soon as he's in the car he's on the phone trying to get the fastest flight to the Czech Republic. It felt unreal almost that Taehyung would really do something like this to him. He'd really endanger himself like this. He wanted to be angry, but all he could think about was getting there.
He just had to get there.
~Present...~
"Wow...I really don't recognize you anymore, Jimin."
Their conversation is interrupted by a loud banging on the door. Jimin jumps from his seat immediately in alarm, his eyes wide in fear.
"Taehyung!"
Taehyung's eyes widen when he hears the familiar voice. "Damnit." He curses.
"Is that Jeongguk?" Jimin asks looking at Taehyung. "Y-You said you came alone!"
"I did, he must've followed me." Taehyung says. "I swear we didn't come together."
Jimin shakes his head before going to get the door. "Jeongguk~"
Jeongguk immediately pulls a gun from his waistband, pointing it at Jimin before he can step outside the apartment. "Get back. Get the fuck back! You don't get to say shit to me."
"Jeongguk, stop!" Taehyung says, his eyes widening in fear when he sees the gun.
The ravenette pushes Jimin back into the apartment, grabbing Taehyung by the arm and pulling him out before slamming the door shut. He turns to Taehyung with anger behind his eyes. "Go." He snaps through clenched teeth, motion to the stairs. Making Taehyung lead the way back down and out of the lobby before stopping him. "What the fuck is going on, Taehyung? What the fuck are you doing?"
"Can you put that away, please?" The brunette asks referring to the gun. "Please?"
"Start talking." Jeongguk says as he tucks the gun back in his waistband.
"What are you doing here?" Taehyung asks, his question only causing Jeongguk to become further agitated.
"What am I doing here? Are you actually fucking serious?" He asks, his face flushed with anger. "What are you doing here?"
"Jeongguk~"
"I'm so close to losing my shit right now, Taehyung. If you don't answer me I'm going to lose my shit."
Taehyung sighs. "I...When I found out you were looking for Jimin I asked Jihyuk not to tell you anything if he found him."
"Why?" Jeongguk asks, his expression still hard and his jaw still taught.
"Because I didn't want you trying to confront him. You're still recovering~"
"That's bullshit, Taehyung!" The ravenette snaps. "Even I did find out where he was I wasn't going to hop on a goddamn plane to go give him a piece of my mind. Because I'm not a fucking idiot!"
"So I'm an idiot?" Taehyung asks.
"Right now, yes, you're an idiot. You're an idiot for coming here without telling me!" Jeongguk fumes. "You don't know who Jimin has in his corner. He could've done anything to you~"
"He wouldn't~"
"Oh, really?" Jeongguk asks with an unimpressed expression before he snaps again. "He set me up to be killed, Taehyung!"
"And he regrets it." Taehyung tries to explain.
"He doesn't get to regret it, I almost died!" Jeongguk says. "I can't believe you're defending him."
"I'm not defending him. I'd never try to justify what he did, Jeongguk." Taehyung says. "I just don't think he wanted to hurt you."
"Well he did." Jeongguk says. "He almost got me killed, it doesn't matter if he wanted to or not. You don't just accidentally set someone up. Don't be so fucking naive."
Taehyung falls silent, he knew Jeongguk was right. He knew Jimin was a horrible person, he just wanted to try to understand why he did what he did. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
"I don't want hear sorry right now." Jeongguk says walking past him. "Get in the fucking car so we can get the hell out of here."
"I had to talk to him, Jeongguk. No one was telling me anything. Not you, your mom, or Jihyuk." Taehyung says turning to him. "I needed to hear the whole truth."
"Then you should've asked me. I would've told you before I let you do something this stupid." Jeongguk says stopping and facing him.
"And you should've told me that Chiwon was the one that shot you. You should've told me that you killed him." Taehyung says. "You should've told me a lot of things but you didn't. You don't get to lose your shit because I kept one thing from you~"
"One major thing~"
"~One thing, Jeongguk." The brunette says, tears forming in his eyes. "You probably can't count the number of things you've kept from me on both hands."
"Is this a fucking competition or something?" Jeongguk asks, still highly aggravated. "You left the country to confront the person that almost got me killed."
"And you killed Chiwon~"
"He tried to kill me first!" Jeongguk snaps. "This isn't a fair argument so you might as well give it a rest. You fucked up worse than me this time. Now get in the goddamn car!"
"Screw you, Jeongguk." Taehyung says turning the other way and walking off.
"Taehyung, I'm not in the mood for this shit!" Jeongguk calls after him. "You need to come with me so we can go home!"
"My flight back leaves tomorrow." The brunette says without turning back. He hears Jeongguk groan before he hears footsteps approaching him. "Leave me alone."
"I'm not leaving you alone in a foreign country." Jeongguk says, anger still prevalent in his voice. "I don't care how pissed I am, I'm not letting anything happen to you."
Taehyung rolls his eyes a little but he doesn't argue any further, letting Jeongguk trail after him as he heads back to his room, wrapping his arms around himself to stay warm.
The walk is long and the cold air is unforgiving but they eventually arrive back at the hotel. The silence between them is tense, both their expressions hard and distant.
"It's a single so you can have the couch." The brunette grumbles as they walk in. Tossing the key on the desk before sitting down on the bed.
Jeongguk sighs as he sits down, leaning forward and putting his head in his hands.
Taehyung ignores him as he takes his shoes off. Pulling his shirt over his head and throwing it on the bed before going to the bathroom to shower.
Jeongguk takes his coat off, folding his gun into the coat before grabbing his phone to look for a flight in the morning. He's lucky to find one this late in the afternoon but he does. He sends Seokjin a quick message to let him know that they were alright. Leaving out the huge fight they just had.
When Taehyung walks out of the bathroom Jeongguk can immediately tell that he's been crying. His eyes are puffy, and he avoids making eye contact with the ravenette as he puts his folded clothes on the desk in the corner.
"Tae," Jeongguk says standing and walking over to him.
"I don't want to talk." Taehyung says, his voice straining as he keeps his back to Jeongguk.
"I'm sorry, Taehyung." Jeongguk says anyway. "I'm not sorry for what I said, but I'm sorry for the way I said it."
"Nice." Taehyung scoffs, using his sleeve to wipe his tears.
"This was a bad idea, Tae." Jeongguk says, his voice far calmer than it was before. "I still shouldn't have freaked out. I'm sorry."
"You killed Chiwon." Taehyung says. "You killed a person, Jeongguk."
"It was self defense." Jeongguk says. "I didn't want to, Taehyung. If I had any other options I wouldn't have."
Taehyung shakes his head silently, sniffling through his tears.
"You loved him...didn't you?" Jeongguk asks, trying to figure out why Taehyung seemed so distraught over Chiwon's death.
Taehyung turns to him with anger behind his tearful eyes. He doesn't think before he shoves him away, slapping him across the face as he rages. "Fuck you, Jeongguk!" He wails as he hits him. "Fuck you, I hate you! I fucking hate you~!"
Jeongguk doesn't react initially, Taehyung's palm striking him multiple times before he even thinks to grab him. "Stop, Taehyung!"
The brunette pulls away when Jeongguk grabs his wrist, trying to fight out of his grip as he sobs. "Let me go, I hate you~"
"You don't hate me." Jeongguk says, finally getting a good grip on his arms and shaking him a little. "Stop, Taehyung! What are you doing?"
Taehyung puts his head down as he cries, his weak struggles against Jeongguk dying down. "I-I~"
"You don't hate me." Jeongguk says before Taehyung repeats himself. Forcing the brunette to look up at him. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have~"
"D-Don't," Taehyung chokes, leaning into Jeongguk. "Please, don't."
"I'm sorry," Jeongguk says again, both their chests rising and falling rapidly as they stood there. Taehyung fisting the front of Jeongguk's shirt, holding onto him desperately.
Taehyung breath hitches as he tries to gather himself. "Jeongguk~"
"Shh, it's okay." Jeongguk says shaking his head, taking Taehyung's face between his hands and thumbing away his tears. "I'm sorry."
The space between them narrows, Taehyung leaning in close enough to feel Jeongguk's warm breath against his lips. His mind isn't functioning properly, his heart is beating out of his chest and his eyes are blurry with tears. He can't stop himself from kissing Jeongguk. Pressing his lips against his messily, a sense of desperation behind the kiss.
Maybe Jeongguk's mind isn't functioning properly either, or maybe he's just feeling too many emotions at once, but he kisses him back with the same aggression. Stepping forward until the brunette is pushed up against the desk behind him. His hands move down to his waist, pushing him onto the desk so that he stands between his legs, the kiss salty with the brunette's tears.
Taehyung pulls roughly at Jeongguk's hair, humming into the kiss before pushing him away. He jumps off the desk, his hands finding the front of Jeongguk's pants as he pushes him back.
"Tae~" Jeongguk starts, Taehyung cutting him off as he pushes him down on the bed. "Taehyung~" he tries again.
"I don't care." The brunette cuts in straddling him as he unbuckles his pants. He kisses him again, causing each of them to moan into the kiss.
"I do," Jeongguk says standing and switching their positions so that he's on top of Taehyung. Pinning his wrists beside his head. "I love you."
"Please, Jeongguk." Taehyung says, tears spilling from his eyes. He doesn't know what he's begging for, he doesn't know why he's crying.
It doesn't take long for Jeongguk to cave, losing all resolve as he stares down into the brunette's desperate eyes. He gives in, kissing Taehyung hungrily as he holds him down.
They aren't being reasonable, that's one thing they would probably agree on later. But they don't care, they only care about one thing right now. Only one thing matters as they eagerly undress, low groans spilling between them. Emotions were high, feelings were hurt, and a lot of things were left hanging in the air.
But they didn't care.
