Chapter 6
I could tell that Elsa was pissed at me.
Oops. I mean she was angry.
I never said that.
It was just the way that she walked and looked that gave it all away. I noticed that there were tiny beads of sweat on her forehead, and her hands were shaking a little. When she walked away from me to give a quick 'Hello!' to the other guardians, she just had a sassy way that told me she was angry.
That, and she told me flat out, "I'm not happy with you right now, Jack."
So, I was hoping that things would be okay.
"Jack, you do realize that if I do this, it will be slow and painful. You may not even survive!" She told me as we both got ready.
"Well, if I notice that it's not working, I'll make sure that I can do an act of true love. I mean, that's what thaws a frozen heart, right?" I asked.
She nodded. "But what if-"
"Enough with the 'what if''s', Elsa!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands in the air.
"Okay, okay!" She sighed. "I just...don't want you getting hurt."
"I won't get hurt," I smiled brightly at her. "Just don't miss. That's all I'm worried about."
She gave a tiny chuckle, before punching my shoulder.
"Ow!" I complained, rubbing my now-probably-bruised-shoulder. That made her laugh harder. I frowned before joining her. I was happy that she was no longer as angry with me.
When we were all ready to go, I stood in front of Elsa and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. The other guardians had left at her request, though I'm not sure why. But I didn't question it. If it made her feel more comfortable, I was okay with it.
We stood there for a while. I mean, a really long while. I wasn't quite sure why.
"Elsa..." I said.
"Okay." She'd say.
We'd stand there some more.
"Eeeeelsaaaaa..."
"Okay."
.....
"Aaaaaannnyyy daaaaaaay noooooow...."
"Shut up, Jack! Don't rush me!"
.....
"Elsa?"
"WHAT?!"
"Um...are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm perfectly fine. Why?"
"We've been just standing here for nearly 10 minutes."
.....
"Oh."
"Yea."
She took another deep breath, before suddenly lashing out and striking me with her powers. I gave a little gasp at how cold it was at first, but I was fine after a few seconds. I heard sobbing and looked back up to see Elsa crying. She fell on me and I held her up, unsure of what to do(I ended up patting her back....yea, yell at me all you want!).
"D-don't ever make me do that again!" She cried.
"I won't." I assured.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Did it work?" North asked once we re-joined them.
I shrugged. "Don't know. But I guess that we'll find out in a bit."
He nodded.
Elsa decided to hang around for a bit more, and no one stopped her. We all love Elsa, I mean, she's just really nice to everyone, pretty, and...
Ahh....I mean, we all like her. Yea, that's it.
What are you laughing at, Manny?
Sooo...yea. She hung out, and we had eggnog and cookies and hung out. It was a lot of fun.
But, all good times must come to an end.
And I hated this ending.
"Don't lose your powers again, you hear?" Elsa reminded me, just as she was getting ready to leave.
"I won't, I won't!" I assured, raising my hands in the air again.
She giggled at my reaction, before saying bye to the others. "And, look after Jack," She said. "He can get into more trouble than he creates."
"Hey!"
They started laughing.
"Well, this is goodbye. For now, anyways." Elsa gave me one last smile.
"For now?" Someone asked. "Oh, no, I think that it will be much longer."
My eyes got wide and we all turned around to see Pitch. His hands were behind his back and he had a strange smile on his face. He started laughing. "Frost, you fell right into my trap!" He laughed.
"What trap?" I asked.
"What, you think that I'm gonna just tell you?" He asked.
"Well, it would be nice if you did."
"But if I did, then it wouldn't be a secret anymore."
"Screw secrets! What trap?"
He started laughing again. North took out his swords and pointed them at Pitch. "What are you planning, Pitch?" He asked.
"Nothing of your concern," Pitch said, darkly. "No, I'll just take Frost and be gone. Or, well, he isn't really Frost anymore, is he?"
"I'm going to get my powers back, Pitch!" I yelled at him. "And you can't stop me!"
"Oh, really?" He asked. Slowly, the room became darker, until I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face.
(I tried it, just so you know)
I heard Pitch cackle again, sending chills up my spine. Then, from somewhere behind me, I heard him say, "Boo." Aaaaand, I'm going to be honest, I may have....screamed just a little bit.
(Stop laughing, Manny! It's not funny!)
Anyhoo, after I had...yelled...I heard Pitch laugh again and then suddenly the room lit up enough just in time for me to see 3 nightmares running towards me. There was nothing that I could do, even if I had my powers. All that was left to do was fall into a deep nightmare....
...One about Elsa.
And Jaime.
And my little sister.
They were all on the ice-pond. The ice was cracking from underneath them. I could only save one of them...
...or none of them.
And that's just what I chose, as they fell through the ice, screaming. Their screams filled my ears, but I covered them, thinking over and over again, It's just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream...
But those screams sure did sound real.
