Day 1

(Shadow)
I jump down the hole, rolling when I reach the bottom in order to lessen the impact. I threw down the crafting table and tossed her some of my wood, then watched her work.

(Rose)
I quickly turn the wood into sticks and crafted a stack of torches with the coal I found while mining. I pick those up and light up the walls and the floor so no mobs spawn. Once I'm done I walk back over to Shadow. "Ok now that I put down the torches we will be safe for the night. Lets see what you gathered while I went mining."

(Shadow)
I hand over the rest of the wood, and the flowers I'd gotten from the meadow. Then I give her the thirty three apples I got from the trees. "Is this good?" I ask as I hand her the last apple.

(Rose)
I smile. "Thats great. The food and wood we will need and the flowers we can use later on for dyes." I craft a chest and place it down in a corner. "Let's put all our stuff in here so we can sort through it all." I put in my stack of oak trucks, a few stacks of cobblestone, a bunch of apples, and my almost worn out pickaxe.

(Shadow)
I look at the crafting table, and I begin to wonder how it worked. "Can you teach me how to craft stuff?"

(Rose)
I laughed at his question. "Sure, thats easy. Do you want to start with the survival basics and work our way up? Or do you want to learn how to craft a certain item first?"

(Shadow)
I thought about that for a minute. "Let's start with the basics, it's usually easier that way, right?"

(Rose)
I nod and walk over to the crafting table. "Ok so to craft wooden planks you place 1 wood trunk in the table." I place the wood trunk on the table and pull 4 planks out. "And to craft sticks all you do is place 2 wooden planks on top of each other, like this." I put the planks in the table and pull out sticks. "Now you try."

(Shadow)
I walk to the chest and grab some trunks, then I walk to the table and drop a trunk on it. The trunk fuzzes and four blurry shapes form around it. I pick them up and they become planks, the trunk disappearing. "Is it supposed to go blurry? Or is it different for you when you do it?"

(Rose)
"Oh its only blurry because you are a newbie. After you spend some time in Minecraftia, the fuzz should go away." I turn back to the table and teach Shadow different crafting recipes all night until the sun peeks into our bunker.

(Shadow)
I notice the sunlight. "Daytime already? Why aren't I tired?" I look at her for an explanation.

(Rose)
I laughed again. He really was a newbie. "You don't get tired in Minecraftia. Only 2 things can slow you down, running out of food and you can't sprint, or getting hurt. But if you have a full hunger bar, your health restores itself." I go to the chest and grab 20 apples, then toss 10 to Shadow. "Here catch. Today I'll teach you how to protect yourself in this world. Let me craft a few wooden swords, then we can head to the meadow and practice." I head to the crafting table and start making the swords.

(Shadow)
I grab thirty planks and look up the tall hole. "How do we get out of here?" I ask curiously.

(Rose)
I giggle. "Ladders silly. How else? I guess I forgot to show you how to craft those. Give me a sec." I quickly craft a stack of ladders and place them on the wall as I climb. When I reach the top and place the last ladder, i climb back down. "Ready to go? I will give you your sword once we get out there."

(Shadow)
I put the wood back, then walk over to the ladder, eager to see the world again. I start climbing up, and, as I reach the top I remember that she had giggled. Didn't girls do that when they liked you? I pushed the thought from my mind and walked to the nearest tree and started gathering wood while I waited for her to reach the surface.
