The Battle.....

Holding my sword tightly in my hand, I ran towards the barricade the dwarves had built with their bodies. It was a well-tried battle tactic of elves and dwarves. The dwarves erected a protective wall of shields that the enemies could not see over and the elves jumped over it. Again and again the archers of the elves and dwarves fired their volleys, whirlwinds struck the ranks of the orcs, elven arrows bored into the slits of the orcs' eyes. I took a running start and leapt as elegantly as the elves on the shields of the dwarves, with a shout I raised my sword above my head and let it crash down on the first orc. With flowing strokes I worked my way through the ranks of the orcs. The dwarves joined the slaughter with a battle cry and speared the orcs with their lances. Their war machines, literally shredded the monsters. Here and there I could see Thranduil, riding around on his stag, being the nightmare of all orcs. I ducked under the blade of an orc and torched its face. But there were just too many orcs. Suddenly I found myself next to Dain who was smashing one orc skull after another with his warhammer "Where is Thorin, we need him, where is he!"
I just threw my hands in the air in despair, slowly the dwarves' courage left them. Most of the Elves had gone to Thal to help the people there. I hurled a knife at an orc and looked for a horse, for I saw something that did not please me at all. A new wave of orcs was coming towards Thal, with several trolls. I didn't find any, so I just ran. Suddenly a hand grabbed me, I wanted to whirl around and chop the hand off.
"Calm down, it's me." I heard Thranduil's voice, pulling me onto his stag.
Thranduil rode straight towards Thal, at my back the dwarves were surrounded by orcs. They had retreated to the gate of their mountain and had almost given up hope, too many had already fallen. I hacked off orc heads with my sword and hurled fire around me. Thranduil's stag lifted six orcs at once with its antlers, and with one well-aimed sword stroke the Elf King decapitated them all at once.
The stag gave a whoop as two arrows were shot into it. The animal stumbled and fell. I jumped off and was back on my feet within seconds. I wanted to run to Thranduil, as he was still crouching on the ground, but suddenly he whirled his swords through the air with incredible speed and slaughtered the orcs that had surrounded him. I turned my attention back to my survival. But I was also running out of strength, for the battle had been raging for hours. Suddenly I could make out Gandalf and Bilbo, just in time I was able to sink a knife into an orc who would have run Gandalf through with a sword.
"Leona." he rammed his sword into an orc "What about Erebor."
I whirled once on my own axis and slashed five orcs at once "Bad, the dwarves are losing their courage and Thorin is still entrenched in Erebor."
I ducked under the lance of an orc and slit its throat with a knife. I was on a bridge overlooking the entire battlefield and things were not looking good for us. Azog was still standing on Rabenberg, directing his army from a safe distance. If I didn't know for sure that it would be suicide, I would ride up there and kill him. Suddenly a horn sounded, it was the most beautiful sound I had heard that day, for it was Erebor's horn. A golden bell tore down the barricade of stones and the dwarves came rushing out, led by Thorin Oakenshield. The dwarves regained their courage and, led by their king, charged back into battle.
"The dwarves, they are going into battle." stated Bilbo the obvious.
It was impressive to watch though, just a few minutes ago weak and almost defeated and now the dwarves were slaughtering everything in their path in a wedge formation.

I could no longer admire this spectacle, for here in Thal it was just as bad as before. I murdered my way through the orcs, occasionally helping people to escape into the great hall, and saw more and more dead bodies. A few days ago this would have sounded absurd, but I hoped that Thranduil was all right, because I hadn't seen him for a long time. Rather by accident my gaze swept the Raven Hill, I spotted Thorin, Dwalin, Fili and Kili. "Gandalf look." I pointed to the riders who kept cutting down orcs.
Gandalf narrowed his eyes.
"What are they up to?" I looked a little too long at Kili.
Gandalf leaned a little on his staff "Cut the head off the serpent!"
Azog, I realised. They were going to kill Azog. I watched the dwarves disappear into the mist of the mountain, I would have loved to have ridden after them, but I was needed here, for slowly the humans were gaining the upper hand over the orcs again, now that the women from the Great Hall had also joined the fight, full of courage. I plunged a knife into the eye of an orc, black blood splashing my face.
"Gandalf!" The clatter of hooves rang out, Legolas came riding through an archway and shot an orc as he jumped off. He had probably returned from Gunderbard, but from his face I could tell he had returned with terrible news.
"Legolas." Gandalf came rushing up to the Elf "It is truly good to see you."
"A second orc army is coming from the north." Legolas looked urgently at Gandalf "they are as good as there already."
I gasped, the North was at Raven Hill. Kili was there, they would be overrun. "I need your horse!"
Gandalf looked at me warningly "Leona, you can't do this, they will see you coming and you will die."
I swung myself onto the horse "I don't need your permission Gandalf." I looked to the mountain where Kili was somewhere not knowing what to expect "I have finally found something worth living for and if I die for it so be it!" I could not go on living if Kili was no longer there to live with me. I spurred my horse and rode to Rabenberg. There were no orcs to be seen yet, but it was only a matter of time. As long as it was possible for the horse, I steered it over the rocky paths. Then I ran on foot, I jumped over rocks and came to a stone staircase. Thorin and Dwalin were clearing the last remnants of a group of goblins. "Thorin!" I braced my hands on my knees, for I had never run faster in my life.
"Leona what are you doing here?" the mad glint was gone from Thorin's eyes. He was back to the dwarf I had come to know and appreciate over the past year.
"There is a Second Army on the way." I pointed to the north "It's almost here." I looked around hastily, where on earth was Kili?
Dwalin clenched his hands into fists "That orc is in there, we are so close......"
"No," Thorin frowned "he's trying to lure us in. It's a trap."
I didn't want to realise what Thorin was saying but I did anyway "Thorin where are Kili and Fili?"
Suddenly a drum sounded, light flared in the tower in front of me. Arzog came to the edge. I slapped my hands over my mouth, the pale orc held Fili by the scruff of the neck. Blood ran down the dwarf's face and he still struggled in vain against the orc's grip.
"First this one dies!" Arzog roared in black tongue "Then his brother, then the Elfess and then you Oakenshield." he looked at Thorin who stood transfixed "you will die last."
As slowly as I could I reached for a knife in my sleeve.
Fili fidgeted with his legs "Flee!" he shouted at us " RUN!"
