No one can stand against the dwarves' stubbornness.

I stared at Thranduil with hatred. To my right and left stood two guards, each holding a bucket of water. My hands had been tied around a pillar. My bodice had been removed with a dagger, just as they were now doing to my blouse. I forced myself not to make a sound, not to show them that I was afraid.
Thranduil smiled coldly " Still I can spare you the pain." he looked at me urgently "Tell me, how will they get into the mountain?"
Shakily I breathed in and out "Forget it!" I felt a twinge in my back and hissed out. Although part of my back was still covered by my leather top, I felt the cracking strokes of the whip through it too. It also came next and next, I bit my tongue until it bled, I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of hearing me scream.
Thranduil raised his hand and the pain stopped " Their plan!"
I forced air in and out of my lungs, and just shook my head. Pain exploded in my back, again and again. Fire erupted from my hands, I didn't mean to, it just happened. Desperately I tried to stop it, because I knew exactly what was coming. I roared as water was taught over me. When my fire was extinguished by water, it felt like part of me was drowning. I squirmed and pulled at my bonds, flinging my wet hair out of my face.
I screamed as the whip grazed my face, leaving a bloody trail. The longer it went on, the more strokes I received, the louder I screamed. But I would not give in. I cried out with each blow that hit my body, each blow bringing me closer to fainting. With the next blow I slid down the column, my legs no longer supporting my weight. All of a sudden it stopped, I didn't know why.
" you' re going to kill her...."
Dazed I turned my head, as far as I could tell Legolas was standing in front of his father. I was too exhausted and too hurt to understand anything. I was just glad it had stopped. The guards loosened my handcuffs and I fell to the ground, groaning slightly as I fell onto my back, I would have liked to scream, but there wasn't enough strength left. The guards lifted me up, weakly I hung between them unable to walk on my own. Even before we reached the cell block, I sank into the welcome embrace of unconsciousness.

I clutched the bars of my cell with my hands. Thorin and Leona were with Thranduil and I could do nothing, absolutely nothing. Two guards approached us, pushing my uncle in front of them. They threw him into a cell and slammed the door behind him.
"Where's Leona?" I craned my neck but couldn't make her out anywhere.
Her scream went through me. I shook the bars. Each of her screams echoed loudly through the halls and stung my heart. "What is he doing to her?" I whispered in horror. I tried to kick down the door, to no avail. Suddenly her screams stopped, I didn't know what had been worse, hearing her scream or the silence. That's when I saw her, she was still far away but I would recognise her anywhere. She was hanging unconscious between two guards.
"Leona!" I shouted when she was within shouting distance and braced myself against the bars.
One of the guards unlocked my cell door and simply dropped the black-haired woman onto the floor of the cell. I rushed to her and knelt beside her. With trembling hands I looked at her back. An unbelievable rage rose up in me as I pulled her blouse, which was covered in blood, off her back. Deep, bloody weals ran down every part of her back. I didn't know what to do, so I just brushed her wet hair out of her face. A bloody scrape ran across her cheek.
"Such monsters!" I said. As carefully as I could, and without touching her back, I laid her down on the elevation in the cell, which was supposed to be some kind of bed.
"How badly is she hurt?" I heard the voice of my uncle, who was sitting two cells away with Fili.
"Too bad!" I shouted back. I would kill every single one of them.
Suddenly Leona began to move. "Leona?"
Fluttering she opened her eyes, they were a little glassy she twisted her mouth into a grin "Kili."

The first thing I saw were Kili's brown eyes. I smiled which caused a stinging pain in my cheek "Kili." I tried to pull myself up.
"No Leona, don't." Kili pushed me back down onto the floor.
I hissed out as I moved my back and intense pain shot through it, steadily getting worse. " That bad then, mhm." I hissed, trying to breathe against the pain that was flooding my whole body from my back. Slowly my vision came back into focus and I looked around a bit. I was lying on some kind of elevation, Kili was sitting next to me on the floor and looking at me, I could hardly believe it, worriedly.
Something was pushed into my field of vision, through the cell door. I could see Legolas pushing a bowl of water and a clean cloth through the cell door, "To clean the wounds." Without another word, he left.
I bit my lip, not all the elves of the Bleak Forest were as heartless as their king after all.
Kili grabbed the bowl and dipped the cloth in it "Hold still." his voice was so soft, so full of feeling, that I felt momentarily safe.
I clenched my hands into fists and involuntarily pressed myself to the floor as he began to gently dab my back. I hissed and groaned as the water hit my wounds and washed away the clotted blood.
"Almost over." muttered Kili over and over.
Finally he squatted down beside my face and dabbed at the wound on my face. I was so done in by the pain and not quite sane. I put my hand on his, which just cleaned the blood from my cheek "Thank you." I breathed.
He just smiled "Rest." Left his hand on my cheek a little longer than necessary and stroked it.
Fluttering, I closed my eyes, not knowing if I was falling asleep or passing out. I didn't care, because the last thing I saw was Kili sitting next to me and smiling at me.
