Lionfish Predaking x Merwhale reader.

"Aahhhhoooooo~"

A fellow whale pod responded back with a low, aquatic noise back. (Y/n) grinned with excitement and continued the conversation.

"Maarrooooooo~"

This is how the lovely Mer spent her day. She was quite shy of her body, so she took to staying away from the main city and relaxed the the others of her kind. Even if they weren't Mers themselves.

Compared to the normal appearance of a whale, (y/n) supported a more pinkish body colour. Soft water like blues spotted all around on her, making up the cute freckles on her face and torso. Her eyes a beautiful (e/c) that could be seen from miles away.

(Y/n) was the most adorable whale you'd ever seen. It was just a shame that she didn't like how she looked. It was strange to the other mers of her kind. Making her an outcast.

Though it does has its negative affect on her, it didn't mean she disliked life. On the contrary, she adored exploring. So much so that she was on her way to continue searching through a huge, sunken thing.

It looked like one of those human things to travel on water. A boat? Or was it called an oil tanker? Nevertheless, (y/n) wanted to get back to where she last left off.

She knew the dangers of going so deep. She knew the dangers of the decepti-sharks. Even if those that hid in the shadows and even call this sunken wrecks, home.

But at the same time, she was naive. Forgetting how big she really was compared to tight spots. Witch more often or not, got her injured. Even worse, bleeding.

But like was said, she didn't care much. She'd discover things others are too afraid of. Such things as what humans used to lock up others.

"So it's not just for decor..." She inspected, her tail flicked to help her swim further in. Eyes wide at the rooms she had yet to see. There were times where shadows looked over her, it did scare her every now and again. But then something shiny would distract her.

"Woah! It that a perl necklace?" She took it off a human skeleton to try it on. But of course it was too small. Looking at it again gave her a new idea.

"Oh! I know! It'll sit on my back fin." (Y/n) popped it on the fin on her back. The femal became frustrated when it just slipped off.

Faintly, something moved in the distance. Inky and stripped.

"Ahh!" (Y/n) shouted tried to swim to safety, but sadly it only caused more trouble. She had tried to swim out a hatch that was smaller that her width, hip flippers included.

"No! Nononononono!!" The whale tried to squeeze through the hatch. It only made things more worse as the ship started to creak and groan around her tense form. Upon hearing this noise echo, she froze.

"Seaweed." Pink cursed. "And I almost wasted my oxygen too."

(Y/n) didn't budge from then on. She was trying to think of something to get herself out. Groaning from a lack of thought, her fishy mind did start to drift to what scared her. Something jumped her.

'It was big, no doubt about that. Orange? No, more redish. Big head... 8 ar-'

Then it hit her, well. It touched her.

"Ahh!!!" She screamed loudly, her tail frailed up and down in an attempt to atleast swat it away.

"Do you know how stupid this looks and how you acted?" A smooth and light unamused voice spoke out behind her. "And also, your wasting your breath."

"Eeap" She squeaked. She tried to look at who was talking, but couldn't move enough to see through the small hatch opening.

The owner of the voice sighed lightly as he managed to grab her tail. Pulling her back and out of the hatch. (Y/n) just allowed it to happen. She couldn't get far anyway if she tried to escape. Once fully free, she was able to see who helped her out.

"Your not as large as the other whales, nor a similar colour." He asked, drifting around her in such a small space. He inspected her more closely. "How come?"

The mer was a very dark brown with orange stripes. His eyes a brilliant yellow like colour. The fins on his head were sharp and royal looking. His build made him a big mer, a strong one too. The way his fins were and how they stuck out, made him out to be a Lionfish Mer. He was a dashing male. But the thing was, they commonly lived near and around coral.

"I-I... uh. I don't know why, I just... am." (Y/n) stuttered in slight fear. She had heard that a lionfish has a type venom that causes extreme pain. Other times, respiratory distress and even paralysis. Because of this, getting on one's bad side is never a good thing.

"Interesting, your like me. You don't look like the others fully, or the minimum size. Just like I'm much larger and darker colored than my proper fish counterpart." He swam around her more, eyeing the whale from head to tail and back to head.

Once satisfied with his inspection, the lionfish moved away from her and swam deeper into the ship.

"Hey wait! Who are you?" She tried to follow him, but failed to be even half his speed. "Na! Wait! Please..."

But no matter how hard she moved her tail, she just wasn't fast enough. Her body just wasn't born to be fast.

She felt alone again. He was dangerous, clearly not meant to be around a whale like her and this made her sniff in sadness. She started to cry lightly soon after.

After her moment to herself, she looked around her and calmed down. She wanted to go after him, (y/n) wanted to at least say thank you to him for helping her.

She needed to.

——

After some tight spots and a few small cuts across her body, (y/n) managed to get to an open space if the ship. She was in utter wonderment of the room.

(Y/n) forgot about what she was trying to do and started to explore everything she could see. Glowing Jellyfish were trapped in cages of sorts to light up the place in a beautiful blue glow.

Her tail slapped against one of the pillars as she turned around it and the ceiling collapsed on top of her form. She yelled and then screamed as the sudden weight and pain the landed on her tail and fins.

"Ahhh! Owww!" (Y/n) yelp and looked to see the damage. The ship trembled with this new, broken part of the ship. The whole side started to creak and groan. It ever so slightly started tilting. And that was a really bad sign.

The water bubbles worth he movements and that part of the ship fell. (Y/n) yelped and he started to fall with the ship. Luck was on her side though as the same male as before swam down and grabbed the whale. He got her out of the fallen parts and took you up to the surface.

It was at this point she desperately needed to breath. So once above the water, the female took a gulp of air and coughed up any water left in her body. All the while, the male lionfish held her above water.

He didn't say anything, just watched her regular her breathing. Now he was able to see her pink color properly.

"I..I..." (y/n) tried to speak but only coughed up more water. Once the water was out and she could breath, the mer-whale looked up to the male. She was amazed at how handsomely Black and orange he was. The fins and such standing out in the afternoon sun.

"I... Thank you."
