Chapter Nine - Soviet Secrets
Later on, (YN), Jake, and Simmons were sitting in the back of Simmons' car while Vanessa was riding shotgun, a white Maybach, with Dutch at the wheel. Bumblebee, Elita One, Mirage, Sideswipe and the Twins were driving right alongside them like an escort as extra percussion in case of a Decepticon decided to use the element of surprise and attack them.
Simmons: "Going to a gig on the hunt for two Russian cosmonauts." He told (YN) and Jake over the loud wind. "Nothing like driving in a Maybach, huh? Germans know how to make cars, let me tell you." (YN) couldn't help but nod back in agreement.
After an hour of driving or so, Dutch and the Autobots pull over across the street from a dark building. Simmons then took out a set of binoculars as (YN) stare out. Very few people were on the street, but they all looked like people who were going about their normal activities, not people who were hiding.
Simmons: "My Dutchman, former NSA cybersleuth extraordinaire, tracked them down... here." He muttered as he looked through a pair of binoculars for any signs of the Russians they were searching for.
Dutch sat in the driver's seat, occasionally typing on his computer next to him as the monitor showed two pictures of the two cosmonauts. One is named Dimitri, and the other named Yuri. He wore headphones and looked through military grade binoculars that were directed at the people walking across the way.
(YN): "So, these cosmonauts went into hiding in America. But the question is why?" He wondered.
Dutch: "Bingo. I got a match." He chimed, and the four of them turned to look at where he was pointing, to see a small group of two men with a provocatively dressed woman. Those must be the two cosmonauts from the pictures on the computer.
Simmons: "You're a German Shepherd, Dutch." He smirked, and the group climbed out of the car.
Simmons made his way towards the trunk of a car. He popped it open and unlocked a brief case that lay inside. When the (YN), Jake, and Vanessa join him, they could see that the brief case held handguns and a brass knuckle.
Simmons: "The thing about Russians..." He grabbed a Glock 17 pistol. "They never like to talk." He stated, cocking the pistol. "It's gonna take a little of the 'international language'."
Jake: "By threatening them with a gun?" He questioned. "Sure, why not. What's the worst that can happen."
(YN), Jake, and Vanessa were in there military uniform and (YN) puts his bracers on his forearms. The three of them then follows Simmons and Dutch across the street and into the building the two cosmonauts entered earlier. They entered a narrow, dimly lit hallway where boxes of alcohol are lined up against the wall and the metal door at the end of the hall. Simmons knocks on the door three times and the small eye hatch of the door sharply slides open, and a pair of eyes blink at Simmons.
Simmons: "Do svidaniya." He greeted, thinking he was saying a useful Russian.
Russian Guard: "That means 'good-bye'." He claimed before he slid the slot back into its place.
(YN): "Really." He hissed. "How could you not know what it means."
Simmons: "Well in case you haven't figured it out, I DONT SPEAK RUSSIAN!" He snapped in a quiet tone. "Don't worry, I have another idea."
(YN): "Which is?" He inquired.
Simmons: "Watch this." He tapped the door once again and was greeted with the same pair of eyes. He then hands the guard a wad of money. The door now opens, allowing the five to enter the room.
The group was met with loud Russian music blaring in the background and the strong scent of cigarettes and alcohol. The room itself looked like an average bar, with waiters walking around carrying trays of drinks and Russians scattered across the room, drinking, laughing, talking to themselves. In the back of the room was the group of three people that entered the building sitting in a booth.
One of the cosmonauts, Dimitri, noticed the five strangers, and stared in slight shock. He wondered who they were and how they could have possibly found him. Simmons noticed the change in Dimitri's eyes and smirked.
Simmons: "Dutch, give me something tough." He ordered, as they came to a halt in front of the cosmonauts and his group. Dutch pulled out a an English to Russian dictionary as he quickly flipped through the pages.
Dutch: "Ah ... B-Baryshnikov." He stammered, trying to pronounce the word.
Dimitri: "We do speak English." He stated calmly and plainly.
(YN): "Take five, Dutch." He said to Dutch.
Simmons: "Dutch, you suck." He insulted and he walked away from Dutch.
Dutch: "It's a Cyrillic... alphabet! It's like all the buttons you never push on a calculator!" He shouted, and the Russians laughed at his expense. "I don't suck." He defended himself, but Simmons and (YN) paid him no mind as they sat down on a pair of wooden chairs, Dimitri on the other side of the table, facing them.
Simmons: "Agent Seymour Simmons, Sector Eight, formerly Seven. And this is my comrade, Commander (YN) Witwicky." He introduced himself and (YN) with a smug smirk on his face as if he just solved the world's largest problem. "We know who you are, cosmonaut chiks."
Vanessa: "Since when?" She whispered to Jake.
(YN): "If you don't mind us, we were hoping to ask you cosmonauts a couple of questions." He asked to them.
Yuri: "So what." He asked. His blank demeanor did not change.
Simmons: "You were supposed to travel to the dark side of the moon. Then, tsk..." He shook his head. "It all got shut down." He began as he took a shot glass from the table. "The question is... why?" He asked, pouring himself a drink.
The woman turns to face Dimitri, and she said something very quickly in Russian. Dutch then quickly flip through the pages of his dictionary in attempt to translate what she said.
Dutch: "Can my child smoke in here?" He translated in a questioning tone.
The female bartender grimaced at Dutch, probably at his stupidity when it came to translating Russian, before she turned her attention to the beautiful Russian lady, and she shouted something back at her. Once again in Russian.
The shouting match between the two woman stopped abruptly, but the tension in no means vanished, in fact, it grew. The beauty queen pulled a small Walther PPK/S pistol out of god knows where, and pushed it into the tip of Simmons' nose. The Russian lady's actions set off a chain reaction throughout the club. The bartender pulled out a large 12 Gauge Double Barreled shotgun, and held it to Dutch's head, while one man came up from behind (YN), one shoving him into the bar, and holding a Norinco Type 54 pistol to his face. Another man appeared from behind Vanessa and pointed the same pistol at the back of her head. Jake, however, was in an uncomfortable headlock with the pistol placed on the side of his head.
(YN): "This just went South fast." He muttered, all the while trying to focus on what Simmons is doing.
Simmons: "Go ahead, shoot me." He said, not a trace of fear in his words, or on his face. "I'm willing to die for my country. Are you?" He asked the Russian lady, and she yelled something at him in Russian. "Really?" He chuckled, taunting her with the fact that he couldn't understand her.
(YN) flinched at the women's shrill voice as she yelled something once more at Simmons, but he glanced at the bar when he heard the bartender yell something in Russian, but brushed it off, thinking she was warning Dutch not to move again since he had turned around to face the action.
Simmons: "You are beautiful. Has anyone ever told you you're beautiful?" Simmons asked the Russian lady, who had pressed the barrel of the gun further into his nose. The lady shouted something at Simmons, but he smirked and turned to face Dimitri. "She's a beautiful woman." He smirked, before the bartender shouted something in Russian.
(YN) jumped when Dutch shouted out something, not a word, just a sound, before he spun around and wrenched the shotgun from the women's hand. The motion of the shotgun being forced from her hands, forced her to fall chest first into the bar, before Dutch backhanded her across the face, and then grab her elbow, easily flipping her onto her back, before she slid down off of the bar, unconscious. Dutch's actions forced (YN)'s instincts to take over, and he ripped the gun away from him, threw it to the side, before spinning around and deployed his shield and smashing his face, sending the man to the ground, gripping himself in pain. Another man went up to (YN), but stopped when (YN) deployed his rifle, aiming at his face.
Jake: "HOLY F-" He yelled out.
Simmons: "Whoa! Hey!" He shouted, and (YN) shook his head.
Dutch spun around, shotgun in hand, and finger on trigger, pointing the barrel of the gun at one of the Russian men that attempted to sneak up on him. The young man held his hand up in surrender, terror clear on his face, and Dutch slowly crouched down onto his knee, the young man copying his actions.
Simmons: "Dutch! Back in the cage." He ordered softly. Dutch was panting heavily, and has a crazy glint in his eyes.
Dutch: "Hyaaaaarh!" He shouted and he spun the shotgun around to point it at Simmons' area, while pointing a Glock 17 that he pulled out that tried to sneak up on him. People began yelling again, the atmosphere changing from hostile to distress.
Vanessa: "Simmons, do something with your boy!" She begged Simmons.
Simmons: "Dutch! Hold, Dutch, hold!" He shouted, his voice thick with a German accent, and while his body actions remained calm, yet frightened. "Dutch, schtop! Ich-ku-klav-kush-kash, SCHTOP!" He shouted, and Dutch dropped the pistol with a loud thud and lowered the shotgun as a terrified and self loathing expression formed on his face.
Dutch: "I'm so sorry. That is the old me." He apologized to the young man, his voice quiet and frightened as he gestured to himself.
Simmons: "Okay, let's everybody just calm down, let's lower the heat, lower the guns, let's relax." He suggested. "World War Two is over." Thankfully, the Russians obeying the command, lowering their guns.
(YN): "Okay, everybody stop. Alright? We just came here to get some answers. That's all. Not to reiterate any long term grudges." He added as his weapons transforming back into the bracers. "You may know some information that will help us."
Dimitri and Yuri looked at each other as if they were deciding whether to cooperate or not. Finally, Yuri nodded and the two men stood up from the booth.
Dimitri: "Follow us." He urged the group before exiting the room through a side door.

The group obliged and followed Dimitri and Yuri down a very long, dim, slightly wide hallway and into a dusty room filled with cobwebs. In the corner was a tall safe that looked as if it hadn't been touched for decades.
Dimitri: "You are about to see one of the biggest Soviet secrets." He revealed as he unlocked and opened the large safe.
Yuri held the door open for him to grab a large stack of files, and tossed a dusty red file onto a wooden table. Dimitri motioned to three seats of the table and (YN), Jake, and Vanessa sat down opposite of the two cosmonauts on the other side of the table - Vanessa on the right, (YN) in the middle, and Jake on the left.
(YN): "Okay. What's the story?" He questioned.
Dimitri: "America first to send man to the moon, but USSR first to send camera." He explained as he held up the pictures in his hands. "In 1959, our Luna Three take picture of the... dark, the shadow side. Sees nothing. But in 1963, Luna Four sees-"
Yuri: "Strange rocks." He revealed, holding a few photos in his hands.
Dimitri: "Yeah." He confirmed.
Yuri: "Around the ship. Hundreds of them." He added, looking between the three.
Vanessa: "Hundreds?" She asked.
Dimitri: "Yeah, show picture, hm?" He urged Yuri to hand (YN) the pictures.
(YN) held one of the picture between Jake and Vanessa that showed the surface of the moon with strange indents and lines on it as Simmons and Dutch looked over their heads to take a look.
Yuri: "With some... drag marks." He finished.
(YN) grabbed the next photo to look that show the strange rocks that looked as if they were stacked neatly together. (YN)'s eyes widened in realization as he stared at the photo. They weren't rocks at all. They were something far more advanced.
(YN): "I've seen these. These aren't rocks. They're pillars." He pointed out.
Dimitri: "Pillars?" He repeated, confused.
Simmons: "What do you mean?" He asked.
(YN): "These are Sentinel's lost pillars." He revealed. "He said he once had hundreds of them. When Optimus found him, he only has five of them. These are the missing pillars." He explained, and the Russians looked at him with clear confusion. "They're alien pillars for a Space Bridge, used for transporting resources and refugees." He added. "We know about them because the Autobots have five of these. That's why there weren't any others found than the ones with Sentinel in the ship's crash vault."
Jake: "But the question is... when did they go missing?" He wondered.
Simmons: "The Decepticons must have raided the ship before Apollo 11 ever got there, took the pillars, and hid them." He deduced, pointing down at the pictures.
(YN): "This doesn't make sense. The Decepticons have the ship. They have all those pillars. Why would they leave Sentinel when he's the only one who can use them?" He asked in confusion.
Simmons: "Unless..." He trailed off, afraid to say the words.
(YN): "Oh no..." He realized in horror.

After they thanked and left the Russian cosmonauts, they started walking out the room. The five quickly walked out of the bar and didn't waste any time walking towards the Autobots, who were all in their robot modes.
Skids: "Yo, watch you guys find?" He asked.
Vanessa: "The whole thing was a setup." She answered. "The Decepticons had already known about the Ark crashing on the moon, and took the rest of the pillars before the Space Race with Apollo 11 commenced."
Mudflap: "But that would mean they left the Big S to die." He spoke up, confused yet curious.
Sideswipe: "Don't they need Sentinel to activate the pillars?" He asked, confused. "Why would they leave him there?"
Mirage: "This doesn't make sense. They could have just take him with them at the time." He added.
Elita One: "Because he was in stasis mode when we found him." She realized, catching everyone's attention. "They didn't have a way to revive him... but we did. And there's only one known way to reignite a Transformers spark."
Jake: "You don't mean...?" He trailed off, looking at the four humans.
Simmons: "The Matrix of Leadership." He breathed as his eyes widened, understanding brewing in them.
(YN): "And now that he's back, he's the one thing they still need to activate the pillars." He added. "They waited for the right moment."
Simmons: "So that's why the Decepticons did everything they could to hide everything from the moon before." He summarized. "They didn't want the astronauts or anyone to find it until they had a way to bring Sentinel back, until now."
Jake: "And they won't stop until they get what they want." He added.
Vanessa: "Whether Sentinel wants to help them or not." She concluded.
(YN): "Then we have to make sure they don't capture Sentinel." He decided determinedly. "Because if they do, who knows what the Decepticons will make him do with those pillars."
Simmons: "So what do we do?" He now questioned (YN).
(YN): "We got to meet up with Sentinel. Rendezvous with him and keep him safe." He declared. "Elita, contact Sentinel to meet us at a different location." He told her.
Elita One: "On it." She nodded, and contacted Sentinel.
(YN): "Once we grab Sentinel, we must make sure he safely escorted back to HQ. And we have to warn NEST about this. It's our only way of ensuring that he is safe." He added. "We need to move now."
And so they did, the Autobots transformed into their vehicle modes as (YN) got into Bumblebee while Jake and Vanessa got into Simmons' car, and they all drove away from the Russian bar to meet Sentinel in a different location. And hope the Decepticons do not get to Sentinel first.
To Be Continued...
