Chapter Twelve - Classified Above Top Secret
Things are not looking too good at the Pentagon as Secretary Keller was having a meeting with several military generals and officers that were on the monitors. They were preparing for war.
Air Force General: "The Chinese and the Russians are nearing our area of operations in the Western Pacific." He addressed. "We feel like things will get out of hand real fast."
Keller: "But the next couple of hours may just define his presidency." He stated to prove their hostility.
Then suddenly, a man with a silver suitcase came in the room and he looked like he had important information that can shift the balance of this situation. Information that will get everyone up to date.
Maj Gen Burton: "US and Chinese task forces approaching 100 nautical miles of cruise missile range." He informed Keller.
Keller: "Tell the strike group commander that he's not to engage unless fired on first!" He ordered sternly.
Maj Gen Burton: "Yes, sir." He nodded.
Banacheck: "Mr. Secretary?" He called, informing Keller of his presence. "Tom Banacheck. I'm with Sector Seven, Advanced Research Division." He introduced himself.
Keller: "Never heard of it. I'm a little busy, Tom. I think you can see that." With that, he returned to work.
Then suddenly, all the screens went statically. The entire command center went into a panic, trying to get the information back online.
Keller: "Sit rep! Talk to me!" He demanded.
Maj Gen Burton: "The whole room's gone down, sir." He stated.
Keller: "I can see that!" He responded sharply.
Brig Gen Wright: "The virus was coded to shut us down." He explained.
Banacheck: "I'll take a seat." He walked away to a nearby bench, as he knew that he will explain everything in due time.
Keller: "What do you mean, shut us down?" He queried demandingly.
Maj Gen Burton: "They used our network to spread out to the whole world. The blackout's global." He informed. "We have no communications, satellite and land lines are dead."
Keller: "You mean to tell me that I cannot pick up this telephone and call my fam-?" He picked up the room's phone, which had no sound. Then he tried his cellphone, but it wouldn't even turn on. He dropped his phone in disbelief and terror. What was to become of the planet?
Banacheck: "Mr. Secretary. I'm here under direct order from the President." He claimed, getting Keller's attention, "You really need to see what I have in the case."

In a separate room, Banacheck unlocks his briefcase, and pulls out a chip and inserts it into a computer with Keller looking on with crossed hands.
Banacheck: "You'll have to accept that there are certain things you won't understand right away." He stated, causing Keller to raise an eyebrow. "Sector Seven is a special-access division of the government convened in secret under President Hoover eighty years ago. You may remember NASA JPL lost the Beagle 2 Mars Rover?" He asked, Keller slightly nodded. "We told them to report the mission a complete failure. It wasn't." He turned the laptop around to show Keller the footage of the rover. "Beagle 2 transmitted thirteen seconds. This was classified above top secret." He played the video from the Beagle 2 rover.
The video shows the rover moving away from the platform it landed on and started to travel around the planet Mars that day. It seemed like a peaceful and exciting scout mission for the small robot. But then suddenly, a sound came - a kind of stomping noise, followed by a shadow emerging from behind the rover. Keller felt a shiver run down his back as the stomping noise was getting closer and closer. And as soon as one of the camera turned in the direction of shadow, Keller eyes widened at what he saw next. It was a large humanoid creature that appeared on the screen, it was all metallic with its right arm reached out as it was being shadowed out by the sun.
When the creature reached to the rover, the transmission was cut off, and the screen went static. Keller looked back at Banacheck after what he had witnessed.
Banacheck: "More than just a pile of Martian rocks." He stated grimly.
Keller may have appeared to be unshaken by this, but he was suddenly beginning to think that Maggie may have been right all along.
Banacheck: "This is the image from Mars." He explained, handing Keller the old photo. Then as Keller examined the photo, he then handed him a newer photo with a similar image, "Here's the image your Special Ops team was able to retrieve from the base attack. We believe they are of the same exoskeletal type, and obviously not Russian or North Korean."
Keller: "Are we talking about an invasion?" He inquired, dreading the answer.
Banacheck: "We intercepted the message from your Special Ops team." He continued. "These things can be hurt by our weapons and now they know it. That's why the virus shut us down. So we can't coordinate against their next attack, which I would bet my ridiculous government salary is coming. Soon."
Upon hearing what Banacheck told him, Keller talks with some of the Pentagon's operatives about possible alternate communication methods.
Keller: "Get word to our fleet commanders over the National Guard frequency. It's a shortwave radio channel. It might be still working. Tell them to turn their ships around and come home. ASAP." He ordered the operatives and they nodded. He then began to walk out of the command center with Krankl beside him. "And inform all commands to prepare for imminent attack." He commanded Krankl, who nodded.

At the Nellis Air Force base in Southern Nevada, Captain Lennox, Sergeant Epps, and the crew had finally made it to the airport. Fig was transported to the nearest hospital, hopefully he was getting the best care and will recovered from his wounds. The captain and sergeant were packed and were ready to finally go home. But then, several black GMC Yukons came up and a government agent ran up to them.
Agent: "Captain Lennox, we need you and your team to come with us right now!" He ordered, grabbing Epps' bag. "Let's go!"
Despite the perplexity of the situation, they follow the man to what might be another mission and it could involve the hostile robots from before.

Maggie and Glen still wait inside the interrogation room after being held in custody for the past three days. Maggie looked relaxed on her seat with her feet on the table while Glen with his arms on the table as he looks like he's gonna vomit, due to eating a plate chock full of donuts. So he has half empty bottle of Pepto Bismol, and a fizzy cup of water with Alka-Setlzer to keep him from vomiting. Then suddenly the door opened, and a few FBI Agents and Keller entered the room.
FBI Agent: "She's in here." He informed Keller.
Maggie: "What's going on?" She demanded, taking her feet of the table.
Keller: "You're coming with me." He answered. "You're going to be my advisor."
Glen: "Me too?" He asked, fully recovered from his sugar rush.
Keller: "Who's this?" He asked perplexed.
Maggie: "He's my advisor." She answered. Keller gave quick glances between her and Glen.
Keller: "He comes too." He proclaimed, wanting to waste no more time lollygagging.

A pair of Sikorsky UH- 60 Black Hawk helicopter flies through the skies above the desert along the Colorado River, making their way to their destination. Inside the chopper, Maggie and Glen are face to face with (YN) and Mikaela because they both have similar experiences and somewhat similar connections towards the aliens.
(YN): "So..." He spoke up.
Maggie: "What'd they get you for?" She asked.
(YN): "Well, I bought a car, turned out to be an alien robot." He shrugged back. Glen's mouth 'Wow' in awe. "Who knew, right?"
Soon enough, the Black Hawks were now making their way towards one of the most iconic dams in the world: the Hoover Dam, a 726.4ft tall 1,244 ft long concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River.
Once they landed at the helipad a little ways away, the passengers emptied out of the Black Hawks, and began to take in their surroundings.
Unbeknownst to them, several feet below the dam, Bumblebee was being hauled into a tunnel inside the dam as the Sector Seven troopers sprayed him with the nitrogen.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the United States, the Autobots have all gathered at the Griffith Observatory, all of them in full robot mode, with no sign of the humans, which was fortunate. Jazz, Ratchet, Longarm, Arcee, Cliffjumper, and Ironhide watched as Optimus carefully holds the glasses containing the information they were looking for.
Optimus: "Please. Let this work." He begged softly, closing his optics.
Jazz: "Fire it up, Optimus." He called.
Optimus held up the glasses as a thin blue light shone from his eyes into the lenses, hitting the spot where the location was marked, now projecting a hologram of Earth. It showed the exact location of the AllSpark.
Optimus: "The code. The code on these glasses indicates the AllSpark is 230 miles from here." He stated to his Autobots before he stopped the scanning.
Arcee: "From what I've heard from the humans call the internet, the location where the coordinates are marked is called the Hoover Dam." She informed. "It's about a 5 or 7 hour drive from here."
Cliffjumper: "That's gotta be where the Cube is." He deduced. Then he noticed Ratchet looking up at the sky. "What is it, Ratchet?"
Ratchet: "I sense the Decepticons are getting ready to mobilize." He announced.
Ironhide: "They must know it's here as well." He nodded in agreement.
Longarm: "Then we better get to the Hoover Dam before they do." He insisted. "And fast."
Jazz: "What about Bumblebee?" He protested to the others. "We can't just leave him to die and become some human experiment!"
|—————————|—————————|
Bumblebee was brought into a large laboratory in the Hoover Dam, and raised onto a table with the nitrogen gas still spraying at him. The scientists were about to perform an autopsy on the yellow Autobot, only the suspect of the experiment is still alive.
|—————————|—————————|
Optimus: "He'll die in vain if we don't accomplish our mission." He argued back at them. "Bumblebee is a brave soldier. This is what he would want."
Cliffjumper: "I just wish we could have save Bee. Somehow." He thought out loud.
Longarm: "I wish that we can help him, too." He comforted Cliffjumper, putting a hand on his shoulder. "But we can't just rush in there and well..." He trailed off.
Arcee: "He's right." She agreed with Longarm. "If we did try, we would have been caught ourselves." She explained in a calm matter.
Ironhide: "Why are we fighting to save the humans?" He now questioned Optimus. "They're a primitive and violent race."
|—————————|—————————|
The scientists started to shock Bumblebee with live electrical currents as a test. Bumblebee howled and screeched in agony and struggled to break free, but to no avail. They kept shocking him and blasted liquid nitrogen on him to keep him still.
|—————————|—————————|
Optimus: "We're we so different?" He answered. "They're a young species. They have much to learn. But I've seen goodness in them. (YN), for instance."
|—————————|—————————|
A few Sector Seven GMC Yukons pull up on the road on top of the Hoover Dam. Maggie and Glen stepped out of one van and Lennox and his team stepped out of at least two vans.
"I can sense the goodness within him, and could see it in his eyes. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."
On the lead Yukon, (YN) and Mikaela stepped out and walked towards the edge of the dam which has a concrete barrier to not make pedestrians fall off. They are astounded by the enormous and beautiful view they've receiving.
|—————————|—————————|
Optimus: "You all know know there's only one way to end this war." He turned to them. "We must destroy the Cube."
Longarm: "But, if we do that... we won't have the chance to rebuild our home." He pointed out.
Optimus: "We will do what we must." He clarified firmly. "If all else fails," He separated his two chest plates to reveal his spark chamber. "I will unite it with the spark in my chest." He declared, his spark flashing in a bright blue glow.
Arcee: "But, Optimus! That's suicide!" She argued back.
Ratchet: "Arcee is right. The Cube is raw power, it could destroy you both." He cautioned.
Optimus: "A necessary sacrifice to bring peace to this planet." He smiled, without a bit of fear or regret. "We cannot let the humans pay for our mistakes." He turned to his teammates. "It's been an honor serving with you all." He now looked out at the horizon. "Autobots. Roll out!" He commanded.
Jazz: "We rollin'!" He laughed as they head off.
They all transform into their vehicle modes, and they raced away to the Hoover Dam. The location of the AllSpark.
