Chapter One - Attack on Qatar
"Before time began, there was... the Cube."
"We know not where it comes from, only it has the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born."
"For a time, we lived in harmony. But like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil."
"And so began the war, a war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death, and the Cube was lost into the far reaches of space."
"We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home, searching every star, every world."
"And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called... Earth."
"...But we were already too late..."

In the glare of the blazing sun in the State of Qatar in the Middle East, two shadows of military grade CV-22B Osprey helicopters flying in formation over a large desert field.
Inside the lead craft, a group of four cameo-adorned Army Rangers drenched in sweat were returning from a hard mission behind enemy lines. They were under the command of Captain William Lennox, a young, yet capable officer. On his right was Chief Warrent Officer Jorge "Fig" Figueroa, a technical officer. On the other side is an African-American listing to music from his MP3 named Technical Sergeant Robert Epps, a Combat Controller of the U.S. Air Force. And finally, a smart-mouth from Boston, First Sergeant Patrick Donnelly.
Fig: "Oh, God, five months of this. I can't wait to get a little taste of home." He grinned in relief. "A plate a mama's alligators étouffée..." He scrunched up his face at the thought of his mother's home cooking. "Mmm'hmm."
Epps: "You've been talking about barbecued gators and crickets for the last two weeks." He stated, pointing at Fig. "I'm never going to your mama's house, Fig, I promise."
Fig: "But Bobby, Bobby. Gators are known to have the most succulent meat." He protested.
Epps: "I understand." He replied, rolling his eyes. Fig started to rattle in his native Spanish something that he don't seem to understand as he mimics Fig's words. "English, please." He cut him off, who was still rambling.
Lennox: "English." He said with finality in a hoarse tone. "I don't- I mean, how many times have we- we don't speak Spanish." His voice cracked and winced at the pain in his throat, shaking his head. "I told you that."
Fig: "Why do you got ruined it for me, man? That's my heritage." He said defensively before once again launching off in his foreign tongue.
Lennox: "Okay, go with the Spanish." He waved his hand dismissively. "Whatever."
Donnelly: "Hey, you guys remember weekends?" He asked, smacking his gum. "Huh? The Sox at Fenway? Cold hotdog and a flat beer?" He grinned at his teammates, despite his face being filthy.
Fig: "Perfect day." He smiled, thinking back to those weekends. He turned to Lennox. "What about you, Captain? You got a perfect day?"
Lennox: "Ah, I just can't wait to hold my baby girl for the first time." He answered, smiling to himself. Some of the soldiers started teasing him by making baby voices and gestures. "Shut up!" He growled out in embarrassment.
A short while later, the Ospreys were slowly descending to the ground at the SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in a large open desert in Qatar. It is the home to the soldiers belonged to various special ops branches, such as the Army Rangers, Green Berets, Delta Force, Marine Corps, Navy Seals, and the Air Force pilots. The base is equipped with variety of hardware including tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters, fighters, and transport planes. Once they had landed on the landing strip, Lennox and his team made their way out and into the camping quarters to pack up things and head for home.
Various soldiers were everywhere, either trying to kill time, or doing their task in the base. Some of them in the area of the base called "The Lagoon" even set up small inflatable kiddie pools to cool themselves down in the unbearable heat, while others are taking showers in open stall areas.
Epps: "Hey, if any of y'all grow some balls, come see me on the court, man." He called out to the troopers. Eventually, one them came to the court and started playing basketball with him. "Watch this crossover, dog." He smirked, dribbling the ball left and right. "Like Jordan in his prime, pushing through the front line!" He dribbled the ball past his opponent, ready to make the shot.
Burke: "Step aside, ladies." He stepped into the wash stalls, pushing the soldiers aside and stuck his head under the shower column. The three soldiers groaned and complained at this.
Lennox was sitting down on a bench writing on a notepad, when he heard a small voice.
???: "Lennox!" Shouted a young voice.
Lennox and looked to their right. and turned to see a young native boy named Mahfouz running up to him. Mahfouz was a local of Qatar. He lived in a village miles away from the base. He was a good kid, and he really liked hanging out with Lennox's unit.
Lennox: "Hey, how you doing?" He greeted the boy.
Mahfouz: "Water?" He offered, handing him several water containers.
Lennox: "Oh, thank you." He said gratefully, taking one. "Are you gonna help with the gear?" He asked. Mahfouz nodded and they walked off to gather the gear.

Meanwhile, just above the desert, miles away from the base, a huge Sikorsky MH-53J Pave Low III transport/assault helicopter was making its way towards the military installation. The rotor whirred as the blades spin repeatedly, bearing an ominous look to the aircraft.
Back at the military base, inside the control room, there were several men working on the computers to search the areas around the base. Monroe, a radar technician, discovered the chopper on radar.
Monroe: "Colonel Sharp. we have an unidentified inbound infiltrator, 10 miles out." He called. Colonel Sharp walked over and leaned over him to look at the mark of the unidentified aircraft on the screen. Then Sharp proceeds to make contact with the intruder by putting his headset microphone to his mouth.
Col. Sharp: "Unidentified aircraft, you are in restricted US military airspace." He advised through the microphone. "Squawk ident and proceed east out of the area." But the helicopter didn't respond, it instead continued on its path. Frustrated, he walked over to a desk and picked up a walkie-talkie, and hold it up to his mouth. "Raptors one and two, snap to heading two-five-zero to intercept." He ordered into the walkie-talkie. "Bogie is in the weeds, ten miles out, not squawking."
Immediately, two Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptors fly off the runway and soar through the air towards the Sikorsky.
Col. Sharp: "Unidentified aircraft, we will escort you to US SOCCENT Airbase." He continued. "If you do not comply, we will use deadly force."
Then the Raptors caught sight of the chopper, with one of the pilots spotted the letters in large, black bold headings on the tail - USAF 4500X.
When they sent back the identification of the helicopter, Harrison looked for the files of 4500X. And what he found shocked him. He walked up to the Colonel with the report.
Harrison: "Sir, says here 4500X was shot down three months ago." He stated, handing Sharp the paper report. "Afghanistan."
Col. Sharp: "That's got to be a mistake." He replied. "Check again, then recheck." He ordered, handing Harrison back the paper.
Harrison: "I did, sir." He confirmed regretfully. "A friend of mine was on that chopper." He looked down sadly. Sharp shook his head and walked away confused.
Shortly after, the Raptors were ordered to escort the MH-53 helicopter to the SOCCENT Air Base as they fly ahead of it, and the helicopter started to follow them as it accelerated.
Col. Sharp: "Radar, where's the inbound?" He inquired, now entering the air traffic control tower.
Radar Technician: "Bogie's five miles out, sir." He answered.
Colonel Sharp grabbed a pair of binoculars and looked through them to see the Sikorsky coming into view, which was illuminated by the setting sun over the horizon as it was getting closer to the airbase.

Meanwhile, Lennox walked into the tent, pushing the curtain out of his way, where a video call with his wife was being set up.
Lennox: "My wife on?" He asked a leaving soldier.
Soldier: "Yes, Captain." He answered.
Lennox headed to a computer to adjust the camera to make sure that it sees him clearly, and on the screen was a woman with curly blonde hair holding a baby girl in a light pink outfit. It was his wife Sarah and his daughter Annabelle.
Lennox: "Ahahaha! My ladies!" He exclaimed happily to them with a wide smile on his face. "Oh my goodness, look at her. She's getting so big! Look at those cheeks, I just want to chew on them." He smiled, cooing. "Baby, we made a good-looking kid. I know a lot of people say that all the time, but, wow, we made one good-looking kid. Great work." He praised.
Sarah[Video Phone]: "She has your laugh." She replied, bouncing the baby up and down to amuse it.
Lennox: "She laughed?" He asked, looking at her surprised.
Sarah[Video Phone]: "Her first one, yeah." She answered.
Lennox: "You la- you sure she didn't just fart?" He wondered.
Sarah[Video Phone]: "No, she's a lady." She replied, before Annabelle started to whine. "She doesn't know you yet, but she will." She reassured him.

Meanwhile, the 4500X has finally arrived at the base. Colonel Sharp was looking at the chopper's tail with his binoculars.
Col. Sharp: "4500X. Something is not right." He said to himself as the Sikorsky starting to decent.
Various soldiers talk over to each other as they get themselves ready for anything as the Sikorsky touches down gracefully. A few AM General Humvees drove up to the helicopter, armed with FM M240G Machine Guns, aiming at it as they began to surround it.
PA System: "Bogie's on deck." He announced.
Inside the radar control room, there were some technical difficulties.
Monroe: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." He suddenly took his hands off the keyboard in surprise. "Radars jammed." The map on the screen of his computer started to go blurry. "It's coming from the chopper." He stated, picking up the phone, preparing to send an alarm message. Then the lights in the building started to flicker.
|—————————|—————————|
Back at the tent that Lennox was in, the same thing was happening to his computer as well. The video phone between him and his wife and daughter was breaking up.
Sarah[Video Phone]: "Will?" She asked concerned, the screen and audio slightly malfunctioning.
Lennox: "Sarah." He tries to fix the signal. "Hey. Sarah, if you can hear me, I love you and I'll be home soon." The video call ended and he shook his lowered head and took a deep sigh out of frustration. "Damn." He muttered, before he goes outside to see what the confusion is.
Outside, a whole squad of soldiers begin to surround the Sikorsky, aiming their weapons at it. The pilot of the Pave-Low, a man with a small mustache, wearing a helmet to hid his identity, looks around at the soldiers, without a hint of nervousness on his face.
Col. Sharp: "MH-53 pilot, power down now." He commanded into the microphone, staring down at the grounded and surrounded Sikorsky.
The pilot complied and powered down. The soldiers focus shifted to the powering down propellers, and they didn't see the pilot slightly flickering on and off, showing several mechanisms on his left cheek. As if... he may not even be there at all.
Col. Sharp: "Have your crew step out or we will kill you." He ordered, giving his final warning.
As the soldiers watched, the helicopter's main rotor is still slowing down. Then suddenly, the main rotor of the Sikorsky abruptly snapped to a stop. And then, something unbelievably bizarre happened. The main rotor slightly rose up and the six blades folding against each other in threes before sliding back to the tail rotor with the top points pointing towards the back, which is followed by a low humming noise, much to the confusion to the soldiers as they watched.
Soldier: "Hold your fire!" He commanded as more parts of the Sikorsky shift. "Stand by to engage."
The MH-53 helicopter began to show panels, before breaking away pieces of itself and tucked in parts while other gears and joints. The soldiers started open firing at it, but it had no affect. The entire back section split into four pieces, two moving underneath the cockpit and hoisting it upwards, transforming into what look like legs. The other two pieces attached to the back of the raised cockpit moved to the sides and created arm-like structures and the rotor turret and tailgate flew back and behind the changing helicopter, the rotors appearing again but slanted backwards. Finally, a strangely shaped object appeared out of the top of the helicopter, a pair of red eyes glowing brightly.
Towering over the base, where the Sikorsky helicopter once stood, was now a giant 33-foot high robot, with an insect-like face with red eyes burning with hate and anger. Its body was bulky and armored all over with the main rotor engine added like a backpack, the chest is formed from the nose of the helicopter with the sponsons rested on it's shoulders along with the turboshafts, and a strange symbol below the window on the nose, resembling its own head.
Col. Sharp: "My god..." He breathed quietly in shock and horror, witnessing the inevitable battle taking place.
Various soldiers continue firing at the giant robotic creature, but their bullets still have no affect on it.
The robot rose its right arm, deployed a machine gun from its forearm and started shooting at the soldiers, killing them in the process and damaging the vehicles that were on the scene. Others duck for cover behind armored vehicles as they get riddled with bullet holes.
Then the robot deployed a cannon on its left arm and aimed at the ground. It unleashed a huge, energetic sonic wave of some kind, blowing away the vehicles, and shattered the glass of the control tower while shorting out the power lines.
Lennox comes outside and looked around at the destruction, and find various soldiers running in place and knew immediately that this is no ordinary attack. He placed his hand on Mahfouz's shoulder, who looked horrified at the battle taking place. Then Lennox sees Epps in the distance, running and flinging his arms like a madman.
Epps: "THEY BOMBED THE ANTENNA FARM!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!"
The robotic creature was rampaging the camp. It was sending waves of energy and shooting ammo at the buildings and vehicles throughout the area, causing explosions and death wherever it went. Some of the soldiers were scattered, trying to escape the wrath of the mysterious and terrifying figure, while others were unfortunately got caught in the line of fire.
Lennox was running with a small group of soldiers, barley avoiding the energy wave attacks caused by the creature.
As the robotic giant continued to fire everywhere, it made its way to the radar operations building. It tore off the roof and the robot placed its right hand on the sever in the middle of the building and connects to it, the various wires sparked onto its hand. It was downloading the information it was after.
Col. Sharp: "Go! Move! MOVE!" He shouted, running through the room.
Then Sharp looked up at the creature in front of him, jaw-dropped. It was nothing he had ever seen before. He shifted his attention to a computer, and saw several files were appearing on the screen. Then he immediately realized what was going on.
Col. Sharp: "ITS GOING AFTER THE FILES!" He yelled. "CUT THE HARDLINES!"
Harrison: "I NEED A KEY! IT'S LOCKED!" He cried, struggling to pull the lever that would open.
With no keys nearby, Sharp quickly spots a fire axe, grabs it off the wall, and ran to the hardlines, shoving Harrison aside. He swung the axe at the hardlines, damaging it to ensure what whatever the robot was after is safe. Just as the hardlines were cut, the initials S-7 and a diamond shaped symbol appeared on the screen.
Meanwhile, in between the rows of tanks, Lennox ran with Epps, Fig, Mahfouz, and some other soldiers, trying to dodge the creature. Lennox picks up Mahfouz and carries him on his shoulder, allowing for faster movement. Explosions were everywhere, sometimes in the strangest of places. One of the creature's blast made some of the armored tanks flipped into the air and landed on the parked tanks on the ground. Some of the escaping soldiers were even crushed by the falling tanks. Others got squashed underfoot by the creature.
Lennox and his team ducked behind of the untouched tanks, Epps was right behind them. Then suddenly, the creature's huge foot stomped right in front of him. He fell to his back, and rolled out of the way of its other foot, yelling loudly in the process. Epps propped himself up quickly as he staggered away from the hulking creature. He yelped again to see at what he is looking at. He pointed his imager to observe and record the massive being. The robot looked down at Epps, and scanned him. Then, a cannon was deployed from its chestplate and aimed at him.
Epps: "What the-?!" He exclaimed, scrambling to his feet and ran for his life from the hulking creature towards where the others were hidden.
Luckily, Fig used his Ramo RT-37 grenade launcher to fire a clean shot at the cannon of its chestplate, creating a small explosion. It leaned back as it got shot, signifying that it was slightly damaged. But the creature managed to stabilize its footing as it fires a flare at the tanks near them.
Lennox: "Epps! Let's go!" He exclaimed, grabbing onto Epps' shirt and they took off to get out of the base.
The robotic giant, seeing them run, turned in the opposite direction and the rotor blades separated to reveal another mechanical being, but smaller. And then, the robotic creature... spoke.
Sikorsky Robot: "Hunt and destroy." It talked in a deep, sinister, and maniacal tone.
The smaller mechanical being lunged out from its back. It resembled a scorpion. It screeched as it dove into the sandy ground and digging under to follow them.
Soon, the creature reached the airways and was still creating chaos, sending massive energy waves, destroying the Boeing C-17's one by one, as well as the remaining soldiers that were trying to escape. It turned to the last C-17 standing where the last group of soldiers are at. It fired a final burst of energy, reaching the escaping soldiers. The last thing that was heard were the final screams of the soldiers being engulfed in the murderous blinding light, echoed in the night.
Hours later, the entire base was completely destroyed. Flames were everywhere in the area that used to be a military base. Not a single human body was found among the destruction as they were obliterated from existence. The Sikorsky Robot was standing in the middle of the runway as it stared at the destroyed base, admiring the handiwork.
???[on Comm]: "Blackout - report." Called an extremely deep, dark and sinister voice suddenly.
Blackout: "The humans military base has been destroyed." He reported. "However, there were a few humans that had managed to escape. I have send Scorponok to hunt them down and destroy them." He added.
???[on Comm]: "Acknowledged" He said. "And the data?"
Blackout: "This is all I collected before the humans severed the connection." He answered. "I'm transferring now." He send the data to his superior.
???[on Comm]: "Blackout, there is no concrete evidence of the data you retrieved." He stated. "Barricade has despatched Frenzy to infiltrate a human aircraft called Air Force One to obtain more data regarding the Cube. For now, you must remain hidden until we have the location of the AllSpark." He instructed.
Blackout: "Understood, Starscream. Soon the AllSpark will be as good as ours." And with that, he jumped in the air, transformed in to his vehicle mode, and flew away from the ruined military base.
