A/N: The fact I wrote this last in 2018 is sad. I left this for two years. That's...yikes. Anyways, if you were patient enough to wait this long, enjoy!
Spike wandered the halls of the Ark calmly as he licked at his melting ice cream cone in his hand. He noticed a few Autobots run by him in a rush almost causing him to fall over. He thought nothing at first until he saw the Aerialbots run by in a group. Blinking, he headed to the command center, curious to what was going on.
Optimus Prime stood at Teletrann One as Prowl and Ratchet stood by his side. The screen was a blank blue screen with few neon green symbols. Optimus rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he stared at the screen.
"It appears his signal may be blocked or..." He dipped his helm sadly, not even wanting to think about the thought. Ratchet shook his helm in disbelief, not giving up on it just yet.
"Signals go out all the time when we travel into caves and such. It would explain why we cannot communicate with him." Ratchet told him seriously as Prowl nodded along with it though Air Raid was supposed to be patrolling hours before he went missing. Maybe he was caught by Decepticons?
"Whatcha guys talking about?" Spike spoke up from behind them as he approached the large tall Autobots. The three turned around and Prowl and Ratchet suddenly looked at Optimus as they did not want to be the ones to tell him. Optimus sighed heavily and knelt down to the humans height.
"Air Raid has gone missing yesterday. He did not report for his training with the other Aerialbots. We're concerned of his whereabouts and have been searching ever since." Optimus informed him simply as his expression looked distraught. He didn't take a missing Autobot lightly. Spike frowned deeply at that, shocked.
"That's terrible! Is there anything I can do to help?" Spike questioned rapidly, worried for the flying mech. That mech may be a sore to listen to sometimes but that didn't matter. His life could be in danger.
"Unfortunately there is nothing. The Aerialbots are going on a search now to see if they can spot him." Optimus sighed as today would mark the seventh time they searched. Prowl stepped forward,
"Have you any idea where he might have went or was last?"
"Uh..." Spike thought for a moment, trying to recall when he last saw him. He then blinked. "I think I saw him before he had that training. We were talking and..." he trailed off as he tensed. Ratchet noticed and uncrossed his arms.
"What is it, Spike?"
"I...don't think he would have ever but...he is cocky and has been reckless before." Spike shook his head as the Autobots glanced at each other in concern. "I was talking to him about the Bermuda Triangle, a dangerous spot for planes and ships. I told him about how none ever show up after going. He asked about if Aerialbots should try," He then paled. "I told him it was a bad idea! Oh no, I think he went guys!" Spike panicked, looking at their blue optics frantically.
Optimus stood up and nodded. "I trust you Spike. Anywhere is better than nowhere. Could you point us to where this...Bermuda Triangle is?" He asked calmly as the young man nodded.
...
"Ugh... this is going to give me one ginormous processor ache. So your...Optimus Prime?" Air Raid asked slowly, pointing at the slim blue mech. He gave him a nod of confirmation. Air Raid frowned then looked at the others. "And your Bee, Ratchet, and Prowl?" He asked slowly. Prowl nodded to confirm as well as Bumblebee grinned.
"Yup!"
"Right...then...who are you again? Hound?"
"What? Me? No, it's Bulkhead." The green mech reminded kindly with a small smile. Air Raid nodded and began standing.
"Okay...right. Well I need to find my way back home. None of you have some energon do you?" Air Raid asked as he checked his reserves. "I'm pretty low."
"No. We gave you what we had to even get you to wake up." Ratchet replied with a scowl as he stood as well. "By the way, you're welcome." he scoffed. Optimus gave him a look then glanced back at Air Raid.
"If you follow us back to our base of sorts we can get you some fuel. We have plenty of oil." Optimus offered the Aerialbot which he stuck up his nose at.
"You guys drink what you bathe in?" He gagged.
"And you bathe in what you drink?" Bumblebee sneered.
"Enough," Optimus intervened with a harsh tone. "If you do not want our oil then do you have enough to make it back to your home?" He asked firmly.
Air Raid huffed and thought for a moment. He truly wasn't sure. "Probably not. Those winds were pretty nasty." He shook his helm. He didn't want to crash land in Florida or any other state when trying to make it back to base. Flying from the east coast to the west coast without good enough fuel would be a bad idea. It made him wonder why he didn't bring any spare energon in the first place.
"Then let me help!" A voice quiet voice spoke up.
"Oh another one? Primus, this isn't as weird as it gets?"
"You are in another world, what do you think?" Prowl muttered with a roll of his optics. Not that anyone saw it behind his visor.
A young girl with ponytails ran up to them holding a key on a necklace up at them. "Use this! It will fix you right up!" She suggested with a grin, panting a bit as if she had been running to catch up to them.
"Sari! What are you even doing here? You were supposed to be with your dad this weekend." Optimus frowned, looking at the common troublemaker. Bumblebee threw up his servos in defense.
"What, we don't invite our friends anymore? That hurts Prime." Bumblebee scoffed and turned his chin as he crossed his arms. Optimus glared in response as Sari shook her head.
"He had a meeting about a new project he was working on. I would have been home alone." Sari frowned as Air Raid stared at her confused.
"What's a key supposed to do?" he asked as if it should be the obvious question.
"Just watch. Sit down," Sari told him and ran over to his side. Air Raid looked skeptical at first before slowly sitting down. He tensed as she climbed up his side to reach his chassis. He would freaked out if he hadn't seen Spike and Carly climb up to an Autobots shoulder before.
"What...What are you doing?" Air Raid's vent hitched as she placed the key near his chassis. Sari frowned and her eyebrows furrowed as nothing happened.
"I..." She looked back at Optimus and Ratchet for help, worried.
"He is from a different world, Sari. It might not work on him like it works on us." Optimus explained as she shook her head in denial.
"But its the Allspark! Shouldn't it recognize his spark?" The young girl inquired. Ratchet shook his helm.
"This Allspark didn't make that spark." Ratchet frowned as Bumblebee came over and scooped up his human friend into his servos.
"Its okay Sari, you tried." He reassured as Air Raid still seemed confused. The Allspark was that key? Yeah, right.
"O.K., I'll just take my chances then. I don't want to waste anymore time than I already have." Air Raid frowned and began standing again. Ratchet didn't look happy at that.
"I don't like you leaving on such low energon. Perhaps we can provide him some?" The old medic looked at Optimus for approval. Optimus was confused at first then blinked.
"A transfusion? Would it be safe, Ratchet?" Optimus worried as even Air Raid didn't seem to like the idea.
"Yeah, if the Allspark rejected me then what if my energon will too?" The Aerialbot asked him, worried. Ratchet looked thoughtful for a moment.
"Well do you want to die in that ocean while you fly around like a maniac?" He snorted as Air Raid hesitated. Ratchet had a point.
"I...suppose we can try it." Air Raid nodded slowly. He wasn't a coward. Ratchet nodded and opened his subspace and started taking out the required equipment. Optimus watched them for a moment before nodding.
"I'll give mine."
...
The waves crashed against the beaches sand as rain poured down onto their frames. The Aerialbots along with Optimus Prime, Ratchet, and Prowl stood next to a dock. They were trying to see in the heavy rain but it was difficult with the sand hitting their optics.
"There's no way we can fly out there!" Fireflight cried, shaking his helm. "The clouds are covered with lightning strikes!"
"Then we will have to wait the storm out." Silverbolt frowned. He himself didn't want to fly above the clouds and if the youngest most reckless and incautious Aerialbot didn't want to fly in that then it wasn't a good idea.
Optimus hummed as he thought, worried about Air Raid. He was worried they were running out of time. Prowl glanced at him, his doorwings raising as a thought struck him.
"Should we call Seaspray? He could travel out to the Triangle. He is the best swimmer we have." Prowl proposed. "Jetfire could bring him."
"No. I would not like to risk Seaspray alone to find him. Our best choice is here. We will wait out the storm." Optimus denied firmly, his tone making it clear there was no other dicussions about it. Prowl nodded and went silent. He hoped they weren't wasting time.
...
"So tell me, how are you a seeker if your an Autobot?" Bumblebee asked as Ratchet watched over the transfusion. They were almost done and Optimus was looking fairly tired. Air Raid seemed to need to take in much more energon than they thought. Optimus refused to endanger a fellow Autobots flight though so he gave what would be necessary.
Air Raid shrugged at the question, staring at the energon going into his arm.
"I was born at Vector Sigma on Cybertron. Alpha Trion woke me and my brothers from simple Earth jets and planes." Air Raid informed him calmly.
Ratchet and Prowl blinked in surprise as Bulkhead seemed puzzled.
"I thought only the Allspark could do that sort of thing."
"I don't understand the reasons behind all that but I'm here. I'm alive."
Prowl looked at Optimus who just kept his optics shut. The experiments ...they could stop.
"Alright," Ratchet interrupted as he took out the tubing from his arm and welded it quickly so he wouldn't bleed. "This is all I can give you without killing our Prime." he grunted as Air Raid sat up, his optics brighter than before.
"Thank you, this is enough." He grinned in gratitude. Ratchet nodded as he took care of Optimus then. Bulkhead went over to help their leader stand.
"I am glad to help. Have a safe travel my friend," Optimus smiled weakly as he stood, holding onto Bulkhead a bit. Air Raid nodded and stood, stretching. His wings spread out as he grunted, feeling much better than before.
"You too, thanks again!" Air Raid said happily then ran and jumped, transforming in the air and taking off back to where he had landed. Sari waved goodbye as the others began heading back to their boat.
...
"Its been two hours, Optimus. The storm hasn't lightened up." Prowl mumbled to him. It was well aware among all of them. None wanted to give up though. Silverbolt was groaning as he paced under the dock.
"Oh primus, I hate that big idiot! He is getting the biggest lecture!" He grumbled as the others just sat in the sand with no hope in their gazes. Slingshot rubbed Firelights back to comfort him as he and Air Raid were fairly close.
"That's if we ever find him. I mean, you heard Spike, no one comes back." Skydive frowned deeply, his face in his servos.
Optimus was silent, staring at the ocean.
"Well, what do we do? Go back?" Ratchet questioned as Optimus just continued staring ahead. He was thinking.
Then, a heavy noise made the air thunder constantly. Silverbolt stopped pacing and looked over to the source. Faintly, a red and black jet was heading their way. He was struggling in the winds and was dodging lightning best he could as he popped in and out of the clouds.
"Air Raid!" Silverbolt grinned and ran up to the ocean. Optimus felt himself sigh in relief.
"Oh Primus, he's okay!"
"Let's hope we remains that way with this storm." Fireflight said nervously as his wings fluttered.
"Spoke too soon." Ratchet grunted as the jet was suddenly hit by a strike of lightning and the jet headed right into the ocean by their pedes, the sand and water kicking right up into their face and armor.
As everyone desperately cleared the water and sand out of their optics, Air Raid transformed with a groan as he rolled onto his back.
"Oh primus... please tell me I'm back."
Hurriedly, Ratchet and the others ran to his side as the medic checked over him.
"Yeah, bro. You're back." Silverbolt vented in relief as Air Raid weakly smiled in return.
