Plot: Air Raid gets in a little over his head...
Air Raid was beginning to regret his decision.
A very uncommon thing for Air Raid to do by the way as he saw the fun in everything. But this particular circumstance was different.
Much different.
Not only was he still suffering disorientation (which was something you didn't want to have when your flying 40,000 feet above sea level...he learned that quick...) but he was stranded on an island getting soaked by the monstrous storm pounding on his frame, while his reserves lowered faster by the minute.
He felt very close to the human in Cast Away. All he needed now was a Wilson. Perhaps the offlined Decepticon he offlined a while ago that was not far from him would work. Although the only difference that set the human and him apart would be that the human didn't want to test his luck and fly through the Burma Triangle only to crash land on a nearby island after getting chased by a Decepticon.
Air Raid was a very proud mech. He had a solid ego and sometimes beat Slingshot in an argument but now? Air Raid felt like crying.
What had he been thinking?
Who gave him such a dumb idea?
Oh.
Right.
The human, Spike.
Air Raid sighed at the memory.
"What are you watching?" Air Raid asked crouching behind Spike to peer over his shoulder. The screen of Teletrann relayed a video of what seemed to be a big storm.
"Documentary of the Bermuda Triangle. It's really intresting, want to watch?" Spike offered, turning his head upward at the flying Autobot. Air Raid blinked.
"Seems kind of boring to watch. What's so special about a three sided shape?" He asked. Spike chuckled at his confusion.
"It's a place," he began by pausing the video. Spike turned around so he could give the bot his full attention. "It's bounded by Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico in the Atlantic Ocean. The three places are the three points of the triangle, that's where the name comes from. Ships and planes always disappear in there. There's many stories that US Navy pilots got disoriented when flying over the Triangle and the planes disappeared. Lots of them say that the instruments start getting messed up. Ships start sinking and planes start falling." Spike explained.
"That...seriously happens?" Air Raid asked cautiously. His pedes shifted at just the thought of planes and ships disappearing. But where could they have gone?
Spike shrugged. "There's always the science side that it's just a part of the Earth where the magnetic field is messing with the instruments or," Spike began to smile. "It's just magic. No one truly knows."
Air Raid blinked. "Well, that's great and all but what if we Aerialbots gave it a try? I mean your planes don't have a chance but we ARE the plane. Besides, an Autobot never went."
"I don't think that's a good idea..." Spike frowned. "It can be very dangerous in there."
"Nothing can be too dangerous for me," Air Raid smirked.
Air Raid felt himself eating his words.
He had taken it upon himself as a challenge. He felt the need to prove others wrong, that he could be the first Autobot to do it!
Which he did so technically he shouldn't be sulking...
But the fact that he crashed landed on an island because he thought he was flying upwards when he was actually flying the opposite direction was very embrassing.
Air Raid really wished he listened more about the potential dangers pilots faced.
The large mech sighed and looked over at the offlined Decepticon, confused how why he was even near the Bermuda Triangle as well. Decepticons didn't know about it's history, did they?
Air Raid shrugged it off, assuming he was just flying over cause Megatron told him or something.
...
After a while Air Raid had had enough and started walking along the beach. Although he knew if you were lost, staying put would be the most recommended action, but he was stranded on an island where almost no one wants to fly near anyway so he figured why the pit not.
It was still raining but not as harsh as earlier. His pedes were soaked with wet sand and sea shells but by this point, the Autobot didn't really seem to care.
As time passed by he began to notice the sun was coming out and a boat not far up ahead. Relief and amazement rushed through him and he began sprinting toward the boat that was actually floating and not wrecked on the island.
"Hey!" Air Raid shouted as he ran on the sand that was no longer beginning to feel as soggy as before. His systems were feeling very critical but he just had to make it to the boat. So he pushed on.
In the distance, he could've swore he saw a few bots hop off the boat. Air Raid didn't stop the tears then, glad his friends were here.
They didn't forget about me! They found me! They actually found me!
A blue and red bot looked over. "Optimus!" Air Raid shouted, ignoring the flashing signs of low energon in his vison. As he got closer he could finally make out the bots. Air Raid grew confused at their body frames. "You're not Optimus." He frowned at the bot he approached before his vison blacked out and he fell forward with a grunt.
...
It was starting to become dusk at the Ark, Slingshot still looking around with a worried look. He flipped crates over and opened lids as he searched. He opened doors as he walked down the hall, knocking first of course.
Many bots gave him an odd look as he search quietly but finally, Slingshot gave a defeated sigh and paused in the hallway.
"You seem troubled." A voice spoke behind him. Slingshot jumped and turned around, his expression fading to his previous one. Optimus frowned as he approached his friend. "Have you lost something?"
"More like someone." Slingshot muttered as he rubbed his helm in confusion and concern. Optimus blinked.
"Has an Autobot gone missing?" Slingshot nodded his helm.
"Air Raid. We had training today on formations but he wasn't there. We waited for a while but he never showed up." Slingshot frowned as he looked to his leader. Optimus rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"When did this happen?"
"A couple of hours ago." Slingshot sighed. "I don't get it, Prime. He was here this morning, I saw him on the way to the rec room."
Silence filled the air as Optimus mulled the situation over. It wasn't common for Autobots to go missing but when they did, he always had a deep concern in his spark. They either showed up captured...or offlined.
Optimus's faceplates hardened in determination. "The whole base will know and we begin searching. Take your team and begin looking from the skies, I'll have Hound lead us from down here."
Slingshot nodded. "Right, we're on it!" He said, his voice still full of concern.
"Don't worry, Slingshot. We will find him." Optimus called to him. "I swear it upon my spark!"
...
A bright light shined in his optics as Air Raid slowly woke. He blinked at the light and groaned as he sat up.
"Looks like he's coming to." A voice spoke. Air Raid began to feel defensive, not recognizing the voices that started murmuring around him. His frame tensed, looking at the blurry figures around him that slowly began to clear.
"Who are you!?" Air Raid shouted, reaching for his blaster but found it was gone. Surprised, he scooted away from the figures to get distance. Finally he saw a blue bot, a small yellow bot, a green large bot, and a black and gold bot. His optics looked between them.
"Calm down, we aren't going to hurt you. See?" The black and gold spoke first, his servo going to his chest and pointing. Air Raid cautiously looked to his chest, seeing the Autobot symbol on him. Air Raid relaxed.
"I'm glad I ran into more Autobots," Air Raid breathed. "I've never seen you lot before, you look strange..." Air Raid said as he got to his pedes. The others stood straight from their previous kneeling.
"Speak for yourself." The yellow bot snorted. "You look all boxy and stuff."
"Bumblebee!" The tall blue bot mumbled in warning. The yellow bot held up his hands in surrender.
"What!? He does!"
"Wait, wait, did you just say...Bumblebee?" Air Raid began with widening optics.
"Yeah, I'm the one and only," Bumblebee grinned widely. "Why? Am I famous or something?" He asked puffing his chestplates slightly.
"N-no...that's odd. You just don't look like Bumblebee." Air Raid rubbed his optics, swearing he wasn't seeing the mech in front of him.
"What do you mean?" The blue bot asked and Air Raid frowned.
"The Bumblebee I know is...not that skinny. And his face...the body frame..." Air Raid grumbled, holding his helm.
"Don't glitch on us mech, were just as confused as you are." A white and red bot off to the side snapped.
"We should probably introduce ourselves." The blue bot said firmly, looking to them in silent warning before looking back at Air Raid. "My name is Optimus Prime. This is Prowl, Bulkhead, Ratchet, and Bumblebee." Optimus spoke kindly. Air Raids optics widened. His vision blurred a bit and he fell back into the sand with a thud.
"Oh great, you made him glitch, Prime." Ratchet grunted, crossing his arms. Optimus sighed deeply and facepalmed.
A/N: Heyyy guys! So, I've been wanting to write more but I really wanted to get this part published so I decided on doing this in parts. Not sure how many parts quite yet because I'm really interested in this.
Anyways!
I hope I did an okay job at the Animated and G1 characters. I haven't watched much of any Transformers in a long while because I've been pretty busy lately. But I haven't really written any of the Airealbots and the games I've played on Transformer have me more insight to them so I figured I would give it a shot.
I hope you enjoyed! :)
