Plot: Christmas at the Ark

December 20th. 21:34.

It was a snowy day for the Autobots. Considering the Decepticons had made no activity in a month, the Autobots could celebrate this year's Christmas without too much worry. The Witwicky family had shown them the ropes and one Autobot, in particular, wanted the whole base to participate.

And that particular Autobot was Bumblebee.

He had been so thrilled to hear about Christmas and the holidays of delight that he went to Optimus Prime about the tradition. Optimus immediately agreed.

So, this year the Autobots were decorating and doing their best to create Christmas cheer. Unfortunately, Spike couldn't have Christmas with the Autobots since he was going out of state with his father, but Carly said she would gladly supervise.

She had been extra encouraging in present wrapping and Christmas decorating. Wheeljack was the most excited about light decorations (I mean why wouldn't he?) and worked on decorating the whole Ark. Inside and out.

Next was the music. Jazz was in charge of the holiday season swing within the Ark. He and Blaster had brought the most cassette tapes they could find on Christmas joy. Once they did, they had the duty of plugging it into the Arks overhead comm for Christmas day.

Then there was the present wrapping. Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Bluestreak, and Hound had the job of picking out the wrapping paper. It had to be the shiniest ones they could find in the stores. Beachcomber, Tracks, and Smokescreen had to get enough ribbons, bows, tape, and scissors to wrap the presents with.

And then was the most important job of all. Getting the perfect tree. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Prowl had to go find the biggest, sturdiest tree for the Ark. After that, they had to strap it down on a flat surface and load it into Optimus Primes trailer.

Then finally the tree would be decorated and they could finally place the presents underneath the tree and celebrate.

Bumblebee could barely withhold his excitement. Everyone was so willing to pitch in. The bots that had to drive into town had just left and Wheeljack was already working on the lights. The other bots that stayed were helping think of good presents for one another. The femmes and Mirage had the job of going out and collecting any present and hiding them away once they arrive back at the Ark.

Carly rode on Bumblebees shoulder as they strode through the Arks halls. Everything seemed to be in perfect order.

"Wow, this place looks awesome Bumblebee! There are decorations in each room and everyone is getting along to make this happen! And It's only December 20th!" Carly exclaimed with pure excitement and praise. It was true. For the past week they have been decorating the Ark and when they weren't decorating, the bot was decorated. For many patrol missions, various bots would wear Santa hats or bows that would stay on their hood when they transformed.

Bumblebee smiled in pride. "Thank you, Carly, but you know none of this could have happened without your help." He acknowledged kindly.

Carly smiled happily. "Nah, I just told you about Christmas." She said patting the shoulder she sat on. "You did all the work."

Bumblebee chuckled softly and shook his helm. As they entered the main control room, he giggled seeing Wheeljack wrapped up in the lights. He walked over gleefully and began to help his friend.

"Oh, thanks Bumblebee." Wheeljack chuckled in embarrassment. "I'm not sure how this happened to be honest with you." He said sheepishly. Bumblebee smiled as he untangled the lights from him.

"No problem, Jackie." He said gently, knowing the inventor got into many issues without him knowing. It usually was him not paying attention. "Do you know when Optimus will be here?" He asked gently.

"Hm, can't say I do," Wheeljack admitted as he began stepping back on his ladder. Bumblebee helped feed the lights to his friend as he put them up by Teletraan 1.

"How long have they been gone?" Bumblebee asked worriedly.

"Don't worry, Bee. I mean it has to take a long time to find a tree to be big enough for the Ark." Carly spoke up jokingly, clinging to the blue scarf wrapped around the yellow scout's neck.

"Carly's right." Wheeljack agreed. "Don't worry, Bumblebee. They should be back this afternoon." He gave a reassuring smile. Bumblebee nodded, knowing they were right.

Later that day, the Ark was done with decorations. Lights, candy canes, snowflakes, candles, and Santas, reindeers had been thrown up all over the Ark and its insides. Ironhide chuckled as they drove up to the Ark.

"I think the kid went a bit overboard." The red mech commented in amusement. Ratchet scoffed who drove next to him.

"A bit is an understatement." Ratchet grunted.

"I wonder if it is so much holiday joy, that the Decepticons will stay away," Prowl spoke sarcastically, the number of lights on the Ark giving him a helmache already. Optimus said nothing, driving into the Ark and slowing down. Many bots got his attention at his arrival and had looked to see the tree in (what some might not admit) excitement. The three bots that accompanied Optimus, transformed and began making their way to Optimus's trailer.

Bumblebees rushed pedes became louder as he pushed through the bots, coming to watch in excitement.

Ironhide and Prowl unhooked the trailer from the Prime and Ratchet began to open the doors and detach the bungee cords strapping down the tree on the inside.

Suspense and silence filled the room as Optimus transformed and went to the back of his trailer. Ratchet and Prowl moved out of the way as Optimus and Ironhide gripped the end of the tree and pulled.

Pine needles slid and resisted to budge as the two mechs pulled it out of the leaders' trailer. They pulled, backed up, pulled, back up, and repeat.

It seemed to last for minutes.

Bots optics widened as the tree seemed to never end. Finally, it left the trailer.

The tree was the exact size of Optimus's trailer. If it hadn't wrapped in rope, the tree would have never been able to leave the trailer.

Carly's jaw dropped. "Where did you find that!?" She exclaimed in shock. Optimus didn't reply as he began to pick the tree up along with Ironhide and a few other bots that joined to help.

Ratchet smirked a bit. "You didn't think we would get a human-sized tree, would you?'' He asked shutting Optimus's trailer doors before brushing the melting snow off his frame. Carly's mouth closed, unable to answer.

Wheeljack helped placed the tree into the stand and began screwing the bolts into the tree to hold it in place. Optimus watched silently, keeping the tree balanced once it was upright.

"Alright! You can let it go now." The scientist spoke cheerfully. Optimus slowly let go and the tree stood still. Wheeljack watched it carefully then frowned as it began to lean to the side. Optimus quickly grabbed it before it fell and Wheeljack looked around for something to keep it steady.

"Ratchet, can I have those bungee cords?" Wheeljack called and Ratchet nodded, walking over with the pile of bungee cords in his arms.

As Wheeljack began to get it steady, Optimus turned his attention to the bots around the tree. Everyone looked at ease, except for the occasional grumpy bot that always wore a scowl.

Optimus had to admit that this holiday brought them much closer as a unit. Although they didn't celebrate the religious reasons behind Christmas, they still find joy in it in their own way.

Now decorating the tree, everyone rushed in to help put lights on and their own ornament. Bumblebee laughed, staying behind as he watched. He didn't think so many bots were excited over the holiday. He looked up at Optimus as the Prime made his way to him.

"You may a good choice, Bumblebee," Optimus spoke with pride, setting a servo onto his shoulder. Bumblebee beamed with happiness, his optics brightening.

"Thanks, Optimus. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the Christmas spirit." The yellow scout spoke cheerfully. Optimus smiled behind his mask and removed his servo as he began to take his leave.

...

December 21st. 12:59 am.

The next day was a special day. Everyone could relax as the decorations were finished and they had to wait until Christmas came. The large Christmas tree swayed slightly above several decorated presents, not so neatly wrapped. The lights were almost blinding with a neon Autobot insignia sign on top of the tree made by Perceptor.

Although this was not why it was so special.

Today, everyone got word that Rodimus's ship would be arriving sometime that day. It was unclear if Bumblebee, Optimus, or Jazz had sent the message to the bots in space but they were coming.

Bumblebee was thrilled. The long excited conversations he had with Carly, the twins and Jazz about Rodimus's arrival almost would have made Bluestreak stories about what he heard on the radio be made small talk.

But as to every good, there was always someone who wasn't happy. There were a few people who were unhappy about the news. The twins, Ironhide, Prowl, and Ratchet despised it.

Rodimus isn't a bad guy, none hate him. It was Ultra Magnus that was hated.

The stern militant commander.

Ultra Magnus was the definition of a grinch during Christmas. The twins were going to have fun teasing him with that one.

So, to lighten their concerns, the twins had planned a 'special' event to get out the pranks in their system before the harsh commander would show.

Precisely at 13 hundred hours, Smokescreen, Jazz, and Mirage were leaving the Ark for a patrol. It was a simple drive past snowy landscapes until almost a fort-like structure of snow seemed to be towering over them the further they drove down the road.

Jazz cautiously slowed down and transformed, telling the other two to wait for him.

"You don't think it's Decepticons, do you Jazz?" Smokescreen spoke up with worry in his voice. The Decepticons had little appearance over the past few months and it was worrisome. They knew the Decepticons had to be building something over this much time but they didn't expect a snow fort.

"No, I'm goin' to make sure though. So just stay quiet, Smokey, and stay close to Mirage." The head of Special Ops commanded gently, approaching the fort wearily. It almost seemed silly to watch as the sabetour approached the snow fort that stood almost 12 feet tall.

Hearing movement, the small mech took out his blaster and began kicking the snow to get in. After a few swift kicks, he suddenly felt his pede grabbed from the other side of the wall and he was pulled inside, getting snow all into his armor and mouth. Falling to his knees, he coughed and spit out the snow, shivering for a moment.

"Jazz!" The mech barely heard from the other side he once had been.

As he began to stand, he was shoved down onto his back, almost knocking the wind out of him. Slowly bringing his optics upward, he growled.

"Ah almost slagged ya both! What was dat for!?" Jazz snapped at the laughing twins, "And what's with this sick fort!?" The question got more laughter.

"We're planning an ambush, want to join?" Sideswipe smirked once he finally quit snickering. Sunstreaker was smirking widely, tossing a firmly made snowball in his servo as they waited for a response. Jazz's visor brightened and he shoved Sideswipes pede off him to get up.

"Ya know ah I want to. Was shoving me through a thick snow wall necessary?" Jazz glared lightly, brushing off clumps of snow off his armor.

"It was more fun that way." Sideswipe laughed.

...

December 21st. 15:21.

Bumblebee smiled as he sat with Carly in the rec room, drinking warmed energon as she sipped on Hot Chocolate.

"Everything looks amazing! I don't think I've had such a great Christmas before." Carly spoke as she blew on her warm cocoa in her hands.

"I'm glad you're having a good time. I'm also glad you showed me the tradition. I hope we can take this to Cybertron." Bumblebee spoke gleefully, relaxed as he set down the cube he sipped on. His shoulders slumped slightly, smiling.

"That would be cool. Think everyone would want that?" Carly asked as she looked up at the young mech, lowering her mug. Bumblebee was hesitant. It was a great holiday but they had no Christmas trees, reindeers, or Santas on Cybertron.

"Maybe. It would just take a lot more work." Bumblebee continued to smile but his expression held a frown. "Besides, I think it's just something to celebrate while at Earth. We haven't celebrated any of our holidays since the war and doing something different that doesn't remind us of our happy past might be why we're doing this. But I'm sure when we go back and the war is over, we will start up our own holidays again." Bumblebee shrugged, his smile slowly fading. He stared at his bright cube, frowning now.

Carly frowned worriedly, seeing how it bothered her friend. She placed a hand on his arm. "It's okay, Bumblebee. I know you like this holiday and I'm sure if you really try, you can make it happen on Cybertron too." She smiled reassuringly. Bumblebee was the one bot who loved Earth the most and everyone knew it. They would most likely let him keep a holiday of theirs a tradition.

Bumblebee went to reply but stiffened as Smokescreen ran inside, looking scared out of his mind.

"Guys! We have a problem!" He shouted into the filled rec room. Bots turned their helms to the young mech.

"What's going on, Smokey?" Bluestreak frowned as he stood up worriedly. "Are the Cons here? Are the humans annoyed by the bright lights? Is-?"

"Whoa, Bluestreak, let the mech finish," Ironhide spoke gently to him from where he sat at a table across the room. Bluestreak shut up. Smokescreen waved a servo.

"Follow me! Someone get Ratchet!" Smokescreen shouted before running out. Bumblebees optics widened at the name of the medic. Something must really be wrong if Ratchet was needed. He quickly took Carly into his servo then began ran off down the hall after the racer.

A crowd began forming, many bots going to see what was going on. Smokescreen led them out of the Ark and down the road, running toward a large snow fort, Mirage laying on the ground with energon leaking out of his helm.

Ratchet pushed his way through as did Optimus, worried for his soldiers. Ratchet ran to Mirage and knelt down, scanning.

"Smokescreen, what happened here?" Optimus frowned deeply, looking to him.

"I was going on patrol and we decided to go through the woods and I heard him yell! I came here as fast as I could but I think a Decepticon got him!" Smokescreen spoke hurriedly, worried.

Bots began speaking under their breaths.

Decepticons?

Now?

Optimus's optics narrowed slightly, silent for a moment. "Everyone, back inside. It is-." He was cut off as something smacked his helm from behind. He blinked, looking at his army, something beginning to laugh. The leader turned and looked up, the twins and Jazz at the top of the fort with arms filled with snowballs.

"Ooh! 100 points for hitting, Prime!" Sideswipe laughed, grinning at his twin who smirked. Jazz chuckled nervously as Prowl walked up.

"You think assaulting your commander and having an injured comrade here is humorous!?" Prowl snarled, his doorwings raising into a sharp 'V'.

He received a snowball to the face.

"Yes. Yes, I do." Sideswipe snickered. "Oh, and Mirage will be fine. We didn't hit him that hard." He shrugged lightly.

"You hit him!?" Ratchet snapped with fury in his optics, glaring at the twins. Jazz was glad he was staying silent.

"He was going to tell on us." The red twin pouted then giggled like the devious child he was. "It made a perfect story for you to come out here though." Sideswipe snickered then rose his helm up to the sky. "Attack!" he screamed and began throwing snowballs at them harshly, his twin joining. Jazz laughed and began joining as well.

Optimus quickly covered Mirages frame with his own and began assisting Ratchet to bring the spy inside to be treated as other bots began making snowballs and returning the fire.

Bumblebee giggled at the sight and began running off toward the trees to avoid the fight, holding Carly close.

"Wow, they really got into the spirit!" Carly exclaimed, laughing in amusement. Bumblebee smiled.

"They did, didn't they?" Bumblebee spoke with happiness. He uncovered her so they both could watch the great snowball fight. It was amusing.

Bots were getting mauled with snowballs, getting knocked down. Some even snuck up from behind bots and put snow in their armor.

It was a great snowy day.

"Bumblebee watch out!"

Bumblebees attention went from the snowball fight to behind him to when suddenly a large snowball hit him in the face, knocking both he and Carly into the snow.

...

December 22nd. 10:56.

"Ah-choo!"

"Sorry again. I didn't think you would get sick." Hound spoke sadly as he handed Carly a tissue. Carly snatched it from him and rubbed her raw nose.

"Don't worry about it." Carly sighed. "I should feel better by Christmas," she said gently as she blew her nose into the tissue. Carly sat in the oddly warm medbay, wrapped in a blanket with soup, having got a cold no thanks to Hound who's aim for Sideswipe had missed.

"Is it just me or is it really hot in here?" First Aid asked, sitting next to the berth she sat on.

"It's hot." Hound frowned.

"It's those blasted lights Wheeljack had to put everywhere." Ratchet scowled from where he stood by the cabinets and counters. "We're burning through more power than a small town." he scoffed, shaking his helm.

"A small town!?" Carly's eyes bugged. "How is that possible?"

Ratchet merely shrugged. "Wheeljack is Wheeljack. I'm surprised we haven't blown a fuse yet but then again, the Ark handles this much power just fine. The Ark could handle more if it wanted to but I made it clear to Wheeljack we won't do that." He grumbled. "The primitive human lights probably wouldn't be able to hold it anyway." he shrugged a bit before facing his datapad again.

"Hm," Carly mumbled then looked at Hound. "So Bumblebee is hanging out with Rodimus, right?" Hound nodded. "What do you think he got him for Christmas?" She asked.

Mirage snorted softly from the side, laying a berth still with his helm holding fresh welds. "Who knows. Bumblebee is a mystery with gift giving." he shrugged a bit.

Meanwhile,

"Is there a reason as to why I saw little human lifeforms dressed as elvish creatures as I drove here? They seemed inflated and left standing in the cold on the side of the road, should I call a nearby hospital? Their core temperature could drop quickly if the human weatherman is correct with regards to tonight's blizzard."

Amusement played in Optimus Prime's optics and smile as he walked with Ultra Magnus down the halls of the Ark.

"Do not worry, old friend. They are custom to the Christmas tradition. They are known as 'inflatables'." Optimus told him, looking to his tired brother. Ultra Magnus's expression shifted from confusion to embarrassment.

"Understood." The blue mech murmured though still didn't quite fathom the concept. As they entered the main room, finishing the small tour., they came upon the tree. Ultra Magnus looked at it and his expression grew unreadable.

"Rodimus attempted to explain the purpose of the 'Christmas tree' to me but I do not understand still. It has little benefit and takes up much-needed space...but I see the effect it has the humans and soldiers here." Ultra Magnus admitted quietly. Optimus placed a servo on his shoulder.

"There is much you have yet to understand, commander. You are new to this planet even though you have visited many times. Staying here for years is an experience you must witness yourself," Optimus explained, his blue optics focused on the multi-colored tree. It still stood tall much to many bots surprise. Ultra Magnus made a noise of acknowledgment.

"Who's idea was this? Carly?" He asked, glancing at him. Optimus gently shook his helm.

"Bumblebee's," Optimus spoke with a small smile.

"Bumblebee stole Christmas from the humans?" Ultra Magnus asked with a small snort of amusement, looking at the tree that seemed very thin although it was difficult to see for how tall it was.

"...In a way. Perhaps adopted is a better word." Optimus muttered, removing his servo and began walking away. Ultra Magnus studied the tree with curious optics before following his brother.

...

December 23rd. 9:28.

BOING!

CLANG, CLANG!

BOING!

CLANG, CLANG!

"Will you quit it?" Sunstreaker scowled from his cell, glaring at his brother who bounced a little tennis ball he got from who knows where. The yellow warrior was trying to get his beauty sleep.

Sideswipe rolled his optics and hit it against the floor, against the wall, and back into his servo. "You think Rodimus might talk Prowl, Optimus, Ratchet, and Ultra Magnus into letting us go?" He asked with a bit of childish hope.

"No," Jazz grumbled from his cell, trying to sleep as well. The one good thing about being in the brig was that you could sleep more compared to days you had gaurd shifts. "Rodimus is ah good enough speaker ta get Optimus an' Ultra Mango on 'is side I guess but he definitely couldn' get Ratchet an' Prowl."

A small humming noise of acknowledgement came from Sideswipe before he sighed, subspacing his tennis ball. "I'm bored."

"Sleep." Sunstreaker growled, staring at the wall as he curled up more on his side as if it would block out his irritable brother.

"That's boring too."

"Ugh-Sideswipe! Go to sleep before I get out of this cell and knock you out!" Sunstreaker snapped, growling.

Challenge flashed in the red devils optics. "You couldn't if you tried." He grinned, amused. This was now entertaining.

Jazz groaned and rolled onto his front, covering his face and audials. He knew how this was going to go and it wouldn't be quiet.

Elsewhere...

"I'm sorry you have to go home sick, Carly." Bumblebee spoke sadly as he walked his friend out of the Ark and to her awaiting car.

"Its alright, Bee. I'm glad I could get you guys started for-achoo!" Carly wiped her nose with her sleeve gently. "-Christmas. I needed to go home eventually though. My Moms family flys in later today anyway." Carly smiled up at him. Bumblebee gave a small shrug, gulit in his optics.

"Still feel bad." He mumbled as they approached the car. Carly opened the door and shook her head.

"Don't be. I hope you guys have a good time. You'll have to tell me and Spike all about it afterwards." Carly spoke happily.

"Alright, Carly. Feel better." Bumblebee knelt with a smile. Carly nodded and climbed into the car, closing it as she told him Merry Christmas. Bumblebee exchanged the same and began standing as the car performed a U-turn and began driving home. Bumblebees smile faded and he went back into the Ark.

...

December 23rd. 19:57.

It was quiet in the halls of the Ark. Almost everybot was sleeping, excited to spend their first Christmas Eve together tomorrow.

The awake bots would wander and chat.

Prowl walked down the hall silently, heading to the brig. He was calm, his doorwings high and rigid as always.

He was expressionless.

He enjoyed the holidays at the Ark but he didn't show it. He felt he needed to be taken seriously still.

Reaching forward, he opened the door and entered. "I hope you three got enough sleep because you all have gaurd duty tonight until 5 hundred hours tomorrow morning." He spoke seriously, taking out his key and opening the cell doors. He received groans that he ignored.

"5am? Prowl, come on." Sideswipe groaned, sitting up.

"You decided to have a snowball fight." Prowl grumbled, glaring as he opened the cell. Sideswipe huffed and stood. Jazz and Sunstreaker stood as well and began leaving the cells. Prowl grumbled and turned, leaving.

"Your such a Grinch, Prowl." Sideswipe snarled to which Sunstreaker snickered at.

Prowl slammed the door after him.

...

December 24th. 8:12.

Twas the morning before Christmas, when all through the Ark.

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

Except a Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, who couldn't help but start a fight so early in the morning.

It was a monster like growl through the comm first that gathered the attention. Then it was two green creatures that both raced down the halls.

Bots were surprised and comm others.

There was two Grinches in the Ark.

The two viticms were none other than Prowl and Ultra Magnus.

Both humiliated, they chased down the two devils for what seemed like hours.

Bots laughed as they passed by, amused. Even Optimus cracked a smile behind his mask, chuckling softly at the sight.

Until something worse happened.

It was so unexpected.

Suddenly, the four bots were running back from the main room, shouting for Inferno and the Protectobots.

The Christmas tree was on fire.

Optimus's optics widened and he ran with the Protectobots to the main room that was getting eaten by flames.

Inferno grabbed an extinguisher from his subspace and immediately began trying to get out the fire. "How the slag did this happen!?" He snapped.

"It has to be something with the lights!" First Aid pointed to the exploding and inflamed lights.

At that, that was all was needed. Optimus reached to his comm and called the one bot responsible for most explosions and fires.

::Wheeljack, my office. Now.::

...

"I have no idea how this happened! I swear, Prime, everything was fine!" Wheeljack defended, frowning.

"It was not fine if the tree caught on fire!" Prowl snapped, still green and glued with green fur, standing next to a larger green grinch who looked angrier. Wheeljack couldn't tell if it was because of the fire or of what he looked like. Either way, Ultra Magnus was ticked.

"Alright, I know, I get it, but really-it couldn't have gotten a short circuit or blown a fuse or anything! I triple checked it!" Wheeljack protested. "Honest!"

"Then explain why the lights malfunctioned, soldier." Ultra Magnus seethed, making the inventor cower a bit.

Optimus sighed heavily and held up a servo to stop the two bots from intervening.

"Do you have any idea how this could have happened?" Optimus asked, calm but with disappointment still on his faceplates.

Wheeljack was silent. "No."

Optimus sighed again, frowning deeply as he rubbed his face. "You know Bumblebee knows this happened." He frowned. "You're going to have to tell him something." He mumbled.

Gulit suddenly shot in the white mechs spark. This was all for Bumblebee and Christmas was basically ruined. All the presents had been burned to ash.

"I-I'm sorry. I can try to figure out what happened and-." Wheeljack stopped by the Grinchs glares.

"You're dismissed." Optimus mumbled and Wheeljack sighed, standing up. The inventor left quietly.

Hours later...

The poor yellow bot was upset alright, but it was most upsetting as he tried to fix it. It was pitiful as he tried to save the gifts and the burnt tree.

He couldn't understand.

Out of all the things, the tree caught on fire. It could have been Decepticon attack or a worse blizzard to knock out the power but no, it had to be Wheeljacks inventions gone wrong again.

Bumblebee stared at his cube in the rec room, not finding himself able to drink it.

He just wanted a perfect Christmas so everyone could forgot about Decepticons for a day. But right before Christmas, the tree burned to a crisp.

Bumblebee brought his knees to his chest, watching Bluestreak sit next to him.

"Hey, Bumblebee. You okay?" The grey sniper asked gently. "I'm sure your not. I would be upset too. But you know, I called Carly and it's not Wheeljacks fault. Technically it was ours. It's kinda of funny actually. We just forgot to water the big thing so it dried out." Bluestreak rambled, trying to help his friend feel better.

"How did we forget that, Blue?" Bumblebee groaned softly, rubbing his faceplates. "Primus, that's so simple!" He cried out in frustration. "We had to just water it!? But why!? Isn't it dead already?" Bumblebee vented, growling a bit.

Bluestreak frowned, "No. You have to water it to keep it alive. I don't understand much of it but that's what-."

"Great." Bumblebee scoffed. "Christmas is ruined." He began standing up and leaving behind his cube and friend.

Bluestreak watched him go sadly, worried. He sighed and got up, going to find Prowl.

...

Christmas Day.

It was Christmas morning. Everybot last night tried to clean up the mess of the accident in the main room as Bumblebee slept. They all pitched in, knowing how upset he was.

Christmas meant a lot to the young scout.

As he woke, he didn't even feel like going to the main room to celebrate. He even rolled over once he woke and tried to fall back asleep.

Once settled, he began slipping into recharge until his door was knocked on.

"Go away." Bumblebee grumbled, not wanting to be bothered.

"Aw, Bee. Everybot is up and waiting for you." Rodimus's voice was clearly heard.

"They can celebrate without me." Bumblebee mumbled, staring at the wall.

"We can't. Santa insists to see you." Rodimus said gently, a smirk in his voice.

Curiosity poked at the yellow bot.

Santa?

"What do you mean, Santa?" Bumblebee asked, his optic ridges furrowing as he rolled over to look at the door.

"You'll have to come find out." Rodimus chuckled before walking away, his fading pedes clearly audiable.

Puzzled, Bumblebee got up and went to go to the main room.

Everyone was inside, talking quietly as they waited. Bots were sitting on the floor, some standing. Everyone was here and acting as if nothing happened.

Bumblebee blinked and looked around at them. Everyone was...happy. Surprised, he smiled a bit. He then noticed 'Santa'. He then began smiling more in amusement. Next to a fake tree (clearly made overnight by Wheeljack to make up for the tree) was Optimus Prime with a Santa hat and a fake beard. The leader seemed to not mins, in fact he looked like he enjoyed being Santa.

"Glad you could join us, Bumblebee." Rodimus smiled, placing a servo on his shoulder. Bumblebee smiled a bit.

"I-I don't understand. Christmas was ruined."

"Was." Ironhide smiled as he crossed his arms. "Merry Christmas, kid." He said gently. Bumblebee blinked again, not understanding until Optimus began walking to him. He opened his subspace and took something out.

Inside his servo was a carefully wrapped gift in glittering gold with a red ribbon wrapped around with a bow on top.

Bumblebees optics widened. "This...this is for me?" He asked in surprise. Optimus nodded gently. Bumblebee carefully took it into his servos. "But...how? I thought everything was burnt down." He frowned.

Optimus placed a servo on his shoulder, his optics squinting with happiness and amusement. "I thought you were one to get us to believe in Christmas miracles this week." He said gently. Bumblebee smiled at that.

"Open the gift!" Sideswipe shouted impatiently, grinning. Jazz grinned and began shouting the same through encouragement. Bumblebee laughed and carefully removed the bow, opening it.

Inside the small box was a yellow Snata hat with a card signed by everyone. Bumblebees optics brightened and his spark warmed.

"T-Thank you." He looked up at everyone before putting it on, tucking the note into his subspace. He received many hugs and rubs on the helm. Everybody was grateful for Bumblebee pushing them to make this holiday happen.

"So, were taking this to Cybertron, right?" Smokescreen asked, grinning as he looked to Optimus.

Optimus nodded. "I think we can." He said gently. Bumblebees optics widened and he never seemed so thrilled.

"Let's go outside and build snowmen!" Sideswipe shouted.

"Snowmen?" Sunstreaker muttered in confusion.

"You're going no where near snow!" Ultra Magnus snapped immediately, making a few laugh. Mirage sent a glare to Sideswipe, subconsciously rubbing his helm where his welds.

"I'm going to get you back, Sideswipe. I hope you know it." The spy bot warned. Sideswipe ignored him.

Bumblebee chuckled softly, looking around. So far Christmas was great and the day hadn't ended yet. He hugged Optimus happily to which the leader knelt a bit to return the hug.

"Thanks Optimus." Bumblebee mumbled.

"For what?" Optimus mummured, amused.

"For letting us celebrate Christmas." Bumblebee spoke quietly, hugging him tighter.

Optimus smiled but didn't reply right away, simply hugging him tighter. "Merry Christmas, Bumblebee."

A/N: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Hope you enjoyed! :)
