Hey Cop!

Universe: Prime/G1 AU postwar
Characters: Prowl (G1), Bluestreak (G1), Mars (OC), Sideswipe (G1), Sunstreaker (G1), Bumblebee (Prime), Crashflight (OC), Ultra Magnus (Prime), Smokescreen (Prime), Hot Rod (G1, mentioned)
Plot: the recently appointed back Chief Commander of the Enforcers has to deal with the shenanigans of soldiers turned cops. Good luck to him!
Notes: this is placed in the multiverse I and juiceboxandexpresso created in our roleplay.
Notable differences to keep in mind while reading:
- Optimus and Megatron died in the last battle in the core of Cybertron to bring back the Allspark. Optimus killed Megatron and died of wounds shortly after. Bumblebee didn't kill Megatron and there wasn't all the cyber matter stuff. So no voice.
- Ultra Magnus is the new Prime though he preferred keeping his old name not feeling worthy of Optimus' old title. He was the one to promote Bumblebee.
- Mars is my OC and Optimus' oldest adopted kid, along with Bumblebee and Hot Rod
- Hot Rod is much younger than the Canon

Prowl sighed sitting in front of his leader, Ultra Magnus. The Second in Command of the temporary government flexed his wings, his optics dimming, as he looked at how defeated the new Prime seemed to be.
"You know commander." the teal mech spoke softly while looking at him right back in the optics "I still remember when we planned the reconstruction with Optimus. He was going to look after the civilian part and the government asset, I would reorganize the new army, you would recreate the Enforcers Corps. And now everything is just so different than we planned. So difficult. "
The Head Tactician frowned more as his optics dimmed.
" Optimus would be proud of you, sir. ' he said quietly "you took his place egregiously.'
Ultra Magnus' optics seemed to soften and he dipped his helm slightly .
'Thank you Prowl." he muttered softly with a sigh and his use of the name instead of the rank of the officer made Prowl understand the conversation was shifting to more comfortable topics. ' now. Let's try to get on positive matters. Tomorrow you start training the Enforcers right? Are you ready?"

Prowl's wings twitched slightly in annoyance at the question he considered unnecessary and even slightly offensive. But before he could remind his Prime that he was never unprepared, the huge teal mech gave a slight shake of his helm.
" I know I know. You are always ready and find my question a personal offense." he said, and though he wasn't smiling, he rarely did, a hint of humor was in his voice. Peace was doing him well. Prowl relaxed, shaking his helm slightly.
'Am I so clear to read?' he asked quietly, earning what sounded dangerously like an amused snort.
" No you are not. " Ultra Magnus replied not really hiding how obviously this amused him "unless we are talking about the work. If we are, I know exactly how you react to a question on your readiness or preparation . We have worked together for a long time, I could observe these reactions a good number of times."
The Praxian felt embarrassed, a lot, because Magnus was not the most attentive to how bots felt and so his annoyance must have been painfully clear. But right now he preferred changing topic and continuing on not to embarrass himself further.
'Anyway yes, I am ready. " he muttered softly" I should start going sir. I want to finish a good amount of paperwork as from tomorrow I will have other matters to tend to as well.'
If Prowl didn't know better he would have sworn to see Ultra Magnus smirk in amusement. But it could not be. He was seeing things.
' Of course. But do get some decent recharge, commander. ' the Prime said returning to a professional tone. Prowl nodded and started leaving.
'Have a good cycle sir.'

Next morning Prowl was in the brand new station much earlier than anybody else. He was looking at the security measures taken while building the place, and his doorwings were high with satisfaction. Though his impulsive nature was still there Bulkhead had taken his job seriously. He could say nothing wrong about  the reconstruction director. If the day continued like it started, it would have been one of the best of the last vorn of peace.

Prowl had just the time to finish that thought, when a squeak sounded behind him.
"We'll be the best cops of the whole universe! Right Prowler? " a well known young voice sounded, and before he could turn to face the newcomer, Prowl was pulled in a crushing hug. Crushing was the correct term, as a stab of pain crosses his doorwings made the commander wince.
" Smokescreen! ' he sputtered trying to push away the other Praxian who was grinning happily and not letting go.
" Aww come on Prowler!' he whined while pouting, not letting go as he was stubborn, ignoring how his boss' field was flaring with anger and outrage" or wanna me call you boss? "
As if that predicament wasn't infuriating enough, other voices sounded further away just a moment before a big white and gray mech and a smaller yellow and black doorwinger arrived. A burst of buzzing giggles came from the new warrior now turned cop.
'Aww Smokes may have found a warm spark in the Commander's icy chassis.' he buzzed "as Prowl hasn't shot him yet... Or me. '
He added the last words hastily as Prowl gave him a absolutely murderous look. The commander glared at both the newcomers as Crashflight was trying not to giggle, wanting to keep a martial demeanor. Failing. His long praxian doorwings vibrating in amusement. Prowl huffed finally managing to wriggle out of Smokescreen's hug and stepping back.  He was about to speak when with his ever-growing annoyance a tall ruby red and black mech burst in the hall, followed by a smaller gray praxian.
"Sorry! Hot Rod was being a little fussy on me leaving." the bigger mech said. Bluestreak laughed his doorwings fluttering.
'Yeah I had to promise we'd bring him get sweets from Jazz's pub, but I don't even know if he has opened yet. But if it isn't I don't know what to do, he was crying already as we-" he started rambling but the voice of the now free commander cut him off gently.
'Bluestreak." he said gently, his wings flapping ever so slightly to invite him to calm down  "it's okay. Mars and Bumblebee, you are doing good taking care of your brother. If you are late or need to go check on him just tell me."
Mars and Bumblebee dipped his helm to Prowl, thanking him politely. Glad not to have a complete aft as boss.

'Now. " the Second in Command said having finally regained control over the situation "as we wait for the twins who are late, again, I will start showing you the place and explaining what will be the structure of your training. You'll explain it to Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. '
He was so annoyed even now the two were not in time. It always felt like a lack of respect toward him as their commander. He though tried to ignore it, leading his bots down the way to show them around. It was easier to in a while as he watched with well masked amusement Bumblebee and Smokescreen running in the training room, squeaking and picking up two small weights.

'I am the strongest mech of the world!' Smokescreen giggled raising them and keeping his wings high to show he wasn't making any true effort. Prowl just raised a optic ridge, as a completely serious Crashflight approached. Taking him by the scruff bar like a youngling and lifting him with the weight still in his servo. His optics glinting in amusement.
"You sure about that? ' the huge, gray and white captain rumbled. The young praxian whined a little pouting.
" I am still the strongest.' he grumbled softly. And if someone was looking at Prowl, instead of doubling over in laughter, would have seen a small smirk flash on his otherwise stoic expression, immediately masked by professionalism.
' let's not waste our times with silly jokes. You will need to start learning the rules you will have to abide as soon as we finish this tour.' he said seriously.
A collective groan rose from everyone.

Prowl was much more relaxed as he neared the end of the tour. Though the twins had not yet arrived, everything else was going fine. Bots were even listening to him! His wings had risen to the proudest stance ever as he showed him the cells and explained the protocols they had to follow. And he noticed how Bluestreak's wings fluttered at that. His son always said he had to relax more. But he couldn't unless things were actually going according to plan. Which almost never happened. This could be an exception, though the twins' absence was still an annoyance.

If only they were there too, it would have been perfect.

As he was thinking that, he spoke without even hesitating on a word, the knowledge of the protocols so deep he didn't even need to focus slightly. It was all automatic. He then finished, and asked:"Do you have any questions? '
Only a loud explosion seemed to reply, as he felt himself being thrown across the room. Excruciating pain hit him as his doorwings were smashed against the wall, and Prowl kept back a keen of agony. Dazed, he rubbed his face weakly and looked around, seeing his subordinates all slumped on the ground, the younger ones louder about the pain they were in. Prowl pushed through his agony, even as his frame screamed at him to lay down and let stasis take over. He pulled himself up weakly and groaned, his optics trying to focus.
'who are you?' he rasped, looking around in the cloud of dust that surrounded them and still had to settle. His tactical computer trying to understand why an enemy would have gotten in a still empty detention area. Like replying to those words, two brightly colored figures emerged from the almost foggy area. First there was gold, then striking red.
"Were we late to the party? ' a well familiar voice asked giggling' sorry Prowler, we wanted a blast-off!"
The Praxian commander just stared at him quietly, his optics still trying to focus. He then managed to open his mouth, ready to say something.
His optics glitched before turning off then, his dented frame falling on the floor with a thud.
The two twins looked at each other, before approaching their commander surrounded by other unconscious or groaning frames.
'Uh... Prowler? " Sideswipe asked shaking him gently. No response, the mech completely glitched. He turned to Sunstreaker with a sheepish grin.

" I think we broke our boss bro. "
