Ratchet struggled to stand in front of the scared human boy he wanted to protect. The orange and white Autobot glared at the silver Decepticon standing in front of him. Megatron merely smirked at him.

"It might be better for you to focus your attention behind you than in front of you."

Ratchet whipped around and saw Starscream pointing a missile at the unsuspecting human. Ratchet opened his mouth to warn the 12 year old boy, but was too late as Starscream fired his missile.

"RAFAEL!!" the medic called fearfully for his friend.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Raf looked up, a terrified look on his young face. Ratchet watched as dirt and rocks scattered all around him, scratching his shaking frame. When the dust cleared, Ratchet saw nothing there, and he fell to his knees.

He heard a blaster fire up behind him, and he let out an angry roar, standing, and slashing in a single breath. He glared at the silver mech, who had a shocked face on his face as energon spilled from a new wound on his abdomen. Ignoring the pain, Megatron aimed his blaster at the medic.

"MEGATRON!!!" a new voice entered the fray, and Ratchet looked up to see Optimus leaping from rock to rock. However, Optimus was too late as a blast hit the mech he was aiming for.

Ratchet looked around to see a very angry Bumblebee, who was cradling something in his free servo.

::No one hurts my family:: Bumblebee whirled darkly. Ratchet felt his spark leap as a familiar brown haired boy peaked through the scouts digits.

Rafael was alive. Ratchet didn't know how but he didn't care. Instead, he stumbled toward the duo, to which Bumblebee happily delivered the scare boy into Ratchet's servos so he could focus on the battle at hand.

"Don't ever do that again!" Ratcher scolded. If it were anyone else, they might have been scared of the medic's tone, but Rafael knew that it was out of relief. The young boy smiled and hugged the medic's faceplate.

"I won't", he promised. "No more pulling Miko's."

Ratchet chuckled softly, and quickly called for a ground bridge. His family was safe. For now.
