Getting a Guardian...and Something More-Bulkhead

Oh my god this one took SO LONG to write. Sorry about that, but now the rest will start to come along more smoothly. :)

After a night full of nothing but laughter and bike tricks, you had started to see what the time really was. Miko was absolutely going to be your best friend on this team. Bumblebee was like a weird goofy friend, and was really nice, even though you needed Raf for translating. And the little boy was adorable and incredibly smart-in a way, you couldn't help but admire him. You didn't know how you felt about Arcee, but at the moment it wasn't anything all that good. She hadn't said a single kind word to you, all she really did was glare with a judgmental brow raised. Jack was better, he was friendly and funny. He would also end up being a close friend, or at least, you thought he would. It was gonna be a lot of fun teasing Ratchet, he was like a grumpy old Grandpa, and you could only dream of the amount of pranks and jokes you could pull. Finally, there was the Prime. You didn't really like being told what to do, and he was definitely the leader, but...he had a way that didn't really seem like ordering, more like asking. Still, you might have to be patient with the calm father figure of the team if you didn't want to be a total rebel with the incredibly powerful, 100x bigger than you bot. You, Bulkhead, Bumblebee, and the rest of the kids had been talking and goofing since you had arrived, but you realized it was getting sort of late at the same time Raf piped up about how he "had to go home or his mom would kill him". All the kids went to their guardians, but you realized you didn't have one.

"Uh, Bulkhead, we have a problem." You say, glancing anxiously up at the green bot.

"What?" He asks.

"I don't have a guardian. And you are already the guardian of Miko, and Bee is the guardian of Raf so..." You say with a pointed glance.

"Oh." he says, a dumb look passing over his face and he lifts a hand to the back of his neck. "Optimus, who's supposed to be Y/N guardian?"

The giant mech walks over. His face is placid, but his eyes look slightly frustrated and stressed. "I suppose I will be her guardian."

"What!" You shout.

"Really?" Bulkhead asks.

"There is no one else, and Ratchet is needed here." The Prime says.

"You know, I could probably drive her around so you don't have to. I'd drop off Miko first then Y/N and you can stay at the base." Bulkhead offers.

Optimus' eyes look like they almost clear with relief. "Thank you, Bulkhead." He turns to look at you. "I am sorry I will not be able to assist you, but I have many duties here that must be addressed."

"It's fine Optimus, it'll probably be better for both of us if I just go with Bulkhead. Thank you though." You say with a half smile.

He nods before walking off and you turn to Bulkhead.

"Well..." You say, "That happened..."

"Yeah..." He says slowly.

"Okay you two! Time for a certain someone to get home before they get in even more trouble than they already are in!" Miko shouts out from below the platform.

You grin and run down the stairs as Bulkhead transforms and grab your bike, putting it in the back. You sit up front, much to Miko's dislike, but just stick your tongue out at her and turn on the radio. As one of your favorite songs come on you start to sing to it quietly as you look outside at the desert landscape. Your eyes follow trails where you would ride your bike, where you would flip and turn and pop wheelies-everything falling perfectly into place in your mind.

After driving for a few more moments, you find yourself moving through the streets of Jasper, the familiar scenes blurring by. It hadn't been silent since that first song, and you and Miko had been singing to your hearts' content. But now, you had arrived at Miko's house and Bulkhead turned the music down.

"Hey! What gives!" Miko cried.

"We're at your house Miko." Bulkhead says, like this is something that happens normally. You laugh.

"Heh, my bad! See ya Bulk! You too Y/N!"

"Bye Miko." Bulkhead says as you wave.

After the young girl walks through the door all is quiet. You glance around before letting a small smile settle on your face.

"She's a special one, that girl." You say.

"Who, Miko? Yeah. She is."

"I'm glad I got to meet her. It doesn't feel like it all happen this morning." You laugh.

"It really was just this morning? It feels like I've known you for years." He says contemplatively. "Still, one thing managed to sneak past 'all these years'." He teases.

"Oh yeah? And what would that be 'old friend'?" You say with a smile.

"Your address. How am I supposed to get you home?" He says with an amused tone.

You laugh straight out. "(address), Bulkhead, (address)."

He chuckles as he pulls out, heading towards your house. You can't keep the small content smile from spreading across your face as you absentmindedly drum your fingers against the side of the door. It isn't long before you get to your house, and when you do you quickly jump out and grab your bike from the back. You walk to front of the car and smile brightly, leaning against your F/C bike casually.

"Thank you for driving me home." You say.

"Of course." He says. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

You smile even bigger. "Of course."

He gives a small huff of a laugh. "Alright then, goodnight Y/N."

"Goodnight Bulkhead." You say softly.

You walk up to your garage and place your bike in its spot, before turning around and waving.

You hear a short honk in response and smile before going inside and shutting the door.

As Bulkhead drives off and pulls out to the lone desert road. His processor is filled with everything that happened today, his mind reeling and churning with the thoughts. Nothing will stay for more than a fleeting moment before being replaced with a certain someone. But what really blows him away is that someone isn't Miko. Normally she's all he thinks about at times like this. But right now, all he can think about, is Y/N.
