After they came back, Ratchet immediately took a scanner to her burn and found it to be a pretty severe, and that if left untreated could permanently damage the nerves in her arm or burn all the way to her bone. They didn't have any medicine to specifically treat it so Jack went back to his house and talked to his mom about severe burns and how to treat them. Whatever excuse or reason Jack gave, it was enough for her to tell him how to treat it. Miko picked up what they needed at a pharmacy real quickly and came back to treat Nova's left arm.

Nova was lying on the gurney unconsciously while Jack was applying the medicine to her wound gently and wrapped her arm with gauze. Once Jack finishes, he steps back to allow Ratchet to scan her again, waiting for the results. Ratchets face keep calm and focused before he said, "She's going to be alright, she must have exhaust herself and her arm should still retain full functionality once its healed." Campy hopped onto her gurney and settled himself at the crook of her neck, worried of her well-being. "Still gonna leave a wicked scar though." Miko mentioned. Jack scolded, "Miko!!"

 "It's my fault, I should have been more careful! I shouldn't have gotten distracted....! And because I did she—" Arcee said angrily as she paces from side to side. "Arcee." Jack called her name, making her stop and look at him. "It's fine. Nova was the one that told me to run while she attacked her and angered her. She got the drop on all of us. Don't worry, She'll be alright." He said calmly and comfortingly as to her. His words help as she sighs and nods. He smile for putting her at ease if even just a little. 

Jack had looked up to Nova and went to her for support. Sure, her stoic demeanor would put off most people, but unlike them, he knew that she wasn't like that deep down. She just had trouble showing her emotions and trusting people with them. But even after knowing her for weeks, he still didn't know much about her past. All he knew was that it was rather dark enough that she refused to talk about it to anyone, keeping them locked away with her emotions. But her respected that about her, though he still found himself curious still from time to time. Still, he sometimes wished that she would open up to people more often. It couldn't be healthy having only a list of people she trusted that you could count on one hand.

Ever since he had first met her, she had been disappearing at random moments to go on these road trips to who-knows-where. The first time she had done it, she had nearly scared Jack to death, coming back a little worse for wear. After the first couple times, he finally got used to it but he still wondered where she went and what she did. No matter how hard he had tried, he still had not gotten a straight answer out of her about them. But one good thing about hanging around her, Jack had begun to be able to recognize the signs that showed that she was about to care, and it was gonna happen soon. Jack just hoped that she would actually tell someone this time instead of not admitting how she feel. He would have to remind her later about it. Hopefully, she would actually listen and remember this time. For now, they waited for Nova to wake up, hoping she might recover. 

Inside the Dreamscape

For Nova's part, she was in some kind of dream where she was wandering in the dark room. She wondered what she was doing there when she see a silhouette from the distance as she walk towards the shadow figure. The moment she got close, it looked like female standing there with back turn, wearing a lab coat and had silk hair. She had no idea who she was as she walked towards her. When she got closer, the fire appeared out of nowhere and surrounded her. It was getting hotter and hotter, she doesn't know what's going on. She called out to the mysterious lady as she turned to her only to see her shaded face which was hard to see, for some reason she felt like she had know her from long ago. 

Nova was about to ask her when she notice the mysterious lady gave a horror look as she said to her, "Nova, Look out!!"Nova flinched when she called her name. Both of them were about to reached each other when Nova saw a man behind the mysterious lady. He had scars on his familiar face and wears somekind of bodysuit of a soldier, only to see he was holding a pistol gun pointing at her. Much to Nova's shock and horror, she tried to warned her but a bullet shot the mysterious lady. Her face suddenly pale and eyes wide with terror of what she witness. The lady's body fell limb and her blood sprawled on the floor. Nova shook in fear and shouted, stretching arm out to her, "NO?!!!!!!!"  

End of Dreamscape

Nova screamed as she sat up from her gurney, breathing hardly in a cold sweat which caught everyone's attention. Jack went to her just to calm her down instead to his surprise, Nova hugged him tightly and was shuddering in fear. Jack said worriedly, "Nova?"she wasn't paying attention, she seem to be hyperventilate as if she was in traumatize state. She said with grief, "I'm sorry....I'm sorry....I'm sorry.....I couldn't save HER....."They were confused of whom she was talking about except didn't hear the last part, Arcee also wondered why she was apologizing so badly. Jack pry himself from the hug and gently shake her shoulder, trying to snapped her out of her mental state. Nova blinked for a minute as she was aware of her surrounding and had everyone's eyes at her. Nova said with shaky voice, "J-Jack?"

Raf asked worriedly, "Are you alright? DO you know where you are now?"Nova stared at Raf then at the others. She wondered what happened to her then she remembered Arachnid. Nova questioned it but Jack assured her that he was alright and explained about Arachnid stuck on Earth. Nova cringed as she looked at her left arm to see it was abandoned which Ratchet explained her conditioned.

Jack asked, "WHat happened? One moment you were freaking out and kept apologizing multiple times. Then, you snapped out of it."

She doesn't know what he meant and thought for a minute of why she say that when she began to see an image of a fire surrounding around her and a gunshot of a mysterious lady as she came back to reality. She felt a pain as she clenched on her head and her breathing is ragged. Jack asked worriedly, "Nova, What's wrong?"

"I....need some air." NOva stood up from her gurney as she started walking away from them before it turns into a sprint to the elevator. Jack tried to call her as slam the button for the top floor. "Whoa. What happened to her?" Miko asked. Some of the Autobots shrugged but Arcee stares at the elevator taking her to the top of their base. Campy felt sad about what happened as it hopped of the gurney and head to the couch where Nova's jacket was."She doesn't seem alright?" Arcee asked Jack. He replied, "Yeah... She seems shaken about what happen. That was the first time I've seen her being afraid yet she didn't want too admit it."

Arcee thought about the human that irritates her. For the longest time its always been Nova never showing her emotion. It was the first time she sees Nova being afraid since she never show her sense of fear in front of anyone. "Hmm." She hummed before walking to the cargo elevator meant for her and her teammates. "Arcee, where are you going?" Optimus asked, who also concerned about her.

"To talk to her."

"You? Talk to her?" Bulkhead asked in disbelief. Bumblebee is confused as well by her action."Yeah yeah, I know. I'm just going to go ahead and get this over with." She continues walking, this time a little bit faster. Miko turned to Jack, "So tell me what happened about your mission with Arcee?"

On the Rooftop

As Arcee comes up to the rooftop, she glances around to try and find the human. She spots her standing and standing in front of Cliffjumpers grave. When she walks up to her, she notices that she's holding something in her hand. It's when she steps close enough to see what she's holding does she freeze.The broken horn of Cliffjumper is placed firmly in her right hand as she stares at it. She is about to tell her to drop it, but the somber sad look she has on her face stops her. She continues to walking until she is staring out into the sunset. "That's Cliffjumper's you know?" She says to her without looking.

Nova lets out a sigh before placing it back, "If your here just to lecture me about my stupidity, I'm listening."Arcee replied, "No....its different." Nova let out a sigh as she went to sit down with her legs over the edge, and Arcee joins her. "You alright?" She asked. Much to NOva's surprised that she was asking about her well being.

"Yeah.... I'm good. Tired mostly."

Both of them were silence a bit as Nova stated grimly, "What I heard from Jack, I don't think Arachnid would have wanted to leave the planet. Maybe gone into orbit but I feel like she would not leave until she got what she wanted....a trophy. I don't know about her but you seem to have a grudge on her from the past."

"Seems so." Arcee said before sighing and looking sadly at her. "I'm sorry you had to face my demons today." She apologized. "I heard it from JAck that you risked your life back there and I want to say....thank you for protecting him ." Nova turned to her and was surprised that she thanked her but she wasn't proud of it. "I didn't do this for you Ok, I only did what I had to do. After what happened with Arachnid, I still won't forgive her for scraping my arm"Nova said, lifting her bandage arm.

"Well, you did blast her."

"To save Jack."

"Not to mention Jack told me that she wanted you as her pet."

She place my face in her hands as she was reminded of that little bit. "Ughhhhhh. Don't remind me that." Both of them kept staring at the sky, Arcee then asked NOva, "Nova, I know you were terrified of what Arachnid did to you."Nova stared at her disbelief and said, "I-I don't what your talking about...."

"Yes I do, we all saw how frightened you are, I can see it in your eyes. I'm not only one who is hiding our feelings."

NOva flinched when she recalled what happened back there. She lowered her face with an angry and shameful look. Arcee said, "I don't know what scared you but all I wanted is for you to listen and tell me, don't bottle up inside"Nova never knew that Arcee could be that concerned, despite that she irritated her. She couldn't admit it but she was right that she can't hide it from Arcee. Nova said admittedly,"*sigh* Fine, you were right I was afraid, not becoz of Jack......but I was afraid of not able to save anyone."Arcee got surprised that Nova spoke openly to her as she continued, "When I met Jack and the others, I didn't want to take part of it despite of the danger ahead of them yet they still want to help. I couldn't understand it beside I'm different from them. I've been fighting on the streets with no problem I had, where I don't feel responsible."

Arcee stared at her as her point of view about Nova began to change. She had no idea she had been through where she don't have to feel responsible. "However, the moment Arachnid was about to harm Jack, my head began to felt pained and for some reason I felt an urged that I want to save him so badly and didn't want to watch him perished in front of me."Nova said. Arcee wondered what she meant as she notice her somber look on Nova's face. "I may not know Tailgate but Cliffjumper..... He's not coming back, is he? You can't just repair or make a new body? He's gone for good?"SHe asked.

Arcee doesn't respond immediately, but she does look down in sadness before nodding. "No. We can't." She answered firmly. Her thought was originally that's what she thought they could do, just simply repair themselves like nothing from the brink of death, but the way how her shoulders slump and sag says differently. "I see....Its painful to lose someone you care, isn't it?"Nova said. Arcee nodded yes which Nova felt pity for her. Arcee said to NOva, "Look, its ok to be afraid when it comes to be brave. I know that but you should realize no one is fearless when your saving anyone from danger."As NOva stared at her, It felt odd having such a normal conversation with a giant robotic being, but stranger things have happened. Arcee notice the look on her face and asked, "Is something wrong?"

Nova replied, "Its just.....I never get along with your team, especially that Hatchet but you and Optimus were the only ones who were trying to open up to me. I'm not much of a social person when it comes to conversation."

"I guess this is your first time having communications with me."

Nova nodded her head and said to Arcee, "As much as I dislike you but....I hate Arachnid the worst. She took advantages of your weakness and insulted about your partners. Now I see why you didn't want to lose Jack."

"Yes, I may have lost my partner before, I don't want to repeat the mistake again. "She said and starts walking back to the elevator, leaving her stunned in her seated position. Before she hits the button to go down, she looks at her again. "Nova, There's nothing to be scared of, all it matter is that Jack is safe." And with that final thought, she activates the cargo elevator and heads back down to where everyone else.

Nova stared at the retreating form of the femme bot until she disappears inside altogether. Once the doors close, she looks down at her bandage arm. She caressed her arm gently for a little while, her breathing getting heavier and heavier until she clenches her arm firmly. She felt relaxed after her talk with Arcee and was her first time when she made her feel better. She was no longer shaking in fear any more. She later gets into the elevator, leaving a fully set sun.

Inside the Base

"Are you sure you are not imagining things? Nova creating lightning with her bare hands is impossible." Ratchet stated clearly not amused. "No, I'm serious...." Jack said, shaking his hand back and forth. Arcee came back to main room where she sees Jack finish explaining to them about Nova. "So, How'd it go?" Bulkhead asked as Arcee finally returns." As well as you'd expect. What did I miss?" She said a hand on her hip. Bulkhead was about to say something when....

*Ding*

Everyone looks to the elevator as it comes down to their level, only to see Nova came out from the elevator. She noticed the look on everyone was staring at her. Nova questioned, "Is there something wrong?" Jack was about to say something until Miko beat him to it. "Jack told me that you create lightning with your bare hands. C'mon, Show us." Miko urges. "Miko, I don't-" Jack said, but Nova cut him off. She doesn't know what Miko was talking about until she tried to recall what happened back there. An image appeared in her mind that her hand was sparked with lightning which she remembered she blasted Arachnid with her power.

"It's okay, Jack." She said softly as walk a few feet away from them."What are you doing?" Bulkhead asks. She didn't say anything as she close her eyes and let her hands fall limp at her sides. She try to concentrate if she can tap into her powers again and soon felt the familiar heat forming at her fingertips. She heard the startled gasps from everyone and open her eyes. Their eyes are wide in shock. She move her hands so that they are in her chest level. Blue sparks are dancing around her hands. "H-how is that possible?" Ratchet asks. She closed her eyes and will for the sparks to disappear. She open her eyes and hug herself, not daring to look. "To tell the truth, I hardly know it exactly myself. I just know that I am able to create electricity and manipulate lightning. When I saw Jack trouble, my emotions must have triggered it somehow."She said. Arcee stared at her and thought, 'That would explain the flash I saw in the forest.'

Miko said excitedly, "I can't believe you pick a fight of a Con just to protect Jack and you have new power. That was awesome, maybe next time you might be able help the autobots."Nova seems so distraught about the idea that she almost let Jack got killed which she was not proud of and was upset about it.

"There won't be a next time." Nova tense up at the commanding voice that is Optimus. They all look up to the leader as he stares at her with a cross look and folded arms. She asked, "What do you mean?"

"I mean you are not to leave this base to accompany or participate in any mission that involves Autobot or Decepticon. Even on routine patrols."

"WHAT?!"

"Oh no." Raf moans.

"Harsh." Miko comments.

"Why?"Nova questioned angrily.

"For whatever reason, you may not place as much care in your safety as you should, but that doesn't mean I should feel the same." Her mood begins to deflate as she listen to his words. "I will not allow you to undertake any sort of mission that could possibly end in your death. Do I make myself clear?"

Nova stare at him in disbelief, she want to protest but she notice the look on her guardian, it was filled with worries and concern about her well-being. Even she wanted to convince but it will not get her nowhere. A thought enters her head, making her face adopt an emotionless neutral state. She take in a deep breath before standing straight and exhaling. "....I understand." Nova answer in a monotone voice.

"Thank you for your understanding." Optimus relaxes and nods. "I am sorry I have to do this and I hope you eventually see why I am doing this." He tries to put Nova at ease. It doesn't look like its working as well as he'd hope since her face doesn't change. "Rest assured, you can still help us out however you are able from here in the base." Nova doesn't react to as she turns around and grabbed her black jacket along with Campy who hopped onto her shoulder as she climbs down the stairs silently before he makes his way deeper into the base.

"I'm going for a walk." She simply states without turning back. Everyone watches as she turns the corner and leaves everyone in the main room, the atmosphere tense from the shutdown Optimus was forced to employ.

"Wow, she's really bummed out about this." Miko speaks up, getting some nods from the others at the emotionless state he was in.

"Give her time. She will find a way to cope and still help when she can." Optimus said and heads to the main doorway. "I am going out on patrol. With the addition of a new Decepticon on the planet, things just may be more complicated than before." He transforms and begins driving away.

"We'll hold down the fort here!" Jack called out as their leader leaves the base. As soon as Optimus leaves, they all sigh. "Wow. I was not expecting that."

"No kidding." Bulkhead said along with Bumblebee agreeing with him.

"He....can't really do that...can he?" Raf asked to no one in particular. Everyone rubs their arms or the back of their heads awkwardly. Being the leader of their team, Optimus kind of does have that authority.

"I'll admit," Ratchet begins to say, getting everyone's attention despite him still working on the main terminal. "Nova has done some impressive feats that either aided us or outright saved some of our lives."

"Yeah!" Bulkhead shouts, "Like the time he was able to create force field, hack through systems and lift things! Not to mention when he pushed you out of the way when that fake Wheeljack tried to take someone as a hostage." He gestures to Miko.

"She also saved us and took out that 'con when we were trapped on the 'con war ship." Miko reminds them of the first major mission they went through.

"Had Arachnid focus on her rather than me." Jack mentions what happened back in the forest.

"And back at the time when she fought a Mech agents on the train!" Raf chimes in his own thoughts as well.

"Then later when he helped Bulkhead take the Harvester from Starscream." Ratchet finishes what he's doing on the computer before turning to the others and walking closer. "It may be damaged, but it's not nearly as worse as what may have happened if Starscream continued to use it on Bulkhead." Ratchet grimly states at the reminder.

"Agreed." The former wrecker grumbles at the memory of how close that mission was.

"But the majority of all those things came with the high risk of him either getting hurt, or possibly losing his own life." Ratchet added.

"Nova got lucky with Arachnid. She tends to play with her prey before finishing them off." Arcee said with a bit of tension in her voice on how close things were back at the forest. "That's why Optimus doesn't want her to go out anymore. She put herself in too many spots to get herself attacked and theirs no way Optimus will let someone as young as her intentionally put herself in danger." She finishes explaining. After seeing how disappointed Nova was in having been confined to the base and not be able to help like how they were before on missions, they begin to feel bad and can only imagine what she's feeling right now. Jack began to wonder where NOva went as he climbs down and head towards to where Nova is. He walk in relative silence as he go down the long hallway to where Nova went. He was thinking about when Nova was shuddering in fear before and was lamenting herself for no reason. He wonder who she was apologizing.

He searched everywhere for Nova when he heard a sizzling sound. As he got closer, he found Nova in some kind of secret room. He peeked in the room only to see Nova practicing her power where she formed an electro ball on her hand before it dissipated. Nova sighed then felt someone was behind her as she swing her leg at the person only to see Jack. He was nervous when her leg was close to his face which was a good thing she didn't hurt him. Nova lowered her leg and said, "Oh its just you, I didn't expect you to find me in here."She picked up Campy as she rubbed him on his helm which let out a purr. Jack said, "SOrry, How did you find this room?"

"Campy found it while searching for something to munch."

"Oh....Um...."

"You have questions for me, right? So spit it out."

"Look, I'm sorry you got injured......Optimus was concern about you and won't allowed you to be any more missions, just becoz he's your guardian . I know your upset...."

"I'm not upset....."which Jack was confused as she continued, "I was disappointed.... If Optimus is worried for my safety, its fine. I was to blamed for not being to careful."touching her bandage left arm.

Jack was silenced at first that she wasn't upset about it but deep down she didn't want to admit it. "You know, Jack, today has been so tiring. That happens when you are fighting and running for your life. But, that's not your fault. Today, I found out things I didn't know I could do with my powers." Nova said dryly, staring at her hands as they would tell her all the things she can do and how to do it. "What do you mean? Do you not know what you are capable of?" Jack asked curiously.

"Not exactly. I don't use my powers that often and train with them. The techniques that I do know, I know my limit, but today, when that Arachnid tried to kill you...I didn't know I could do that. I need to find out more about myself and how complex my abilities can reach. If I ever have to go against an enemy, I want to be able to defend myself. Even if its a Decepticon."

"Wow, I didn't expect you to be a caring-type."

"Well, I don't know why....after being stuck with all of you, I feel like beginning to grown on everyone. I don't like being involve but I can't have you, Raf and Miko to put yourselves in danger and risking your life."

"The Autobots protected our planet and they're going to protect us too. You saw how they fought."

"I know. They are amazing fighters, but you have to remember that there are a lot more of Decepticons and they can easily put their numbers against one of them and I don't think the encounter would come out great. What I'm trying to say is you don't know what will happen in the next encounter with Decepticons on board."

"Your right.....It's not going to be an easy battle, but it would be great if they had one more person that can help fight against them. Someone......like you."

Nova stared at him as her back turned and said, "Yeah someone like me. Optimus order I'm not allowed to go on any mission so I'll stand down, for now."Jack said to her, "Wait....your not going to go back on OPtimus word behind his back."

"Look, I respect Optimus, I do. His conviction and willingness to save my species is one of the things I'm grateful for but I can't just stay here while they all go out there to fight for both their kind and mine!" She yelled, her voice filled with conviction that he never heard of before. "I know he doesn't want me part of the war but I can't just stay helpless and do nothing. I don't know why I'm saying this.....but I had a feeling they still need help. So I can be better prepared and way more effective in combat than I ever was so Optimus doesn't have to worry. So THIS doesn't have to happen again!"

Jack was surprised by her outburst that she was stubborn and determined to help. He and his two friends helped the autobots, it seem she felt the same way. "If that's what you want then I won't stop you."He said. Nova raised her brow as she narrowed at him and said, "What do you mean?"

"We all feel the same I mean if you were us, we would do anything to help them. If that's what your going to do, I'll support you along the way."

Nova turned to him and said, "THx JAck I'm glad you understand but just you know I'm not doing this for them, I'm doing this for your sakes and our home."Jack shook his head that she still didn't want to admit it. Nova told him to keep their conversation between them becoz she doesn't like anyone to know she cares especially to Optimus which Jack agreed. As he was about to leave, he turned to NOva who is still trying to learn how to use her electrical power. She didn't know Jack looked up to her. Then he remembered as Jack began to asked why she was shaking and apologizing gravely back there. Nova's body tensed that she couldn't tell him about the dream or the image she had, she is not sure if she can tell the rest of them. Nova turned to him and said with a lie, "It was.....just the nightmare I had."
