After the threat was over, The Ground Bridge opens near them and they all look at Optimus. "All three of you go back to base. We still have to transport the D.N.G.S. to safety." Optimus says. Jack and Miko nod and both head inside however Nova stay behind and look at Optimus. Nova stared at him for a second before going in the vortex not looking back. When she came through, Campy jumped on her arms in happiness that his master came back safely as he nuzzled her chest. However, she felt very exhausted due to stopping the train with her technopathy. It drained her so much of her strength.

"Dude, I think you just became a superhero back there." Miko said as she clasps her hands together. "Is that so?" She asked sarcastically as she walk towards the catwalk with Campy and the rest following behind."Heck yeah! You were fighting off villains and looked awesome." She said as she pretends punching off a foe. "What you did today, was really heroic. So I will have to agree with Miko that you became a hero." Jack adds. "Yeah and like the majority of heroes they have a 'costume' in what they fight crime. Yours is that black hooded jacket." Miko continues and they all are at the catwalk. Nova walk towards the couch and sit down with a sigh. "Are you okay?" Jack asked. Nova just close her eyes, placing her head and facintired g upwards. Taking a deep breath, She sigh tiredly. "I'm just tired, after all that stupid stunts I just made. I just need to rest for a bit."

5 minutes later

OPtimus came back to the base as he turned to see the children sitting on the couch looking exhausted. He notice Nova was there who was eating a box of leftover doughnuts. However, his curiosity is that the way she fought and learned to used weapon was unlike he ever seen. Something tells him that she has been taught well despite her amnesia. For Nova her part, she wondered where she learned to use a weapon even though she doesn't who she was. But this new enemy, Mech, she had an uneasy feeling that something tells her that wasn't going to be easy.

As she was eating, Miko went over to Nova and asked, "So, have you decided?" Nova stared at her and said, "What do you mean?"

"You know, after all that encounter and danger, you should definitely needed a guardian."

Nova choked on her food which caught everyone attention, Jack was not sure if Nova wanted a guardian before their first meeting they were told that she doesn't need an autobot to watched over her. Nova replied, "Why would I want a guardian? I told you I don't need one."Arcee scolded, "But that's no reason just to engage the enemy yourself. We don't know what will happen if the Decepticons might find you."Which made Nova felt peeved and didn't say anything. "So, Who will be her guardian?" Raf asked, turning to Arcee, Bumblebee and Bulkhead. Bulkhead himself was fine but she had seen the glances Nova had cast Miko, they were polar opposites and having the same guardian.....

"I know....Bulkhead could be her guardian! Oh, we could go dune-bashing, and listen to shriek music. It would be great!" Miko hadn't seen the warry looks Nova had cast at her and thought that it was awesome to have a tough fighter on her side.

At Miko's suggestion Nova silently scooted a bit farther away from the girl and her guardian, blood would be shed if she was place with Miko and Bulkhead and that blood would be Miko's. Optimus was the only one who saw Nova move slightly farther away from Miko, Bulkhead would not be a good choice.

"I will be her guardian." Optimus stated.

You could hear crickets chirping from the silence that ensued, then in a flood there were voices asking questions like 'what' 'are you sure' 'Optimus you have to be kidding!'

"I'm not kidding old friend. I have thought about this carefully and decided that I would be the best choice to be her guardian."

"Guardian for what?" Fowler called out. He had just come back from his delivery than when he had left. "So it was Nova." NOva who was disbelief that Optimus decided to be her guardian even though she's against it. "Yes, it was Nova. And as I had just said, I will be her guardian." Optimus stated. 'Who let you decide that?'Nova said mentally.

"I see.....Uh Listen, thanks for saving my bacon back there Prime." Fowler spoke his thanks as he walked through the bridge. "It was not all my doing, the children helped greatly too. I fear that if they hadn't been there we would have lost the D.N.G.S." Optimus replied. "Is that so," Fowler turned to the kids, "Well I guess in that case is there anything I can do for you?" They hadn't been expecting this, they were more expecting him go on some rant where none of them would listen, and they just shook their heads, "Well actually," Raf suddenly thought, "Could you get someone to fix my laptop. Mech pretty much fried it." He held it so Fowler could see, it was still smoking. "Sure thing." Fowler laughed when she notice Nova who doesn't seem amused.

He asked, "Nova, Right?" Nova turned to him as he continued, "I know both of us don't get along very much....."She expected him that she was going to get scolded like the other people she met when trying to pick a fight. "....but I will tolerate you for now since you were able to assist the autobots despite your recklessness and cooperation. If there's anything you need, I'm pretty sure I might be able to find information about you and your parents. Don't worry I won't forced you."Nova stared at him with a surprised look, instead of being scolded she was praised for helping their mission. She never wanted this but she never had anyone praised her or offered for anything before. Which the lights began to flickered again depending on her mood.

She turned her gaze away to avoid suspicion and replied with a demeanor look, "I'll...let you know If I needed anything, now if you excuse me I'm heading to the roof to get some fresh air."as she placed Campy on the couch and head to the lift. Optimus watched as his charge climbed the lift and allowed the doors to shut behind her, riding it to the top before Fowler was about to say anything else. She was definitely upset, he could see, just not at anyone in particular, though it may have seemed like it.

Fowler turned to them, "SHe's still hated me."The children shrugged their shoulder in response. Once Fowler left, Optimus glance around to make sure that no one was really paying attention to him. Arcee and Jack were now talking quietly in a corner, Miko and Rafael were playing video games with their guardians cheering them on from behind, and Ratchet was working on the monitors, sighing every so often in annoyance at the racket everyone else was making.Using everyone's lack of attention on him to his advantage, Optimus quietly slipped out of the room and made his way to the secondary lift to the roof.

The sun had just set when he made it up top. With the last rays of light just beginning to fade, the stars were now becoming visible to the optic with the gradual blackening of the sky. The sight was oddly beautiful. Optimus blinked, mentally shaking the thoughts away. Looking around for his charge, he nearly mistook her for more rocks in the meager light. Nova sat perfectly still near the edge of the mesa, hugging her legs while stared out at the dying light as the wind blew through her hair before calming down. For a moment, he just stood there, watching the organic femme as the distant light gave one last hurrah before finally sinking below the horizon. Nova felt a presence behind her when her hair just flickered in bright blue.

"I know your over there.....If you're going to stand there and stare at me, at least have the decency to do it where I can see you," came Nova's quiet voice, any trace of her previous upset absent from her tone. In a somehow graceful motion, Nova looked over her shoulder at him and softly patted the spot next to her as if she wanted company. Obligingly, Optimus took her invitation and sat next to the girl, his pedes dangling over the edge. He did not say anything. He just sat there, following her gaze, and trying to find that hidden image in the distance that only she seemed to see. The silence between them was not uncomfortable, more of a companionable silence that was only broken by the sounds of wind eroding away the landscape around them.

"I'm sorry about back there," she suddenly said. "I wasn't used to being nice to anyone, even Fowler. I know he praised and offered anything I need but It wasn't my intention in helping you on your mission where I don't get involved. Instead, I'm now involved in something bigger now. I wasn't suppose to care and yet I began to feel it. If only I hadn't stop Jack and Miko for going there, we would've exercised better judgement today. "

Optimus shook his helm. "Do not blame yourself. You did what you thought was best for the right reasons." "Yeah, we nearly got killed in the process," Nova retorted bitterly.

" 'Nearly'," Optimus repeated. "But you survived this encounter and likely learned from this experience."

"This time," She muttered cynically under her breath though Optimus still heard her. Out of the corner of his optic, he noticed as her grip on her legs momentarily tightened. Then she sighed, loosening her hold a bit. "Sorry it's just....I hate it when I do something reckless that is beyond my power of control. Then when Fowler brought my parents up..." Nova bit her lip and looked out at the sky. Optimus concluded, "It is fine, after all you did leave so that you wouldn't lose control completely. That in itself takes control."

"SUre.....and they think I'm supposed to be the role model; the one who sets the example for the others. But If they're pulling stunts like today, then it means that I'm not setting a very good example for them. You of all people, er—bots, should understand this."

He did not respond to her immediately. Nova's logic, as always, was hard to argue with, so he didn't.

"I do, Nova. But from what I have learned from both my time here on Earth and on Cybertron, youths, particularly teenagers, sometimes learn best through their own experience."

"And Ratchet?"

"I would rather not say."

She said, "*sigh* Sure. So what else do you want to know Prime?"

  "I think that that is all for tonight." 

 For a moment, all she could do was blink in surprise.

Then, "What?!"

She was so shocked that she didn't even realize that she was raising her voice.

"I said that I think–"

"I know what you said, I'm just surprised that you're letting me off the hook so quickly," She admitted, still feeling a bit blind-sided.

"Nova," he said in his deep timbre that immediately gained her attention. "I fully intend to learn as much as I can about you, in due time. But I do not intend for you to simply reveal all of your secrets to me in one day just because you promised to answer any question that I asked. That destroys the point of earning one another's trust. I believe that you will tell me more about yourself in your own time, once you learn that I can be trusted. You must understand that I will never force you to do something that you do not want to do. Your secrets are your own, and I know that eventually you will tell someone. It may not be myself, but I know that you will tell someone more about yourself in the fullness of time. But for now, I think that is quite enough."

Nova don't know what to say but she couldn't believe Optimus decided to respect her wishes in keeping to herself. She was unable to gained her memories which she had little time to figure it out. She questioned lastly, "Optimus, I've been wondering, why? Why did you become my guardian? Surely, you know I don't need anyone to watch over me and yet you volunteered to be guardian."

"I....do not know, but I do know is that I became your guardian because I do not want to see you and the children get hurt. Despite your against it, It is our duty to protect all human life, even yours."

"I guess....I'm going to be stuck with you from now on. Great~~~" Nova said sarcastically. However, Optimus also had second reason that he became her guardian. Because there was something special about her, even though she faced danger and yet she overcome it. Something tells him that she is more than just a human. As both of them remained, watching the stars in the dark sky.
