[Request] TFP - Smokescreen x (Human) Reader
I do not own the Princess Bride. It belongs to the respectful creators and owners.
You stood in front of your guardian's sleeping form, paintbrush in hand. You snickered to yourself quietly.
"Just gotta add the eyelashes...perfect!" You whisper-yelled.
Smokescreen groaned from beneath you.
'Crap, he's waking up. Gotta scram!' You thought, picking up your can of paint. Jumping down from his chassis, you scrambled down the ladder you had used and ran out of the room as fast as your organic human legs would allow.
"What happened? I could have sworn..." You couldn't hear what he was saying anymore because you were already down the hallway.
As soon as you entered the main room, you burst into hysterical laughter. Ratchet looked at you weird, shuffled away a bit, and continued working. Optimus didn't even look up from the datapad he was reading.
Bulkhead and Miko stopped playing guitar.
"Did you do it?" Squealed Miko.
You nodded your head rapidly. "You can bet on it kid! Now give him 3...2...1..."
Smokescreen walked into the main room, half asleep and clinging to the wall like a lifeline.
Everyone laughed, even Ratchet and Optimus. Smokescreen had his dermas painted pink, a slight blue was painted across his faceplates to act as blush, and had HUGE eyebrows painted in black over his optics.
"Who's the artist?" Arcee asked, holding her sides from laughter.
"Artist? What do you-" He looked at the reflective metal if the base walls. Smokescreen realized what everyone was laughing at.
"Ughh, why me?" He whined. "This isn't funny!" He yelped, crossing his arms.
"Y-you're right," Miko said. "It's hilarious!"
Your guardian groaned in embarrassment. "Really
(Y/n)?" He asked, giving you a 'not-amused-by-any-means' look.
"Yes Smokescreen, really. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up!"
He strode off to wash the paint off of his faceplates. The only question that remained was where he going to find the hose. Totally not hidden by you or anything, right?
About an hour later, a paint-free Smokescreen entered the room once more.
"Optimus," he begged, "please tell me that there are some missions I can go on!"
Optimus nodded. "Indeed there is Smokescreen. I need you to go check up on one of our energon mines."
"Heck yea! Come on, (Y/n)!" Yelled Smokescreen like you had never painted his faceplates in the first place.
--------------------------------------
You had arrived at the energon mine. Transforming, Smokescreen sat you down on his shoulder plating.
After a minute of poking around and not finding anything, Smokescreen commed back to base.
"Nothing here, Optimus. Just as we left it," he said to supposedly no one, but you knew he was using the comm links.
After a few moments of silence, he said, "You got it Optimus!"
You looked at your guarding weirdly. 'What now?' You thought.
Smokescreen turned his helm to you. "Hey (Y/n), we're heading to my crashed escape pod." You tipped your head sideways, silently saying go on. "Optimus picked up an energy signal and want to find out what it is."
--------------------------------------
The both of you arrived at the dead forest. You elbowed his neck cables to get his attention.
"Hey, remember the day when you got here?" You asked.
"Yep. The day I met Optimus, best day of my life!" He said happily.
You smirked. "And the day that you nearly blew him up too."
Smokescreen would have paled if possible. "Heh...heh...it wasn't on purpose though!" He quickly added.
"Whatever you say, Smok- hey, what's that?" You asked, switching subjects halfway through the sentence.
Smokescreen was already on his way over though. "What's this?" He asked to no one in particular. Spinning and observing the red and black object in his servos, he beadily eyed the object.
"Found the source. Requesting groundbridge."
The swirling green and blue portal opened before you. Walking into it, you clung to his shoulder plating. It never got any less amazing, no matter how many times you used or saw it.
Smokescreen entered the base. Ratchet was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey," Bulkhead said, stepping up, "I'll take that for you."
Smokescreen nodded. "Sure."
Raf was on Bumblebee's shoulder, talking to the scout.
"Really? That's so cool Bumblebee! You've gotta take me next time!" Raf exclaimed, smiling. 'Wish I could understand him,' you thought. 'Would make life so much easier.'
Bulkhead was so busy looking at the relic, though, that he didn't see Bumblebee walking right in front of him.
The green wrecker crashed into Bumblebee, which caused Raf to go flying off of Bumblebee's shoulder platings and towards the floor.
"Aah!" Raf screamed as the floor came closer. The short kid was saved last second by Ratchet, who had just entered the room.
"What were you guys thinking?" He asked, pointing his wrench at the two fallen Autobots. The Autobot CMO placed Raf down on the ground by the couch before returning to his scolding.
No one noticed the relic that you and Smokescreen had brought back was powering up.
"-'ve caused a lot of damage to Raf! Do you even know how mad Optimus would be if that happened?"
"Get down!" You yelled.
"Wh-" Smokescreen was cut off when the beam of light coming from the relic hit him straight in the chassis. He stumbled back a few steps, grabbing onto the wall.
"Ratchet I don't feel too good," he wheezed. You jumped onto the railing, which was only a few feet away. You looked at Smokescreen, who was now on the ground withering in pain. You could feel fear rising inside of you.
A cloud of smoke appeared around Smokescreen, and he disappeared.
"Do you just disintegrate my guardian?" You asked, looking at Bulkhead.
A 'meow' came from where Smokescreen was. Everyone at base turned around and saw a cat. A yellow, white, and blue cat.
"Is that-?" Bulkhead asked.
"Smokescreen?" Finished Ratchet. "Yes, it is. Seeing as he is now an Earth feline, it would make sense for one of the humans to take care of him."
You raised your hand. "I will."
--------------------------------------
It had been six days since Smokescreen had been turned into a cat. Ratchet said that it would probably take a week to wear off though.
You say in front of the TV, watching The Princess Bride(a very real movie, check it out some time. Very good!) with Smokescreen in your lap.
You often worked at animal shelters, so your parents thought you were just babysitting one of the cats there. When they had asked about the unusual coloring, you said, "Science and stupidity."
So, here you were, clutching Smokescreen in your arms against your chest as you watched the movie.
"It's inconceivable!" You said right in time.
"Is that a ship following us?"
"Nonsense, there are no ships out here!"
You ended up reciting the entire script of the movie as you watched it.
"Aww, see Smokescreen? They have such a happy ending!" You cooed. The cat scoffed.
Rolling your eyes, you held the cat closer. Smokescreen meowed in protest.
"See Smokescreen? That's how I feel when you won't put me down at the base!" You said. The blue, yellow, and white cat rolled his bright blue eyes.
The cat began to glow an eerie yellow.
"Shoot!" You yelled, grabbing the cat. "Mom, dad, I'm running the cat back to the shelter now!"
A voice, most likely your dad's, 'humphed' at it.
Pulling your phone out of your pocket, you scrolled down to Ratchet's comm number and called.
"Ratchet, that weird thing is happening! Get me back to base!" You yelled into the phone as the cat began to grow bigger.
A blue and green portal swirled to life right in front of you.
Jumping through, the portal closed. The Smokescreen cat was now triple its size from when you were watching The Princess Bride. Ratchet picked up Smokescreen and carried him into the lab.
--------------------------------------
1 hour.
2 hours.
4 hours.
5 hours had passed since Smokescreen was taken away by Ratchet, and you were beginning to grow concerned. Right before you could ask if anything had happened, Smokescreen walked out of the medical bay.
Ratchet muttered something under his breath.
"I can only say one thing right now," Smokescreen declared, looking at you.
"Hmm?" You asked, lifting an eyebrow. Miko looked over, waiting fro what Smokescreen had to say.
"Inconceivable!"
