✅Bayverse - Drift x (Human) Reader
OOC chatacters. Cheesy af. Also, pretend they have bipedal holoforms. And human holoforms.
---
Everyone was in a near-breakdown mode from the stress. Crosshairs was outside shooting at quick-make targets. Drift was practicing with his swords against an imaginary opponent. Optimus was pacing back and forth, while Shane and Tessa were on the couch making out. In front of everyone.
Bumblebee was playing different songs on the radio to try and calm himself down. Hound was rambling on about old fights back on Cybertron. Cade was 'stress inventing,' as he called it. You actually gave him a screwdriver, hammer, some nails, a welder, some scrap metal, and some dead phones that you had found.
And you? You were silently reading.
Mass-displacement was also popular with the remaining Autobots- a feature that Ratchet(the Hatchet) had added so that they could still be Cybertronian but human sized-ish. They were still 7-8 feet tall, but at least they weren't six stories.
It was nearing nighttime, and the stress was helping no one. And you were just about to blow from how tense the air was. So you did, 'cause why not?
"That's it!" You yelled, getting everyone's attention. "Hound, get Crosshairs in here. I don't care if you have to knock him out and drag him by the goggles, but get him in here!"
You turned to everyone else in the church, who were all looking at you funy. You sighed. "I know we're at war here and are fighting, but the tension and stress won't do use any help not good. So-" You were cut off when Crosshairs came flying in through the doors.
"~Face plant~" said Bumblebee through the radio. Hound snickered.
"Ow, mate, what was tha' for?" Crosshairs complained, picking himself up and dusting off his trench coat, glaring at Hound.
"Ok!" You said gleefully. "Now everyone's here, mass-displacement. Now!" No one asked questions, thank the heavens.
"May I ask what we are doing, (Y/n)?" Optimus asked.
You pulled out a chair and put it in the middle of the room. "We are going to play some games."
Crosshairs scoffed at the idea. "Games? Lemme list some things wrong with this right now!" He complained. "One, aren't games meant for human sparklings? Two, we're at war here! And three, w-" Crosshairs was shut up by Drift who popped out his sword and pointed it at the lime green mech.
"Cage fight?" Asked Hound.
"Well, really it's up to you guys. I was thinking something along the lines of hide and seek, or tag." You stated, picking up a stone from the ground and dusting it off with your thumb. "Or we could tell stories."
"Hide and~go~seek!" Exclaimed Bumblebee. You looked at everyone else for approval.
"We have nothing to loose, so I say we should play it. It would help relieve some of the stress anyways," Optimus stated, glaring at Crosshairs still. Poor guy. What'd he do to tick a Prime off? Or more like THE Prime. Him being the only one around and all.
"Alright," Tessa and Shane agreed. Everyone looked over to Cade, who was now sleeping in a small pile of blankets.
"Do we need to go over the rules, or should we just start playing?" You asked, looking at each and everybot. Everyone shook their heads.
"Let's get this party started!" Yelled Hound, pumping an army green fist into the air.
"So who's seeking?" Tessa asked.
"How about you?" Sneered Crosshairs. He didn't like Tessa and Shane after a make out session took place in his vehicle mode and Optimus wouldn't let him do anything about it. "I say it would be...fair, don't you, mate?"
Bumblebee raised his hand. Everyone understood what he was asking for, so he offlined his optics and put his servos over his faceplates. He began to play an automatic timer that went for one minute.
Watching everyone scamper for a place to hide was rather entertaining.
You grabbed Drift's now smaller servo and dragged him with you. He followed you, his optics filled with confusion as you led him to the back corner of the church. Snickering, you climbed up the ladder. Once you got yourself up, you bent down to help Drift scurry on up. He latched onto your arm when the ladder fell down, though.
He nearly dragged you down, cause, man did he weigh a LOT.
"My sincerest apologies,
(Y/n)," Drift said, looking ashamed.
You shook your head. "It's fine. No one knew that the ladder would have had fallen down anyways. Now come one!" You whispered, hearing someone scramble with the now broken ladder.
Dragging Drift through the upper storage half of the church, you lead the blue samurai Autobot to one of the more secure beams before walking on one. After wandering and meandering around for a few minutes, you found what you were looking for- the basement stairs.
"Pst!" Drift turned his helm towards you. "This way!" The two of you climbed down the stairs and into the basement. Only then did you realize how bad of an idea it was to come down here. After all, you've always hated basements and have been afraid of the dark.
You hesitated once you shut the door to keep moving. You could hear your heartbeat thrumming in your ears, and your pulse doubling in pace almost instantly when the lights went out.
"GAH PRIMUS SLAGG IT!" You stopped moving. It was Crosshairs who had been found. The accent definently gave it away. Or the loudness of it. Either way, it was easy to identify.
Subconsciously, you had been slowly began to cling onto Drift. Once you realized why you were doing, though, you backed away, apologizing for intruding into his personal space bubble.
"It's fine, (Y/n). Is there something down here that you do not like? We can always leave and get another hiding spot."
"No thanks, Drift. I-it's f-fine." 'Oh great,' you thought. 'Now I'm stuttering. In fear. Of the dark. Good going you douchebag!'
"I wouldn't be to sure about that, miss (Y/n)."
You sighed, knowing that there would be almost no backing out of this now.
"Promise not to laugh?" You asked meekly, afraid that he might make fun of you over such a silly fear.
"Of course I won't laugh,
(Y/n)." You mentally sighed at the same time as you braced tousled for his reaction.
"It's just that, I'm, uh, kinda a-afraid of the, umm, dark." You spilt quickly.
Suddenly, the room got a lot brighter. You turned to see that Drift had pulled out a flashlight. Slightly flustered, you gave a quick thank you, to which Drift chuckled at.
"WHERE IN THE NAME OF UNCRION AND PRIMUS ARE THEY?!?!?!" A voice yelled from the center of the church. It was Crosshairs. Again.
"I DON'T KNOW WHERE DRIFT AND (Y/n) WENT!" Yelled Hound.
"Guess we're the last ones left," mused Drift.
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Do you mind if we stay here a little longer, (Y/n)?" Questioned Drift.
"Alright," you said, scooting closer to the blue mech. He pulled you closer and plucked you of the ground, forcing you to hold in a Yelp of surprise. He set you down on his leg. You always thought that their metal bodies being warm was kinda freaky, but now you thought it was nice, considering the temperature of Chicago and the basement combined.
Leaning against him, you sighed. The two of you stayed there for another hour before someone yelled(someone as in Crosshairs and Hound) "WE GIVE UP! COME ON OUT! YOU WIN!"
You hopped off of Drift's leg before leaving the basement. Drift jumped down the place where the ladder was earlier and proceeded to help you get down from the upper loft.
The two of you walked into the main hall of the abandoned church. Crosshairs was fuming over the fact that he had lost a game. A sparkling game. To Drift. To a human. His ego had a dent, that was obvious enough. Shane and Tessa had 'other ideas' that made you shudder. That night, you slept in Drift's alt mode. You two talked for a bit, before you asked a question that had been pestering you for quite a bit now.
"Hey Drift?"
"Yes, (Y/n)?"
"How...how do you feel about me?"
The Bugatti remained silent for a minutes. You began to panic, thinking that he had glitched or that you had pushed a personal boundary to far.
"To be honest with you, (Y/n), I like you. I like you a lot. May I ask how you feel about me?"
You hesitated for a second before responding. "Heh. I feel the same way about you."
You flinched in surprise when his holoform appeared in the driver's seat. His holoform had black hair, pale white skin, bright blue eyes, and two awesome looking swords on his back. He pulled you into a hug in which you gladly returned. And that's where you stayed until the morning, in each other's arms until the morning.
Only then it dawned on you....... "Where did you get that flashlight from?"
"...My subspace, why?"
"Oh."
