Shatter x Dropkick
Sad/Happy
———

Shatter's fingers flew across the dashboard, her blood red optics scanning the screen for any source of the signal. The tower she was perched on was the only way she and her partner, Dropkick, could contact the Decepticons and bring them to this planet. However, she was being met with resistance.

A little female fleshing was trying to sabotage her computer console, but she could easily take care of her. It was the Autobot scout, Bumblebee, she was worried about. Dropkick was currently fighting the yellow mech down below and Shatter was worried about her lover.

Their love had been kept a secret from the Decepticons, for showing affection was strictly forbidden. That didn't stop Shatter or Dropkick from showing affection to one another when out of sight and hearing range of a commanding officer.

Shatter stiffened when she heard a pained grunt come from where Dropkick was battling Bumblebee, turning her head to look. The yellow scout had Dropkick all tangled up in a chain on his knees, somehow being able to get it stuck in every possible joint on the blue mech.

Dropkick growled, trying to free himself from the chain and hissing in pain when it ground painfully against his joints. "You think this petty chain can hold me?!" He snarled at the scout, biting back a yelp when the yellow mech tugged on the chain to tighten it. The blue mech realized with a growing horror that he was going to die, his spark dropping into his stomach.

He didn't say a word as he tilted his head up to look at Shatter, who was still watching with a worried look on her face. The chain tightened more and he grit his denta, acting quickly before he was killed. He looked Shatter right in the optics, his own optics filled with fear and sadness. "I love you..." he murmured, being cut off a few seconds later by his own bloodcurdling scream as he was ripped apart by the chain. The blue Decepticon then exploded, his body parts and his energon scattering across the open area.

Shatter could only watch in horror, feeling sick to her stomach. For the first time in her life, she was scared of an Autobot. But that didn't last very long. Her fear was soon replaced with anger and sadness, which proved to be a powerful mix when intensified. The red femme launched herself off of the tower, the force of her leap making the female human lose her grip and slip down a few bars.

Slamming into Bumblebee with tears streaming down her face, Shatter threw everything she had him. She picked him up and threw him across the open area, immediately pouncing on him like a cat and kicking him hard in the side. She mercilessly attacked him until he was unconscious and bleeding, her chassis heaving with effort.

She turned to look over her shoulder, the sight of Dropkick's body parts scattered across the area making her want to vomit. She swallowed hard and ignited her thrusters, flying back up to the tower and checking on the signal. "Thank Primus... they received it....." She murmured, sinking down to her knees once it was done and putting her head in her hands. Until the others arrived, she just sat there and cried her optics out.

"This is all that's left of him?" Shockwave asked in a dull tone, hesitantly picking up a piece of what looked to be Dropkick's arm and examining it.

Shatter nodded, trying to keep her composure in the presence of the higher ranking mech. "Affirmative. The scout did this." She replied, clenching her hands into fists to contain her anger.

Shockwave thought for a moment, glancing at Soundwave before continuing. "Did you manage to save his head from extensive damage? I may be able to transport his mind into a protoform."

Shatter nodded again, her hands shaking as she unclenched them and held out Dropkick's head. Luckily, it wasn't too damaged during the explosion. "I hope you can. Dropkick is a very capable warrior that would be useful on the field." She said. She hated that she had to talk like that about him, like she didn't even care he was dead right now! The Decepticons didn't seem to care much about the dead, only if they were worth trying to bring back to life.

Shockwave dipped his head and gently took Dropkick's head from Shatter. "I will try. This procedure is most logical." He said, turning on his heel and heading back towards the ship.

Shatter sighed heavily and followed him, letting her shoulders sag for just a moment before composing herself once more. She was praying to Primus that Shockwave could work some miracle and bring Dropkick back. She needed him here.

Shatter was willing to wait the entire time it took for Shockwave to perform the procedure. After getting her wounds treated at the Medbay, she paced nonstop outside of the one-eyed mech's lab. Her thoughts lingered on Dropkick and she held back her tears. She needed to stay strong, not fall to her knees like a weakling.

The red femme jumped slightly when the door opened, revealing Soundwave standing there. She blinked a few times before clearing her throat and standing up straight. "What's the news?"

"Statement: Shockwave requests Shatter's presence." The communications officer droned, shifting to the side so that Shatter could walk in.

Shatter hesitated before nodding, silently making her way into the lab. She immediately went over to where the scientist was standing, spotting a protoform laying on a nearby table. It almost looked exactly like Dropkick, just with a few modifications. "You wanted me, Sir?" She asked softly, folding her hands behind her back.

"Yes." Shockwave simply replied, turning around with a cord in his hand and reaching down to plug it into the back of the protoform's head. "I wanted you to be present when Dropkick woke up in his new body. He may be disoriented and confused, so you will need to keep him under control."

Shatter felt her spark jump a bit in happiness and she nodded, glancing at the protoform. "Alright..." She murmured, shifting her pedes nervously.

Shockwave turned back to his computer and typed in a few things before slowly pulling a lever, the whirl of machinery coming to life echoing in the room.

Shatter watched expectantly as the protoform twitched a bit, the data from Dropkick's memory being transported into its processor.

After a few minutes, the optics onlined and Dropkick shot up with a gasp, his new body feeling strange and unwelcoming. "Where am I?! What happened?!" He demanded, starting to panic a bit. He jumped when he felt a firm but gentle hand on his shoulder, looking up to see Shatter standing next to the table he was on. "S-Shatter....? But... b—but I......"

"Shh... I'll explain later." Shatter hushed him, gently rubbing his back while she contained her excitement. She lifted her gaze to meet Shockwave's. "I thank you for your service, Shockwave. I wish to have a moment alone with Dropkick."

Shockwave nodded, gesturing for Soundwave to follow him into a different room.

Once they were gone, Shatter let herself go and flung her arms around Dropkick, hugging him close. "Damnit, Dropkick! I thought I lost you forever!" She lightly sobbed into his shoulder, sitting down next to him so she wouldn't have to hunch over. "Don't you ever do that again!"

Dropkick chuckled, wrapping his arms around Shatter and pulling her close. "Sorry... I promise I won't as long as you do the same." He replied, a small smile forming on his face.

"Deal, you lunkhead." Shatter huffed in amusement, rolling her optics and lightly kissing Dropkick on the lips.
